Could not have asked for a better experience. After looking at many venues, this one stood out immediately, it has everything and checked all the boxes. The function rooms are spacious and beautiful, the views are absolutely stunning, and the combination of indoor and outdoor spaces made the day feel seamless and special.
The food was outstanding, and the chef was incredibly accommodating, working with us to ensure everything was exactly what we wanted. Guests are still talking about how great the meal was.
Most importantly, the venue manager, Karen, was phenomenal. She was responsive, skillful, organized, and genuinely invested in helping us have the best day of our lives. Her professionalism and warmth made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free, and we always felt supported and heard. We will hold this venue in our hearts for the rest of our lives. If you are considering York Golf and Tennis for a wedding or special event, we could not recommend it more highly. -

Our wedding at York Golf and Tennis Club was absolutely perfect! From the start, Karen, our coordinator, was wonderful to work with. Planning from out of state can be stressful, but she made everything so easy - always responsive, flexible, and genuinely invested in making our day special. She answered every question, offered helpful guidance, and went above and beyond to bring our vision to life.
On the wedding day, Karen was everywhere - calm, organized, and constantly making sure everything flowed smoothly. She checked in with us, our families, and our vendors, ensuring we could truly relax and enjoy the day.

We couldn’t of asked for a better venue!
First off, the venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. From the meticulously maintained grounds to the dreamy lighting and elegant interior, every corner felt like a page out of a fairytale. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful everything was! Every single people reach out to me after the wedding raving about the Food!!! Almost 10 people told me that it was the best filet mignon they EVER HAD!
What truly made our day unforgettable was Karen, our day-of coordinator. I cannot emphasize this enough: Karen is A superstar. A miracle worker in heels. She was calm, organized, always five steps ahead, and somehow everywhere at once.
If you’re considering this venue DO IT. You’ll fall in love with the space, but you’ll be absolutely blown away by Karen. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of, and we owe so much of that to her.

We had our wedding at the York Golf & Tennis Club, and it truly was the best day of our lives. From the moment we booked, Karen, our wedding coordinator, was absolutely incredible—she communicated with me throughout the entire year of planning and made everything feel seamless. She was a total rockstar the weekend of the wedding, especially when we were facing severe weather warnings. Despite the downpour of rain, she remained calm and professional, and we still had the wedding of our dreams.
The food was out of this world! Hats off to the chef—the raw bar was a huge hit with our guests, and the dinner entrees were outstanding. Many of our guests are big foodies, and everyone was raving about the meal (the steak especially!). The open bar was also such a highlight—our guests loved the drink options, and the bartenders kept everything flowing smoothly. Kristen in particular went above and beyond, always making sure we had a drink in hand or a bite to eat throughout the night, which meant so much on such a busy evening.
The venue itself is spectacular. The hydrangeas in full bloom made such a gorgeous backdrop, and our photos on the lawn are some of our favorites. Having our ceremony outside was so special, and starting hair and makeup at 8 a.m. truly made it feel like the venue was ours for the entire day.
Everyone on the staff was warm, welcoming, and so helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue and experience. If you’re considering getting married here—do it! You won’t regret it.York Golf and Tennis Club's reply:

Incredible Venue with Amazing Staff! (Aug '25 Wedding)
We had the most amazing wedding day thanks to Karen and everyone at York Golf and Tennis Club. The venue itself is gorgeous--our guests couldn't stop talking about it--the food was great, and, perhaps most importantly, Karen executed the event with such care that all we had to do was enjoy it! We couldn't recommend this place more--the staff are kind and communicative, and clearly want to help bring your vision for your day to life. Truly a hidden gem! -

York Golf and Tennis was the most amazing choice we could’ve made for our wedding. From the beautiful greenery to the amazing York river backdrop. Karen is the best wedding coordinator in the world. She made sure all the items we brought in for the venue were properly placed in the correct areas. She brought us cocktails after our ceremony. She made the upstairs bridal suite feel like home for the whole bridal party. The whole staff from servers to bartenders are extremely friendly and attentive. We’re still in awe of how perfect of a wedding day this venue provided us!

