When I look back at our weekend, we had a lot of unexpected things thrown at us...construction, weather, housing issues. All of these things were outside of Ellen and Kaia’s control, but they did an amazing job being with us the whole time and helping us make it the wedding we wanted. For example, the weather at ceremony time was not looking good and we were talking about moving it inside, which broke my heart. Then we got word that there was a small window of good weather. They both could see how much we wanted to have the ceremony outside. They had all 130 of our guests outside in 5 minutes and we had a beautiful outdoor ceremony. That was then followed up by a gorgeous indoor reception. All our guests raved at the food, views, and service.

Exactly what we wanted

Kaia made it easy to get exactly what we wanted. Lunch Rock was perfect; the view was incredible. The food, the service, everything was just right.

Everyone at Winter Park was AMAZING! From shuttle ALL of our guests to and from the Amtrak station to making sure every detail of our day was perfect. I would highly recommend them for any occasion. We heard nothing but great things from our guests!

Couldn't have asked for a better place to have our wedding! Emily and the team at Winter Park exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was excellent and the setting was beautiful. When a surprise snow occurred as the wedding was supposed to begin, Emily and her team did everything they could to ensure it was still a beautiful and memorable event, and it the snow actually made the outdoor ceremony all the more fun and memorable. Can't recommend Winter Park enough for the perfect wedding!

From day one I decided to do the majority of the planning myself, and to hire a day of coordinator to execute on our wedding day. Winter Park Resort seemed to be a dream come true, then, when we heard that the wonderful Emily Jackson was not only the sales manager for events, but also takes over day of coordination on the big day. Emily's wealth of experience, helpful advice throughout and calm, "say yes" approach to all questions/concerns/thoughts/new decorating ideas, put me so at ease from day one and I couldn't be more grateful to her. During our venue search she was the only person that replied to our inquiry and follow up questions quickly, had great energy during our site tour, and seemed genuinely pleased to meet us and to want to help our vision come to life. Not only that, but she helped us plan our rehearsal dinner, welcome party, AND day after breakfast. As for the venue itself, the Lodge at Sunspot is above and beyond what we could have imagined. We wanted to be on-mountain, at an "all in one" venue: nothing to build from the ground up, hotels within walking distance to everything, and amenities galore. Plus, the Resort is a very "Colorado" experience and perfectly showcased our home state to our family and friends - riding the chairlift with my father, in my wedding dress, was a highlight I won't soon forget.

Working with Emily Jackson and her amazing crew to organize & book a wedding at Winter Park was a breeze. Her enthusiasm & energy made planning from a distance effortless. The attention to detail & endless questions were taken care of in a very timely manner. Everything from booking the accomodations to the wedding ceremony went very smoothly. Emily's recommendations for local vendors were spot on. Our guests are still talking about the amazing time they had exploring Winter Park, riding the lifts to the wedding, the great food & hospitality all topped off by a breathtaking sunset. All and all a perfect wedding - thanks!

Laura and I cannot say enough about how happy we were with our experience with Emily Jackson and her team at the Winter Park Resort. From the moment we met Emily, we knew the planning process would be just as enjoyable as the wedding itself. In the months leading up to the wedding, Emily was always available to answer our questions and to help guide us with the wedding details. From vendor selection to travel recommendations, she would always provide a helping hand to ensure we and our guests would have a great experience.

In the days and weeks leading up to the wedding, Emily was on top of all of our details and anticipated questions and concerns before we even asked. When the day of the wedding came, we were as relaxed and ready to have a great time as we could have possibly been. Both Emily and her staff made the day of the wedding truly special and we would recommend anyone looking to get married in the mountains to consider Winter Park Resort.

Again, we had an absolutely perfect experience and have only heard glowing reviews from everyone who was able to attend our wedding.

We had a beautiful wedding at WPR! We had a wonderful time, the staff is great and very accommodating. Everyone commented on the beautiful venue. It was amazing! We're so lucky to have had our wedding at the Winter Park Resort! I can't wait to go back!

We had the most amazing wedding at winter park! Emily and all of the staff were so accommodating and helpful! They worked with our schedules for rehearsal dinner and wedding. They helped place all our decorations. The bridal suite was such a great place to get ready with all my girls. The recommendations for vendors were great and most had discounted travel fees! Emily was also great at keeping us on track with our planning and meeting whenever we asked. Our wedding at winter park was perfect!

