The story of our wedding

Our wedding day was easily the best day of our lives! We are high school sweethearts and dated since Homecoming when we were 15, so our wedding day was long anticipated and felt entirely surreal.

Our venue was fully outdoors and located between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. The whole day felt like a fairytale, especially because the aisle at our venue included a long walk around a dreamy pond. We were overwhelmed by the love that day and were so grateful to see family members and friends who had traveled from various states and New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and Canada too.

It was the first weekend of October, and some of the trees had just begun to turn to deep reds and bright oranges, yet the weather was warm and sunny that day. Our ceremony was filled with tears and laughter as well as sentimental touches. Our getaway car was the same car my grandparents used as their getaway car at their wedding over 50 years ago! I also did the first dance with my Dad to a song he would sing to me before bed as a little girl. Matthew and I even recreated some photos from our first Homecoming together.