Karen, the venue coordinator, was phenomenal! From the time we booked to the wedding day, she consistently went above and beyond what we expected. She worked with us until the very last minute to make sure our day went as smoothly as possible, and was just how we wanted. The venue was beautiful, the bar and waitstaff were great, everyone was professional and knew exactly what they were doing. We got so many compliments on the food served and the overall experience our guests had! York Golf and Tennis was absolutely amazing to work with throughout the planning process. Karen was extremely communicative, and willing to have meetings whenever I had new ideas I wanted to discuss. The whether was very iffy the day of my wedding, and Karen truly pulled all the staff together to dry off all 200 seats so that we could have the ceremony outside. The venue is stunning, and my guests are still talking about it!! -

The York Golf and Tennis Club was the absolute best place we could have gotten married. We looked at a lot of coastal Maine venues, as a waterfront ceremony was important to us. After touring the YG&T, we immediately knew this was it. The space is beautiful and has such an inviting feeling, we loved the history (it is in the National Register of Historic Places!), the setting on the York river, the opportunities for how to set up the space, and especially the people. Karen is the venue coordinator and she is such a kind, enthusiastic, and extremely helpful person. We loved working with her and how much care she put into helping us plan and execute the day. Karen worked seamlessly with our wedding planner Lauren Wilson, and together they made our literal dream come true. Everyone working the night of our wedding was so nice and made it that much more special. The food was excellent, with many guests complimenting it. This place is a hidden gem if you are looking for a beautiful and convenient location, a charming space that feels elegant, outdoor and indoor areas, top notch food and bar services included, and a professional/flexible team. -

After touring several southern Maine venues, we arrived at the York Golf and Tennis Club and were met with *that* feeling. The setting is absolutely timeless, like you're transported to this magical place. Our October 2024 was a dream come true. We found the club's pricing to be reasonable and transparent compared to other venues. The coordinator Karen is so responsive and attentive to couples' wants and needs. On the day of the wedding, she hand-placed all of the decor herself based on our prior conversations. She got one of my husband's favorite beers on tap. She made our day run seamlessly. After searching the York, Maine area, we chose York Golf and Tennis Club. The physical space/building is ideal for a wedding! It has the charm and character of the early to mid 1900’s. This well maintained structure sits upon a picturesque hill overlooking the York River. It has a huge wrap around style porch as well as a back porch off the bar area! There is a kitchen on site with a magnificent chef! The appetizers and food were outstanding and served hot!! You must have a tour before you book anywhere else!!
Karen Finan is the event coordinator for the York Golf and Tennis Club. She is outstanding! Karen goes above and beyond her duties! She communicated with us on a regular basis. Karen is always smiling and pleasant, which put me at ease. There was not one detail Karen missed. If you want a competent person to manage your wedding, Karen Finan at York Golf and Tennis is the one!!
I could write a lot more of how happy we were with our choice of Venue. They also provide you with a brochure of vendors they recommend ie photographers, D.Js, Officiants, Florists, Wedding Cakes…. We used the vendors they recommended and were super happy with everything!!

We recently had our wedding at York Golf and Tennis Club and it was nothing short of amazing!
The setting was breathtaking, with the York River and old clubhouse. Due to rain, we held our ceremony indoors. Staff was able to set up the chairs in a moment’s notice. The dining areas and dance floor were equally stunning. The old clubhouse’s charm and ambiance truly made our wedding day unforgettable.
The staff at YGTC went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. From the initial planning stages to the day-of coordination, Karen’s professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. She was attentive to our needs, offered helpful suggestions, and managed all the logistics seamlessly. It was clear that she genuinely cares about creating a memorable experience for couples.
The catering provided by YGTC was great. The entrees we chose (filet mignon, baked haddock, and spinach ravioli) were a hit. The appetizers were delectable and our guests raved about their meals!
The overall atmosphere of YGTC was warm and inviting. The combination of beautiful surroundings, excellent food, and attentive service created an elegant experience that our guests thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend YGTC for anyone looking for a stunning wedding location with excellent food and service. We are so thrilled we chose York Golf and Tennis Club! Everything was amazing - food, drinks and of course the gorgeous location. The real star of this venue is the staff. Sam Baptiste was an amazing wedding coordinator, I truly do not know what we would have done without her! Throughout our wedding planning process she was readily available to answer my questions or jump on a phone call. We brought over our decor the day before and when I came down for our first look, Sam and her team had set everything up to perfection! The day of, Sam came to check on me throughout the day and worked with our vendors to make sure everything went off without a hitch. My bridesmaids and I opted to use the bridal suite upstairs to get ready and am so happy we did! Sam and the team at YGTC exceeded our every expectation. From the start, Sam was incredibly responsive to each and every one of our questions and accommodated us at every turn. Being based out of state, Sam had no problems with phone calls and Zooms to tackle some of the planning. We got so many compliments on our venue!
From the moment we toured, we were highly impressed with the coordinator who was extremely professional and responsive. As we got closer to our big day, she consistently assured us all of our needs would be met and followed through. We didn’t worry about a thing on our wedding day, all thanks to the staff.
The venue has classic charm, but does not feel dated. Most importantly, you can’t beat the views-the ceremony space overlooks the water and we got stunning photos on the golf course. Our guests loved the wrap around porch and the back deck.
The Old Clubhouse sits back from the course which gives it a private feel.
We got so many compliments on the simple beauty of the space, as well as the food.

