28 Sep, 2019The story of our wedding
Manny and I met in High School, we were best friends for many years before we realized the reason it never worked with anyone else was that we were meant for each other. He proposed in Venice Italy, in the most romantic setting, in the most romantic place in the world. For our wedding we wanted somewhere that felt unique, we settled on Paso Robles as the perfect destination, about a 2.5 hours drive from where we live. Far but not too far where it would be inconvenient for our friends and family to travel to. We had some really amazing vendors, we got lucky. We were planning from a distance so it wasn't realistic to drive down very often to check on every little element. We were blown away at how beautiful our wedding was, we kept looking at each other and saying "This is so nice." My favorite moment by far was walking down the aisle and seeing Manny for the first time We got married at Old Mission San Miguel and it made for the most gorgeous photos. We had a gap between our ceremony and reception, about 3 hours. We were so worried that our guests would be waiting around. Turns out people figured it out and wasn't a big deal at all. Meanwhile, we got to take all of our photos pre -cocktail hour and were able to spend our entire wedding with each other and our guests without having to be pulled in all directions for photos. We got countless advice from married couples who say "time flies so fast" For us, it felt like we had the opportunity to be in the moment and enjoy all aspects of our wedding. It truly was the best day of our lives and a great way to start our forever.

The speeches! My maid of Honor did a hilarious rap that people still talk about to this day.
DJ: Had everyone dancing all night, always make sure to give your DJ a DO NOT playlist but try not to be too strict, our DJ understood our vibe and played a great variety that appealed to everyone.
Churro bar: We opted for a private cake cutting to keep with tradition and to incorporate some heirlooms of cake servers from Manny grandparents but had a churro bar with ice cream for our guests.
Always remember the day is about the celebration of your union, no one truly notices the little things. The power went out for about 30 seconds during the middle of our wedding and all our guests cheered! They thought it was part of the wedding haha. The venue staff worked quickly to resolve it and the rest of the night went on as planned.
