Willaby's team is the best!

Willabys Catering was an absolute highlight of our wedding! From our very first conversation with Patrick, we knew we had made the right choice.
Patrick, Cody, and Megan were a dream to work with—so professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in creating a menu that was perfect for us. Patrick, in particular, was amazing. He patiently guided us through our many variations of the menu, from an initial wild idea of Indo-Italian fusion to the delicious, seasonal farm-to-table creation (with Indian and Italian influences) we ultimately ended up with. Cody was a hero, taking all our family's dietary restrictions and copious comments from the tastings to heart. He made countless changes to suit our preferences, and he did it all with grace.

Speaking of tastings, we highly recommend them—it was such a fun experience to bring our parents along to, and it ensured we got the chance to actually sit down, enjoy everything, and give our detailed feedback.
On the wedding day, the food was spectacular. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and served hot and fresh. We received so many compliments from our guests about the quality and flavor of the food.
The catering staff was also incredible; they were friendly, attentive, and ensured that everyone was taken care of. The entire Willabys team went above and beyond - we were so touched when we saw staff members kindly helping our aging grandma up the steep ramp to the dining area. It was a small moment of care that meant the world to us.

We could not have been happier with their service and highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch wedding catering. Thank you, Willabys, for helping to make our day so perfect!

Flawless from start to finish

We worked with Willaby’s for our July wedding, and they were fantastic from start to finish. From the tasting through the reception, their team made the process easy, stress-free, and enjoyable. Communication was clear and responsive, and they were open to all of our questions and suggestions.

The appetizers were a huge hit—our guests are still talking about them! The family-style dinner was beautifully presented, delicious, and created such a warm, communal atmosphere at the reception. The staff were attentive, professional, and made sure everything flowed seamlessly.

We couldn’t have asked for a better catering partner on our big day. We would highly recommend Willaby’s to any couple looking for amazing food and a team that truly cares about making your event special.

My husband and I booked with Willabys for our wedding and everything was wonderful. Megan was very detail-oriented and she and the other staff members made our vision come to life. Their menu is extensive and they were able to accommodate a number of guests with dietary restrictions.

Fresh delicious food and amazing team

My husband and I worked with Willabys for our 2024 wedding, and they were absolutely spectacular. Megan was the main reason we pursued an initial tasting with the company—she was the most responsive and accommodating catering lead I’ve ever worked with, and I have an extensive background in weddings and events.

As a vegetarian, I was able to build a custom menu that not only accommodated but exceeded my dietary needs. The staff on the day of our event was professional, and our food arrived at our table on time and warm. Also, the food was incredibly fresh and delicious.

Willabys truly delivered an exceptional experience! If they have your date available, book them! You will not regret it!

Highly recommend!!

We are absolutely thrilled with the service Willaby’s provided! We used them for both catering and bartending for our wedding and they were so wonderful to work with. Great communication and worked with us to make our menu come to life. We did a custom menu with them and our guests loved the unique ideas and quality that Willaby’s provided. The food was great and the staff was so lovely to work with. Everyone is raving about it months later. Highly recommend this team- they are amazing!

Delicious food and excellent service

The food at our wedding was amazing and the service was great, the buffet was hot and everything was very fresh. I think cocktail hour was a little challenging for everyone because of all the wasps but they handled it like pros and did a fabulous job! We had Ale chicken, brisket, vegan cilantro corn cakes, Mac and cheese, grilled veggies, green goddess salad and bread.

AMAZING food and service!

I had Willabys cater my wedding this past weekend and I cannot rave about them enough! As a vegetarian, I have very strong opinions about having high quality food at weddings that caters to a variety of different diets. I've been very disappointed by wedding food in the past, which I didn't want to replicate at my own. Willabys was recommended by our planner, and from the first email I was incredibly impressed by their communication, professionalism, and willingness to tweak the menu to our taste. My fiance and I were blown away at the tasting, which translated well to the actual wedding when I was told "there may have been some fights over the food". Another concern of mine was the quantity of food (running out of food at a wedding is a recipe for disaster), and Willabys ensured that there was plenty to go around. They were also so flexible with our needs. For example, we purchased our own alcohol for the event and they provided the staff to serve at two different bar set ups at the cost of one. In general, they were so affordable as well - we only paid about half of what we had initially budgeted! Finally, what I didn't expect was just how friendly and amazing the Willabys folks would be at our wedding. So many guests commented on how wonderful and outgoing they were, at the bar and otherwise, and I myself had multiple awesome chats with them. 10/10 would have them for any event, and I'm so grateful to have had them at my wedding.

Amazing delicious food

Willaby's crafted an amazing delicious and unique menu for our wedding - from the raw oyster bar at cocktail hour to the incredible entrees, each and every bite was mouth-watering and top-notch quality. Multiple guests have since told me that it was the best wedding meal they'd ever had - "I never actually eat at weddings, but I cleaned my plate" - "I don't usually expect much from a wedding dinner, but everything was SO GOOD"! Amazing experience, and amazing contacts to work with leading up to the event. They are the top-rated caterer in the area for a reason.

