30 May, 2020The story of our wedding
First off, we are a COVID couple who changed plans last minute, in order to keep friends and family safe. Instead of our original large wedding, we decided to elope in a canyon close to my husbands home so that family wouldn’t need to travel as far. We planned the whole thing in 2 weeks. Through several difficulties, we found a location that allowed us entry at 4am. I drove up, David was blindfolded, and Brittany the photographer was ready to go. We hopped on an ATV and headed into the canyon for sunrise. I closed my eyes to avoid freaking out over the terrain in the dark. We heard coyotes yapping, heard a large huffing noise, freaked out a little, but the experience was worth it for that sunrise first look. The rest of the day included a 5 mile hike on the Lighthouse trail for some intimate photos at the canyons most well known rock formation. We then met family near a cave, after a long day hiking in our wedding attire, and we had an intimate ceremony. There wasn’t a single dry eye. The entire day was so special and unique and very “us”. I’m so happy that plan B was amazing as it was, thanks to our family, our photographer, and David’s attitude towards change. It was the longest, hottest, happiest, and best day ever.
