25 Aug, 2018The story of our wedding
Rosita Tran and John Reyes III met in Virginia when Rosita was touring graduate schools. John was a current student, Rosita was a prospective student. After the tour, they went their separate ways and lost touch. A year later, each of their paths led them back home to Texas. With the help of the magic that is LinkedIn, John learned that Rosita chose to go to UT and invited her out to reconnect. The rest was history.
On March 4th, 2018 Rosita went on a surprise scavenger hunt that ended where they shared their first kiss. This personalized puzzle hunt recreated their first few dates and it ended with a very special sunset surprise!
John and Rosita had an intimate, modern Texas summer wedding. Their romantic ceremony was held in a cactus garden enclosed by an ivy-covered red brick fence surrounded by massive oak trees. Their friends and family were given fans, sunglasses, and Topo Chico refreshments as they watched the couple exchange vows in the glow of the setting Texas sun. At night, you could see smiles, dance moves, and laughter reflect off of the giant garage door made of glass and steel that connected the dancefloor to the tree-lit garden. Guests looking to take a break from dancing would sneak away to record a video message for the happy couple in an Airstream located out near the courtyard bar. The dazzling sparkler send-off was a fitting finale for this celebration of love and was held under the giant August full moon. John and Rosita were ringed in love with friends and family and they marveled in the magic of this incredibly special Texas summer night
