We chose Wood Lakeside Events after looking at several beautiful venues. It was not overly lavish, but simple and beautiful. A very natural setting. It catered to the groom as much as the bride. Margaret was easy to work with and she put me at ease. We had a health crisis a month before 2020 got turned upside down and she worked with us moving our date twice. We planned for the dock, but rain moved us to the barn and her staff moved everything up there. The photos & website do not do it justice. Go and walk the grounds, see it with your own eyes. There is a peaceful feeling there that photos just can't capture. The Christophers- July 12 2020 -

I can't say enough about Margaret and her fabulous venue! When I say this place is gorgeous, it is GORGEOUS and AFFORDABLE!!!! TRUST ME WHEN I say this place will not disappoint. We were supposed to get married outside, mother nature decided to make it rain, so it was switched to indoors. And it was BEAUTIFUL! Margaret and her team made it spectacular in no time at all. She is very hands on and best believe she takes care of her brides. If ever you see a movie about wedding and how everything that can go wrong will go wrong? Yea that was my wedding until Margaret and her team of professionals stepped in and SAVED my special day. Margaret is my hero and I will forever love her for what she has done for me. Just ask her to tell my story. Better yet, just talk to her and you will instantly feel confident she is the person you want to work with. Can't say enough GREAT things to say about Margaret or her beautiful venue. Just please check it out. You will not be disappointed! -

So thankful we chose WLE for our wedding venue. Scenery is beautiful and makes for the prettiest pictures, especially the pine tree forrest. Nice spacious bride and groom suites to get ready and hang out in. Amazing rustic luxury barn for the reception with plenty of room for dancing!! Great pricing and has room for tons of guests. Margaret the owner is very organized and willing to help! Definitely recommended WLE a million times over! -

Excellent!
Planning a wedding in the middle of COVID wasn’t really what I had imagined for our day, but Margaret made it THAT much easier to manage. I didn’t leave with her being “the venue lady” I left with her being a friend! She gets to the point, she lets you know what’s necessary and what isn’t (and this goes for things not wedding related.) if you’re searching for the place to get married, then stop looking and do it here!! You will not regret it! Picture locations are amazing, they’re amazing, just stop stressing and land yourself with Margaret. She will help you more than you know! -

Amazing place for our wedding!
Wood Lakeside Event was a wonderful spot for our wedding! It was gorgeous with plenty of places for photo opportunities! Margaret was great to work with and answered any questions we had! Would highly recommend this place for your big day! -

Wood Lakeside Events was beyond the perfect venue for our wedding! Everything here was absolutely everything we wanted in a venue. There’s a beautiful bridal room up top that myself and the girls were able to get ready in the day of the wedding and a cabin on the lake for the men to get ready in. The men had a blast fishing just hours before we said I do! Margaret was such a blessing throughout this entire experience. From the day we met her at the venue until the wedding and after she has been there every step of the way. We even showed up a few months into our engagement for pictures at the venue and our original photographer did not show. Margaret took time out of her day to snap a few pictures of us around the venue that day for us since we were there and all dressed and ready for pictures! She helped me through any questions that we had during planning and was absolutely amazing and helpful in every way! When it came to the day of the wedding she was right there every step of the way. She was going around helping set up, making sure everything was beautiful and making sure that myself and my husband were calm, relaxed, and had everything we needed. Our guests were wowed with how beautiful the venue was and we had multiple people compliment about how much they just loved the atmosphere here and how amazing it was! Margaret’s boys who help out the day of the wedding did phenomenal assisting guest to and from the parking lot on golf carts and just helped all around the day of and were great! The woods on the far side of the lake make the most amazing and breath taking pictures! Our guests really enjoyed having the corn hole games and giant Jenga set up during the wedding which provided other entertainment while the bridal party was taking pictures. These small details that are thought about here are some of the things we just loved as well as our guest! Just all around this venue and Margaret provided us everything and more that we ever could have imagined for our special day! Wood Lakeside and Margaret will always hold a special place in our hearts and if you are wanting a beautiful venue for your wedding or whatever the occasion may be this definitely is your place!! -

I am a little late with my review, but could not let the opportunity go by without writing one!
Probably not enough space to talk about this amazing couple and their amazing venue. Margaret and Dean Wood own Wood Lakeside and are the epitome of professional, accommodating and most importantly patient!
This location is truly a “diamond in the rough” and pictures simply do not do it justice. The property is beautiful from the entrance gate to the swans in the lake. Our first meeting, Margaret immediately put my mind at ease and over the next year made my vision of the perfect day a reality.
No need to worry about time spent researching food, flowers, music, etc. she has a network of vendors many of whom I ended up hiring without the headache of trying to find them myself. Every phone call, and text message was answered without delay and every effort was made to meet with me and my husband even my folks to make sure the finest details were taken care of.
I can not recommend this venue enough and words are not adequate to express my appreciation to Margaret and Dean for making our special day EVERYTHING we wanted.

A dream come true
I had never heard of Wood Lakeside Events and I did not know anyone who had ever been there. My mom, husband, and I absolutely fell in love with the venue when we went to tour. Everything is perfect. The lake and dock made for a beautiful view during the ceremony. My husband and his groomsmen enjoyed the cabin and fishing before the wedding. My bridesmaids and I had plenty of room in our bridal suit. I love that the bridal suit overlooks the entire venue. I could watch my wedding day unfold before my eyes. The barn is detailed and very unique. If you don’t have many decorations, that is okay because the venue is absolutely gorgeous without any additional decorations. I heard several guests complement about the venue. Margaret is very personal and down to earth. She helped with our day in multiple ways and made it everything Jonathon and I could have imagined it would be. Her number one priority was my happiness! I am so thankful I went to tour Wood Lakeside Events. It truly is a venue unlike any other!! -

Everything I wanted and more!!!
Margaret made everything so easy and fun. I didn’t stress about a single thing. The venue is absolutely breath taking and our guests are still telling us how beautiful everything was. -

Evan Sent on 02/27/2018Our wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. We were lucky enough to have a rainy wedding day. Our alternate location for the ceremony was inside the barn and every hiccup was met with a solution. Thankfully, 1 hour before guests arrived the rain stopped and the team at WLE set up the outdoor ceremony space in lightening speed and took care of everything without missing a beat. We didn’t have to worry about a thing. We were also gifted with a beautiful vial of rain water the owner collected from our wedding day with a note saying it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day. The reception in the barn was absolutely perfect. Not a single thing went wrong and all our guests said it was beautiful. Couldn’t be happier!!
