15 Jun, 2019The story of our wedding
After almost a decade together we finally decided to get hitched. Brett got down on onr knee 1700 feet at the top of a mountain and gave Kate an opal & diamond engagement ring. A year later we were married at Brandywine Outfitters Inc in Coatesville, PA.
The wedding was all outdoors & a campout event and most of the guests pitched tents and spent the night. We had breakfast catered in the next morning from Triple Fresh Catering. The location was right on the river with beautiful views and there was even farm animals around the venue and a covered bridge.
Kate wore a beautiful dress from David's Bridal and Brett kept it simple with just a shirt and tie. We didn't have a bridal party, just a Maid of Honor and a Best Man. The brides hair & makeup was done by a good friend who's husaband was also our officiant. The bride walked barefoot down the aisle escorted by her brother and arrived at a beautiful arch handmade by the groom's brother in law. The ceremony was simple and all photos were done by YangPhotoStudios Inc.

Our first dance was to "Naive Melody" by Talking Heads, the bride danced with her brother to "Have I Told You Lately" by Van Morrison and the groom and his mother danced to "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The bride & MOH's bouqets, as well as the centerpieces, were made of wildflowers gorgeously handcrafted by the groom's aunt. The picnic tables were simply dressed in burlap with the flower centerpieces and decorated lanterns. The guests were invited to play a handmade personalized baggo set along with other yard games like canjam and washers.
We hired the Tap Wagon from Quakertown for self-serve alcohol with three different beer choices and homemade iced tea along with red and white wine. We hired Chewys Philly as our food choice which is a food truck that served smoked brisket sandwiches, honey siracha fried chicken wings, smoked pork sandwiches, grilled shrimp tacos, grilled veggie sandwiches and mac&cheese and fries. Dessert was donuts on a handmade wooden stand and of course -s'mores.
The guests left messages for us on personalized vinyl records. We had mini-flashlights for our guests and gave pieces of rose quartz and hand crafted tea bags as favors. A friend of ours gifted us a typewriter that guests could leave notes for us all night. We personalized colorful goblets for each guest so that they could resuse the cups to limit the waste and so they could take them home with them as well. All of the plates & cutlery were made of biodegrable materials.
We kept a roaring fire all through the night and the full moon was shining high in the sky as Philadelphia's own Catullus rocked the live music all through the night.
We are in awe of what an amazing day we had and truly touched by the team effort this event was. It really was the best day ever and we are so grateful for the friends and family in our lives and of course to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.