So when my wife and I started looking at venues, we looked at all the normal ball room style venues and they looked great and all, but it just wasn't us. We came upon the York Golf and Tennis Club and knew instantly that this was the place. Trust me when I say this, you will not be sorry having your reception here. The staff is fantastic, the food was awesome, and the overall atmosphere of the reception, you really couldn't have asked for anything better. Having separate areas to dance, eat, have a drink, and talk with people, really helped to allow people to do their own thing but be part of the wedding the entire time. We had an amazing time. Did I mention how great the staff and the food is, well I did, but it deserves saying again. Thank you again to the amazing staff for making it a great day. Communication with them was really great as well as we could contact them at anytime of the day and knew they would be right there to answer any questions we had. York Golf and Tennis Club was absolutely amazing from the time we signed our contract to when we had to postpone due to COVID to actually getting to have our wedding. The entire staff was fantastic, Sam, our day of coordinator, and Karen, the banquet manager, did everything possible to make sure we had the best day. They made sure we ate, went to the best photo spots (made sure I was warm while we went to take photos!), and made everything absolutely seamless. The food was fantastic, the space was gorgeous, and the day was completely unbelievable. Magical wedding venue
My daughter got married in York this past weekend and had their reception at the venue! It was a magical wedding and your staff was outstanding in every way! So professional and helpful! They made us welcomed and accommodated all our needs throughout the night. Sam ran the show seamlessly and she took all the stress off the family immediately when we arrived! Karen treated us like royalty and checked on us all night long and catered to all our needs. Perfect Place to Get Married in Southern Maine!
York Golf and Tennis Club is the perfect place to get married in Southern Maine! From the minute we stepped onto the property, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. This venue had everything we were looking for: beautiful views of the York River, open air seating on a picturesque wrap around porch, and a large dance floor. Emily Beals, the Director of Events, and her whole team have been fabulous to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. Emily is incredibly organized, very responsive, and had an answer to every question we asked. We were supposed to get married in July of 2020, but we weren't able to go forward with our plans due to the pandemic. We had no trouble rescheduling and are so thankful to have had a venue that was flexible and understanding.
On the day of our wedding every detail was taken care of and all we had to do was enjoy ourselves. Emily and Sam set up every decor item exactly as we had planned, and coordinated with all of our vendors. We had the best day celebrating with our family and friends. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests loved everything they had to eat. We truly cannot say enough about how wonderful this venue is and how happy we were to get married there!York Golf and Tennis Club's reply:

Just the right blend of rustic charm and understated elegance, YGTC provided a beautiful, quintessentially Maine setting for my daughter's ceremony and wedding reception on August 7th, 2021. Our guests, many of them who came from afar, found the location as enchanting as we did on an idyllic summer's day. The staff is truly exceptional, especially Event Coordinator Emily Beals who went above and beyond to satisfy our bride and groom's every request and worked tirelessly to fulfill our vision. (I don't think I ever had a question that she did not respond to within 10 minutes time. ) We also must compliment the chef who presented an amazing raw bar and hors d'oeuvres enough to feed an army, followed by 88 perfectly steamed lobsters and another 80 perfectly done, medium rare filet mignons. (I've attended enough events to know that this is not an easy trick.) Finally, we loved the river views and the high ceilinged ballroom perfect for a night of dancing! Very happy with our choice.

