If you haven't booked your wedding florist yet, you can stop looking now- YJD is it! Yvonne and her team are absolutely incredible. From our initial consultation to her helping take home our decor at the end of the wedding, we were truly wowed. I had a specific vision for my bridal bouquet and centerpieces, and Yvonne brought it to life so beautifully. She is truly an artist, and can help you and your partner figure out your vision. She is detail-oriented, hard working, and has a heart of gold. We felt so taken care of by her and her team. One of the key reasons to hire YJD is that unlike other floral design companies, when you give them your budget, they stick with it. Other vendors quoted one thing online and then told us prices that were thousands of dollars more as we went through consultations. Yvonne on the other hand helped us make decisions so we could come in under budget. She even came up with creative ways to reuse florals throughout the wedding day to increase the impact of our flowers! She never tries to upsell you, but instead helps you figure out how to bring your wedding vision to life in a way that reflects your budget. Jewish brides, she also has many beautiful chuppahs to choose from. She came up with a custom plan for us to have a chuppah that really brought together our ceremony space, and it was absolutely stunning. Our jaws dropped when we saw how beautifully she decorated the space. On top of it all, Yvonne treated us like family. She gave honest feedback, had amazing ideas, and did so much more than we would ever expect from a decorator. Hiring Yvonne was the best decision we made for our wedding. We absolutely loved working with Yvonne and YJ Decorating! She worked tirelessly to bring our wedding vision to life and went above and beyond in every way. From the start, she took the time to understand exactly what we wanted, spending many calls with us to make sure every detail was perfect.
She sourced beautiful flowers and created stunning arrangements that matched our vision perfectly. The bridal bouquet looked exactly as we had imagined, and the bridesmaid flowers were gorgeous. She also made a lovely entryway display to welcome our guests, which set the tone for the entire celebration.
When our outdoor plans changed because of rain, she was incredibly flexible and calm under pressure, allowing us to decide the morning of where to set up. She built our mandap beautifully for our first ceremony, and then completely transformed it into a breathtaking arch for our Western ceremony. The floral flip was seamless and so impressive!
We’re so grateful for her creativity, professionalism, and kindness. Everything came together beautifully thanks to her and her team. Highly recommend Yvonne and YJDecorating to anyone looking for a talented and dedicated florist and decorator! -

Definitely Recommend!
We used Yvonne for our wedding florals this past October and we couldn’t be happier! She was so friendly, responsive, and had a lot of great ideas.
She looked at my Pinterest board to get an idea of what I was looking for and made suggestions to make everything look amazing and serve multiple functions from ceremony to reception. She also worked within our budget.
She makes sure every detail is covered from candles, votives, ribbon color, etc. My bouquet turned out absolutely gorgeous!
I would highly recommend YJ Decorating for florals and decor. Yvonne made me feel so at ease and I never had to stress over florals. -

We worked with Yvonne for our wedding florals, and she was absolutely incredible from day one. She is extremely professional, communicative, and genuinely invested in bringing your vision to life. She constantly reminded me that if I had any concerns or wanted to change anything at all, I could reach out to her — she was always there and made me feel so supported throughout the planning process.
From our very first consultation, she was incredibly thorough. She looked through my inspiration board with me and asked thoughtful questions to understand exactly what I envisioned. When I visited her studio, she already had a variety of budget-friendly floral displays prepared so we could review options efficiently and easily. Her knowledge of flowers, color combinations, and what pairs beautifully together is truly impressive. She was able to read me so well and made amazing suggestions based on my reactions and comments.
Another major highlight was her consciousness of our budget. She went above and beyond to deliver gorgeous flowers — bridal bouquet, centerpieces, bridesmaids bouquets, chuppah florals, and sweetheart table decor — all within our price range, and the quality never suffered for a second. Everything was elegant, vibrant, held up throughout the day, and exactly what we hoped for.
Yvonne also made our chuppah extra meaningful. She incorporated my grandfather’s prayer shawl, and even took measurements ahead of time to ensure it draped perfectly on the wedding day. When I saw it all set up, it was so beautiful and special that it brought me to tears.
Our wedding was in August, and she was extremely thoughtful about the heat. She took extra steps to make sure the flowers would hold up, and even on the big day she continued to make small adjustments to ensure everything looked perfect from start to finish.
On the wedding day, I didn’t feel a single ounce of stress about the florals because I knew Yvonne and her team had it all handled — and they absolutely did. My bridal bouquet was STUNNING and I still get so many compliments on it. The bridesmaids bouquets and table décor were exactly what we discussed — elegant, cohesive, and beyond beautiful.
I cannot recommend Yvonne enough. She exceeded every expectation and truly made our floral dreams come to life. If you want someone who is talented, thoughtful, and completely dedicated to making your wedding vision a reality, Yvonne is the florist you want! -