If you want to get married on top of the Rockies at one of the most beautiful places ever, Winter Park is the place. The whole staff was extremely accommodating, and all of our out of town guests had an amazing time and experience. It was a day to remember forever. I highly suggest Winter Park if you're looking for a mountain venue and an incredible wedding experience.

My Winter Park wedding was the wedding of my dreams. I seriously could not have imagined a more magical wedding weekend. I had a vision for a non-traditional Mary Jane wedding, and Emily worked with me to craft every detail to make this come true. Emily was an incredible wedding coordinator who was always quick to respond with “yeses” to my every request, from taking the chair lift to the top of the mountain for our first look, creating a wedding circle under Iron Horse, serving gelato, having a bonfire, stringing hundreds of patio lights, reserving the rooftop patio of Founder’s for our rehearsal dinner and much much more. Kendall provided the calming assuring energy and coordination I needed on the day of the wedding—I didn’t have to worry about a single thing other than showing up for my ceremony after running around the top of Winter Park. The food was perfect (buffalo steaks, trout and butternut were delicious!) and the wait staff was very professional (called many of us by our first names). The bar was accommodating and made our shot ski a fun experience for all of our guests (our biggest concern was the bar getting out of hand, but the service was great and trustworthy and we had zero issues). In all, Emily and her team hosted an unforgettable wedding and many guests said this was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. I have pictures on top of Winter Park, deep in the trees, against Iron Horse and Mary Jane Trail, dancing around a bonfire under the stars to prove it. Thank you Winter Park for making my wedding dreams come true!

My advice for the future Bride and Groom is to stay organized and know what you want early. If it's a rustic-romantical dream come true then there is none other than Winter Park Resort, Lodge at Sunspot. Our Wedding was truly an adventure and couldn't be happier with how everything went! Our wedding up at Sunspot Lodge was everything we wanted and more for our big day. The views across the valley and resort are amazing, the venue is incredible, and the food is so good. It was so easy to have everything all in once place, including the ceremony, the reception, the after party, and the lodging. Everyone was well taken care of and we heard nothing but good reviews from guests. Everything went off without a hitch because of the great staff, including Emily, Kendall, and Jesse. They were there to answer every question and offer help every step of the way throughout the entire planning process and through the entire event. Also, we had several people in attendance with food restrictions and allergies and the kitchen staff was so great and respectful of these conditions and went to great lengths to make sure that every guest was taken care of. We would definitely recommend booking Winter Park to anyone looking into the venue. You will not be disappointed!

Just know that this is it, this is THE Place. Winter Park was awesome! All our guests were floored and everything went very smoothly. Our wedding, pictures, video were all beautiful. The Food was AWESOME!!! Emily is THE BOMB. She is so helpful, has great ideas, answers all your questions and is so professional. She is a breath of fresh air, and always there to help. She's so on top of it. I am so glad we chose this as our venue, could not have been better!

Emily Jackson is awesome to work with! She just makes things happen! Very accommodating and very flexible. We had our reception at Lunch Rock and it was amazing. We were the first reception they had at the new location, and they went above and beyond to make sure it was a seamless transition using the building for the first time. Great staff, and food was perfect as we are very picky foodies as well! Thank you WP and Emily!!

Winter park resort was the first venue that we toured after we got engaged. From day one, Emily Jackson was absolutely wonderful! Her friendliness and professionalism are unparalleled. I had millions of questions, and of course family drama, but she was on top of everything and made sure the entire affair went perfectly. We are so grateful! Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the venue was! The food was amazing, the accommodations were perfect, and we could not have asked for a better place to have our wedding! Hands down this is one amazing venue, and it was the perfect choice!

We could not have picked a better place to have our wedding. From the very first time we met Emily Jackson and toured the Lodge at Sunspot we knew it was the perfect place for us. Emily was so fun to work with and was always on top of things while also allowing the flexibility to make the ceremony and reception unique to us. She was always very responsive to my millions of questions and provided support and reassurance throughout the entire planning process, which made me feel so much more at ease. The setting is incomparable and we loved having our mostly out of state guests experience the mountains, and they loved it too! The food at Sunspot is fantastic and the venue itself is gorgeous, not to mention the amazing panoramic mountain views. The Sunspot staff was helpful, attentive, and accommodating all night. We had some minor issues with the lodging staff (totally unrelated to the wedding coordination staff), including confusion about our welcome bags, but Emily stepped in and helped resolve the issue very quickly, which we greatly appreciated. We had the best experience and I can't recommend the Lodge at Sunspot enough!