My fiancé and I got engaged right before the World shut down due to the pandemic. It became clear quite quickly we needed to secure a venue as 2020 couples began postponing their weddings until 2021. When I came across the York Golf & Tennis Club on Wedding Wire I knew in my heart it was where we would get married. We weren't able to tour the venue right away because of the pandemic. So, we gambled and booked the venue sight unseen. As the saying goes, sometimes the biggest risks have the best rewards and this was no different. Our experience working with Emily and her team was exceptional from start to finish.
The planning process felt effortless with Emily. She was super responsive to all of our questions and was straightforward in her communication. On the day of our wedding, she and her team were there for whatever we needed. Despite a very unexpected, several hour, midday, power outage, our wedding started on time and our guests had no clue about the midday interruption.
YGTC offers the perfect, classic, coastal setting for your wedding. The meticulously kept grounds overlooking the York River are decor in and of themselves. There are so many beautiful spots to capture your wedding day photos. The venue needs very little decorating to make it feel like your own space. We used colored table linens, floral arrangements, and small coastal touches to make the space feel like our own.
I highly recommend use of the on site bridal suite. It is the perfect setting to get ready and was convenient to be on site for last minute touch make-up and hair touch ups right up until the ceremony.
Our guests have not stopped raving about the venue, the food, and the exceptional bar service. The food at YGTC was absolutely delicious.
Although the experience we had with YGTC was priceless, it is worth noting YGTC is competitively priced and includes SO much.York Golf and Tennis Club's reply:

Fred and I got married on Friday, 5/21/21 at York Golf & Tennis Club after deciding to postpone it from our original September date due to COVID. Emily was newly hired after we started working with another wedding coordinator, and she took over the coordination of our wedding - the transition was seamless - she did an UNBELIEVABLE JOB, especially having to deal with the added curveballs that the pandemic threw our way. Emily was so professional, very responsive to my numerous emails, flexible with changes that needed to be made, super organized, and so friendly to work with - the exact kind of person you want helping to plan your wedding. The day-of was absolutely PERFECT! Emily and her intern Sam were such as great team, making sure I had a drink in hand and that I had time to eat the amazing apps and entrée, that everyone was happy, and that the timeline of events were happening at the right pace. Beyond Emily and Sam and the entire staff (including the friendly and efficient wait staff and the super friendly bartenders who made amazing drinks), the venue itself is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I have just gotten a sneak peak of professional photos so far and they are UNBELIEVABLE with shots of the river as a back drop, and then the beautiful golf course during sunset pictures - truly stunning! Overall, our experience with York Golf & Tennis Club was nothing less than amazing - we want to do it all over again (maybe for a vow renewal in 5 years)!!! We were married at a local church in the same town as York Golf and Tennis Club. The YGATC staff was excellent to us and our guests for our wedding reception. Andrew and I were very pleased with how everything went and it was all done so gracefully and smoothly. During the planning process Emily always was attentive to every email and question that I asked. Emily and Sam were a delight to have during the day and were always there for me when I needed help with my dress or needed more water. The venue was a perfect size for spaced out wedding during the pandemic. We strongly recommend this venue if you're looking in York! Emily was so responsive and professional from the get-go especially when we had to replan our first 2020 wedding all over again. She made sure everything went smooth and flawlessly even down to the last minute rain ceremony set up and break down. The food and service was amazing! All of our guests had commented multiple times on how good every course was. Even after attending several other weddings immediately after ours it was very clear how outstanding the scenery, venue, food, and service were at YGTC. If we had to do it all over again we would 100% do it all with Emily and the team at York Golf and Tennis !York Golf and Tennis Club's reply:

