I can't say enough good things about Wilmington Strings. The beautiful performance by the string quartet elevated my son's entire wedding ceremony. We received so many complements about the ceremony music from our guests. Truly, the program WS provided didn't simply meet our expectations; it exceeded them. Aside from the music itself, Kathleen from WS was patient with us, prompt in responding, helpful in planning, and attentive to every detail. The cost of their services we received was quite reasonable. Five stars on everything!

Such an amazing experience!
Kathleen did an amazing job for us at our wedding. From the beginning she was quick to respond and made the process so easy. We appreciated this so much as wedding planning can be overwhelming with all the planning and details. Very professional and just absolutely beautiful. It was my wish to have the violin being played for our ceremony and she did an amazing job. When I was walking in her music just filled the air with such a warmth and peaceful feeling. She took care of any issues with timing of the procession and made it flawless. My daughter plays the violin and she told me how amazing of a job she did with that and in how she handled it. She did a great job making that moment for me and my husband magical. Everyone said how absolutely beautiful our wedding was with having her play for us. She added that special sparkle. I am very happy that I found her on here and picked her to play the violin for our ceremony. Thank you Kathleen! Thank you for being a part of our celebration and for giving us wonderful memories!

WSE Made our Ceremony Unforgettable
Having a live string ensemble adds an emotional and personal touch to your wedding or event. WSE went above and beyond to make our ceremony unforgettable. WSE was very helpful with ceremony music suggestions and researched arrangements for specific song requests that were not in their catalogue. In planning ceremony music, they helped me figure out the order of other components of the ceremony based on the hundreds of other weddings they have played for. On the wedding day, they arrived early and set up in the background of the chaos. The live music played by WSE is unmatched to any playlist on spotify.

Elegant and Graceful performance
It was an absolute pleasure working with the Wilmington String Ensemble. They were easy to contact and talk to through the process. Their song selection format was very easy to complete. The actual performance on the day of the wedding was perfect. The execution and delivery for our chosen songs went off with zero issues. They play beautifully and are extremely knowledgeable on timing. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a string ensemble.

Highly recommend Wilmington String Ensemble!
Wilmington String Ensemble provided a string trio for our daughters wedding and cocktail hour a few weeks ago. Kathleen was very easy to work with, providing prompt communication and helping us formulate a basic plan. They have a wonderful repertoire of traditional and contemporary selections to choose from. We selected the pieces for the ceremony and a few for the cocktail hour and gave them latitude to pick selections they thought would fit the event. We had considerable weather drama the afternoon of the ceremony and they were incredibly flexible on site. We received so many compliments and they were a perfect addition to her dream wedding. Outstanding Musicians who added an elegant touch!
My wife and I were married this past June, and we hired Wilmington Strings to play for both our ceremony and our cocktail hour. They not only played beautifully, but they were extremely flexible our playlist and with learning some of the songs we had requested. Especially considering that we had to make a few last minute changes to our song list, they didn't even bat an eye and were able to adjust easily! Lastly, they were extremely professional (especially given the unexpected heat wave that came). We cannot recommend them highly enough!!

We had the most beautiful and romantic ceremony and cocktail hour we could ask for! The string quartet was extremely talented and have a vast repertoire. We requested some of the more challenging, lesser-known classical pieces that needed to be rehearsed a lot and were pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate most of them. Everything was played beautifully and made us feel emotional. I also really enjoyed working with Kathleen, the owner, throughout the wedding planning process.