I can't say enough about how happy the wedding party families were with the Winter Park experience. The SunSpot facility, the staff who worked the event, and the overall management of this most important day were outstanding. I'd like to recognize the person who coordinated it all. The professionalism and personality of Emily Jackson was brilliant. Her understanding of what we wanted to do and her coordination to get it done was spot on. Emily is a real professional and she knows what she is doing. Matching that professionalism with the most pleasant of personalities gave us the occasion we all hoped for. Our wedding was more perfect than we could have imagined! Planning a destination wedding could be challenging but Emily & Alyse with Winter Park Resort made everything so much easier! We had both our ceremony & reception at the Lodge at Sunspot. The staff at the lodge helped our wedding day run as smooth as possible. We had a little rain pass through as our ceremony was about to begin. They kept our guests content with a preliminary cocktail hour & once the rain passed,(maybe 20 minutes) they quickly wiped down the seats & sat everyone. The chairlift entrance & gondola exit to the wedding had to be one of the most unique features. The lift has the most amazing views of Winter Park. It is something your guests will never forget! Our guests raved about how good that appetizers & food selections were! The wait staff was on top of each table with any drink requests.

The wedding coordinator, Emily Jackson, was wonderful. She was there with us every step of the way, answering all of our many questions and kept us informed of any deadlines or timeline suggestions along the way. We were thrilled to have our ceremony and reception up at Sunspot Lodge at Winter Park, but the whole day, the entire planning process was and everything in-between was a thousand times better than we ever imagined.

The very best part of Sunspot Lodge Winter Park is that you will get to work with Emily Jackson—the location coordinator and your go-to girl to handle every single detail of the day. She was relaxed, always two-steps ahead of me, and genuinely one of the coolest people at the wedding. My husband and I were living in Dubai, UAE when we planned our wedding and Emily was more than happy to make Skype appointments with us to chat about details or go back and forth with emails since phone calls didn't work.

The food and service from the staff throughout the reception was over the top and completely wonderful in every way. I felt beyond cared for, my parents felt that they got such special service, as did all of our guests. We had about 135 people at the wedding, all of whom flew in for the occasion. Friends and family stayed here and there around Winter Park, some at the resort, others at Airbnb locations nearby. People loved the small-town feel of the resort—loved running into each other around town and at coffee shops.

Months later, our guests still cannot stop talking about the breathtaking chairlift ride up the mountain to the event. We cannot recommend Sunspot Lodge at Winter Park or Emily and her team more than we do!!

We had the best experience with Winter Park Resort! Everyone at the resort was very helpful and responsive, and the venue is exactly what we were looking for. We got married at the top of a mountain (The Lodge at Sunspot) and could not have had a better time. The venue itself is gorgeous and very well maintained; the lodge is the perfect mix of rustic and modern, and fulfilled all of our Colorado wedding dreams.

We loved working with the venue coordinator Emily Jackson, she is part of why we chose Winter Park in the first place. Emily is organized and well-versed in everything that has to do with the resort. She was helpful, sweet, and patient. We did a lot of extra activities over our wedding weekend and Emily was a great help in planning our entire wedding weekend experience.

From the first contact to our last goodbye, Emily Jackson was great through the whole process. She coordinated the dinner, made sure that the band was properly in place and the tables were perfectly set. The food was exceptional and the staff were polite, quick, attentive and non-distracting. The ceremony was beautiful. She even made sure that the lift stop running during the ceremony so that there were no noise distractions. The Winter Park Resort accommodations were easy for our guests and mountain views. Everyone loved the ski lift up to Sunspot Lodge and the gondola ride down at the end of the evening was a blast. We had a buffet the next morning and Emily brought flowers from the reception to the Vintage Hotel for an added touch and cost savings to us. We had such a great time working with Emily and she made this destination wedding the most memorable for our 125 guests.

This venue was a beautiful setting. Taking the chair lift to the top, the view, everything was breathtaking. The food, service was all very professional, organized, and very friendly. We never felt uncomfortable asking questions or getting things done in sufficient time.
Emily took great care of us. I describe the wedding as "magical". Very pleasant experience.

We hosted our daughter's wedding at Sunspot Lodge at Winter Park and it was absolutely beyond what we thought possible. A destination wedding can add many layers of stress, but from the moment we arrived, a few days early, we felt welcomed and invited to be a part of all the festivities that WP offered. It was a joy to work with Emily and the staff there, they created an atmosphere that honored the natural beauty and accommodated the beauty of all who arrived. It was worth every dime and more - the food, the wine and the craft beers they let my son-in-law choose made the whole day one to remember. Thanks WP, sorry I don't have another wedding to plan, but I would choose you all over again if I could.