Amazing experience!

We hired Willabys for our wedding for 130 people, plated dinner. At every step of the way they were exceptional: the tasting was a super fun experience and allowed us to pivot our menu selections and choose items that worked for us.

We wanted to do a dessert cheese board instead of a cake, and they rose to the occasion, sourcing local cheeses and chocolates.

Our plated dinner arrived hot to everyone’s plates and we got so many compliments on the salmon especially. Don’t hesitate, go with them!

Great Food & Amazing Customer Service

The food was delicious! We worked closely with Megan Allen from Willaby's Catering to pick out the perfect menu for our wedding. The tasting went smoothly and their office location is adorable. Megan made sure we understood the whole process, made several proposals for us and made adjustments when needed. On the day of the wedding Megan's team was on time, efficient, and friendly. The food was amazing and all of our guests enjoyed their meal. Would highly recommend contacting Willaby's and giving their food a try!

Can't say enough good things about Willabys Catering! From the initial planning stages through clean up at the end, they were professional and fun to work with. Delicious food and fabulous service!

Our appetizers were so good - naan with blueberries and ricotta cheese and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus! Oh, and the cobbler was insane! Chef's kiss!

In addition to providing great food, Willaby's helped set up and take down all the tables, which was a tremendous help. We can't thank them enough!

Scrumptious and Savvy!

I don't have enough room to tell you how wonderful Willaby's was! The whole team was attentive and friendly from the beginning of planning to the end of the reception. The food was delicious, and the ordering process made very simple. There were a few years between our first tasting to the reception day due to COVID postponements. Amazing food and service!!

We hired Willaby's for our reception meal and it was such a hit!! Everyone was raving about the food - especially the Mac & Cheese and Salmon. The Willaby's team was so wonderful to work with, they were organized, efficient and very helpful with not only catering but with our wedding planner as well! One thing I really appreciated was when I reached out to them last minute to see if they could leave some food items on the side for allergy restrictions and they did! They exceeded every expectation for our wedding day!

We had the best experience working with Willaby's! The entire team was outstanding to work with and executed every detail I envisioned perfectly. Our day couldn't have gone better, thanks to Megan, Sara and her team.

From corresponding with the owner, Jean Mateson and experiencing a complimentary tasting, we knew this was who we wanted to work with. After pushing it back almost 2 years due to Covid, we FINALLY had our dream wedding on May 14, 2022. I kept hearing from couples that something will go wrong, and you just have to plan for that. But I couldn't put my finger on anything that went wrong that day. Even the weather cooperated for us! The weather was questionable right until the last few hours leading to the ceremony. But the Willaby's staff was so flexible that they were willing to move the ceremony setup from outside to inside, up until an hour before the ceremony, if I wanted that. Luckily, the sun came out and made for a perfect ceremony outdoors, as originally planned. But they treated me as though they could make anything happen!

Megan and Sara were extremely friendly, professional, responsive and flexible throughout the MONTHS of correspondence! I sent Megan countless emails with questions/suggestions/change requests, and she was willing to do whatever it took to make me have the most epic day. She even provided several of her own suggestions, which was super helpful, considering I felt lost at times with how to go about the planning process. Not to mention, she was so upbeat and made me feel at-ease anytime I started to get a little stressed.

On our wedding day, all of our guests mentioned that they LOVED the food. Megan and Sara also made sure that myself and husband had a full plate of food and replenished our drinks at all times.

There are so many details that go into a wedding, including the timeline coordination with the other vendors, but they did not miss a beat. The other staff members from Willaby's were ALL so friendly and fun. Even one of the bartenders joined the dance floor and taught our guests the "Cupid Shuffle!"

The only bummer out of this all was that the night had to come to an end. Our day was literally a fairytale - and I owe so much of that to Willaby's for exceeding every expectation I had. I will be sure to refer Willaby's to any of my future-bride friends! Thank you, again!

Willabys for the W

Like so many others, we planned a 2020 wedding, and had to postpone. Our caterer bailed and thank GOODNESS we had the good karma to find Willabys. They had a little over 3 months to help us come up with a new plan. Blythe and her team knocked it out of the park. They mimicked our previous menu with their own little twists so it turned out BETTER than what we would have had. The day-of staff was incredible; they blended in seamlessly, and were so attentive whenever we (or anyone!) needed something. And the food was, SO. GOOD. We got more compliments on the food than any other thing. Friends and family who call and want to talk about how much fun they had, inevitably mention the food. It was the single most important part in making sure our guests were taken care of for the evening, and Willabys nailed it. I wouldn't change a thing, except maybe wish I would have planned with Willabys from the beginning.

Above and beyond!