My experience with YJDecorating was nothing but positive. I worked directly with Yvonne and she was able to bring my vision to life with my tight budget in mind. This company is known for their luxurious floral arrangements, but I let Yvonne know ahead of time about the smaller budget I was working with and she still was able to make my dream come true! I know nothing about flowers and trusted Yvonne to make our bouquets, ceremony and reception beautiful. Everything was stunning, simple and classic all at the same time, which is exactly what I wanted. Yvonne was extremely kind, knowledgeable, communicative and answered all of my questions in a timely response. She even let me come into the studio to see examples of what my flowers would look like. The team was professional on site and everything arrived on time. I cannot say enough how beautiful everything was! Thank you so so much for being a part of our special day. 100/10. If I ever have another event that I need professional flowers for, I will always choose this company. -

We began speaking with Yvonne at YJDecorating when we were just starting to pull together the vision of our wedding. From the very beginning, she was extremely helpful and honest, which was not something we had seen from other decor companies. During our very first call with her, we shared a presentation of our vision. It was abundantly clear that she immediately understood what we wanted. Throughout the call, she pulled up examples of what she has done in the past and asked if that was what we were looking for and what tweaks and changes we would like. It was clear from the very first call that YJDecorating would make our vision come true. Throughout the process, we had made changes to what we wanted and Yvonne was there every step of the way. She made sure that we understood what would and wouldn't look good in a gentle manner, rather than just saying yes and putting something together because we were paying. It was that openness and honesty that we appreciated so much and that made sure our wedding looked perfect.
Through YJDecorating, we had a Chuppah, aisle design, stage covers, drapery behind the sweetheart table and covering entrances, up-lighting, and 3 different types of centerpieces, florals. Everything turned out to be absolutely beautiful. When we took a look in the ceremony room before our wedding, we were in awe at how gorgeous everything was. The entire ceremony room was so much more beautiful than we could have imagined. When we peeked in the reception room, we could not help but smile. The centerpieces were perfect, the drapery was beautiful and unlike anything we have seen, and the up-lighting added the perfect touch to the room. Everything the day of went so smoothly and was beyond anything we could've dreamed of.
We would DEFINITELY recommend YJDecorating to any couple getting married. They brought our vision to life and more. Everything was 100% worth every penny. Yvonne went above and beyond in every way to make our decor vision come to life. She was incredibly prompt in all responses, flexible with the innumerable times that I changed my mind about this or that, and had amazing recommendations to elevate our wedding spaces. She accommodated a welcome event the night before with lovely cocktail vases. She attended our walk-throughs with the Langham staff and our planner so everyone was on the same page. It gave us peace of mind to know that she has amazing attention to detail and is so passionate about her art. She constructed the most magnificent Manzanita tree I have ever seen for our entrance table. It was a last-minute request on my part, and of course, she made it happen. The uplighting was elegant. The crushed velvet aisle runner was BEAUTIFUL. Our forever ring of greenery was a lush, elegant statement piece. The table arrangements were stunning and of the exact density of flowers and greenery that I had requested. Thank you YJDecorating for making our perfect day even more magical! -

Great florist for my budget
I did not want to spend a lot on florist and picked a naturally beautiful venue that did not require tons of decor. When I had the consultation with Yvonne, I was impressed by her professionalism and familiarity with her portfolio as well as the quality of their rental items. As another reviewer mentioned, she also respected my budget, unlike another florist who proposed floral centerpieces even though I requested rental items (geometric lanterns). Yvonne also offered to participate in final walk-through and a final in-person meeting despite our relatively low budget.
I did not get to talk a lot with Lisa, the day-of lead, but everything looked beautiful. The florist team seemed to work well with the caterer in set-up and flipping the room. I definitely recommend YJDecorating. -

