16 Nov, 2019The story of our wedding
We got engaged on Christmas day 2018. We woke up early to do Christmas together before going and celebrating Christmas with our families. Matthew had given me a handmade Christmas card in my stocking. While I was reading it, Matthew went behind me and got down on one knee. When I turned around to thank him for the card and gifts I saw him there on one knee. I was so shockedd and happy and of course immediatly started to cry. It was the happiest moment! We couldnt wait to share the news with all of our friends an family.
Our wedding was on November 16, 2019 at Dream Field Farms. It was the most perfect and unforgettable day. We decided to incorporate ourselves as much as possible in our wedding. Our colors were postal blue, sand and white. We had greenery, white roses, and pine cones throughout our wedding decor and bouquets. The bridemaids had hoop bouquets and wore sand colored long dresses with lace detail and cowboy boots. The groomsman wore postal blue suits, sand colored ties, and shotgun shell boutonnières and cowboy boots. Matthew wore a postal blue suit with a sand and postal blue tie, cow boy boots and also had a shotgun shell boutonnières. My dress was full lace and off the shoulders. I wore a long lace veil during the ceremony with my hair up and crystal clip to dress it up once the veil was off. I also wore cowboy boots. We had two flower girls and one ring bearer. The flower girls wore lace top dresses with fluffy tule bottoms, cowboy boots, flower head peices, and carried metal buckets with petals. The ring bearer wore a postal blue pant and vest set, bow tie, cowboy boots and carried a metal sign that read; "For once in her life she's on time! Here comes the Bride." Instead of a traditional sign in book, we had everyone sign a steer skull. The signs around the ceremony and reception were ones that I made. Before the ceremony Matthew and I did a first look. It was the sweetest and helped calm some pre wedding jitters being able to see eachother.

The alter overlooked the pasture area where some of the farm animals grazed. We had instumental music playing while the guest were being seated and then picked a few favorite songs for the processional. My dad and I walked from the top of a hill over a bridge to then go down the isle. It was a long special walk for us and so beautiful. During the ceremony we had Matthew's sisters read the meaning behind the "God's Knot", as we tied together three cords as a symbol of our unity with God and eachother. Our officant made our ceremony so special and uniquely about us. We stayed lost in eachother during the vows and ring exchange as if we were the only ones there. When our offficent said, "you may now kiss your bride", Matthew grabbed and kissed me. As soon as his lips touched mine, the donkey's in the pasture started going crazy, heehawing. It made for a hilarious ending to the ceremony!
Inside the barn was our reception. We had white table cloths with white lanterns in distressed boxes, surrounded by greenery, pinecones and white roses. We had a band (O.T.I) for our reception music and first dances. For food we used Gails down the street. Our menu included; fried catfish, chicken tenders, pork tenderlion, fried ocra, hush puppies, salad bar and loaed mashed potato bar. For dessert we had banana pudding and our wedding cakes. My wedding cake was 4 layers; the top and third layer were naked and traditional wedding cake, the second and bottom layer were starwberry with cream cheese icing. My cake was decorated with greenery and white roses. Matthews cake was butterfinger cake batter with butterfinger and peanuttbutter icing. His cake was decorated with starwberrries, butterfinger candy, and shot gugn shells. We hadd a kids table in the reception area that displayed small paint pallettes filled with candy peices and a cupcake in the center. The centerpieces of the kids tablee included a sign and dumdum sucker bouquets. We also had a memory table in the recpetion area, with photographs of loved ones who are no longer with us. We danced the night away and had a blast. For our send off we did sparklers and ended the night with a dip and a kiss.