Willabys was a huge hit at our wedding! The food was fantastic, but even more than that, the people were absolutely wonderful to work with. Blythe, in particular, was an absolute life saver who went above and beyond to make our wedding come together despite all of the hurdles associated with COVID-19. She was incredibly helpful and organized and stayed calm and supportive throughout the entire process. No idea what we would have done without her. Jamie, our day of coordinator, was totally on top of things and kept it all running smoothly. She was always checking in to see if there was anything we needed and was greatly appreciated. In addition, every single catering staff member I encountered on my wedding day was polite, friendly, and helpful. We could not be happier, and would absolutely recommend Willabys to anyone and everyone!

Excellent Catering Company!

You truly cannot go wrong with Willaby's Catering! They have delicious food, and lots to choose from (the mac and cheese was AMAZING for our Fall wedding.) The Best Decision

Willabys Catering and Event Design was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They worked with us to create the perfect menu – which was not so easy, considering we wanted many gluten free and vegan options... oh, and family style. They gave up options and made it clear that they would try to make any of our wishes work. They took care of everything for us… the linens, table settings, servers, bar tenders, amazing food and more. We did not worry about anything catering related the day of the wedding. Blythe and her crew took care of it all. Willabys Catering gets a 10/10 from us and we will recommend them to anyone throwing a wedding or other event in the future.

Must Use if at Youngberg

Willaby’s was incredibly awesome to work with throughout our entire wedding process. Their food was delicious, so many of our guests complimenting us. The best part of their services was the day of coordination. If you have your wedding at Youngberg Hill, you HAVE to have Willaby’s do catering and coordination. Youngberg is incredibly difficult to work with and the team at Willaby’s made the day of our wedding as smooth as it was. Can’t recommend them enough.

Wonderful coordination and delicious food!

We hired Willaby's at the recommendation of our venue Youngberg Hill for our wedding in early August 2019 and we could not have been happier with our decision. Shannin was fantastic to work with! She helped us with our catering needs, as well as partial planning. Partial planning was an extra fee, but she was SO WORTH IT! She helped keep us on task, reminded us of our deadlines, chose place settings and linens, and organized all the rental items. The day-of coordination was included with the catering and we would not have had such a smooth day without her and the rest of the Willaby's staff. Shannin kept us on track and on time, knew where everything went, helped with set up, and even had some food and desserts waiting for us in our limo at the end of the night. The food at Willaby's was delicious as well. Everything from the garlic butter and bread to the main courses were fabulous. Entrees were cooked perfectly and came out hot to all our guests (150+). We still have friends and family raving about the food! We would recommend Willaby's to anyone in need of a caterer for an event big or small. Between the service and the quality food, they are worth it.

True Professionals

We are so happy that we chose Willaby's. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. They were flexible and listened to all of our special requests regarding the meal. They also helped with table setting ideas (such as suggesting gold colored silverware which we loved). They did all of the coordinating with vendors related to meal (special chairs, tables, linens, etc.). Jean was great about communicating with us throughout the process. Our "day of" coordinator Courtney was exceptional. She made everything seem flawless and even kept me (the bride) hydrated throughout the evening (bringing me drinks and checking if I needed anything). We could not be happier with the level of service and professionalism.

I would have them do my next event. The food was exactly as we wanted it and the service was wonderful! I truly wish I had another child getting married so I could use them again. I want to thank you and give my biggest compliments to all of you for a perfect wedding/event at Youngberg Hill - but especially Courtney! You covered every detail and we did not have to do anything but enjoy our daughter’s wedding. Courtney seemed to have a good read on everything from the moment she arrived. She rolled with changes and made it all feel seamless. The staff that worked with her was efficient and timely in every way. That woodfire pizza was incredible! I was a little worried that it would not meet the expectations of the venue but it was perfect.

In the end and almost the most important thing…my husband said all of the money for everything was “totally worth it” – that is the highest compliment in my opinion! 

If you want terrific food for a great price, excellent and friendly customer service, and the utmost professionalism, this is the caterer for you!!! After doing a lot of online research, and reading through hundreds of reviews, we decided to go with Willaby’s Catering. From the beginning, Shannin the coordinator, was so helpful and quick to respond and I cannot say enough good things about her!! She helped me throughout the entire planning process, answering all of my questions and keeping me calm with her efficiency and responsiveness. We asked her to be a part of the rehearsal the night before the wedding and she handled the wedding party with such confidence and obvious experience, it immediately put my mind at ease. I knew that with Shannin in charge, everything was going to be ok. The day of the wedding she was onsite, regularly checking in with us to see if we needed anything. Bad planning on my part left us a corsage short for one of the moms and Shannin came to the rescue by making a corsage from the flowers in one of the arrangements!! Mom was none the wiser thanks to Shannin’s quick thinking! The service from the rest of the team was also top notch. All the servers and staff were incredibly professional, polite and on top of it. I never had an empty water or wine glass. One of the things that our guests keep commenting on, weeks later, is how friendly and helpful everyone was (in addition to how good the food was!). As an unexpected surprise, the staff packaged up some leftover food for us to have later that night. They had my wedding at Youngberg Hill and Willabys was their preferred caterer. I looked at other caterers for the day but none came close to them. They did so well that I can't think of using anyone else for all my catering needs in the future. They knew and managed everything for all of us throughout the process. The food was exactly as they contracted for and there were not surprises along the way. They are worth the cost as they exceeded our expectations as well as the views from Youngberg Hill. Everyone at my wedding could not stop talking about how good the food was! In fact its been a week and a half and I have still been receiving compliments on the food! When we contacted Willaby's they were actually booked for my wedding day, but they were kind enough to squeeze me into their schedule. They told me that I would have to choose a simple dinner which was chicken, rolls, mashed potatoes, caesar salad, and sautéed vegetables. This is exactly what I wanted and it did not seem simple to me at all. They also provided huckleberry lemonade, coffee, tea, and water. I was so pleased with the food and so were all the guests. They also set up all the food and cut my cake! I highly recommend Willaby's!

