Our experience with Yazz Events can be summarized as follows: professionalism from beginning to end. Amy was an absolute standout amongst the vendors we dealt with for our wedding. Amy was communicative, engaged, and always invested in the outcome. Amy went above and beyond to be available to answer questions in a timely fashion. Her commitment to making the event a success was obvious and we truly appreciated Amy's business approach and responsiveness. Amy always followed through and that gave us a high degree of trust that choosing Yazz Events was the right decision for us. Our DJ was Dale and we appreciated Dale's level of detail leading up to the event and for taking the time to have a phone call with us prior to the event to ensure the details were all covered. Dale kept things on schedule and worked well with the other vendors. The Yazz Events' portal also helped arrange the timeline and make the song selection representative of our taste. Amy, thank you so much for being such a pleasure to deal with and for always acting with such a high degree of professionalism. Amazing DJ Service

Highly recommend Yazz Events for your wedding DJ! Amy and DJ Dale were super helpful and communicative throughout the whole process and were able to accommodate all of our requests. The online platform for picking songs and organizing the flow of events is very convenient and user-friendly. On the day of, DJ Dale was super fun and did an amazing job managing the dance floor and keeping it packed the whole night. All of our guests had a fantastic time!

Highlight of our day

Amy & the band were the absolute highlight of our day, and we couldn’t imagine our day without them. From the very first day I contacted her, Amy was quick to respond, so friendly, professional, and organized. She was flexible beyond belief when we kept requesting additions, and everyone else in the industry adores her, too, which speaks volumes. We had a string trio for our ceremony. In attendance, we had two experienced violinists who raved about their performance. For our cocktail hour, we had a quartet do jazzy takes on modern pop songs, which was one of my favorite parts. It elevated the mood and made everything feel so classy! Then for the star of the show, we had heatwave as our dance band and added a horn section. They learned our first dance song and perfectly followed by husband’s cues for when to wind it down. Out of ~100 guests, less than 10% left early. Our dance floor was PACKED from the first to the final song and they did an incredible job of working off of our must plays to craft a set list that was perfectly what we wanted yet was still full of surprises to us. Everyone’s favorite part was the singers coming offstage onto the dancefloor to sing awhile dancing around with us. I’m going to stop, but if you’re reading these snd haven’t booked them yet - do it before someone else does. Any and team, we adore you and could never thank you enough.

Incredible Wedding Music!

Yazz Events did an incredible job for our wedding! Amy and her team were easy to work with through the planning process, and super helpful in answering all of our questions. We had a ceremony piano player, guitarist during cocktail hour, digital photobooth, and DJ Pat for the reception, and they all did an amazing job. The digital photobooth was a last minute addition that we're so happy we included - we were sent the full website of photos our guests took, and it was so much fun going through them all. Highly recommend the Yazz Events team!

"Wow, where do I even begin?! Yazz Jazz absolutely stole the show at our wedding! Their energy, talent, and charisma had every single guest on their feet and dancing the night away. From the moment they started playing, we knew we were in for a treat. Their music was the perfect blend of classic and modern, and they played all the right tunes to keep the party going. (and not to mention the stamina of these performers! Holy cow!!!)

But what truly set them apart was their ability to read the crowd and adapt to the mood of the room. They knew exactly when to slow it down and when to bring the house down with an epic dance party. And their performances? Absolutely electrifying! All of the singer's voices were like butter, smooth and rich, but still exciting and full of power! All around, the musicianship was top-notch.

SO HAPPY we hired Yazz Events!

My husband and I are SO HAPPY we hired Yazz Events for our October wedding; each member is extremely talented. For our wedding, we decided to have a string trio for our ceremony, quintet for our cocktail hour, and a DJ for our reception. Amy and DJ Dale helped us every step of the way in planning our music for each part of our wedding; even making music recommendations when we felt lost. They were an absolute joy to work with and I felt like after each meeting/conversation we were always on the same page. This helped decrease our stress level :)

The event portal was user friendly and helped us organize the music and timeline for my event. I cannot say enough positive things about Yazz Events. Amy and DJ Dale were flexible in scheduling meetings, very communicative, and always responsive to any and all questions that we had.

Our guests absolutely LOVED the music and even mentioned that they could tell that we handpicked each and every song that was played on our wedding day. Every song that was played, our guests thoroughly enjoyed. During and after our wedding, we had several guests ask for their contact information, which we gladly provided. We hope to attend future events with you guys performing :)

All in all, Yazz Events is hands down THE BEST entertainment there is! We highly recommend hiring them for any event!

Party on the Dance Floor

Amy was great at working with our budget to achieve our dream. We ended up with a Heat Wave Orchestra band and they were great! They performed the Tarantella and Horah perfectly for our big Italian Jewish wedding. Everyone continues to compliment the band weeks after the wedding. It was a great time!

Amy and Dale at Yazz Jazz are AMAZING! They really listened to us and worked with us on our music selection! Dale played all of the songs we wanted and even threw in some surprises from our childhood. Perfection!!!

My husband and I worked with Yazz Jazz’s band The Experience (12 piece band), working directly with Amy leading up and to our wedding day in November 2022. Amy’s fun and spunky personality made it an absolute pleasure working with her leading up to our big day. She responded quickly to emails/texts or any communications answering any and all of our questions to make sure we felt comfortable. We even had a slight snafu the day of our wedding regarding a vendor delivery on the size of our stage. Amy was flexible and made everything work perfectly, despite the sizing challenges with the stage. The music The Experience produced on our wedding was perfect for our vibe, getting people to dance and left guests saying that it was the most fun and memorable wedding they’ve attended!

We are so happy we had the opportunity to work with Amy and The Experience, and highly recommend to any and all looking for a wedding band!

Dale you were INCREDIBLE!!! Everyone is talking about the music and saying it was the best - most fun and most danceable music ever!!