Emily Jackson and the staff at Winter Park Resort made our wedding and the weekend absolutely perfect. The venue is beautiful, the food was great, and taking the chair lift up is a fun treat for all of the guests! Leading up to the wedding, we couldn't have asked for a better person to work with. Emily made everything so easy and was very responsive and professional. The day of, everything ran like clock work and as the bride, I was able to take it easy because the staff was so great and had everything under control. I highly recommend the Sunspot Lodge to any bride looking for that perfect scenic venue.

The venue was beautiful! They even washed the windows so the view was spectacular. The tables were nicely set up, we added our own table runners and center pieces. The food was outstanding, people raved about it. The staff was very helpful, courteous and served the food in a timely manner.

My husband and I are so happy we chose Winter Park Resort for our wedding! Everything was perfect and I didn't have to worry about a single thing the day of the wedding. Everyone commented on how great the food was and the wait staff were incredibly helpful and professional. Emily Jackson did a fantastic job coordinating everything and we could not have been happier. She was responsive, personable, extremely knowledgeable about what will take place, and a complete pleasure to work with. It was such a beautiful venue and all our guests commented on how much they loved the wedding. If we had to do it all over again, there is not a thing we would have done differently. Emily Jackson did an outstanding job coordinating our event. She responded quickly and accurately to all of our questions. On the days of the rehearsal and wedding she and her assistants were available, helpful, and friendly. The setting, of course, is stunning. The food was very good, and the servers were polite and efficient . I can heartily recommend Winter Park as a wedding destination. The skiing isn't bad either!

We had an excellent experience and wonderful time at Sunspot for our daughters weddings. Everything was exactly as described with a beautiful venue and excellent food. Emily was great to work with and we had many many complements from our friends and relatives. It was great!

We were extremely pleased with our Winter Park experience. Emily, the on-site event co-ordinator, was helpful and attentive from the beginning, along with being courteous and prompt with questions that surfaced along the way. With our first meeting, she was prepared with information and suggestions that helped us create the vision of what we wanted with our event. The venue was great, the staff, helpful and professional, the food and service, wonderful. We all experienced an exceptional sunset that really impacted our guests. A very positive experience overall!

Winter Park Sunspot Lodge exceeded our expectations for a wedding venue for my daughter's wedding. From initial contact through planning Emily and the staff were responsive and accommodating to our concerns and needs. The setting is stunning ! The food excellent ! The service flawless. We were told by many of our guests that it was the most beautiful place they had ever been for a wedding. They also commented on the quality of the food. A perfect mountain top wedding in an elegant setting.

Winter Park Resort was a dream wedding venue. Not only is it a beautiful location, but all the services are incredible. I was able to customize my wedding where I wanted to, but there was enough provided by Winter Park that I wasn't overwhlemed with decisions to make or things to do. Our guests raved about the food, the staff and service, and the beautiful setting. It was, and I quote, "the best wedding [they] had ever attended." Working with Emily Jackson was a breeze, too. She is so responsive and flexible and made the whole process so easy. I could go on and on, but Winter Park Resort is without a doubt the best mountain wedding venue available.

Amazing!! Emily the Social Group Sales Manager is a rockstar, here assistant Kristen is awesome as well. Very attentive and on top of making sure everything runs smoothly.

The Sunspot Lodge is beautiful and they are very organized and practiced with their services and backup plans. We had a few guests arrive late because of the tunnel construction traffic on I70 so they were unable to take the lift while we were using it for the processional. The bus drivers got our guests up there in time for most of the ceremony anyway. The gondolas for the way down after the ceremony were great for both the cooler weather and the intoxication. The staff and servers were awesome as well.

We also had an after party and morning-after brunch at Doc's which were both great also.

They do have a larger site fee, but I found when compared to other places once you add up all the details and when you're incorporating the chairlift, they were the best value and easiest to work with.

Their lodging was also extremely convenient and very reasonably priced with the group discount.

Winter park resort is perfect for a wedding. The setting on the mountain is beautiful and the staff are awesome. You won't be disappointed in their professionalism, flexibility, hospitality, organization and just overall friendliness. This destination wedding was only possible because of the staff (Emily specifically) at Winter Park going above and beyond my expectations. Highly, highly recommend.