Could not have had a better experience!
If you have not found a florist, look no further! Yvonne [of YJDecorating Inc.] was amazing to work with. Unlike other florists we contacted, the responsiveness and reasonable pricing stood out. Her professionalism, adaptability, and artistic eye for creating beautiful spaces was evident from our initial interaction. Her commitment to understanding our vision was apparent and she truly translated it into reality. After reviewing our pictures/examples, she outlined a comprehensive plan and promptly provided a transparent cost breakdown.
Throughout the process, Yvonne’s passion and excitement for her craft was clear. Collaborating directly with us, she organized zoom consultations to share updates and discuss ideas. What impressed us most was the ability to pull up examples from her portfolio live as we were chatting to show a type of flower, example, or overall idea. This gave insight to her work and versatility. Even joining during a site visit, the thoroughness and perspective was invaluable.
On the day of our event, Yvonne and her team arrived early and worked seamlessly with other vendors. Their dedication and focus on execution transformed the spaces to create a stunning evening. As guests arrived it set the tone and her work did not disappoint.
We could not have made a better choice. Working with Yvonne was an absolute pleasure. She is extremely personable, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a florist who truly knows their craft.

Yvonne was amazing throughout my wedding planning process. She made it to my walk-through appointment, did my draping as well and provided me with a beautiful wedding color palette for flowers and decor. She took my vision of my preferred color palette like ice blue and a bright color and made all the decor beautiful. I couldn't believe they were real flowers. I also was on a budget and she took care to make me comfortable with whatever I chose. She coordinated with my many vendors to ensure great detail for my wedding. She also was very sensitive to a cultural wedding and provided me with candles as well as recommend petals for our altar (for a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony). I can't recommend her enough! -

2022 Spring Wedding
Working with YJ Decorating was truly an amazing addition to our big day. From pre-planning to the big day, we felt supported! We booked in 2021 after having to move our wedding date due to COVID and we were thankful to receive such accommodating service in a time of uncertainty. The day of is super crazy and everything was delivered on time and the team even pivoted to help at the church due to our large wedding party! Set up at our venue was everything we could have asked for. We were taken in to see our venue before everyone got in and we were in awe! Above and Beyond!
Amazing! The floral arrangements were breathtaking! Beautiful beyond our expectations. But that is not why we consider Yvonne and her team exceptional - they are truly there to help ensure all goes smooth and according to your wishes. The day of our wedding, we received a torrential downpour of rain right when the guests were arriving. With no overhang at our venue (Victoria in the Park), Yvonne offered to have one of her team members help the guests inside with her umbrella- definitely not in her job description, but what a show of character! We very much appreciated the gesture, and while that really should have been the venues responsibility, YJ Decorating stepped up and took care of our guests. Above and Beyond! Highly recommend Yvonne and her team for all of your floral needs- they do not disappoint!

The best decision you can make for your wedding is hiring YJDecorating as your florist. I can't say enough good things about the team; they are extremely kind, helpful in guiding clueless brides (like me!!!), and were beyond respectful of my budget. The team held a few preliminary calls with me to make sure we were nailing down exactly what I wanted - I didn't have a great vision, but I shared a few Pinterest photos, and we worked through every single detail to make sure they would deliver what I was looking for. They also showed me examples of what they had done in the past for inspiration to make sure they delivered what I wanted. Let me tell you; YJ delivered above and beyond what I ever could have imagined. They fulfilled my vision beyond what I could have expected. Everything from the ceremony (chuppah for Jewish weddings) to the escort card table to the reception tables was gorgeous and looked so amazing in the space. The team was beyond helpful and chipped in with my hair when it was windblown and fluffed my dress walking down the aisle. I also dropped off a lot of my personal items for the wedding to their warehouse, and they were able to set up everything up for me (such as table numbers, signage, etc.). You will be extremely happy with your florals if you go with YJ; they are in the business of making couples happy and want to make your wedding as beautiful as possible. I wish I could hire them again! -

Yvonne is absolutely incredible. We had a big wedding and by the time we reached discussion about floral, I was all out of the energy to make choices. She asked me some basic, but pointed questions, took in my pinterest images and independently created a gorgeous display that I'm still receiving compliments about.
Effortless to work with, gives you the best bang for your buck , amazing at reproductions. Also: Most people don't think about this much, but often flowers you may request in sample images might be out of season or simply unavailable regionally. Where Yvonne truly shined was her ability to replace flowers in my example bouquet with available blossoms that perfectly matched the feel and color scheme requested.
Easily, by a grand margin, the best vendor we worked with. I had no worries, we didn't exchange a thousand emails. She just listened very closely, reassured me that it would be fine, I trusted in her vision and it was simply perfect.
Additionally, she attended the wedding to supervise and it truly felt like such a gift to have her there. Wedding days are very anxious events and seeing the people who helped to put it together waiting at the ready to fix any small blunders is... absolutely priceless.
I would recommend her for any large event. -

