7 Mar, 2020The story of our wedding
Michael & I had our dream wedding on March 7th, 2020. Looking back now we would've never guessed how the pandemic would have changed the world so drastically... How if our date had been set just 2 weeks later, our wedding would've been canceled at the last minute. We feel so blessed to have had all of our family and friends make it to South Florida for our special day. The loft of the Lake House was the location were the bridal party got ready. We had so much fun sipping champagne and sharing stories. The natural lighting made it a perfect spot to get glam. I wore a Stella York ballgown. The sheer bodice had lace and shimmering sequins. While the full skirt was made with glitter tulle. Truly a fairytail princess vibe. I choose blush dresses for the bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid picked out a unique dress from different sources. Although no two dresses were the same, they blended together beautifully. The groomsmen wore matching bright navy suits. While Michael stood out in a darker custom made suit. We set up a memorial, photos, votives, and florals for guests to view as they arrive through the Lake House. On the deck there was a bar/ beverage area, charcuterie station, photo back drop and guest book set up for cocktail hour. I would describe our decor as garden glam. We went with eucalyptus garland, fresh greenery, and white and pink roses for the centerpieces. We also added gold votives, to bring the look together and create a romantic feel. We combined a white dance floor, sheer white drapes, and uplighting to achieve a whimsical- airy feel to the pavalion for the reception.Michael & I said our vows underneath an old oak tree in the center of a magical oasis. Surrounded high by lush tropical palms our ceremony felt secluded and intimate. Our 75 guests filled the space perfectly without feeling over crowded. I can still remember the feeling of complete joy as I saw Michaels smile as I walked down the aisle. We had planned this day for over a year and it was finally here! The whole experience felt surreal. One of the things I loved was the first look with my dog Kaos. Kaos is 13 years old and has been with me since I was 16. He has been a constant presence in my life and I knew he had to play a part in the wedding. As the sun began to set over the lake, we had our introduction and first dance. The ambience was so romantic. We had taken dance lessons and I would highly recommend it!The dance floor was packed the entire night. We had so much fun dancing the night away. But one of the highlights of the evening was the last dance. As our guests gathered for the sparkler send-off, we danced to Tennessee whiskey by Chris Stapleton. It was a nice way for us to reflect on the wedding in a private moment.
