The story of our wedding
My husband and I got married this past August 2018 on a ranch in Tomales Bay in Marshall, CA, and simultaneously launched our new Mediterranean tapas and Neopolitana pizza pop-up catering company called Huria's! We met in 2013 in Manhattan, were engaged in 2015 in Brooklyn, and celebrated our long awaited dream wedding on Tomales Bay, in 2018. After recently moving from NYC to Northern California, our special day was the culmination of dreaming and hard work, and was not only catered by us, but entirely self-produced and brought together with like-minded professionals in our community. We didn't have a huge budget, but with our ambitous minds and fellow creatives working together, we made it happen! We had our ceremony in front of a vintage, old farmhouse and celebrated our intimate and magical wedding on the ranch and in barns that we converted into cozy, hookah dance lounges complete with hand-assembled hay couches; featuring tapestries made by one of the bridesmaids! We drew from our Cuban and Libyan cultures, the local resources and vibes, and the love and creativity of our guests and commrades. We couldn't have done it without our families and the amazing artists and vendors who collaborated with us and worked with our vision in the most generous of ways. We can't wait to give back and join the wedding community, and I hope our experience can help others with theirs!