Willabys provuded catering for our wedding at Zenith vineyards. We planned a wedding in very short notice (6 weeks). Jean and the staff at Willabys were very helpful in helping me determine the menu and coordinating decor. Food was delicious and the staff used some of our extra flowers to tie in the food presentation with the rest of the wedding decor. The staff was very flexible in changing the floor plan to accommodate weather that was hotter than expected. Will definitely use willabys for future events and catering needs.

This review is being written from the parents of the bride's point of view and I would like to state that we could not have been happier with the professional service provided by Willaby's. My husband and I plus the future bride & groom met with Jean Mateson initially and thereafter with Shannin. Both were extremely helpful and easy to work with. The food was exceptional and our guests were very complimentary. The wedding venue was the Youngberg Hill Vineyard and I can certainly see why Willaby's is their preferred catering company. They worked with us to develop our menu, table linens, etc and their guidance and experience with weddings made all the difference! Willaby's catering was fantastic. Shannin was extremely attentive and easy to work with, not only before the wedding but also on day of. Yay for Jean and Shannin of Willaby's Catering! They were absolutely incredible and an integral part of our wedding day! At our venue, we had the option of 4 caterers. We interviewed all of them and were absolutely blown away by Willaby's. I really loved that as part of their service they offer "day-of-coordination." Which saved me from having to find someone else to be sure our day ran smoothly and help cue us down the aisle.

There are a lot of details and changes when it comes to weddings and Jean and Shannin helped us figure out some of those little details and were amazing each time I emailed them with ANOTHER minor change. Each time that we went to Salem and sat down with Jean to go over things I walked out of there feeling so much better about the little details.
We had Jean come to Grand Hotel in Salem to do our rehearsal. She was great with everyone and we were able to get through the rehearsal quickly with everyone feeling comfortable about what they were supposed to do.

On the day of, Shannin was incredible. She was present but not too in your face. She would just kindly come up and remind me that such and such was happening in 10 minutes and then would come grab me when it was time. She was friendly and super personable. The servers were so wonderful, very friendly and one of them just gave me the nicest compliments on my wedding and the guests that were there. Also, my guests have RAVED about the food. We had some appetizers (pear and brie crostini), the gorgonzola chicken, fall veggie pasta. We had some people cancel last minute and I was worried we were going to have extra food. Nope, it was so good, our guests kept going back for more.

Willaby's was essential in my big day and mad props and a HUGE thank you to Jean and Shannin for being so awesome.

Willaby's did a fabulous job catering and coordinating our wedding! The food served at our wedding was so good, I'm only sad I didn't have time to eat more of it! Jean and her team also handled our event coordination, and from my point of view everything went smoothly on the day. They did a wonderful job keeping everything on schedule. I know there were little hiccups but they did a great job hiding them from the bride, which was much appreciated for this bride. Jean was so helpful throughout our planning process; I was a bit of a neurotic bride, and was probably a little more demanding of her time than some, but she was a pro, and understood our vision for our wedding. I will say that our original tasting with Willaby's did not go well, and from that moment on the food was the thing I was most concerned would not turn out well for our wedding, so my husband and I were both very relieved that the food was so delicious at our wedding! We had so many compliments from guests on the food and the service. Everyone on Willaby's staff was so professional and seemed genuinely happy to be working at our wedding. It was nice to get compliments on our guests behavior from the staff as well, since I know they do weddings every weekend and probably see a lot of crazy stuff!

Jean and Shannon were beyond wonderful in the way that they handled my daughter's wedding. The food was excellent. The tables were set beautifully. The weather on the wedding day turned out to be a monsoon, and this was an outdoor wedding! Jean rented a huge tent, made sure it had the proper lighting, and saved the day. She and Shannon turned what could have been a disaster into a hugely fun celebration. I would recommend their catering and coordinating services to everyone! AAAAA+++++++++++++

Jean, Shannin and the Willaby's team nailed it. We didn't have a huge budget for catering and even had other caterers turn us down. Willaby's was refreshingly down to earth and made our wedding day a huge success. The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious! We were able to customize our menu, making it both cost effective and personal. Jean and Shannin made many helpful suggestions including linens and a DJ. I could not recommend Willaby's enough for any event.

