The story of our wedding

After meeting in in college, we went on to go to graduate school together, move in together, and adopt a dog together. About a year after graduation, Lucas and I travelled back to our college town where he proposed at lakeside at sunset.

After touring venues in our new city, we were having a hard time finding somewhere that felt like "us" as opposed to just "me" or "him". While on vacation in California less than a month after our engagement, I turned to look at him and said "Let's just do this - get married on a beach."

A year later, surrounded by 30 of our friends, family, and closest loved ones, we said "I do" at sunset on the beach I grew up on with my mom and brother. We followed up with a reception in a private dining room in a nearby restaurant with views of the bay. Everything was within a 10 minute walk of everything else, and we never once moved the rental car. The entire weekend was full of love, celebration, and quality time with the people that mean the most to us. Every event felt intentional and intimate, and every detail was more perfect than we could have possibly ever imagined. We reserved the three largest suites at a boutique hotel a block from Coronado's South Beach, which made the entire weekend feel like one big family gathering, as opposed to an orchestrated event.