I had my wedding at the Sunspot Lodge at Winter Park Resort this summer. It was absolutely gorgeous and everything was perfect for my mountain wedding! I worked with the wedding event planner on site (Emily Jackson), who was truly wonderful! She is the reason WP has great events. She was prompt in responding the emails/phone calls, always answering questions, and very easy to work with. We even hired her the night of the wedding to stay an extra 5 hours and help! The Lodge at Sunspot was incredible- stunning at sunset when the wedding was held. My guests loved taking the chair lift up and gondola down the mountain! Sunspot Lodge was very rustic and had a genuine "mountain" feel. Food was amazing; we chose surf & turf! We rented out the bar at the base of the mountain to have an after party for the "younger" people- it was super fun. WP had very reasonable lodging for guests, easy directions from the airport, and a ton of activities and shops at the base of the mountain during the summer for kids and adults (we had a lot of kids at the wedding). Many people went hiking, fishing, golfing, biking, or bought the event pass for the alpine slide and kid bungee jumps. Best perk of all? A season ski pass to Winter Park! I would choose this venue again in a heart beat! Love WP!!!

Emily Jackson and the rest of the staff at Sunspot Lodge were extremely professional, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. We live in Ohio, so planning a dinner for 130 out of town guests was a challenge for me- but not for Emily! We wanted the evening to be special and it was. Can't wait to return this winter- on skis this time- and enjoy the ambiance, view and great food.

Winter Park Resort was the perfect venue for our mountain wedding. Not only was the location beautiful, but our coordinator Emily was so helpful. Emily and Hannah were wonderful to work with during the planning process. They were quick to respond and provided helpful tips and ideas. The venue (lunch rock) was gorgeous inside and out, the views alone are worth having your guests make the trek up there. We chose the salmon and the vegetarian stuffed butternut squash, both were excellent. Some guests were not fond of the sides, as the vegetable were a little on the crunchy side. Only negative was at the end of the night, there was a miscommunication between the staff that resulted in a chaotic exit and us losing a few of our decorations. Otherwise everything was amazing and I would do it all again in the same place if I could!

We got married at the Lunch Rock Lodge over Labor Day weekend. Emily and Hannah were nothing but helpful and supportive during the entire planning process, and they made sure that everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding. The space and location were absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious, the drinks plentiful, and I have no regrets about choosing Winter Park as our venue!

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. It snowed and they served hot chocolate after the service.
They always responded to e mails with detailed information and with great customer service.

We just had our wedding in Winter Park this August and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Emily and Kendall were fantastic throughout the whole process and the day of we didn't have to worry about a thing, from coordinating all of the vendors to setting up our place cards and dessert tables, and not to mention dealing with some ridiculous questions from my parents along the way.
The whole day went off without a hitch and our guests cannot stop raving about the views and how delicious the food was. We had looked at some other mountain venues but I don't think many can compare to Winter Park, it was well worth it!

Emily Jackson along with her team did an unbelievable job. She made my life so much easier by knowing which vendors were the best and tips for having a successful wedding day. She is approachable and is an expert at her job. Her staff was courteous and wonderful throughout our wedding weekend. Winter Park Resort was an EXCELLENT wedding venue! At The Lodge at Sunspot, the ceremony is on a beautiful wooden deck and the reception is inside the lodge, which has large windows overlooking the mountains. The food was excellent, and the venue accommodated a twist on their traditional menu to cater an entirely vegetarian meal. It was so easy to have all food and alcohol ordered through the venue. There are a number of restaurants in the ski village willing to do rehearsal dinners or brunches. This was an OUT OF TOWN wedding, but was VERY EASY TO PLAN with the wedding coordinators at the resort. I would recommend Kendall if you have a choice! I had a bridal suite to get ready in and the resort took care of setting up all of the decorations I brought (aisle decorations, place cards, dessert, and centerpieces). It was amazing to show up to the venue already looking beautiful! A late September wedding was wonderful. Most days were 55 and sunny, and the aspen trees were all bright yellow. That said, it did snow during our wedding ceremony, so weather can be unpredictable. The resort also has an alpine slide and an amazing mountain bike park, but both close for the season at some point, so I would check with the resort to make sure they are open for a fall wedding. I will share a few hiccups: 1. the Vintage Hotel (quite affordable) is ~0.5 miles away from the chairlift and main resort village. During the day, guests can ride a mini-gondola down to the village, but after the ceremony, many of my guests ended up walking home in the dark. I recommend the Zephyr Lodge for accommodations. 2. Guests ride the chairlift up, which is a ton of fun. The venue then loads 4 person gondola cars for the ride down, but only ~20 guests can ride down per 5-10 minutes, so exiting took a while. In all, a WONDERFUL venue.

