4 May, 2019The story of our wedding
Kym had just finished the busy season at work and Brian planned a weekend away in Montauk to celebrate.
On February 24, 2018, after stopping at the liquor store in town for a bottle of champagne to "celebrate Kym getting her CPA license," Kym and Brian headed to Gurney's Resort for some cocktails and a fun afternoon together.
Brian and Kym had an 8 pm dinner reservation, but Brian planned to leave around 7:15 to "have a drink first" - little did Kym know, he built-in buffer time for another reason. While Brian was down on his knee tying his shoes to top off a very dapper outfit, he looked up at Kym, conveniently standing in front of him, and pulled the ring out of his jacket pocket.
After a few exchanges of "you're joking right?" Kym said yes!
Our wedding was set in the town where we both grew up, and the home where we are building a house and starting our life together as husband and wife. Getting married at St. Patrick's Church in Huntington was the easy choice with its traditional Roman Catholic stained glass and the warming atmosphere every time we go. Our priest, Father Michael Bissex, was such an incredible addition to our day, keeping the ceremony light-hearted and personal.

HCC was the undisputed choice for our wedding reception, not only because of the personal history of the club, but because we have shared so many amazing memories with our wonderful friends at this venue and know the wedding would be just the beginning of so many more life events.
The cocktail hour was exquisite, overflowing with sushi, pasta, sliders, a raw bar placed elegantly around an ice sculpture bearing our names, and so much more. Seeing the smiles of our guests as they entered the club made every ounce of stress and planning so worth it.
The reception was the most fun I've personally ever had a wedding and I don't think the dance floor was empty for a second the entire night - including when we were trying to make our grand entrance and they were having a hard time getting people to sit down! Our band, Nocturne, was AMAZING with a full horn section complete with synchronized movements.
Our wedding day was truly one I will never forget and will be hard to top with any event going forward. We are so extremely lucky to have been surrounded by the love of our family and friends and I want to do it over and over again.