You and Amy were so prepared and organized and went above and beyond to know who we are and what we liked before the wedding.
That truly came out in the music and the event and we cannot thank you enough.

Even during the hora you reassured me that ”I got this” I was so scared but you definitely helped me get through it and it turned out AMAZING!!!

The band your guests will rave about

We hired Heat Wave via Yazz Jazz for our reception, and the dance floor was packed all night long! What first drew us to the band was that they sing the songs the way you expect to hear them so the guests can sing and dance along to their favorite songs. When we met with Amy, we were sold - she was so organized and had a clear sense of how to make the reception successful and most enjoyable for our guests. She helped recommend a timeline for key reception events (cake cutting, speeches, etc.) and had an online portal that made it seamless for us to request songs that must and must-not be played.

Our favorite part was that my husband was able to play the trumpet with the band during the reception! The guests went wild and it was such a special, fun moment. We also had a guitar during our ceremony, piano player during our cocktail hour, and a DJ for the final hour of our reception. We appreciated being able to book all of this (plus microphones and backlighting) through one vendor for a very fair price!

Yazz Jazz brought the party!

The absolute best time ever! Yazz Jazz brought the party to our wedding day and made it even more special than we could've imagined! Their energy and musical talent was incredible, and the combo of DJ and Band meant there was never a break in the dancing. The song request/wedding schedule website was easy to use, customizable, and a huge help in planning out the night. Amy and DJ Dale were extremely helpful in the planning process and even a few last minute changes that saved the day! Thank you both (and the whole band!) so much for that one. My sister was able to join in singing on stage for a song and rock out with the amazing musicians, which was an awesome bonus and something really special for the whole family. We couldn't recommend Yazz Jazz enough, and wish we could dance the night away again with everyone!! Thank you guys so much!

Dance floor packed from start to finish!

We hired Heat Wave Orchestra (part of Yazz Jazz) as our wedding band and could not be happier with our choice. They were incredibly accommodating from start to finish and even learned a song for us that was near and dear to our hearts. We wanted a band that kept our guests on the dance floor from start to finish and man did we get it! They are amazing musicians and it felt like we were at a concert all night. The best wedding band!

I cannot recommend Yazz Jazz Music & Productions enough!! Our guests RAVED about the band, saying it was the best live music they have ever heard at a wedding. We couldn't agree more. The talent they have in this group is NEXT level and the energy they bring had everyone out of their seats dancing the entirety of the reception!! Their vocalists could S-A-N-G! My husband and I were married at a plant nursery in the suburbs which I know was not the easiest location to set up a large band! Yazz Jazz went on without a hitch and made us feel completely at ease about the whole process. We also had to postpone due to covid and they were extremely flexible and supportive.
We are so glad we went with Yazz Jazz and couldn't imagine having our day be as special if they hadn't been a part of it.

Best night of my life 💕

This band is a must!!! We were so lucky to get Amy and the entire Yazz Jazz for our special night. Yazz Jazz absolutely completed our evening. From the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the dance floor, they kept us going all night.

Yazz Jazz is spectacular. Amy is absolutely amazing at helping you coordinate your evening. Not only is her music knowledge phenomenal, and she knows how to get a room going, but as a person she is an absolute delight. I could not have asked for a more magical event.

Our guests feet still hurt from dancing all night !!

Amazing Music!

We used Yazz Jazz for our recent wedding in September and we were so pleased with the music they provided! The string quartet during our ceremony went above and beyond to make that portion of the day so beautiful! They learned a special song just for the bridal processional. We also used a DJ for our after party and he was great at keeping the party going with a nice mix of old and new songs! We highly recommend them for any event you may have!

Perfect addition to our night

Blown away by yazz jazz and the heat wave orchestra!

We cannot thank Amy, Brooke, and the entire Yazz Jazz group enough for making our wedding so spectacular. We had to reschedule original date in 2020 due to Covid, and Yazz Jazz could not have been more understanding and helpful to secure themselves for our new date. Amy and Brooke were always available to answer questions and help with song selection and setup leading up to the big day. Best band ever!!!!!

Just had Yazz jazz at our wedding last weekend. It started with meeting Amy to go over specifics. From there forward it was nothing but an exceptional experience. From the ceremony music, to cocktail hour to the dancing after dinner. It was everything we imagined and more. The dance floor was never empty!! They were sooooo good. There is not one negative thing we can write. They were attentive, professional and most importantly so much fun and so talented They sounded so perfect for so many songs the guests commented that they couldn't tell it was a band it sounded so much like the artist. If you have the chance go Yazz jazz!!! Amy was amazing to work with. Her voice is beautiful and she is so fun.

Absolutely Incredible! Memorable!

Yazz Jazz Music and Production made my dreams come true. I grew up playing the violin for many years and it just seemed so perfect to have a violinist and cellist play for our wedding day. I told my husband years ago, while attending another wedding as a guest (that also had a violinist at their wedding), I would love to have that at our wedding some day. When it came down to it, our plans changed so many times from our original wedding day, we were in search for a duet (a violin and cello) for our ceremony. The music was so beautiful and the musicians did an amazing job. Amy ran the business side and communications. She was so professional and responded to my questions and late night emails, almost instantly (in minutes). Exceptional Music to fit Every need

We were referred to Amy Yassinger of Yazz Jazz through our wedding photographer, and our long search was immediately over. We wanted an intimate experience for a smaller 80-person wedding, with music that would not only accent our special day, but definitely get everyone dancing.

From the very beginning, Amy helped us plan every step, from the prelude music, to the happy hour ensemble to dinner, and ultimately the ceremony and dancing. Amy tailored the musicians and music to our own personal needs, size of venue and our clergy, even helping us get the sound system just right from beginning to end. We were offered a range of musicians and singers, and given the choice to select our own songs.