Emily and Jesse at Sun Spot were terrific to work with. We received many compliments on the beauty of the venue, the quality of the food and how the staff was so attentative to our guests. Fun spot is a gorgeous place for a wedding. The food was exceptional Heard many comments the best they have ever had at a wedding ! The staff and everyone at Winter Park were so friendly and helpful . Rehearsal dinner at docs roadhouse was fantastic . The food was delicious and the staff there or so accommodating and polite . There are many things to do in Winter Park resort and around the area for guests. I would recommend staying at Frazier Crossing or if you book a room at at Zephyr and it's in Mountain View make sure it is a Mountain View and not the Slopeside. We booked a Mountain View gold and was disappointed in the room compared to many other rooms I was in. I had mentioned that we were parents of the groom and was disappointed in the room the windows would not open very well . Over all it was a fantastic place to have a wedding ! I would definitely recommend Winter park resort .

We had a lovely wedding at the Lodge at Sunspot. Emily Jackson, the Event Coordinator was the absolute best! Her input and demeanor throughout the entire process from planning to execution made the entire day go off stressfree, which I thought was impossible. She really was the main reason we chose Winter Park. She has some great ideas and helped arrange a welcome reception for our guests at Docs Roadhouse (bar/restaurant on the mountain).

Additionally, the chairlift aspect was impressive, as were the views. The food (surf & turf with trout and beef tenderloin) was delicious, even by my fathers high standards. At the end of the night, riding in the Gondola as husband and wife under the stars was the most perfect way to end the event.

We got married at Winter Park in September 2014 and worked with Emily Jackson to plan and book the event. Emily was a pleasure to work with from day one - she was polite, friendly, and, most importantly, incredibly patient and responsive! Her estimates and materials very clearly laid out all the details that the venue would take care of and that we would need to take care of, as well as a list of recommended vendors (2 of whom we used and were FABULOUS). Emily took care of the coordination for so many aspects (waitstaff, bar, bar tenders, food, plates, silverware, glassware, linens, tables, chairs, helped with floor plan, transportation, lodging, coordination with vendor arrivals...the list goes on and on!) that our planning was quite easy and stress free! We also had our after party through Winter Park, which was equally fantastic and our bartender for late night, DJ, was just spectacular. We had the option to do a rehearsal dinner and a brunch there, again wtih Emily's assistance in coordination, but it did not work out with our schedule so we were unable to, but I sure wish we could have!! I'm so glad we had our wedding at Winter Park - besides Emily's help with coordination, our guests raved about the food and the spectacular venue and some commented it was the most gorgeous venue they've ever been to - and we didnt even decorate!! :-)

A wonderful experience! This is where the bride and groom wanted to be, and it was a very special day. Emily and her staff were professional and easy to work with. Couldn't have executed all the details of the day without Emily and Kristin. The accomodations were perfect for a close family weekend. Special thanks to Winter Park for providing outdoor space for our family "Olympics" on rehearsal day. Even Mother Nature lent a hand and provided a breathtaking backdrop for a very special moment in our lives.

Emily and her team were fantastic throughout the entire planning and execution of my rehearsal dinner. They were able to work with our budget and brought everything together perfectly. The food was cooked perfectly and delivered to all the tables on time. The appetizers were great and everyone was able to get a beer no problem. There were tray and trays of beers going around at all times which was awesome!! Emily was great and handled our transportation extremely well. All around everything went off without a hitch and I highly recommend Sunspot Lodge for a beautiful rehearsal dinner

Winter Park Resort had everything I could possibly want for my wedding and it all went so smoothly! You can't beat the view at the top, the incredible venue and the unique experience of having guests arrive at the wedding from the chairlift. I had many guests come up to me and tell me it was the coolest wedding they had ever attended. Emily Jackson was extremely helpful during the planning process and was a pleasure to work with! She was on top of everything so I never felt stressed about the details. I just wish I could go back and do this weekend all over again!

Winter Park was an AMAZING venue for our wedding. Emily Jackson, the wedding sales associate, was incredibly professional, responsive, helpful, and just a delight to work with for our wedding details. We planned a fairly quick wedding (3 months from engagement to wedding), and it couldn't have gone more smoothly even with a year of planning. The food was excellent, the staff at our event was helpful and courteous, and the venue was, well, dreamy! The natural beauty of the mountains surrounding Sunspot Lodge and the open yet cozy feeling of Sunspot itself created a perfect rustic yet elegant mountain wedding. We couldn't have dreamed of a better venue or better service.