Fantastic Sound Elevated Wedding Atmosphere
Wilmington String Ensemble played during our ceremony and cocktail hour at Winterthur Reflecting Pool - the music was beautiful and really elevated the atmosphere of the event. Kathleen was wonderful to work with, helping us determine a mix of classical and pop music. They also were able to play music not listed in their repertoire upon request. Wonderful Experience from Start to Finish
The Wilmington String Ensemble was a joy to work with. From the very first time we asked for a quote, Kathleen was responsive and answered all of our questions. They contacted our pastor to get cues and made sure everything was in place before our wedding day. Their repertoire is massive and any song that you could want is on their list, from classical to modern. My wife and I selected a mix and we could not be happier with the performance. On the day of the wedding they arrived early to set up and confirm our plans. They were flexible with seating and easy to work with. Most importantly was the performance: truly exceptional and made our day extra special. We had multiple people come up to us after the ceremony and rehearsal to say how much they enjoyed the music. I cannot recommend WSE highly enough.

I truly cannot say enough good things about Kathleen and the Wilmington String Ensemble. We hired them for our 6/4/22 wedding, and I will be recommending them to anyone that needs strings for their next wedding or event. I would highly recommend them to anyone reading this looking to work with a great team with an incredible repertoire.
Kathleen was extremely professional, communicative and responsive. I felt taken care of from the very beginning of working with them.
They also have an amazing repertoire and were able to accommodate every song we asked for. Their list of instructions is very straight forward for day-of so there's no confusion and you can ensure a really smooth production.
And their music was fabulous. Truly every song was exactly how I imagined it to be played. I was so happy with how everything turned out, my only wish is that I had more events I could use Kathleen and her team for.
Finally, Kathleen and her team were very affordable. I was more than pleased with the services received for the cost and truly could not recommend them enough.

The Perfect Touch
I highly recommend Wilmington Strings Ensemble.
We hired them for our ceremony, requesting a solo classical guitarist to play a mix of both classical and contemporary songs (the contemporary included a range of hits from the Beatles to the White Stripes) for a romantic yet personalized experience.
Our point-of-contact was very responsive and helpful, and our musician was excellent. They were both professional, and made WSE the easiest vendor to work with.

The Perfect Touch for Our Wedding Ceremony
We had a quartet and vocalist from the Wilmington String Ensemble perform at our wedding ceremony, and they did SUCH a beautiful job! The performances by the vocalist and musicians added so much depth and emotion to our ceremony, and one of my favorite moments of the day was walking down the aisle to the sound of their beautiful music playing. So many guests told us how moving the ceremony was, and I have no doubt that the team from the Wilmington String Ensemble are largely to thank.
Throughout the whole wedding planning process Kathleen was so wonderful to work with, and helped us pick out songs and answered any questions we had. She was incredibly responsive, and so easy to work with. We also had to move our original 2020 date to 2021 due to Covid, and Kathleen was nothing but gracious, understanding, and accommodating throughout that entire process. A heartfelt thank you to the Wilmington String Ensemble for making our wedding ceremony all we had dreamed it would be!

The Wilmington String Ensemble provided a wonderful performance at our wedding. It was lovely and just as we envisioned it to be. We hired a trio of musicians - a violinist, cellist, and trumpet player.
Kathleen provided recommendations on the song selections for the processionals during the ceremony. It was absolutely magnificent. We opted for classical music during the prelude and ceremony and changed to pop selections for the cocktail hour. The musicians demonstrated the utmost professionalism and were a pleasure to work with.

Wilmington Strings was incredible! We had a string trio of violin, cello and harp play for our ceremony and reception. They were incredible! Very responsive and receptive to our ideas. The musicians hit all the cues on perfect time during the ceremony. I've always loved music played on a harp but I wasn't sure if it would be a bit over the top. I'm so glad we went ahead with the harp, it is such a beautiful instrument and really added a wow factor to the string ensemble. Many of our guests commented on how beautifully they all played.

What a beautiful touch to my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour
I would not have wanted anyone else to play the strings during my ceremony. I got so many compliments from my guests about how beautiful all the music was. I would definitely recommend them for a wedding ceremony and cocktail hour.

