13 May, 2023The story of our wedding
Jeff & Julia wanted one thing when planning their wedding: a celebration. They wanted all of the focus to be on having a good time with friends and family at the reception. The design could not have been more elegant, but there was also a lightness to it. There was a coziness from the candlelight, couch seating, and comfort foods at every turn. Julia has a smile that lights up a room, so the design truly was a perfect picture representing the newlyweds. Julia & Jeff planned the wedding with a different perspective than a 20-30-year-old bride & groom. They wanted guests (and themselves) to be comfortable & have fun. They knew they wanted to skip all the typical wedding fussiness.
From the bride: "We were solo for YEARS before meeting. We met at 50 and 51. We were absolutely blown away that we had never met each other before, even though we both lived in the same area.", "Jeff took me to Seaside, FL, and popped the question. He was so excited and anxious that he couldn't wait and follow his plan."

The bride & groom were amazed by Nancy's team - the bride said "We had every food station possible." The meal was a combination of hors d'oeuvres, self-service buffet, & seated dining. When they say they have it all, they truly mean it. Gourmet pasta, every fruit you can imagine, strawberry pecan salads, charcuterie cones, and don't forget fried food. It is Louisiana, after all! The bar was wide open all night, of course. Let's not forget the couple's signature drinks, though. The bride's drink was a "Singapore Sling" -- a gin-based cocktail that originated in 1915 at the Iconic Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Beyond gin, a Singapore Sling also contains pineapple juice, lime juice, curacao, and Benedictine. Grenadine and cherry liqueur give the drink a pink hue. For "His" drink, the groom wanted the best (and his personal favorite) for his guests. Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, full-bodied wine with a complex aroma of black currants, vanilla, and toasty oak. The flavors of juicy red berries and chocolate are balanced by smooth tannins, resulting in a soft and lingering finish.