Winter Park Resort is absolutely stunning and a great place to get married. The resort itself is a great place to gather family and friends for the weekend. We had many people come up early to hang out around the resort together. We had our wedding and reception at the Lodge at Sunspot. It's gorgeous and taking the lift up to a wedding was so fun for our guests (we've been told!). The views from the reception hall are fantastic and the night was beautiful. The food and drinks were both great and we had such a fun party. The staff at WP takes great care of you. Emily and her team are dedicated to the bridal parties day of, which helps to eliminate stress. The bridal suite is HUGE and was such a fun/comfortable place for the ladies to get ready. They served lunch, so we didn't have to worry about a thing. There is not a designated spot for the guys to get ready in, but my husband and his friends got ready in our condo, which was just steps to the ski lift. It worked out just fine. I would do it all over again and would choose WP every time. It's truly a wedding adventure!

Working with Emily Jackson at Winter Park to plan my wedding was such a treat. She was so responsive to all of my questions leading up to the big day and worked hard to make sure our vision happened. I was blown away at how attentive the staff was on our wedding day and they definitely ensured that everything went smoothly! Great experience, beautiful venue, and amazing memories!

Emily did an amazing job as the event coordinator for our wedding. She was very organized and on top of things. Anytime we wanted to come check out the location she made it possible and when we had questions, she was quick to respond. The location was gorgeous. The staff the night of the wedding was very attentive and professional. The food was delicious, but it took awhile for it to start being delivered to our guests. However, once they started bringing it out, it was done so quickly. The only other issue we had was with our ceremony. One WP employee forgot to give the bridesmaids their bouquets as they loaded the chairlift. Therefore, myself (the bride) and my father had to carry several bouquets up the lift to bring to them. This caused there to be a big delay between when the flower girls and when the bridesmaids walking down the aisle. Other than those small mishaps, I have no complaints and would absolutely recommend the Sunspot Lodge to others for their special events.

We had the most spectacular wedding at Sunspot this summer! The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the views can't be beat. The staff at Sunspot, Doc's Roadhouse (where we held multiple wedding-weekend events), and the Zephyr Lodge were top-notch, and they went above and beyond to make an amazing weekend for us. Shout out to Jesse at Sunspot, Tosha at Doc's, and Vicky at the front deck for being so professional, friendly, and helpful!

While we experienced some frustrations during the planning process, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of service throughout the weekend. Additionally, having an independent planner (Rachel from Love This Day Events) helped us plan from a distance and kept our wedding day running smoothly. When a rainy afternoon threatened the ceremony, all the WP staff were so flexible and willing to do whatever was needed to make the day go smoothly. Overall, we highly recommend Winter Park Resort!

Delicious food! We all really enjoyed the BBQ Buffet. Appreciate that the venue, Doc's Roadhouse, had really been cleaned up and looked very inviting. Also appreciate that the DVD player and big screen TV was arranged for us, even though we had been informed it was no longer available.....a nice surprise!

I didn't expect to enjoy my wedding but, somehow, my wedding day exceeded every expectation and not only did I have fun, it has become a treasured memory in a way I thought must simply be hollywood cliche. Much of that credit goes to Winter Park (Emily and Kendall, specifically), which provided a meaningful and unique venue.

Mary Jane has always been an important place for us. After we recovered from the shock of losing the old treasured Lunch Rock, we marveled at our luck that we'd be able to get married there with the new facility at the top of Mary Jane. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The views were stunning, the new Lunch Rock's architecture was perfect, and the Winter Park team did such a fantastic job that our guests never guessed it was the resort's first wedding at that facility. The bridal suite was A++++, the accommodations they arranged for us at the Zephyr were perfect (before arriving a few days before our wedding, we didn't even realize the huge benefits of having a condo with a kitchen and balcony; it gave us the luxury to host friends or stay in), and to was great to work with Emily and Kendall (who also ended up helping us out with a welcome party for our guests the night before!). It was a perfect day for us and a wonderful taste of Colorado for our out-of state friends and family. Also, the food was awesome!

A quick side note: even though we're Colorado natives, we live in DC so we also hired a coordinator to help with correspondence and logistics, which I'd recommend to any out-of state bride.