Willaby's provided great service & delicious food. I met with Jean, the owner, and she was very professional and helpful. I attended a tasting along with my parents & 2 bridesmaids where we tried the different entree selections. My wedding guests loved all of the food--the favorite was the smoke tri-tip (there were NO leftovers!!). Willaby's Catering did an exceptional job at catering for our wedding at Youngberg Hill Vineyards this summer. From our first meeting until the very last moments of our wedding night, they were simply amazing! Jean, the owner worked with me from the very beginning to ensure our perfect day. Both Jean and her event manager, Shannin was also super helpful and very responsive throughout all of wedding planning process. On our wedding day, from the minute I arrived at the venue until we were ready to head into our honeymoon suite at the end of the night, I seriously did not have to worry about anything! And the food, all of our guests raved about the food after the event and how great the staff was throughout the whole event. Everything was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! I started working with Jean when I booked our Wedding at Willamette Valley Vineyards which thrilled me!!!! I had tasted her food before and could not WAIT to have her cater the wedding. Willamette Valley Vineyards chose to go in a different direction during our engagement forcing us to move venues. Jean and her staff (Renee) gave me such support and encouragement while my finance and I venue shopped all over again. We finally decided on Zenith Vineyard and because of our circumstances, Willabys got to cater for us there!

Jean is amazing to work with and is so knowledgeable...leave her to do what she does best and you will NOT be disappointed! Our wedding meal was spectacular. We had chicken marsala with roasted red potatoes, a tossed salad, focaccia bread, and bacon onion green beans (added by Jean two weeks before the wedding!). My guests and bridal party complemented me the entire night on the flavor and quality of the food. This is even more of an achievement when you consider that Jean worked with my severe milk allergy - quite a challenge to maintain flavor without the blessing of butter and milk products!

Shannin was the banquet captain at the wedding and attended to all the details beautifully. She even brought up hors de' ouvres to me and my husband while we were taking photos.

You will be so pleased and blessed when you work with Jean. I would hire Willabys again in a HEARTBEAT!

Willabys and the owner, Jean, are as good as it gets. They catered our wedding in July 2012 and everything was spot on, spectacular. From the beginning, Jean understood our goals for full service catering and found a great selection of foods that met our budget. She really wanted our business, which made everything much easier.

Our tasting was a wonderful experience and the food was simply delightful. Her staff was great at accommodating a few requests for special menus (vegetarian and a gluten free) and used all locally sourced, fresh, organic ingredients.

Jean attended our rehearsal and took great care of us, walking everyone through the steps and explaining each part like a seasoned professional. The wedding went off like a dream and everything was as good as promised. Her staff is nice, efficient and very easy going.

If we have another event in her area, we will absolutely cater through Willabys again. This is the kind of business that makes you feel good about the money you've spent.

My husband and I just got married in McMinnville at Youngberg Hill Inn and Winery. Willaby's provided food and "day of" coordination for our event. Jean and her crew were wonderful to work with. The food options and quality were exceptional. Jean was very responsive to our requests as well as our venues'. She was such a pleasure to work with. We have heard from many of the guests at our wedding that our food was some of the best "wedding food" they have ever had. Our menu was simple, elegant and seasonal. The Willaby's staff were very organized and efficient in all aspects of their service. I would definitely recommend them to someone looking for a caterer throughout Salem or Mcminnville.

Willaby's was wonderful to work with for our wedding food. All of our guests commented on how wonderful the food tasted. The owner, Jean Williamson, is very personable, easy to work with, and was extremely accommodating from the first day we walked into her office. Willaby's catered our wedding reception at the Willamette Valley Vineyard August 16th 2009. The food was so delicious and wonderfully presented. The menu consisted of the most delicious dish called chicken gorganzola, the most wonderful green salad, an exotic fruit platter, and bread rolls. We also had a selection of Willamette Valley Vineyard wines, hefeweizen beer, coffee and lemonade. Our guests raved how wonderful the food tasted and talked about it for weeks. The Willaby's staff was very attentive and helpful. We will definately choose Willaby's to cater our next event!

We had our wedding at Youngberg Hill and loved this location and everything they offered. The views, the building, and the people helping were all great. We loved the flexibility that we could select our own caterer or use their preferred one, Willabys, and that we were NOT being charged per person for anything and it was all included in the site fee. Jean from Willabys earned our business and did a great job. her team was professional and responded with every request. They managed the site and ran everything from the room set up to the food and were there working hard all day long. I would recommend them to all brides.

My daughter and her fiance used Willaby's as the caterer for their wedding at Willamette Valley Vineyards. Willaby's Catering did our Willamette Valley Vineyards reception. There were many options for appetizers and we were very happy with our choices. They did a family style service for us since we did not want lines for a buffet and didn't want the formality or price of a plated meal. It was a great way for our guests to begin conversation (pass the steak please) and it allowed everyone to taste what they want without having to choose salmon or steak.