Emily and the YG&TC were amazing throughout the whole experience! We had to postpone, then downsize, then re-invite guests when restrictions starting lifting and Emily was there to support and guide me through every step. She was super responsive, usually getting back to my (many) emails within a day or so which really helped ease the stress of the situation. With her help, I was 100% ready for the big day when it (finally) here! The venue itself is beautiful. The ceremony right on the water was perfect and the sunset pictures on the course were to die for. 10/10 would recommend this venue to anyone who loves Maine and being near the water. I wish I could get married here at least 5 more times! My day was more than I expected and beyond perfect. Hannah and her team are amazing, on the ball, flexible, accommodating, responsive and just all around a joy to deal with. The food was amazing, the venue was gorgeous; I honestly have no complaints AT ALL! My only advice would be to get married here. Our special day will be one that I'll be reliving for decades and a lot of that perfection is due to the York Golf and Tennis Club. -

Our wedding reception at the York Golf & Tennis Club was a dream come true. From the moment we stepped foot into the venue we knew it was the place for us. The building itself is alive with character and the grounds present endless opportunities for postcard-worthy photos. The York Golf & Tennis club is a truly unique place that will give your guests an experience they won’t get at any other wedding. That’s just the physical structure itself – and then there’s the people. Out of the many people involved in our planning process – Hannah is the one person who had the biggest impact on our day. She takes the time to get to know you as a couple, figure out exactly what you’re looking for, and will stop at nothing to make sure everything goes just the way you’d like it to. Throughout the course of the many months we were in contact I found there was no question Hannah didn’t have the answer to, or any change she couldn’t make happen. The day of was absolutely perfect! The food was truly special and delicious! Our guests can’t stop raving about the food and drinks – and I’ve heard time and again that the filet was the best they’ve ever had! An uncle of mine who travels quite a bit commented that the hospitality shown by the staff that day was the highest quality he’s ever run into. I couldn’t recommend the York Golf & Tennis Club enough for your special day! -

Top notch team & venue!
Hi Shawn,
I always knew I would write a review of our daughter’s wedding at York Golf & Tennis Club. It’s taken 2 years to get to it but when I ran into a friend last week and they said it was the best wedding they had ever been to I thought I’d make it a point to get it done now.
I’ll start off with the planning – you and your team were remarkable and incredibly flexible regarding some of the requests we had. From letting one of our best friends handle the kitchen, to giving round the clock access to another good friend for decorating, to the last minute table arrangements on the morning of the wedding – you guys were amazing! I still remember the confusion the night of the wedding rehearsal at your club and if it wasn’t for your experience and guidance, we’d probably still be trying to figure out the best way to do things!
What can you say about your property…a wrap-around porch style setting with beautiful views of the York River for all to enjoy. A massive fieldstone fireplace with a balcony overlooking the dance floor. A deck off the bar area for folks to smell the salt from the ocean breeze. Simply stunning.
To top it off, we didn’t expect that you’d actually be there on the day of the event, both Colette & I were relieved that you were there as a sounding board and to offer advice and reassurance. Our younger daughter which had to give the bridesmaid speech later informed me how nervous she was and that you helped bring her nerves down. Thank you.
At the end of the night as we watched our relatives & friends leave with huge smiles on their faces, we knew we made the right decision having your club host the wedding.
Albeit late…but thank you and your team for helping us host a wedding that exceeded even our best expectations!

Meghan Sent on 08/24/2018I am so happy to be writing this review! We had our wedding and reception at YGTC last Saturday, 8.18.18. I can’t say I miss the planning aspect of preparing for a wedding, but I already miss YGTC. There is not a doubt in my mind that YGTC is the best wedding venue in New England. The venue itself had the most perfect country, ocean, CaPe Cod, coastal feel. I didn’t have to plan that many decorations or centerpieces because the building and surroundings were so gorgeous!
Now onto the people..... absolutely amazing. Hannah was so easy, fun, and fabulous to work with! I sent her countless emails with many questions, all of which she answered in short time. She felt like another guest at my wedding and not just a coordinator. I might keep emailing her to check in because I am just not ready to part ways! She made sure every detail was perfect, eased my mind about weather, and just made sure I was having the night of my life.
Now for the bartenders, the absolute sweetest! My sister put together a slideshow to play in the bar and when I went up to get a drink they complimented the pictures and told me how they enjoyed watching it all night! Our guests were texting us the next day telling us that they had a blast getting to know and talking with the bartenders!
The waitstaff were all so helpful and always made sure our drinks and bellies were full. Our other vendors had nothing but positive things to say about everyone at YGTC. My new husband and I cannot stop talking about the whole experience and we are going to recommend them to all of our friends. I cannot think of a better place to go back and visit when we are in York and reminisce about the most beautiful place and the wonderful people that shared the best night of our lives with us.