To get started, we described our needs for our day, and our musical preferences. Amy skillfully matched her musicians to our desires. She kept in touch, coordinated with our venue and vendors seamlessly, and exceptionally delivered. Our music was spectacular from beginning to end, and all delivered within our budget. We had quiet moments during dinner, yet when we wanted the dancing to begin, it did.

One of the greatest compliments from our guests was how nice the music was during dinner. It set the mood. but also allowed our guests to connect and converse at the same time. We highly recommend Yazz Jazz, and for a wide array of functions and events.

Amy will make your entertainment the highlight of your day!

Amy and YazzJazz Entertainment were a dream for our wedding! We chose YazzJazz because it’s a one stop shop for all of your entertainment needs! We knew we wanted live music and a DJ for our wedding, and YazzJazz can make anything you dream up happen. We had strings (Violin and Cello) for our ceremony, a jazz trio with Amy singing for cocktail hour, and DJ Dale for the reception. DJ Dale was AMAZING. He was thorough during our planning meeting, making sure every dance, speech, and special moment was covered. The day of he found us to quickly confirm everything was still correct. He was able to play a little of everything we wanted, old classics, country, and throwback R&B music. The way he mixed everything together to flow was amazing. Everyone had such a great time. Due to COVID, we had to decrease our guest list by about 200 people. We reached out to Amy to see if she could help us live stream our ceremony, and of course she pulled through! She set us up with Mike, who was able to find a way to get internet in a rural area, live stream our event on Youtube with high quality video and sound, multiple camera angles, and it turned into a recording right after so we could watch our live stream on our mini-moon! Amy and her team are true rock stars and we cannot thank them enough for making our day perfect. The communication was always amazing with Amy and her team. Amy even went out to our venue to check out the internet situation ahead of time to make sure everything would run smoothly. You can tell she really cares about her business and her clients and it shows through her work. I can’t recommend Amy and Yazz Jazz enough. You will not regret booking them! Do it!

Stellar!!!!!

I have had the absolute pleasure of working with the beyond amazing Amy Yassinger (owner/stellar performer!!) at various weddings, many times. She exudes total professionalism but with a cool looseness that is crucial in making EVERYONE...on the big day, feel at ease. This not something that is taught or can be learned. It's the secret sauce/formula that cannot be faked. Of course she and her killer performers tear it up entertainment wise! Weddings are indeed so fun...but, if you do not know what you are doing and do not exude that rare vibe that people can latch onto...you do NOT last long in this business. Amy is a seasoned vet and just has that special quality that puts her and her company on a much higher scale.

Yazz Jazz is perfection!

Due to the pandemic, our wedding vision has to dramatically change, but the one thing to stay constant was the helpfulness that Yazz Jazz provided to us. Pre-Covid, we were just having Yazz Jazz provide our ceremony music as well as our cocktail hour music because their musicians are amazing. But because of Covid, we had to cancel our band and asked Yazz Jazz to also play during our luncheon and we were not disappointed. Our intimate day was made even more beautiful by Yazz Jazz. Also, Amy was so pleasant to work with and so helpful. She put many of our stresses at ease. I would hire Yazz Jazz over and over again! They were perfect!

She works with any budget to make your musical needs met for your event. She treats her clients like they are her friends, trying her best to work with any obstacles that could come in the way. BEST BAND & DJ IN CHICAGO. Stop, look no further, and BOOK! I have been to wedding after wedding and this band ROCKED MY WEDDING. They had 225 people dancing till 1am! Everyone adored them and their talent is off of the charts! They are a dream to work with and so thorough. They make sure every wish you want comes true. Amy is a gem and is there to make your day shine. I couldn't recommend them enough and wish I could see them weekly to dance to my favorite cover songs. Their talent is just outstanding and you will never find a better band who will work with your budget and give you the quality they gave us. 10/10!

AMAZING musicians! Must have for any wedding or event!

I cannot even begin to express how amazing Amy, JC, and the entire Yazz Jazz Band was. We were lucky enough to have a jazz trio for cocktail hour who were amazing, not over powering with the smaller ceiling space for cocktail hour. JC was our MC and DJ and kept the entire night flowing during dinner and speeches. Amy and the entire Yazz Jazz band blew our our socks off! They were so much fun and kept all 300 of our guests dancing all night! JC was able to close out our night with my vision of how I wanted the wedding to end. It was SO much fun! Our guests are still talking about how amazing the music was!! Thank you Amy, JC, and the entire band! Each musician is so talented, fun and professional! Thank you Yazz Jazz! We loved you all!

Absolutely Amazing

Yazz Jazz were absolutely amazing performers at our wedding! They were high energy, mixed songs like champs, and kept the dance floor packed the whole night. All of the musicians blew us away! Afterwards, everyone could not stop raving about how amazing the band was.

Amy was amazing to work with throughout the planning process, and made everything so easy. She took the time to get to know us and our music tastes, and the songs they played were spot on! I can't speak highly enough about Yazz Jazz!

I have never danced so much in my life!!

Yazz Jazz was a phenomenal vendor for our wedding!
The music lineup was composed and setup well, I have never danced so much in my life. Too much fun. The dancing was a highlight for many of our guests and it will be something I will remember forever :)

We chose to go with the DJ service, which was Dale, and he was great! Not only did Dale perform well on our wedding night, but he was so comforting before and during our big day. We had a call with Dale the week of the wedding and literally my then Fiance said "OMG I am so relieved and less stressed because he is going to take care of us." And boy did he! Numerous times throughout the night he was checking in and calming us down (LOL).

No complaints whatsoever. The cost was competitive to other DJ services we looked into and it was worth every penny.

I say all of this, but it would not be possible without the owner of Yazz Jazz, Amy! She also was great throughout the whole process and she even followed up after!

You will not be disappointed

From the moment I spoke with Amy I knew that Yazz Jazz was our band!! She was super professional and addressed all of our needs and concerns! We customized our music with the first half as Jazz and the second half more acoustic with vocals and it was FABULOUS!!! Very different from your traditional wedding music. We dreamed of live music and this far exceeded our expectations!!!