Above and beyond catering and bar team

Willabys catered our wedding last weekend and they were terrific. From early stage planning, to our tasting, to final details and day of--they went above and beyond to make our day special. Willaby's coordinated our rentals as well which was so helpful. The team never made me feel crazy for asking too many questions or double-checking something; instead I always walked away feeling at ease. We did passed apps (people were raving about the steak bites), pizza that was delicious, and the team did our bar. My family keeps saying how kind, friendly, and professional everyone on staff was. The whole night they were ready to jump in to help or tweak things, and they finished off by doing amazing with our clean up! Big thanks to the whole team at Willabys!

The Best Catering Company Out There

We LOVED having Willaby’s cater our wedding! Their food is amazing and there are so many options to choose from! Jean was incredibly responsive and helpful. We did their wood-fired pizzas, carnitas tacos, and late-night mac and cheese. All of which I still dream about. Four months later and our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Just knocked it out of the park

So we were actually planning to get married in June of 2020 with a different caterer, and then... COVID. We postponed our wedding for a year, but unfortunately our caterer had to drop out because of how the pandemic affected business. With about three months' notice, Willaby's stepped in and made our wedding a huge success! Blythe and the team were a delight to work with. I found them to be spendier than other caterers, but you get what you pay for -- the food was incredible and the service and professionalism is unbeatable. Plus, they were willing to work with me and find ideas on how to lower the price, which I greatly appreciate. Willaby's also catered our rehearsal dinner! I was especially impressed with the staff who worked on the wedding day; incredibly friendly and kind and fun to boot! When I missed the salad I was really looking forward to (because of socializing), I had no trouble flagging someone down and they immediately brought me one. Our guests raved about how delicious everything was. I would absolutely recommend Willaby's -- not just for a wedding, but for any special event.

Remarkable for off-site Catered Event

Willaby's was referred to us by a Hotel professional who has worked with Willaby's in the past. Outstanding service throughout planning process. The food is not your typical banquet/catered food fare. Rather the chef is creative, uses local suppliers and the food is delicious. A bit spendy but worth the money to ensure that there was plenty of food and beverage for everyone. Willaby's contributed to making our event special and memorable.

Great caterer/day of coordinator!

We got married at Youngberg Hill in July 2019 could not have been happier with the services provided by Willaby's! Jean and Shannin were really helpful with the initial planning process, and helped us put together a great menu. The food was delicious and our family and friends still talk about it! They also took care of all the details like linens and any other decor we wanted from the venue. Courtney was our day-of coordinator and she was an absolute lifesaver. She made everything seem flawless from the moment she arrived and assured us to not worry about a thing! As the bride and groom she made sure we were well-fed and always had a drink in hand. We had the perfect day and would absolutely recommend Willaby's!

I don't even know where to begin. Willaby's was such an amazing company to work with - not only did they cater our wedding but also provide coordination services. This relieved so much stress on my end as a bride. They took care of everything from the rehearsal to the vendor communication on the day of the wedding.

At our initial meeting, they worked with my husband and I to make a menu that not only fit our budget, but fit our dream wedding dinner: PIZZA! Not only was the pizza yummy, but the flavors were UNIQUE, FRESH, and HIGH QUALITY. My favorite pizza was the Cherry City: Chorizo, Goat cheese, Dried Cherries - sounds crazy but WOW it was tasty. The salads we had to accompany were also incredibly unique, fresh, and used local ingredients. I was so happy with how our food turned out!

Willabys invited us to a tasting event to try some of there food - but because we had a unique menu for our wedding, they also set up a private tasting for my husband and I to try the food we would have at our actual wedding. Both tastings were high quality, and definitely represented the quality we got at our actual wedding.

Willaby's was really great to work with. We changed our mind on the menu probably 3 times and they were really patient and always helpful. We wanted a pizza buffet and for it to be really casual. They don't typically have staff stay and maintain a buffet table when it is only pizza but they were able to do that for us. The staff that was at our wedding were really great. They were all very friendly, polite, and helpful. I definitely recommend WIllaby's. I was able schedule everything through email, which is very helpful for me, and the pizza was awesome!

Willaby's was a joy to work with from the start. Immediately following our venue choice, Jean reached out to us to offer her services. She met with us in person a few times to get a better understanding of our vision for our big day. The customer service Jean and her team offer is amazing. I worked with Jean at Willaby's for my recent wedding at Willamette Valley Vineyards. Although the winery changed coordinators midway through our planning process, Jean was constantly available to help us with questions and concerns and to make sure the day was exactly how we wanted it. She worked with us to create a sophisticated menu showcasing the amazing food available in the Northwest and was incredibly flexible with our numerous special requests. We got many compliments on the delicious food and the professional servers (we had passed appetizers and a plated dinner) who handled our wedding. We weren't able to access the venue the day before the wedding to set up any of decorations, and we were able to leave instructions with Jean to set up our special items so that my family and I could concentrate on other things. I really can't recommend the wonderful folk (especially Jean) at Willaby's highly enough. They will go above and beyond to make sure that your day is exactly how you want it.

