23 Nov, 2019The story of our wedding
My new husband and I got engaged in April (one month before I graduated college) and knew that we wanted a fall wedding, so planned our day in a speedy 7-8 months. Aside from wanting to be married in November, we knew we wanted a beautiful mountain backdrop and a romantic feel. Bowling Green Country Club checked all our boxes and after touring just three venues, we had found ours. The outdoor arbor view was absolutely stunning and we loved it so much, that we insisted on keeping the ceremony outside in frigid (and almost stormy) weather just for those views! We kept our arbor area fairly simple and had the focal points be a white bicycle and a wooden cross draped with tulle and handmade by my dad. After the ceremony, our guests entered the cozy ballroom to enjoy a hot cider bar for the cocktail hour to be followed by an autumn-inspired menu. We loved the glowy fairy lights that came with both ballrooms, we selected wine napkins, white table cloths, and gold chargers for the tables (the venue's suggestion that we absolutely loved!). We loved our fall wedding and felt like we, along with all our friends and family, were welcomed in like family for a day we'll never forget!