Could not have been happier!

Amy and her team at Yazz Jazz were absolutely phenomenal to work with. Amy worked with us every step of the way to figure out what we wanted and come up with a plan to use both live music and a DJ for various parts of the wedding. Working with the same company for both options meant that everything was coordinated seamlessly the day of the wedding.

Amy was so organized throughout the process, had a great online planning tool, and even made a trip to see us on her way from another wedding, so that we could meet in-person. We knew going into the weekend that we were in good hands. The music added so much to our day. The live music during our cocktail hour and dinner created the perfect ambiance, and the DJ had the dance floor packed the entire night. We couldn't have been happier with how flexible, helpful, and talented Amy and her team were!

Amazing!!!

Yazz Jazz was amazing for our wedding; we couldn’t have asked for anything better! The dance floor was full all night long and everyone kept telling us how great the band was. Amy was super helpful in helping us organize our songs and was also a great emcee for the day. She also helped arrange our first dance song since we made a few changes and it was so perfect! I would definitely recommend using Yazz Jazz for your wedding or any important event!

No other way than Yazz Jazz!

Amy and the crew were an ABSOLUTE blast! My family is not about dancing but all of us can surely talk your head off! That being said I knew we needed something incredible to get my family on the dance floor instead of standing around talking all night!

We met Amy at a wedding expo and right away I knew she was our answer!

From the start it was all about Us and our wedding. She wanted to get to know our personalities and Our music tastes! When we were left unsure she can rattle off suggestions instantly and suggest what she has seen to draw in the crowd!

Yazz Jazz knows what they are doing from start to finish. Our dance floor wasn't empty at all for the whole night! I'm 100% positive Yazz Jazz grew a fan club just within one night alone!

My guests "Fan girled" over them the whole next day and every day since!

Get up and dance to the music

If you are looking to have a great time- Yazz Jazz is where it’s at!! Music is a huge part of my life and my families life. When my mom and I went to see them play at a local showcase, we barely sat down because we kept dancing. After our initial meeting with Amy, it was pretty clear that Yazz Jazz was the way to go. Amy’s organized and down to earth personality- not to mention her killer vocals... we were sold.

I told my fiancé that we had booked a band for the wedding and he seemed excited but he had yet to see them so his excitement did not match mine. When we were lucky enough to see them again at another showcase, Brian was floored at the talent, as well as their ability to get people on the dance floor.

Amy stayed in contact with us touching base regarding schedule and song choices. I always felt like I knew what was going on. Her main goal was to make sure the night was what we wanted.. and boy was it. Yazz Jazz helped us throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour and to keep the reception flowing. My favorite part of my wedding day was being surrounded by my friends and family with my new husband on the dance floor. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of musicians to help us celebrate the big day. If you are lucky enough to book Yazz Jazz for the big day, you will not be disappointed.

A fantastic band that will give you a musical performance to fit the wedding of your dreams!

Amy was an absolute pleasure to work with and will bend over backwards getting everything you want to make the music the best part of your wedding (aside from marrying the love of your life). They are the best!

In planning my daughter’s wedding, I approached Yazz Jazz Music and Production to provide musical entertainment. It was the best decision I could have made! The DJ (Dale - an extreme professional at his craft) not only provided musical contributions, but also served as the evening’s MC who kept the whole evening right on schedule! Everyone was too busy dancing and having fun to worry about when it was time to cut the cake, when it was time for the first dances, when it was time to do this or that – but Dale kept things moving! MEANWHILE, never once was the dance floor empty because of Dale’s excellent song selections!

Additionally, Amy Yassinger was in constant contact with us from the beginning planning stages right up to the service and reception. She was available to us throughout the entire process as well as the day of the wedding.

I couldn’t be more grateful and appreciative of Amy Yassinger and the services provided by Yazz Jazz Music and Productions! 5 STARS!

Elegant and Moody Fall Farm Wedding

Yazz Jazz is perfect! Amy is so professional and incredible to work with throughout the entire process. We loved them at our ceremony and reception. Music was so important to us and it made me so happy that people kept commenting on how great our band is and the range of music they played. Game of thrones, Beyoncé, Ava Maria, you name it! They learned and played every song I asked and added so many great ones of their own. Amy even gave us a card and a gift!!! Holy smokes! So kind and really great price. You will not be disappointed.

We love Yazz Jazz!

I could go on and on about Yazz Jazz! From the moment we met Amy, I knew we were in good hands with Yazz Jazz. We were invited to a show case to select our DJ. Amy and DJ David were so responsive and reliable! They did an amazing job and made our day absolutely perfect! Our venue had 3 rooms that the DJ needed to flip between and everything transitioned so smoothly! David kept everyone dancing all night and many of our guests told us it was the most fun wedding they have ever been to! I love that Amy checked in with me during the wedding day to make sure I was happy with how everything was going. We love Yazz Jazz!

I want to get married again to have Yazz Jazz perform

1000/10 all across the board for Yazz Jazz Entertainment. We first met Amy at the Stan Mansion open house. We got the pamphlet, scheduled a date to meet and from that point moving forward, we knew we were going with Yazz Jazz. We met with Amy pretty early in the process and told her the vision for our Tim Burton wedding and the group delivered beyond our expectations. My husband's only rule was "we can't hire the DJ unless he knows who Bassnectar is." She facetimed JC during our meeting and it was final - bride wanted band .. groom wanted DJ .. and everything fell perfectly into place. If you're on the fence because of money, please allocate the appropriate amount of your budget to hire Yazz Jazz because it will be worth every.single.penny.

Wedding month - She drove all the way to Logan Square to attend the walkthrough for the venue... in Chicago rush hour... Instant nomination for sainthood. She met with us the following week to finalize songs, special dances and requests, and the timeline of the day. Short notice we realized the timeline was bumped up a 1/2 hour and no problem, they still delivered and extended the set.

