9 Jun, 2018The story of our wedding
Thomas and Amie met 6 years ago through mutual friends on the beach one Summer afternoon. Taking our time to get to know one another was important to us. We found that both being a bit older and never being married was something that meant we had honestly been waiting a lifetime to meet one another. That was exactly what we ending up saying to each other in our vows.
Thomas and I chose Sullivans Island because it is a special place for both of us. We have a beach house out there, we love the water, and we are both beach people. Our vision was not a large church gathering and we wanted it to be an intimate setting. We had a small family ceremony at Station 28.5, and from there met our guests at The Citadel Beach Club on Isle of Palms. Our dog, Piper joined us on the beach after our ceremony.
Both being of Irish decent, we added beautiful touches to our wedding. We had a smal lrish dup play traditional Irish wedding music, we had Bells of Ireland in all of our flowers, and we performed the traditional Irish handfasting.
