The story of our wedding
We got married at my parents farm where we had the ceremony and reception on the highest point of the property, overlooking the fields and pastures with cows grazing. All we cared about was getting married and having a great time celebrating with our closest friends and family. The day started with rain but cleared up mid morning and turned into the most beautiful day - everything was picture perfect and we couldn't have asked for more.
We are pretty simple people and wanted our wedding to reflect that, but in a beautiful way. We wanted to stick with a rustic, farm theme with a sailcloth tent, a combination of farm tables and round tables, natural cross back chairs and simple greenery as centerpieces - less is always more. Everything was just perfect, from the weather to the venue and the tenting with the most beautiful lighting - it ended up being the best and most unforgettable day.
The best part of our wedding day was when Nick and I took a step back and looked in at the ceremony site and the reception site and saw just how beautiful everything looked, how much everyone involved did for us to make this happen, and seeing how much fun all of our guests were having. We spent so much of the day talking to guests and taking pictures that stepping back and taking a minute to take everything in, together, was truly one of the most special parts of the day.