Sunspot at Winter Park was truly unforgettable. We chose it as our venue because of our love of the mountains, our shared history in Winter Park, and our desire to share that with our wedding guests. Emily Jackson guided us through the process, and we were so impressed with her enthusiasm, flexibility, and the very real sense that she cared about our wedding being what we wanted it to be. We have had so many compliments from our guests about their whole experience, from the professionalism of the WP staff to the gorgeous views to the delicious food.
The only thing to be aware of when choosing Sunspot is the relatively short amount of time included in the site fee. If you are holding your ceremony on top (which you should because it's AWESOME), five hours really is a tight timeframe for a ceremony, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, toasts and dancing. Our guests were not quite ready for the celebration to be over at 10:30 (the upside, however, is that everyone leaves wanting more instead of ready for it to be over!).
We are so so happy we chose Sunspot. There are so many amazing venues in Colorado, but nothing compared for us. We look forward to building more memories over the years at Winter Park and getting to remember the one night we had the mountain to ourselves as we started our lives together.

These guys were great to work with but I sometimes wondered if it was because we were locals as well as employees and they wanted to give us whatever we wanted no matter the rules just so that we would give them a good recommendation. Other than that, our food was awesome, the venue was perfect, and most important, everyone had the time of their lives!

May have issues with weather and altitude; fortunately, we did have great weather and no one had problems with altitude.. Everyone that attended says this the best wedding that they had ever attended and many came a long way to attend. Hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and drinks were fine. Band and photographer were outstanding.

Emily at Winter Park Resort was very helpful in coordinating for us! We had our wedding at the YMCA, but a lot of our guests stayed at Winter Park. Everyone had a nice time, and Emily was a pleasure to work with. She also set up a bus for our guests from the hotel to the YMCA and that was great, too. The only problem was that the bus driver dropped all of the guests off pretty late for the wedding--I heard there was bad traffic, so maybe not his fault. AND, at the end of the night, he left at 10 p.m. sharp with only one guest on the bus, while the rest of the guests were making their way outside. They ALL missed the bus and he didn't wait for them, even though he knew he had dropped all of them off. Our family called the hotel and asked for him to come back, so by 11 p.m. he had come back to pick up the remaining guests, but that was a little frustrating. Luckily, there was still beer for people to drink in the meantime. :)

It's a beautiful venue and most the staff was extremely nice. If this is where you would like have your special day there are a few things to note to make sure you have a better experience than us. It ended up being a good place for destination wedding for our guest, but not for us as hosts.

1. Get a room block with contract: They do hold festivals and you could be told, like us, that your guests need to hurry up and book in Jan for a June wedding, took days to set up the block and then had to communicate to all guest that the link to book no longer works.

2. Give allergies directly to kitchen staff: They were not properly communicated to the kitchen staff and I was explaining to the waiter that dairy was in the sauce and while cleaning up the next day found the paperwork given to kitchen that did include all the allergies we recorded from RSVPs and provided with table arrangements to coordinator.

3. Hire an assistant for the day of to handle all the small stuff, every 15 minutes there was something we were handling and couldn't find a staff member. Dinner service 20 min late, champagne not ready for bridesmaids as requested weeks before, vendors asking us where to go for meals, sparklers for photo moved by staff

4. Put up your do not disturb sign on your room: I was called the week of the wedding asking if they could do maintenance in our room knowing we were the bride in groom. Then house cleaning enter our room and told us we needed to check out when we were staying another night.

5. Do not expect anything in return for things not going as planned or any special treatment. Winter Park did not do anything to make up for these mishaps when we let them know.

Beautiful Venue, great reception staff, poor coordinators

The venue itself was absolutely beautiful and everything we could ask for. The wait staff during the reception was great and very accommodating. However, I had a very difficult time dealing with the Wedding coordinators Ellen and Bri. Ellen was non responsive to my mother and I throughout the year long process and had made promises she did not deliver. She promised extra flowers due to construction on top of the mountain where there was supposed to be no construction when I signed my contract and I never got the flowers she said. She misquoted us for months, then weeks before the wedding said it was an extra 2000. Ellen left our sword we were supposed to cut our cake with in her car and then was unresponsive for days after. My MOH coordinated our line up for introductions because no one was there to help and Bri made poor comments instead of doing her job. Things were missing after the staff packed up our belongings. It was highly disappointing the day of when it came to the wedding coordinators. But, the food was excellent, the CHEF was accommodating and the atmosphere was perfect!