Wedding day - The DJ nailed everyone's name, even the hard-to-pronounce Polish maid of honor, and the entire ballroom was on their feet for our entrance. JC read the room and ensured people we're having a great time. During our dinner, he played Danny Elfman music from Burton movies. He helped execute our theme to the t. Short notice, my dad and I cancelled our dance and no one would have noticed because the transition was so seamless. The opening song, Let's Get It Started, packed the dance floor and it continued to stay packed the entire night. Everyone loved Yazz Jazz and we've heard multiple couples already mention they want them for their wedding. All of the vocalists were engaged with the audience. Originally, since I am Team NSYNC, I nixed the backstreet boys medley. Amy triple checked with me that it was okay to play and out of the respect of my bridesmaid (who breathes BSB) I agreed. They killed the BSB medley and let the bridesmaid sing a line. It was perfect (and later balanced out by NSYNC songs). The band was dancing and on the floor with us the entire night. The performance was incredible.

Amy was so helpful throughout the planning process. She recommended multiple vendors, met with us multiple times, responded to every single text, email, and phone call. Her work ethic is astounding. At one point she was even helping rip open glow stick packaging for our exit. If Amy wasn't there, our day would have felt incomplete.

The amount of effort that Yazz Jazz puts into making your big day perfect is priceless. We cannot thank them enough.

Yazz Jazz is AMAZING!!!!!!!!

We saw YazzJazz at a wedding a couple years ago and they were absolutely amazing. My (now) husband and I decided before we even got engaged that we were going to book them. Soon enough, we got engaged in February of 2017 and booked them right away. Amy was nothing short of amazing since then. She was easy to work with and helped provide us with so many different ideas on how to create the "stage" of the wedding. Our main goal was to have all of our guests on the dance floor...and to say the least, every single person was on the dance floor that night. Friends of mine who normally don't dance, were out there busting a move! Amy, Isaiah and the rest of the 7 piece band exceeded our expectations. Nothing beats having the 3 vocalist out on the dance floor with us and dancing the night away. My dream wedding was met and exceeded with the help of yazz jazz! I consider them life long friends!

Best Wedding Band In Chicago!

We were lucky enough to book Yazz Jazz for our August 2018 wedding in Chicago. We got married at the University Club and had a very formal wedding, and having a huge band really capped off the evening perfectly. They had the dance floor packed from the first song til the last, and our guests even begged for an encore (which they happily played!) They were nothing but professional through the whole planning process. Their online tool to help plan music was so helpful and easy to use. We were able to have input in the songs we did want to hear and the songs we didn’t want played. They crafted an amazing set list and let us hand pick the songs the DJ played during their breaks. People could not stop raving about how great the band was. Brooke is simply incredible, it has been three months and people are still talking about how amazing her voice was. You would be making a mistake to not book Yazz Jazz for your wedding or event, the dance floor was packed the entire evening. If you want a non-stop party book this band! 😊

Amy is amazing! So professional , so kind , and so accommodating! She truly works with you to understand your needs and desires for your wedding day. Thank you Yazz Jazz Entertainment for everything you've done! This company is so easygoing. A week before our wedding we talked with our DJ, David, and went over the final details. On my wedding day, I was on the dance floor all night, even when we had our midnight snack, pizza! David played all kind of music. We had oldies, Polish, hispanic, modern, and so much more.
We also had a harpist, Laura, during cocktail hour. Unfortunately I wasn't there for long to hear her play. I did hear a few songs and many guests said she did a lovely job!
Lastly, Amy, the owner, was amazing. Right from the start she understood what we wanted and didn't want to hear. Very reasonable! When it was time for payments you can do it through Venmo, send it through mail, or meet in person. If you do meet in person, she will go out of her way to meet you somewhere that's convenient for you. The last time we met with her in between her work, which is so nice, and our home.
Overall, a friendly, understanding, and reasonable staff. Thank you for everything!

We are beyond thrilled to have chosen Amy and Yazz Jazz for our wedding band. We received so many compliments from our guests that the band was amazing, and dancing was a highlight of the evening. She and another vocalist came onto the dance floor at one point and it was SO MUCH FUN. Amy and her group were great at reading the crowd and playing to the mood – this included playing a blend of songs we had suggested, avoiding songs we had requested not be played, and adding some of their own selections. One aspect of Yazz Jazz I really appreciated is they looked happy while playing and seemed to be having a good time! Amy was easy to contact throughout the planning process, and it was great to talk through our timeline/song choices before the event to make sure we were on the same page. We absolutely recommend Amy and Yazz Jazz!

My husband and I booked Yazz Jazz for our wedding in Milwaukee, and we could not be happier with our decision. Amy completely eliminated any stress related to the entertainment aspect of our big day. She’s genuinely invested in making your day special. She learned a song that my mother in law requested for the mother and son dance and absolutely rocked it! But most importantly the dance floor was packed the entire night. I personally only left the dance floor to refill my drink lol! I had guests, and still do, telling me that my band was amazing. I know live music is a little more expensive than a DJ, believe me, my husband and I went back and forth on this, but it was money well spent. People don’t remember chair covers or what they ate, they remember the experience and Amy and Yazz Jazz made it a night I’ll never forget. Amy and the Yazz Jazz crew were amazing! We were hooked after seeing one of their showcase venues that they hosted. We booked shortly after that first showcase and almost 2 years before our big event. Amy was super attentive and responsive throughout the entire process and even worked out a few special request songs for us. It has been over 2 weeks since our reception and I still have people calling and telling me how much fun it was to have a live band at our wedding and how great the band was! I would not hesitate to spend that money again or to call Amy up for any future events (Which my wife is already trying to figure out ways to have the band perform again, lol) Yazz Jazz is money well spent, great group of people, super attentive, accommodating and TOP NOTCH service on your big day.

