The story of our wedding
Jose and I have been dating for a whopping nine years. He proposed the summer of 2018 at a concert with a ton of our friends around us, I couldnt have asked for a better proposal.
Aside from being busier than I would have liked, the wedding went perfect. We did a first look; totally worth it for the introverted couple! It helped to lessen the jitters. We walked down the aisle to "Sun in your eyes" by Above and Beyond, a beautiful ambient trance song. At the alter, we kept it minimal and basic until the unity ceremony. We chose a beer ceremony, and mixed his favorite beer, a hazy IPA, with my favorite beer, a citrus IPA, into a fun new blend. We loved it and so did our guests.
The rest of the night went so fast. We weren't hungry because of the adrenaline, so we barely picked at the food even though it was delicous and then walked around to greet all our guests. We then had our first dance to the acoustic version of "First time" by Seven Lions. After a few other tradional dances, we went to cut the cake. My mother made the cake for us and topped with it the cake topper that was used at their wedding 45 years ago.
Our friends were there to have a great time. The dance floor was full al night and the photo booth we rented was a hit! I'm so glad I decided to pay for a photo booth service rather than try to DIY it. I'm so excited to see all the crazy photos my friends took when they upload them for us. At the end of the reception, my friends still wanted to party so we all loaded up in Ubers to one of the bridesmaid's homes for an afterparty.
I wish I was a little less drunk (I'm blaming the lack of eating), but it was by far the most fun I've ever had at a wedding.
Now on to the honeymoon!
