Incredible Staff, Beautiful Venue, and a Stress-Free Day
Whitney's Inn hosted my 70-person winter wedding, and it was absolutely perfect.
We fell in love with the venue the moment we visited—it’s charming, unique, and cozy, with a rustic character that made it feel magical. One of the highlights was having the majority of our guests stay on-site, which created an intimate atmosphere and turned our wedding into a full weekend celebration. The staff at Whitney’s Inn were accommodating and friendly, which made the experience even better.
Our journey with Whitney’s Inn was a little unique because the property was sold just a week after we signed our contract. Don, the original wedding coordinator, assured us that nothing would change for the worse and that he’d stay on through our wedding, which was a huge relief. We also ended up having 2 wedding coordinators, as Jessi (the new WC) was introduced to use over the summer and was nothing short of amazing.
Jessi was super responsive, attentive, and supportive throughout the entire planning process. She worked with me on every detail and made sure everything came together beautifully. We had hoped for a short outdoor ceremony, but the day turned out to be absolutely frigid. Jessi and Don immediately put my mind at ease, transforming the barn into a warm, cozy, and stunning ceremony space. They handled everything with care and precision, ensuring my day was completely stress-free.
Our guests are still raving about the weekend—how special, fun, and relaxed everything felt. If you’re looking for a laid-back, unique venue with tons of charm and incredible staff, Whitney’s Inn is the perfect choice.

What a wonderful place for a wedding
I have been dreaming of having a wedding here for many years, and it did not disappoint! Having everything on site was so convenient and really made the experience for myself and my guests that much better! Jessi was the absolute best wedding planner/day of coordinator that a bride could ever ask for. She helped to make sure that every detail of my day was perfect! Would highly recommend getting married here if you can!!

So much love for Whitney's Inn
My husband and I will forever have so much love for Whitney's Inn!! We had our wedding here on 11/11/23 and Don and their entire team made our wedding an absolute dream come true. From our first visit to the venue, to returning for the tasting event, to the big weekend itself..this place became a second home to us. It was the most charming, warm and cozy venue for hosting our rustic fall wedding, and the prices were more than reasonable compared to other venues we were seeing. Don and his team were receptive and willing to do anything within their power to address every idea, question, detail and concern that we had (Don literally upgraded all the string lights before our wedding because he knew how much we loved them). It was also important to us to find an LGBTQ+ Supporting venue, and we truly felt part of the Whitney's Inn family by the end.
In November, we had no idea if we were going to have our ceremony at the Woodland Ceremony Site with the cold. After some back and forth planning, we made the call to do it outside on the wedding day, and Don and the entire team switched gears and had everything ready in no time! Not only was it the right call, but despite the cold, we had blankets for our guests and they couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the ceremony was (and the pictures certainly back that up!) Having accommodations on-site (with so many nearby) was a no-brainer, including an actual salon for the women in our wedding party!! It felt like a little getaway with all of our favorite people, and there was so much for guests to do and explore on their own time. Having breakfast with everyone in the morning was also one of the more special moments from the weekend that I'll always remember. We went to the Red Fox for our rehearsal dinner, but they offer that as well!! Literally, it's a one-stop shop venue and Don has a great connection to vendors (shoutout to Dutch Bloemen Winkel and Autumn Nomad).
At first glance, it may seem humble and quaint, but it truly transformed for the wedding, and people could not stop talking about how special our wedding weekend was. The staff brought so much energy and charisma, and were fantastic! There are so many spaces for guests to enjoy sweet little moments. The barn was already gorgeous, but became totally transformed once all the lights, fireplace and candles, and flowers were all out. Can't speak highly enough. We were so sad once it was all over, and know that we'll be back for a visit in the future.

Absolutely gorgeous, unique, and cozy!
Whitney’s inn is a must for your wedding!! I fell in love immediately when I toured it. We got married here on 10/21/23 and it was so perfect. It did end up raining, but Don, the owner, made sure that we had a beautiful indoor space that was better than I even imagined! The staff is very professional and friendly. They answered all of our questions day off and made sure the day went smoothly! Communication is amazing and trust me, once you see this venue, you’ll understand how gorgeous and unique it is. Also the food was INCREDIBLE. All my guests were absolutely amazed with the barn, the food, and just the atmosphere in general. We had a blast the entire weekend hanging out on the property! I will definitely be back to stay at the inn and visit all the amazing people we met there! If you’re looking for a super unique and beautiful spot to get married, seriously look no further! Whitney’s is top tier!

The perfect wedding Venue
Don and his team are unmatched, a combination of perfection and relaxed! We took over the property for the whole weekend and would not change a thing. Rehearsal dinner was great, ceremony was perfect and the reception was so much fun! Don took care of every single detail leaving you comfortable and stress free. The venue is gorgeous, the food was delicious we would choose this venue again and again!

