The story of our wedding

Our wedding at the Market at Grelen was simply the best day of all days. We could not have experienced such a dream if it were not for all our amazing vendors. Our wedding was originally planned to take place in New England, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we needed to plan our wedding in Virginia. By the grace of God, the most amazing vendors were available and worked with us despite our time crunch of 7 months to plan a wedding in a new location, Somerset, VA. Every element of our wedding was perfect thanks to the help of our vendors and Dickie at Just a Little Ditty Events. Some of our favorite elements of the day were the one-of a kind unique florals, private time at our first look to share our personal vows, the bride’s grandmothers serving as grandmothers of honor in place of flower girls, sharing communion at the ceremony for the first time as husband and wife, a popping dance party complete with glow sticks and confetti, and homemade ice cream from the Market at Grelen, made with their in-season fruits. The best man (brother of the groom) and maids of honor (sisters of the bride) shared heartfelt speeches and gifted us with written versions of these speeches as gifts to remember for always. The father of groom shared a prayer before dinner and the grandfather of the bride shared a blessing before departing through a sparkler sendoff to the most gorgeous white vintage getaway car. It had rained all morning and even up until ceremony time. Thanks to the Market at Grelen and Dickie’s quick thinking, the ceremony was bumped an hour and guests were hosted in the beautiful greenhouse for an hour to facilitate a gorgeous (dry and rain-free!) ceremony. We are so thankful for each and every member of our family, friends, and vendor team for the dreamiest day we could have ever asked for!