Have to give a shout out to our favorite DJ JC as well who brought the house down between sets and for the last hour of our event!

Throughout the process, we met with Amy several times to make sure we were on the same page about the vibe we were going for at our reception. Amy and her team were truly amazing to work with. You can tell immediately that Amy takes pride in her work and that she values getting to know couples on a personal level to tailor their services to their particular style on the day of their wedding. Amy met with us in person initially and described in detail how their services work and all of the options we could choose from. We quickly decided to go with them for their professionalism, ease of communication, price and clear expertise in the field. Amy worked to find us musicians to play during our ceremony for the songs of our choosing. We chose untraditional music and wanted to stick with two musicians rather than three to stay within our budget and Amy was able to make it work. The musicians were simply amazing and made our ceremony so special. Amy also came to the venue for a walk-through to ensure that she knew where to set up all of the equipment on the day of. A few weeks before our wedding Amy took us out to dinner with our DJ for the reception in order for us to get to know each other in addition to the extensive online personalization tools they have available. It was great getting to know JC (our DJ) and having the opportunity to talk to him about the vibe for our wedding. We have very eclectic taste in music and know that what we like may not be the music that’s going to get everyone dancing -- JC was able to keep our “vibe” while ensuring that our guests were on their feet dancing the entire night! It was such a fun party and JC can clearly “read the room” because he knew exactly what to play to keep the party going strong. We highly recommend Amy, Yazz Jazz, JC and their entire team.

Yazz Jazz was great for our wedding! All the way from the planning process to the execution of the big day, Amy was incredible to work with. She was kind and willing to do whatever was needed to make our big day special. Yazz Jazz truly catered to us and made every decision easy to make. Their decision making process for music is easy to understand, well organized and fun to do. David, our DJ, was very prepared. He called us to make sure all of the information he had was correct, the order of the reception was set. He was so much fun and kept the energy up the entire reception. The atmosphere he created lasted the entire night and everyone at the reception was dancing. I would recommend Yazz Jazz to anyone and everyone who is looking for DJ entertainment. I loved the word done by Yazz Jazz. Amy and JC are both great to work with! Amy made me feel so special whenever I talked to her. She always listened to what my vison was and made sure to make me feel confident that they would make it happen. She made her self available on my wedding day for anything I needed even if it wasn't related to the DJ aspect. JC goes above and beyond. He made listened to what my husband and I wanted as far as music choices and really made out night perfect. He was great on guiding you through the night when it came to first dances, cake, and getting introduced. The Large white photo booth is definitely worth getting! All of my guests raved about it! there was a consistent line all night long for the photo booth! If I ever needed a Dj service or Photo booth I would automatically go to Yazz Jazz!

Oh YAZZ JAZZ,
You were ALL amazing!!!! We recently got married and booked Yazz Jazz for their Jazz Trio during cocktail hour and DJ Services during dinner and dancing. Let me tell you they exceeded our expectations. During cocktail hour the Trio played seamlessly to Amy's beautiful voice that orchestrated the whole hour. It was great! Everyone loved it!! And seriously JC (our DJ) was sooooo perfect! He made sure all the music we wanted was played and then some. He did a great job getting the crowd to the dance floor and he was very interactive the WHOLE night. It was magical. Thank you Yazz Jazz! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! We had a violinist & pianist for the ceremony, trio for cocktail hour, 9 piece party band, and a DJ. We got so many compliments from our wedding guests and they are still raving about our band! Our dance floor was packed ALL night long. Amy and the Yazz Jazz crew met, then exceeded our expectations. Amy met us in person twice before the wedding and had many phone conversations with us throughout our planning phases. The 11-piece band was comprised of some of the top players and singers in Chicagoland. They met our every song request and even learned a few that the band usually doesn't perform. The dance floor was packed all night with our guests of all ages. We have no doubts about recommending Yazz Jazz to anyone in the future.

I cannot recommend Amy and Yazz Jazz enough! The band absolutely MADE our wedding day. The band played an amazing range of songs, listened to our requests, and really read the room to get EVERYONE on the dance floor. And I mean everyone - we had a really wide range of guests, and the one consistent praise we've gotten was how amazing the band was.
Beyond an amazing sound, the band is so fantastic to work with. Amy (the band leader) was so responsive every step of the way. She truly listened and saw our vision for the night the way we did. I had a special request for a dance I did with my godfather and my three brothers because my dad passed when I was young; Amy was so sensitive to the situation, and even called me to sing over the phone to make sure the way she was singing the song was exactly what I wanted! Amy also served as MC for our evening, and she really helped the evening move smoothly.
Amy truly cares about the couple and the weddings she performs at - she even brought us water during our receiving line!

Amy and David did my wedding in May of 2016 and they were just amazing. They were very easy to work with and communicate with. Amy and Yazz Jazz were amazing! Amy was more than just the band leader, she ensured that the day ran smoothly and timing was followed. She made sure to meet up with us multiples times before the wedding to set every small detail in place. Her planning put me at ease and provided me with a better timeline for the day than the rest of our vendors.

Amy was absolutely amazing during the whole wedding process. She met with both my husband and I to get to know us, pick out music that would best fit our day and audience and continuous check-in, in case we decide on changing music. She also joined us at our Venue to walk through the whole night, in detail, from where the three piece group would sit, times when we and bridal party would walk in and so on. And Yazz Jazz band was bringing everyone out onto the dance floor. Their energy was heightening the night which you could see on the faces of our guests. Then the DJ came in and blasted our guests with more music to keep them on the dance floor. He and his team did such a great job of mixing up the music from our two different cultures. My husband and I were so pleased with how our special night turned out. I would recommend Yazz Jazz for any all occasions!

