The story of our wedding

We had an intimate wedding in a vintage lodge amidst the winter woods near Durham, NC. We tried to incorporate natural and local elements to the best of our abilities. We heavily used pine cones, that we foraged ourselves, as decorative elements to represent the outdoors of North Carolina. Likewise, the bouquets, boutonnières, corsages, and centerpieces, which also incorporated pine cones as key elements, were made by us. For the reception, we were committed to celebrating our cultures, through the food, which was prepared by a restaurant where we first met. They served delicious Indian and Korean dishes, which they prepared with extreme tenderness. Our musicians, photographer, and jeweler were local as well. For the wedding favor, we gave out native seed mixes. Our ceremony was cozy and personal- one of our coworkers was the officiant, and a friend penned a beautiful poem that he narrated as a reading during our ceremony. We had about 50 guests. Our friends and family stood beside us and helped us execute our vision for this special day, and we couldn’t have done it without them!