Beautiful Experience
We had The Wilmington String Ensemble play at both our ceremony and cocktail hour and they were absolutely wonderful. I asked if they could play a song that was not in their library and they did it with no issues! The library they have is extensive as well and provided us with lots of options. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely wonderful
Wilmington string ensemble played the ceremony music for my wedding November 6th. They played the most beautiful music exactly how I wanted. Kathleen even wrote my music out that did not originally have a string Part written. They went above and beyond to make my ceremony special. All of the musicians were amazing. Beautiful Ceremony Music!
We had a string quartet from Wilmington Strings Ensemble perform during our ceremony and it was the perfect choice! We chose several pieces from their large catalog and they were able to accommodate our requests for a couple of songs not already on their list at no extra charge. Kathleen was wonderful to work with and we highly recommend them!

A fantastic choice!
We hired Wilmington Strings (trio) for our ceremony and cocktail hour and we could not have been more pleased! Our venue was the Christiana Hilton and they have done many weddings there, so they were very familiar with the set-up and expectations. Kathleen was exceptional to deal with: pleasant, responsive and very willing to answer any question I had. I highly recommend Wilmington Strings! Our guests were very complimentary of them!

Beautiful music & excellent experience
A huge thank you to Kathleen and Wilmington Strings Quartet! Her string quartet performed at my wedding in August at Pomme, not only was the music absolutely beautiful, but Kathleen herself was phenomenal to work with from start to finish. Everyone arrived early to setup for the wedding, which was also appreciated.
Walking down the aisle and hearing such lovely music made it all the more special.
Leading up the wedding, Kathleen paid attention to every detail and was very helpful with questions I had around my song selections. She even noticed a song I had forgotten to add on my final selection sheet! For our music selection, I had selected more contemporary music for pre ceremony, and classical for the ceremony itself. Guests came up to me during the night to tell me how moving the music was! I would highly recommend Wilmington Strings for anyone that is looking for a beautiful and seamless experience.

Best Quartet Around
Kathleen is wonderful to work with. My daughter, a violinist, looked at a few quartets; watched or listened to their music. Wilmington String Ensemble was the only quartet that met her expectations. They are the best!

Wonderful musicians, great experience
Wilmington Strings was amazing to work with from start to finish. They provided the most beautiful music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and throughout dinner. We opted for a trio, but I am confident any configuration would be great. We handpicked our songs, and they played beautiful arrangements of everything from Bach, to Beauty and the Beast, to the Beach Boys. I can't recommend them more! Totally professional, accommodating, and talented.

Working with the Wilmington Strings was tremendous. From finding the Stars Wars Throne procession for the violinist to play. To the guitarist writing his one version of "At Last" for our wedding dance. We would definitely recommend them for your wedding or event.

Hire for your Wedding!
I cannot fully express how happy I am that Wilmington String Ensemble (string quartet) played at my wedding. One of my #1 desires was to have strings during our ceremony. The ceremony was a catholic mass and Kathleen was wonderful to work with. She provided a song list for different parts of the mass, gave me plenty of options, and provided recommendations when asked. She was very responsive by email. On the day of the wedding, I was blown away. The string quartet was beautiful. Walking down the aisle was even more memorable because of the beautiful sounds of the strings. I received so many compliments on the music. I cannot write enough good things! They have a wonderful and extensive repertoire. You could also have some of their players present for cocktail hour (if you so choose). Thank you to Wilmington String Ensemble for contributing to my wedding! Everyone (especially me) LOVED the music! Beautiful!

Their music was perfect for our wedding
Wilmington Strings played at our 9/22/18 wedding on lake Nockamixon in Perkasie, PA. The music they played couldn’t have been more perfect. One of the women playing used to be mine and my sisters violin teacher - which made it extra special. It was smooth interactions most via email and their site is super accessible and easy to navigate. They added an air of excellence to our cocktail our as they contnuted to serenade our guests. They were a huge part of our wedding and we were so thrilled the could be a part of it 💕

