We had a Halloween-themed costume party wedding reception in Woodcrest Manor Mansion on 10/30/10 for approximately 110 guests. I CANNOT say enough good things about our experience. The catering director and event planner, Agnes Randazzo, was a joy to work with. She was very up-front and honest about making sure we didn't have unrealistic expectations but also did everything possible to accommodate all our needs/requests.
We had a cocktail-hour style reception with no real "dinner time". We had various hors d'oeuvres, some at stations- some passed by servers with trays, for the first 90 minutes or so and then opened some additional carving stations and a soup/salad station. Eating was optional for guests. We didn't have long lines of people waiting to eat and the party never stopped for dinner! The staff was fabulous- the food was really really impressive! (We had done a tasting several weeks prior to the event and were even impressed by that!!)
For the bar, we provided beer/wine and two speciality cocktails. The manor provided the bartenders, setup and mixed the cocktails in bulk for easy serving. There was an option to have a full bar but we decided that wasn't necessary for our guests.
The location was perfect for a fall wedding. The manor was decorated beautifully- some done by myself the day before but much by the staff there. I was SO impressed when we arrived and saw everything put together! The Cabrini College campus is BEAUTIFUL! It's not a typical "college". The roads are tree-lined and the mansion is far away from the rest of the academic buildings so you really forget that you're on a college campus. We had many beautiful locations to take pictures before the reception started!
And- I should add, we got all of this fabulousness for probably HALF what we would have spent elsewhere and had a much more unique reception. All in all, a spectacular time was had by all! You will NOT be disappointed!