Caitlin Sent on 07/25/2018Hannah, Shawn, and the YGTC staff absolutely exceeded our expectations and are seriously a DREAM team! Where do I even begin...It all started when my now-husband, Mike, found this gem on WeddingWire back in December 2016. I was hell-bent on having our wedding at a family members backyard in ME, but after getting multiple quotes and realizing the amount of work it would be to plan I soon realized that it may not be realistic. What really convinced me to kaibosh the backyard wedding was the day we saw YGTC in person. It was a cold day in January and, despite the interior being under construction, we just knew it would be THE place. This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and TIMELESS! It is the opposite of a wedding factory and the pricing is so reasonable!
Throughout the months leading up to our wedding, Hannah was there every step of the way. She was always responsive, pleasant, and eager to help - these qualities proved key to the day's success. The thing that really stood out was her genuine love for her job, her fellow colleagues, and workplace.
The day of our wedding everything was executed perfectly, and all of the staff had that little extra flair that made my guests feel like they were really being paid attention to. When my mother wasn't feeling well Hannah and Karen made sure to do everything in their power to attend to her until she felt better.
My husband and I frequently recount how perfect the day was and wish we could do it all over again!

Andrea Sent on 07/16/2018YOU MUST GET MARRIED HERE - but really though... We got married on June 23rd and it was the best day of our lives. We wouldn't have had such an amazing day without Hannah, Shawn, and the entire YGTC team - they're truly amazing. When buckets of rain fell on our wedding day, we were a little bummed, but YGTC handled it with such grace and made us feel at ease. When the back up plan for your outdoor wedding ceremony is even better than you ever planned, you know you're in great hands!! It was an indoor set-up they had never done before, but their confidence & eagerness to try something new made us excited as well - and it was gorgeous! The culinary team there is very good - from a family that's filled with people that work in the Restaurant & Hospitality industry, they hit it out of the park. The food is carefully crafted and the service is very friendly and warm. It's as if they're opening up their home for the evening. Hannah was always one step ahead of everything, making sure that my husband and I had anything we needed before we even knew we needed it and her and her colleague, Elizabeth, were present throughout the evening. We also heard great things from the bartenders too - they were very popular people that night!! :) bottom line is, YGTC is an amazing venue, beautiful location and newly refreshed to give the room a fresh look - don't look anywhere else in Maine!! These people are top-notch & just get "it"

The York Golf & Tennis Club is a beautiful setting for any wedding or event. The outdoor ceremony space and beautiful interior spaces are just incredible. We got such amazing photos with the York River as a backdrop throughout the entire evening. The bridal suite was also perfect for getting ready and made us feel comfortable all day. Emily’s staff was amazingly attentive throughout, checking in on us, setting aside food as we had photos taken, and making sure we had everything we needed. Emily was also flexible as we worked through a postponement and ever-changing COVID restrictions. Our guests raved about the food and drinks, and everyone had a fantastic time! -

An exceptional experience from start to finish, minus our coordinator. The establishment went out of their way to not let my husband get his round of golf in prior. I had selected this facility, and convinced my husband it was worth the price to plays on their greens and had heard this was commonly included for prior couples. When paying thousands for a wedding, one round of golf for a flexible group of guys didn’t seem like much to ask. Day of everything was smooth sailing, minus the fact that the coordinator, Sam, repeatedly disappeared with the cart having us walk around for photos around the venue. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone, but would advise any brides to find a coordinator elsewhere.York Golf and Tennis Club's reply:

We do not allow golf due to the behavior of previous wedding parties on the golf course, this was a management and Board of Directors decision made years ago. As seen in previous reviews, Sam is a true professional and the reason why we have such a high-rating on-wedding wire. I would be happy to discuss the issues you had besides not being able to utilize the golf course.