Yazz Jazz keeps everyone on the dance floor all night! They are very prompt and organized and genuine people. I recommend Yazz Jazz to everyone! They were able to customize my first dance song to make it extra special for us. Everything we requested was easily granted and if we had to do it all over again, we wouldn't change a thing! Yazz Jazz was absolutely AMAZING for our wedding. We got married at the Harold Washington Library and we hired Amy and the team soon after reserving our date. She was an excellent communicator, very flexible, and really wanted the best for me and my husband on our wedding day. Yazz Jazz ended up providing us ceremony music, cocktail music, and even a blended approach for the reception that was half band and half DJ. JC was our DJ and he killed it! This group is personable and really listens to what you are envisioning and bring that to life. They were incredibly reasonable and best of all, they ensured the music was rocking! Amy and her team at Yazz Jazz were one of the best decisions we made when it came to our Camp Wandawega Wedding. Amy its not only incredibly talented at singing, but also a great communicator and leader of a highly reliable team. I met Amy of Yazz Jazz Entertainment in January of 2016 and instantly fell in love with her personality and professionalism. Planning my May 2017 wedding with Amy was one of the most joyous and honestly, the most pleasant parts of the whole thing. It was like planning a wedding with a best friend who had been through it before. She was there every step and misstep with patience and understanding.

We met a few times to go over details and Amy was always at the ready with suggestions for bridal salons, makeup artists and more. I trusted Amy to select a DJ that would mesh well with our tastes and personalities, and she did NOT disappoint. JC was 5 stars and more. On the day of our wedding, I would have been lost without her. She even helped me pull off a surprise for my husband.

Yazz Jazz Entertainment was unimaginably magnificent. My husband and I love live music and we decided we wanted live music at our wedding and reception. We chose Yazz Jazz because my husband (who works in the hospitality industry) had heard them perform at a previous wedding and said thought they were pretty good. I trusted him and I am so glad I did! From the very beginning, Amy and her team were professional and exceptional! Their experience with weddings and receptions truly shows and they work hard to make the planning process very easy and stress-free. We chose the 7 piece band and DJ package. They provided the music and microphones for the wedding, live music for the cocktail hour, and all of the music for the reception. The band went out of their way to learn several songs and modified some songs that we had requested. I can't say enough about how professional they were, but I can never explain in words their talent. The entertainment they provided was priceless. The quality of their music, sound, and shear breadth of their repertoire was unbelievable. Our guests danced and celebrated the night like we had never expected. We cannot not possibly have had a better wedding and Yazz Jazz truly made it happen.

Amy from Yazz Jazz Entertainment organized ceremony music for our wedding and it was EXCEPTIONAL. I would definitely say that the live music was my favorite part of the ceremony, besides marrying my best friend, of course. :)
Katie & Dorothy played violin and cello before during and after our ceremony. They played a mixture of classical music and modern music which was fun!
Amy was very professional and I couldn't speak more highly of her. She is so sweet, quite the breath of fresh air when you are a nervous bride.

My experience with Yazz Jazz was impeccable. Amy and her team truly made a horrible wedding nightmare turn into a beautiful memory. At the time I was introduced to Amy, my now husband and I were scammed of our money from a wedding venue ( don't worry, it no longer exists!) . We needed to find new arrangements and crunch our budget. Amy and her teams have many different options for many types of budgets. She made me feel comfortable and safe. Making a bride feel safe is hard and she did that for me. She was professional and prompt. Yazz Jazz were a hit at our wedding and people loved them. Yazz Jazz was by far the best decision that we made when it came to selecting our wedding vendors! Amy was very professional and helpful from day one. She was super flexible and allowed us to wait on finalizing our exact package until closer to the date while still holding our date. She was great with helping us pick the perfect DJ for our wedding as well. She was absolutely correct that Dave was a great fit for us!

Dave was amazing to work with as well. He was great about discussing what we were looking for and completely accommodating it. We made a playlist of suggested songs, but ended up telling him that we trusted his judgement. He did an incredible job of reading the crowd and playing each song at the perfect moment. Our guests were raving about the music and he had the dance floor packed the entire night. He even recorded our sparkler exit for us since our videographers had already left for the night!

We had some major issues with our venue right before the wedding due to staff turnover. My fiancé and I were very nervous about how the day would turn out since the venue was such a mess. Amy and Dave came to one of our meetings at the venue and completely took care of everything! They took charge and turned our wedding into the event that we hoped it would be! I truly believe that our wedding would not have been the event that we were looking to have without Yazz Jazz and I cannot thank them enough for their help.

If you are considering using Yazz Jazz, look no further. It was the best decision that we made for our wedding and I would recommend them to anyone!

We can't thank Yazz Jazz and Amy enough for the time she spent with us making sure we had everything we needed on our very special day! Another bonus I didn't expect was how calm Amy was on the day of our wedding. She stepped up and helped make everything go so smooth on this day it helped calm me so much. They also learned our song that was not main stream and the personal changes we wanted to make to it perfect. On the day our first song was perfect!!
Now several months later we still are hearing from our guests about how much they loved the band and they had a great time dancing. Yazz Jazz Entertainment did a spectacular job with the musical aspects of our June 2015 wedding. We had a combination Hindu and American wedding, incorporating ceremonial and musical elements from each tradition. Amy and her team of musicians provided music during our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, and even arranged a DJ to play the last hour of the reception so we could fit in some Bollywood tunes. Amy was a joy to work with in the months leading up to the event, always following up promptly on any questions we had. You need to use Amy and Yazz Jazz for your wedding, and here is why. I am a detail-oriented person by nature with responsibilities for event planning in my career, and Amy matched my needs with her responsive, professional approach to providing amazing music throughout our wedding. Armed with a list of suggested musicians from Hotel Arista / CityGate where our wedding was held, we noticed that Amy and her band were performing at a local restaurant. We went to see them and were hooked with the ability of those three musicians to hold a bar and dinner crowd captive with an admirable array of songs. We booked Amy soon after, increased the number of musicians and then added the Yazz Jazz DJ as well. Along every step of the way, Amy was the consummate professional, helping us refine our plans to create the complete experience we envisioned, and never disappointing with her clarifying questions, prompt responses and fair pricing. We had the ceremony and reception in the same venue, utilizing the patio for the cocktail hour while the facility changed the room over for dinner and dancing. Amy and a keyboardist provided our ceremony music. As we moved out to the cocktail hour, other bandmates seamlessly performed until Amy and the keyboardist could join them. The entire group then transitioned back for our dinner music, until it was the DJ’s turn to take the night. He was as great as the rest of Yazz Jazz – he had everyone from teens to 85 year olds up and moving for hours. We had YazzJazz at our wedding a last May and they were amazing! Amy was so helpful throughout the whole process. She is very quick to respond and communicates consistently with you about what you want. The music was wonderful and we got so many compliments. They went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly, checking out our venue and setting up early. They even accompanied our friend who was able to sing with them for a special song! We love Yazz Jazz and if you're looking for anything from background jazz music to a party, I would contact them soon! :)

