The story of our wedding
Our journey to the aisle began when we were both 21. We met each other through my best friend and we instantly clicked. A few months later, we were dancing together at that same friends going away party and Gabe leaned in for a kiss. As they say, the rest is history.
We were together for the next 5 years, growing up, learning from each other and traveling the world. My two greatest passions in life are cruising and Harry Potter. On March 5th, 2017, we were on Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas eating at our favorite restaurant, Chops. Just before dessert came, Gabe stood up, walked over to me and got down on one knee and proposed. I'm pretty sure he asked me to marry him, but I was crying so much I didn’t actually hear him say it!
Once we got home, the planning began! I knew I wanted to combine my love of Harry Potter into our wedding, but I am also a traditionalist at heart, so I still wanted it to be classy and formal. We even took our engagement photos at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal! After searching all through the Central Florida area for a venue, we settled on the beautiful Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, FL. Their property is absolutely stunning and their service is top notch.
I researched almost all of my vendors on Wedding Wire and attending a few bridal shows. This was such an amazing help. After cultivating my team, it was time to take on some DIY projects for our Harry Potter touches, which you can see in the photos below.
When it was finally time for our wedding day, we were overjoyed. We got married at sundown on November 10, 2018 will 70 of our closest family and friends. My best friend that introduced us even flew in from the United Kingdom as a surprise to us both!! We were over the moon. While we were both so nervous, the second we had our first look, our nerves melted away and we were able to enjoy every moment of our wedding day. It would be so hard to choose just one moment that was my favorite of the day; from my grandparents walking me down the aisle (they are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary!), to our first kiss, our first dance, it was all perfect.
I hope you enjoy our photos a much as we enjoyed our day. It wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing vendors!
