From start to finish, out wedding was DIY. Much work went into the planning for an entire year. There were many instances where we had to change our decisions about a lot of things such as venue, flowers, florist, photographer, videographer, color schemes, food type, decoration, program, invitations, and more. A lot of hard work went into this wedding one everyone's part. But the results were rewarding. I could not be happier with how everything turned out.
Growing up and thinking about my wedding, then actually getting to plan it, I did not realize how much physical labor my fiance and I ended up having to do. We have big dreams, but at the time we did not realize that for our dreams to come true, we had to put in a lot of hard work. If we wanted a big wedding with good, homemade food, we had to start with a venue large enough that included a functional kitchen where the food could be prepared. So, the Monday before the wedding, the bride and groom got down on their knees and started washing the floor of the reception hall where the reception would take place. Without our family's help, nothing would have been possible. Thank you to them and God, our wedding was a blessing.
