6 Jul, 2024The story of our wedding
Our wedding was more than just a celebration—it was a historic, culture-blending, heart-stirring experience that honored our journey, our love, and our families. Every detail was carefully curated to reflect our diverse backgrounds, deep connection, and the values we hold close.
In February 2023, Shaloo orchestrated the ultimate surprise proposal for Timothy at The Summit One Vanderbilt in New York City. With breathtaking panoramic views of Manhattan, surrounded by glass reflections of the skyline, Shaloo dropped to one knee in front of a crowd of onlookers. Cheers erupted as Timothy said “YES!”—a magical moment that felt like the top of the world, marking the beginning of forever.
From the very first date at Yvonne’s, a speakeasy in downtown Boston rumored to have been frequented by John F. Kennedy, we felt an undeniable connection. That night, Shaloo jokingly proposed with a Ring Pop from the corner store, and Timothy playfully declared he wanted “12 kids because they were cheaper by the dozen.” We laughed then, but in that moment, we both knew this love was something extraordinary.

Shaloo arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, led by an electric dhol performance, while family and friends danced through the streets, celebrating the joyous union.
Held at The State Room with Boston’s skyline as the backdrop, our Hindu wedding honored age-old traditions while symbolizing our modern love story. We exchanged garlands, circled the sacred fire, and took our Saptapadi (seven steps), vowing a lifetime of love and commitment.
For our reception, we redefined elegance with a unique Yin-Yang black and white theme, symbolizing balance, harmony, and the blending of two souls. The space was a dreamscape of modern luxury, complete with dramatic floral installations and a sleek black-and-white dance floor.
Guests enjoyed a string quartet performance, followed by an unforgettable dance party led by DJ. Every moment—from the candlelit ambiance to the delicious cake was designed to create an immersive experience of love and joy.