Love, love, love Jean! She was great to work with - she is creative, full of ideas and very responsive to what we wanted. We heard great reviews of the food from our guests, but the outcome wasn't necessarily what we had expected. We felt the value for what we got wasn't the money that we had paid, but then again we probably have NO CONCEPT of what it costs to feed that many people and are asured that Jean was very fair with us. I would recommend that everyone do business with her on any level and would love to work with her again in the future!

Great food and service for a wedding with 90 guests

We were so happy with Willaby's catering for our 2024 wedding in Mcminnville. We tried Portland Catering company first and just found their food to be a little lacking in seasoning (seeing as how we had a private tasting with just four people that was a little concerning thinking how they would handle 90!). Our tasting at willabys was MUCH better. the flank steak was delicious, and the korean sliders were amazing. Megan A was also really nice to work with. she helped us with some last minute changes with vegetarian options and some last minute allergies that popped up. We went with flank steak, chicken thighs, vegetarian yakisoba, and the korean sliders and they were all a hit with our guests.

One star taken away only because we had to reach out 1.5ish weeks prior to our wedding to confirm guest numbers, meals, and where to send our second deposit. I felt a little forgotten about until I reached out first.

Good food, wonderful event planning

We were so happy to have Willaby's as our caterers! They catered our wedding of 182 at Zenith Vineyard in September. We worked extremely closely with Shannin and can't say enough wonderful things about her. We had multiple in-person meetings, phone calls, tastings and emails for over a year prior to the wedding. They worked with us to design and decorate the spaces (linens, lighting, basically everything but the flowers), coordinated rentals, worked with outside desserts (pie, tarts, cupcakes and a cake), set up a timeline and prepared food for the bridal party to eat on the day of the wedding. We had constant questions and changes and they were extremely patient and accomodating, balancing our "vision" with their expertise to ensure that we and our guests had a wonderful experience.

On the day of Shannin was present and she and her coworkers adapted quickly to changes in the flow and needs of the guests. They were extremely polite and friendly to everyone at the venue. They also made a great effort to make sure that my husband and I were enjoying the wedding! They set aside plates with the food that we wanted, provided us with desserts for our table and as we completed the ceremony and went to sign the certificate we were given drinks and hors d'oeuvres. The food was delicious and beautifully presented- we did sandwiches prior to the ceremony, appetizers, a full buffet with three main entree options and a late night snack. We had a wonderful experience!

Willaby's was great to work with. We were a little confused that they had to get more wine downtown before our guests had finished eating (we were at a vineyard, and not a crowd that would drink more than the average wedding crowd), but other than that the food and service were very good.

I can't tell you how many compliments we received about our wedding food. They were really great working with our venue and other vendors to ensure everything went off without a hitch. They asked the right questions about seating charts, day-of details, etc. I did feel a bit like I was chasing them toward the end - asking if they had everything they needed and proactively sharing the day-of timeline, etc. I also felt that the clean up was a bit of a blur and not much was communicated. For example, my cake topper was thrown away or nowhere to be found, and I had to ask the staff as they were leaving where the extra cake was stored.

Great Food!

Willaby’s had a great food selection, exactly what my husband and I wanted out of food catering. Megan was absolutely wonderful and sweet to work with, and invited my husband and I to a tasting before. The other coordinator and I had some miscommunication the night before the wedding that made me panicky and pissed off a lot of my family members, which is what couldn’t make this a perfect 5 star. Willaby’s servers made up for it, and fixed everything right up, everything else was smooth and wonderful. Friendly server staff, at the wedding, who fit the awesome vibe of the celebration.

Delicious Food

The food from Willaby's was absolutely delicious—by far the best we tried during our search for caterers. Working with them during the planning process was enjoyable overall, though we did face some challenges. They did not handle rental coordination and missed some details in the contract, which caused us frustration. As a result, we had to remove rental coordination and bartending from their contract entirely. Additionally, their location in Salem, OR, and our wedding being in the Columbia River Gorge led to higher travel costs and required several adjustments to our day-of plans. Despite these hiccups, the food and staff on our wedding day were fantastic. Many guests raved about how delicious the food was, with some calling it the best wedding food they’d ever had. We recommend Willaby's for their exceptional food, particularly if your event is close to Salem, OR.

I originally picked Willaby's because they were very prompt with their responses with me. They were great people to work with throughout the planning process and they accommodated us by letting us provide the fish for the wedding (we had crab stuffed salmon and my husband is from Alaska and decided to go back home to catch all the fish for the wedding, and they let us do that!)

A couple things went wrong...not sure if it was from lack of communication or something else but we asked for prime rib at our wedding. We assumed a carving station but it was served pre-cut in a dish and they ran out of prime rib before all the tables went through. I didn't expect to spend thousands of dollars and run out of food for my guests. But a carving station was not discussed, just assumed. And apparently they assumed we wanted it served in a serving dish. And no au jus or horseradish for the prime rib either! Then again, this was not discussed, just assumed. But as a catering business I wouldn't expect them to serve prime rib dry either. Also, if you have any vegans, they have no alternative menu and they just serve them salads. My guest was still hungry after his dinner.