Great florist!
Yvonne and team did such an amazing job bringing our floral and decor vision to life! We were looking to bring elegant and romantic vibes in our ceremony and reception spaces through several candles, roses, and eucalyptus greenery - YJ Decorating absolutely nailed it! We met with Yvonne a couple times to walk through exactly what we wanted, and she did a great job showing us examples of work she has done in the past to make sure she fully understood our vision.
From the bouquets, to the statement piece at our head table, everything was absolutely beautiful. We had several guests comment on our floral decor and ask which company we used, and Yvonne went above and beyond on our wedding day. She even assisted my sister in bustling my dress after the ceremony! Would definitely recommend working with YJ Decorating! -

YJ Decorating created the most beautiful, breathtaking aesthetic for our wedding. From the moment we began to communicate our vision, YJ transformed our dream into a reality. We wanted something unique, dramatic, refined, and sexy -- specifically learning towards a Phantom of the Opera theme for our masquerade-style wedding on Halloween eve. Our venue was transformed into a presentation of elegant gold candelabras, luscious and full of black magic roses, creams, and foliage, with classic crystal candles on alternating tables. But what knocked it out of the park was an original creative piece designed by YJ from scratch. This masterpiece was a cascade of black magic roses, flowing out of a crystal chandelier, and twined into an arch framing our sweetheart table. This stunning focal point was presented in front of theatrical pinned drapery, again – highlighting the elegant, dramatic look and giving to the Phantom of the Opera theme.
We didn’t know what to expect as we began the floral/décor process for our wedding. However, YJ Decorating was responsive and strived to create exactly what we had envisioned within our budget. To do this, YJ had built on our ideas by asking questions and presenting visual options to understand, clarify, communicate, and capture our dream. And they were successful! We highly recommend YJ Decorating for your floral décor needs. You won’t be disappointed! -

Yvonne- I literally have no words. I am going to copy and paste this review on all websites/Yelps/Googles, because I cannot imagine recommending anyone except her. We were a COVID couple with three different wedding dates. My budget wasn't the smallest but it wasn't anything crazy either. I met Yvonne and was in LOVE- told her my budget right away, she was ALWAYS there to answer a question. She was honest with what we would get for the budget we had, and she made it RAIN! She had a solution for everything. Our budget didn't allow for the flowers we wanted on 19 tables plus head table, so she offered these beautiful thin, long, clear candlesticks (not the old, passe candelabras), and had 8 on each table. She showed me where I could save money and just her creation and passion is amazing. I'm sure all of the staff there is wonderful, but she truly made me feel special. So special, that she was able to be there on the day of my wedding. I have truly never worked with a vendor like her, and I have been in the wedding industry for quite a few years. She will be my only recommendation to all of my brides, fundraisers, and galas.
Go with her if you like honesty and want your vision to come to life... and if you don't have a vision, she will give you so many ideas- you will not be disappointed.

Our venue cancelled 4 weeks before our wedding and we had to scramble to find another one, YJDecorating was very understanding and super flexible with all their timelines, it was a very stressful time trying to change the entire event and of course decor so I'm very happy we were working with them as they went above and beyond to help us and assure us of the new decor just a week before the big day. We would definitely recommend this vendor for your wedding. -

YJDecorating did the flowers for our wedding last month. It was an excellent experience. In particular, Yvonne and her staff did 3 things that really impressed us:
1. Budget.
When we gave her our budget, she took it seriously. We never felt pressured to increase the budget and we never felt like we were being upsold. She worked very hard and VERY creatively to stay within our budget, even as our plans changed.
2. Floral design.
The arrangements were truly a work of art. The craftmanship and attention to detail was evident even in the simplest pieces.
3. Went above and beyond.
On the wedding day, Yvonne went above and beyond to help make the day special. In the hectic rush, she helped my wife bring the wedding dress upstairs to the bridal suite. Then later as she was pinning on my boutonniere, she noticed that my collar & bowtie were crooked and helped me fix them. These and a dozen other “little” acts of kindness made it clear she really cared about helping us.