We hired a string quartet from the Wilmington String Ensemble to play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and we were blown away. The quartet sounded amazing and really added a touch of class, uniqueness, and intimacy to our wedding for what I considered to be an excellent value. We loved getting to pick the different pieces the musicians would play at our ceremony, and they were gracious and accommodating at working with us on the special timing for the bride's entrance down the aisle. I had dreamed of having Kathleen play at my wedding for YEARS, and felt so incredibly honored to be able to have her there on my special day!! I hired the Wilmington String Ensemble for my ceremony music. I requested a string trio and got a vocalist from my Church. Katie is amazing! She responds to your questions promptly and even provides feedback on anything you will play during that time. She is a sweetheart! I got a lot of compliments from the music selection and about how well they played!! One of my guests told me that she had them played during her ceremony many years ago and always recommends them to people. I couldn't agree more! They'll play amazingly! I was beyond happy, I was THRILLED with the duo of harp and violin!!! It was beautiful, tranquil and magical to have them playing on our wedding day. Our guests told us it had transformed them to a whole new place to walk in hearing the beautiful music. I could not have asked for a better day, and walking in to Clair de Lune was my dream, which was made come true with these talented musicians. I even made sure to include them on our wedding program, so all our guests knew who Wilmington String Ensemble was!!! Can't help having high praise for such great performances!

The WSE were wonderful to work with! I was in contact with Karen up until the day of. She helped make suggestions and took my own personal requests of music selections and timing of music into consideration. I would highly recommend them for an outdoor wedding...they helped add that extra piece of 'class' we were looking for! They sounded wonderful (I've definitely been to weddings where live music didn't) and I can't say enough about them!

The Wilmington String Ensemble provided the prelude and ceremony music at our wedding. They made sure to ask our music selections for each portion of the ceremony and made sure to coordinate with the reception site so that everything went smoothly. Karen Ahramjian and her ensemble elevated our mass from a traditional Catholic mass to the most beautiful ceremony. We had numerous compliments from our guests who remarked that the music was a wonderful addition to an already joyous occasion. We chose the Wilmington String Ensemble to play our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour music and I don't think we could have made a better choice! Karen was so helpful from the beginning. She provided a list of musicians which you are free to create your own ensemble from! String quartet? String Duo with a Vocalist? A Harpist? Guitarist or Pianist? Trumpets, even! So, many options to choose from, not to mention at the best prices that we found on the internet. We were sold, the only problem was that our wedding was out in Ambler, PA and we weren't sure if it would be too far or we'd be charged extra for that distance. Karen assured me that the distance was fine and we ended up going for a string trio. She then provided me with lists of plenty of suggestions for prelude music, processional and recessional songs. So awesome! I was able to look up the suggested music online and decide what I preferred. On top of everything, my wedding ended up being the night a hurricane hit the area but Karen contacted me to confirm and sure enough, the string trio made it and my ceremony was wonderful! Thank you to Karen and the rest of the Wilmington String Ensemble musicians!!

Beautiful music for our wedding
Wilmington Strings did an excellent job at our wedding. They played for both the ceremony & the cocktail hour and they were a nice touch. They did have a bit of trouble during the ceremony transitioning from once piece of music to the other, but it was a very minor issue that didn't really take away from the experience. Would still highly recommend - wonderful music, easy to work with, and affordable!

Thank you for helping to coordinate and plan the string duo performance at my wedding event on 5-28-16. Lisa and Sue were able to find ample shade close to the ceremony site to play the processional and recessional pieces that I had selected. "Concerning Hobbits" sounded even better than I could have hoped for-- the music sounded rich and heartfelt, and I will never forget hearing it that way as my father walked me down the isle. I did hear a couple of guests say that the music was a bit hard to hear, but there was a slight breeze so I imagine the sound was carried a bit that way. If I could do it again, I would reconsider my original choice to not use an amp to project the sound of their instruments. This is in no way a complaint about the quality of the music that Lisa and Sue provided, rather just some honest feedback so you can pass it along to other brides who are asking questions similar to my own. I had approximately 75 guests in total the day of the wedding.