Another criticism I have was the low quality liquor they served. We had our wedding at a winery and served purchased $2000 in wine alone. We did a no host bar for those liquor lovers. I had asked what type of liquor they will be serving and they didn't really tell me what kind, they just said that their standard is usually ok with people. So I went with that. Come wedding day and we're getting complaints of the quality of liquor! It was stuff you would drink in high school! Super cheap liquor and they were serving it for $8-9 a glass. Not impressed at all.

Event went smoothly and the coordination with the main ladies who run willabys was very easy and they were attentive. My only complaints which I think people should consider that really put me off after I spent quite a lot on their services was that 1. My husband and I took a break from our meal to try and visit with the guests and the waiters took our half finished meals without asking if we were finished. 2. Every time we put a drink down at our table and then went to dance a waiter would come by and take it. They would be half full glasses. We lost a lot of alcohol due to this. 3. I never once had one of the servers ask me if I wanted a drink. I saw then serve my other guests which was nice but the only time any of the staff spoke to me was to try and illicit me to buy more alchol. Very dissapointed in the wait staff. Really wish I could have enjoyed my meal and drinks. Otherwise, food was pretty good. The staff was timley. Just wish it had been a little better service for me and my husband.

I used Willaby's for my wedding catering. I was super excited to use Willaby's because the owner seemed fun and exciting to work with. Willaby's persued me and was easy to get a hold of. However, after signing with them it was increasingly difficulty to get a hold of and only open a couple of days a week. Even when I tried to come and pay for catering they were unavailable for me to drop off payments. I would have to make appointments to pay for my catering in the middle of the week. Also, I emailed my photographer for a timeline of my wedding day and emailed it to the caterer (not realizing they had created a timeline because I was not informed). The caterer seemed put off and upset by the timeline. Unable and unwilling to work with some of the requests in the timeline because "it wasn't typical." The food on the wedding day was delicious and I received many compliments, but because my caterer never checked in and clarified with me rentals my napkins were forgotten and none of my guests received a napkin on my wedding day. The coordinator and caterer staff allowed all of the wedding guests into the wedding reception (therefore seeing me in my dress before the wedding) even though I had asked them not to. While the catering staff were standing around, my photographers were having to corall wedding guests and send them elsewhere, creating less time for photos, and more chaos. While the food was good I would not use this wedding vendor again because frankly they were not well organized, flexible, and did not check in with me on key details before the wedding day. I am the customer and feel like I should get more service when spending thousands of dollars on a wedding vendor. Make sure you pay for quality and aren't just paying someone to send you contracts.

The price was reasonable and they offer quite a variety of services. However, they take too long to respond to e-mails and phone calls. On the day of, changes that I had made were actually not made which caused a great deal of stress. They don't seem to care about their clients and disregarded all of my concerns. Would not recommend.

I was very dissatisfied with willabys catering. I planned my wedding from out of state, and i had never done anything like it before so I had a lot of questions on how things worked ect. The responsiveness was horrible, with yes or no answers, very short, not really even explaining anything. The food was very expensive, it was good but dealing with jean up until the day of the wedding was so frustrating. For the amount of money they charge the service should be spectacular & it was almost horrible coordinating with them. My florist even called two days before the wedding & asked if her staff could pack some vases & candle votives in boxes after the wedding, since they were hired for clean up & her response was maybe, but no guarantee. I would go with another caterer with out question.

The worst!

I reached out to Willaby's Catering and told them how disappointed I was for the lack of communication before my wedding day. They never told me who was going to be my event manager for the day. They didn't even apologize. All they basically said was thanks for the feedback. It's like okay, good for you so you won't screw up somebody's else's wedding. But how does that make things right on my end?! Instead, I got no response. I wish I never had them! They did not care about my wedding in the first place. When it came to my big day, my event manager even made decisions which I disagreed with. They may have great food, but do not trust your event manager.

We were forced by our wedding venue to work with Willaby’s as our ‘wedding planner’ even though we had already decided not to have them do our catering because their sample food was inedible. As far as wedding planning goes, Willaby’s was completely disorganized. It is unbelievable what a racket Willaby’s and our venue are running…we paid thousands of dollars for a ‘wedding planner’ but we ended up doing all of the wedding planning with our caterer while the Willaby’s folks stood around and didn’t do anything useful. Specifically, Jean was unprofessional bordering on fraud - she charged us by the hour for time she was at another venue taking care of another wedding! It rained heavily the day before our wedding and one area of the venue was a mudpit - when we asked Jean if she thought we could get some flooring to cover the area she was confused and said, ‘I never thought of that’. A wedding planner in the Willamette Valley who has never thought of what you need to do in case it rains?! We found her the name of a company to come and install temporary flooring…the examples of ineptitude go on and on. I would avoid Willaby’s altogether and get a planner who actually does what you pay them for.
