18 May, 2019The story of our wedding
We had our entire wedding celebration at the Art & History Museum of Maitland, and it could not have been a more perfect venue! The setting was Mayan ruin style with tropical flowers. What an amazing choice for the Mayan Chapel and Mayan Courtyard located there. We are both very in tune with nature and we love cultural things, so this was a great mix for the both of us. Our wedding colors were light grey, a pale orange, and coral. All of our decorations were so simple with just a small touch of us incorperated into it. We even had a custome cornhole game that we made together boards and all, with custome toss bags for each of our passions. Mine was Beauty and the Beast and hers was Comic style Marvel.
Our catering company was not the normal wedding buffet or service. We did not have assigned seating either. Our food was from Louie's Bistro Food Truck. The truck was parked on property right outside our reception area so that our guests could have the true food truck experience of going to the window (handing them a ticket - instead of paying) and waiting for their name to be called for their order (meal)! The staff was outstanding and really took care of our guests as well as made it a very fun, unique, and memorable time for our guests. They would go up in groups of 8 to 10 at a time.
Continue reading »Our first dance was to "Stand by Me" (remake) by Prince Royce, and that was our way of opening the dance floor up. We are the type of people that love to dance and just enjoy life to the fullest, so our family and friends helped by joining us and creating the best first memory as one.
My wife just asked me a few days ago if we could have another wedding because the day itself was out of this world phanominal! The entire event was outdoors, in Florida, but it was a perfect 81F with shade and a breeze, we could not have asked or begged for a more beautiful weather day!
Our wedding cake was a tier of cupcakes and one 8" round cake for us to cut. The round cake was made for us by a baker family friend, and the cupcakes we from the award winning (3x) Cupcake Wars champions; Jillycakes, and they did NOT disappoint! The flavors were Raspberry Cream, Churro, Hazelnut, and Tiramisu- EVERYONE loved them! Our personal cake was Macha Green Tea and it was devine as well! No one else got to try it though because we wanted to have the traditional moment of freezing the cake and eating it on your one year anniversary!
Long ago, my mother did catering, baking, floral arrangments and more; however, she has been retired from that industry for almost 20 years. She asked us if there was anything she could help with for the wedding and our response was this, " You can say no, but we would truly appreciate and love for you to make our bouquets.." With this statement she was overjoyed and could not wait to get started. We are so grateful for her and love her so much!
During the wedding, We had an open bar for beer and wine. We had purchased all the product, and we hired a bartender. She was amazing, and so very helpful! Later into the reception, the bartender informed my father that we were almost out of beer. So he secretly snuck away and bought more beer with one of the bridesmen. We had no idea until after! The amount of wine and beer ( with that small beer run) was perfect though, we literally had 6 beers and 1 bottle of wine left over. Everyone had a fantastic time!
Everyone dreams of their "perfect" wedding when they are growing up, and we would be lying if we said this fell short of that dream. <3
