The story of our wedding

Haze proposed to me two months before he left for what was supposed to be a year long deployment for the United States Marine Corps in 2019. We faced a lot of challenges towards the end of the planning process, of which I was on my own to plan. Not only were we planning a wedding during a pandemic, but, because of the pandemic, Haze’s return was delayed by over 2 months!! We were faced with the decision to either change our wedding date, cut our guest list, and move the venue - basically change everything we had planned originally. Through every road block, we kept the faith and persevered. And it worked out SO perfectly!! We hit the timing just right for our town to ease restrictions on capacity, we were able to keep our original date and Haze miraculously came home just 2 weeks before the wedding! Almost all of our guest list was able to attend, and what a joy it was to have all of our friends from all backgrounds in one place celebrating with us. For those who couldn’t make it in person, we were able to broadcast our wedding on Facebook through our church’s page. It’s so nice to have that video to watch over and over again! Haze and I were able to take our honeymoon without any problems as well. We were so blessed with how our wedding day and honeymoon played out, because immediately after we returned home, everything shut down again. We have been singing praises ever since and rejoicing in our great fortune to have had the most fun and perfect, sunny wedding. 🤍