First I want to start with working with Yvonne was a breeze! She was super responsive, extremely transparent, and a pleasure to work with. When I first met with Yvonne I had no idea what I wanted and she was incredibly patient and flexible to help me achieve what I envisioned within my budget. After spending countless hours face to face and sending loads of messages, a lot of what we had originally planned had to be scrapped due to changes with COVID. Yvonne was by far THE MOST understanding and flexible out of all of our vendors and worked with us to update our order, change our venue, date, time, etc. She was so understanding and supportive through the entire process and we were so happy that floral was one less thing to stress over.
YJDecorating absolutely nailed my bouquet and I couldn't have been happier! The corsages and boutonnières were exactly what we had asked for and she even brought a backup boutonnière for the groom. Not even a week before our wedding I asked Yvonne to add small centerpieces for the tables and she delivered, no problem! She even brought left over flowers and decorated the base of our cake/pictures tables.

Excellent Service
Used YJDecorating for a special surprise 1-year wedding anniversary dinner for two (my husband and I, Bc you know, COVID). Shared my vision with her on one quick call and she returned promptly with a reasonably priced, spectacular quote that captured the romantic night perfectly.
Very responsive and was able to make modifications, procuring anything I needed. Went above and beyond to execute the night, and acted as event coordinator with other vendors so that I could focus on getting ready and surprising my husband.
Exceptional service, stunning vision and the easiest and best customer service I’ve received from an event decorator. Will be using her again. -

My husband and I hired YJDecorating for our recent wedding at Garfield Park Conservatory. Because the venue itself is stunning, we wanted simple, yet tasteful decorations that consisted of lots of candles and a large wooden arch. To say that YJDecorating delivered is an understatement. After speaking with owner Yvonne Polenc, we chose large floating candles-used for both the ceremony and reception- and a beautiful, rustic wooden arch that was built on site with gorgeous greenery. My guests are still raving about how lovely everything was! While we only hired YJDecorating for the decorations, Yvonne and her team didn’t stop there. My brother somehow failed to deliver on his role as the lead organizer so Yvonne stepped up to the plate without even being asked and took over like the boss that she is! The extra details that her team assisted with did not go unnoticed, and we couldn’t have been more grateful.
When you hire the right people for your wedding, the stress level completely disappears. Throughout the few months leading up to my wedding, my friends and family often commented on how calm I seemed, and that’s because I hired the right team. Words can’t really express how deeply grateful we are to YJDecorating for all the work they did to ensure our special day was phenomenal! -

Aside from the circle arch I wanted for my ceremony, I knew very little else about what I wanted when I began working with Yvonne. It was through her thoughtful ideas and guidance that led to creating a classic look that enhanced the venue and complemented my dress so well.

Beautiful, affordable wedding decor
Working with Yvonne and her team on our reception decor was such a great experience! I didn't know exactly what I wanted at our first meeting, but her breadth of experience in this business allowed her to ask good questions and walk me through various options until we'd landed at a place that fit my style and my budget. She was responsive throughout the process and did an amazing job setting up day-of. We got so many compliments on how warm and classy and glowy the reception space looked (lots of candles, greenery, etc. to warm up a wintery Chicago evening). She also did the flowers for our ceremony, which turned out exactly as envisioned. I don't have professional photos back from our photographer yet, but I'll upload a few to this review once I do! -

YJDecorating was the perfect choice for my wedding day decor! From my first meeting with Yvonne I knew I had to have her! She was so knowledgeable and she immediately got the look I was going for. Yvonne was fantastic for our Indiana-American wedding! We had two different ceremonies and she worked to develop flowers and decorations that could be "flipped" to use at both ceremonies and then at the reception. This saved us money but allowed it to look like totally different events. The flowers were beautiful and we were thrilled with the product and the experience. -

Yvonne was such a joy to work with. I know nothing about flowers (or really about any plants at all), but she was able to turn the vague description of what I had in my head in to reality! I remember walking in to my venue once it was decorated and thinking WOW! She was also great to work with on our budget, giving us a variety of options for each aspect so we can decide our priorities, and where to best put our money within the package. Would recommend her to anyone! -

First off, you can't beat her prices, and she is such a personable and friendly person that seemed to truly care about us having a great wedding day. My wedding was on the hottest day in Chicago and the flowers held up perfectly through out the day. All of the centerpieces were absolutely elegant and perfect for my theme. The flowers she designed were absolutely beautiful and perfect for my wedding. I was planning a very last minute, family-only ceremony and needed to get a bouquet and boutonnière, and Yvonne responded right away. I met with her at her offices, and she helped me pick the perfect flowers for a winter wedding in Chicago. Not only that, but she was kind enough to drop them off at my nearby apartment so that I didn't have to rush around the morning of my wedding! She is so kind and warm and sweet, and most of all she does a gorgeous job on the flowers! I highly recommend!
