8 Dec, 2017The story of our wedding
Jason and I met back in 2005 when we both decided to take piano as an elective class in high school. It wasn't until March of 2009 that we started dating, long after the years of high school were behind us. After six years of dating he proposed at Eolia, the mansion within Harkness State park. It's one of our favorite locations to visit and the gardens are beautiful. We later had our engagement photos done at this location.
Our wedding took place in the historic United Congregational Church of Norwich, Connecticut. On December 8, 2017, we exchanged our vows in front of an intimate gathering of friends and family. Our theme was Christmas and our colors reflected that. We gave out sugar cookies as favors and had Mr. and Mrs. Claus on top of our spice cake with cream cheese icing. We served a meal of turkey or ham with all the fixings you would see at a holiday dinner.
The celebrations went late into the night and included a conga line and karaoke. Several of our guests said it was the most fun wedding they have been to. There is a certain magic to that time of year, pair that with all the love that was in the building that day and it becomes tangible.