Yazz Jazz is absolutely amazing! Amy, the band leader, is wonderful to work with - so responsive to emails and great at keeping track of the details that might get missed. The band itself is incredible! We used the pianist to start with classical music before and during the ceremony. We then transitioned to a 3-piece jazz group during cocktail hour, and then a full 7-piece band during reception. All of the musicians were top quality. The male singer especially was awesome! Amy and I had talked about a song list, but I gave her a lot of leeway in deciding what to play and in what order. Their choices and mix of oldies, classics, and today's pop hits was absolutely perfect. Every guest we talked to raved about the band and music selection. I can't say enough good things about Amy and her group! Amy also did a wonderful job emcee-ing and generally keeping things running smoothly. We did not have a wedding coordinator, but Amy went above and beyond to make sure the day went smoothly! Thank you Yazz Jazz!! If you are looking for a live band, don't look further!!

Yazz Jazz performed for our wedding in May and they were absolutely amazing! First, it was a pleasure to work with Amy to set everything up - so fun and kind and professional. I absolutely love her! Yazz Jazz provided music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - they didn't miss a beat - literally or figuratively ;) Everything flowed seamlessly and there was always beautiful music playing throughout the whole event. Singers (Amy and Brian) and musicians - killed it! They are all top notch, so talented!! In addition to having the band play live music, we also had a DJ (Dave!). He covered while the band ate and also closed out the night after the band's set was done. The dance floor was packed the whole night!! Hiring Yazz Jazz was hands down the BEST decision we made when planning our wedding. All my compliments to Amy and team! I'm so grateful for them!

Words cannot even describe how amazing my experience was with Yazz Jazz but I am going to try. Rewind to some night back in January about 9 months before my wedding, it was the first time I spoke to Amy, immediately every worry and concern melted away and I felt like I was talking to someone I had known for years! She knew exactly what I was going for and that she could help achieve it, then once we started talking prices, I was sold. While dealing with her for the next few months, she was prompt to respond to any emails, and any concerns I had (especially the ones that were because I was an emotional ball of craziness at a few points). They were quickly figured out because Amy has been doing this for a while and I had my full confidence in her. Fast forward to the wedding: they sounded AMAZING, I mean this band freakin rocks. They had men in my family that refuse to dance, on the DANCE FLOOR! My wedding was 3 weeks ago but I am still having people message me on Facebook or call me and say how amazing the band was and it was the best wedding they had been to. They made my wedding! Overall I cannot even say enough good things, I would recommend them to anyone or actually insist on having them as your wedding entertainment! Thanks Yazz Jazz for making my wedding the best!

First, Amy is amazing! She really made me feel comfortable because I was an out of state bride. She was very flexible to accommodate my schedule whenever I was in town. Amy was honest and reliable. When I began my search for a wedding band I learned (from reading many reviews) that just because you see a band at their showcase, doesn't always mean they will ALL be performing at your wedding. Amy promised me at our first meeting (performance), "What you see is what you get!" and she was right. The band was great! My guest loved the music and it was music we wanted to hear and a little extra. We got nothing but compliments from our guest. Yazz Jazz was worth every penny and worth the many debates with my husband. He is so happy that we went with a band and not a DJ. Amy was so great with going over details and even on the day of my wedding. If you want to stand out from other weddings, you have to go with YAZZ JAZZ!

Amy Yassinger of Yazz Jazz is not only a talented singer and musician, she's an excellent businesswoman. She followed up with me regularly, was accommodating, and made great suggestions concerning my ceremony music and instruments. I felt well taken-care-of throughout the whole process. She even came to the venue for the tasting when my (now) husband and I visited from out of town just so that we could talk through options and timing with the banquet manager. The DJ for our reception was also professional and a great MC. She made sure he was on the ball (we had to make sure he had the latest info and song choices). Communicating to her the honors, the timing of the night, and the music choices for the reception was a breeze because of an online program she uses. Very excellent. The best of all? She surprised me by singing my bridal processional song (In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel) along with the guitar and piano. Thanks for everything Amy!!!!!

Yazz entertainment was wonderful! I can't thank them enough for being available at such short notice. My guests had a great time. They were professional and made everything seem so smooth. They played up to date music which was very important. Thank you all!

Amy was absolutely amazing to work with. She was very patient with us and helped us select the right DJ and music for our event. My groom and I had very different tastes in music, but she was able to combine our styles into an event that was fun for everyone. We didn't have a wedding planner, so on the day of the wedding, Amy stepped in and helped with the flow of events. Our wedding went off without a hitch, and I think a large part of that was thanks to Amy and her organization and guidance throughout the day. She is very passionate about music, and it comes through when you work with her. She really cared about our wedding, and went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible day.

Jc is awesome!

JC was awesome. He had so many fun ideas and the turned out great. He is actually doing my sisters wedding in June that’s how much we liked him! Amy was also great to work with. Very professional and will answer you quickly!
