12 Jun, 2020The story of our wedding
Warning: Long Post... Our Wedding Journey from Hell! We was originally scheduled to get married on April 18, 2020, but like most brides this year, CO-VID 19 threw a wrench in our plans to have a big wedding. Fast forward, we then postponed to July 18, 2020 not knowing fully what the world would look like. For everyone's safety, we again, chose to postpone to June 12, 2021, with plans of legally eloping this year, June 12, and celebrating a 1 year vow renewal. Our officiant backed out 10 days before we were scheduled to elope, then we found out our venue, Wisehaven, neglected to schedule us for next June 12, and booked another couple instead, leaving us no choice, but to choose another day. On top of all this, men's wearhouse agreed to overnight our suits and waive shipping costs (great!). Except the next day only 8 of the 9 suits arrived. I spent more than 6.5 hours on hold for customer service. As we were looking for a new venue, we came across Lauxmont Farms. They were offering microweddings, so we decided to have our wedding this year with 40 family members. We could not have asked dor a better setting, weather, supportive family, caterer, or dj/photographer/videographer who helped with everything last minute. We planned the wedding in a week. Luckily my mother in law is a seamstress so she was able to hem all dresses. She's the real MVP!We live steamed our ceremony on FB, got married, and had the best night of our lives on June 12.