Friendly, Understanding, Helpful, Amazing!
I can’t rave about Don, Maria, and the entire Whitney’s Inn staff enough! Everyone was so helpful and friendly the entire weekend. They made sure everything was taken care of, even our crazy friends and families’ last minute changes and requests. Maria’s salon is the perfect space for the bridesmaids to hang out and get ready and we used one of the cabins for the groomsmen. And, the food at the SHP is incredible! All of our guests commented on how wonderful their dinner was. Plus, everyone on the staff was just so friendly! Willing to help with anything and always smiling. 12/10!

Wouldn't choose any other venue!
Don put his blood, sweat and tears into making our wedding weekend the most spectacular weekend of our lives. It was truly priceless to have all of our most important people on site for the entire weekend. Don ran everything flawlessly from breakfast each morning, to our rehersal and lovely welcome dinner on Friday evening, to our stunning wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday evening. There was an issue with one of the rooms and we were notified immediately before check-in on Friday and the issue was remedied. Several of our guests room ACs weren't functioning properly so the staff had fans and window AC units on standby. The morning of our wedding, our DJ suffered a medical emergency and Don immediately got on the phone to try to secure a last minute DJ service. During our initial meeting with Don, the thing that stuck out to me the most was Don's statement "if you're looking for hoity toity, we are not your venue". It's a 200 year old beautifully rustic space with lots of character, and Don and his staff will absolutely transform it into a weekend wedding to remember!

Wonderful Venue and Staff!!
My daughter was married at Whitney's on 06.18.22 and it was the perfect weekend. Don and crew were wonderful! The food was delicious, and the venue was perfect for gathering friends and family. Their hospitality was outstanding!! We had so much fun!!! I highly recommend Whitneys!!!!!!

A Perfect Weekend
We had our wedding at Whitneys on 6.18.2022 and LOVED it. We loved having the inn to ourselves with family and friends, it made for a truly perfect wedding weekend! The food and service at our welcome party, reception, and farewell breakfast was exceptional. The staff at the Inn was SO friendly and accommodating. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.

Have your wedding at Whitney’s Inn
Our wedding was hands down the best day of our lives and a huge part of that was due to the team at Whitney’s Inn! During the planning process, Lori was incredibly helpful in answering all of our detailed questions in preparation for the wedding. And as we got closer to the wedding weekend, Jennifer and Don also got more involved to ensure everything was coming along to our liking. I met with Don soon before the wedding weekend and he did a great job of putting me at ease! He gave his opinion where needed and was super flexible on things I requested as well. We first had our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding at Whitney’s inn and they did such an amazing job from the food to the drinks. Don led the rehearsal portion and explained the process so well, it was such a weight off my shoulders having him take the lead! The wedding day ran so smoothly - from the hair and makeup in the salon on site to Don and co ensuring we stayed on our timeline. The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing and our guests went home raving about it. The next morning Whitney’s also provided breakfast which was a great time to say goodbye to most of our guests. Whitney’s inn is different from other venues because they act as a one stop shop where you can have all your events in one place (rehearsal dinner, hair/makeup, wedding, breakfast). And on top of all that, a majority of your guests can stay on right on site at the inn! They are a well oiled machine and know how to throw a good wedding. Could not recommend them enough, thank you to the Whitney’s Inn team for everything you did to make our weekend such a success!

Do Yourself a Favor! Whitney's Inn at Jackson!
We recommend everyone consider Whitney’s Inn at Jackson for their wedding!
This past month, our big day (well, big weekend) was celebrated in Whitney’s onsite rustic barn, the Shovel Handle Pub. Our guests didn’t hold back, they loved Whitney’s!
After my finance and I engaged in 2020 we embarked on what others have heralded as a stressful and arduous process; the search for a wedding venue. Our search criteria was simple; tasty food, aesthetic and comfortable venue, reasonably priced, and did we mention great food?
Fortunately for us, we connected with venue owner/operator Don Bilger early in our search and he helped to make the choice easy. Whitney’s Inn at Jackson was where we wanted to enjoy the wedding rehearsal, ceremony, reception, AND farewell breakfast with 100 of our closest family and friends.
During the planning process, Don and his team members Lori and Jennifer were both consultative and responded timely as we orchestrated our wedding weekend:
Don helped us to block off rooms both at the venue and locally in greater Jackson NH
All of the referrals provided were excellent, from groovy DJ Michael O’Neill to delicious Elvios Pizza for the reception's late night snack salvation
He helped our friend become an ordained minister to better embrace an intimate ceremony
and much more!
We live south of Boston, MA about 3 hours away and many of our guests ventured far and wide to join us. Jennifer and her team hosted a “Welcome Dinner” for 75 guests the night of the rehearsal which gave us the unique opportunity to spend more time with our guests. It was almost like we had (2) weddings in one!
Bartenders both nights were friendly, quick to make a well poured cocktail, and made having an open bar fun for all.
The afternoon of the wedding day ceremony, mother nature changed her mind only 5 minutes before the walk down the aisle, initially set to take place in the landscaped, wooded area. The Whitney’s Inn staff moved quickly to prepare the alternate, indoor ceremony site and in short order, the space looked beautiful, guests were seated, and we all enjoyed our ceremony.
Many of our guests are “foodies” and throughout the night we were told by many that the Whitney's kitchen presented the best wedding fare they have ever had! Do yourselves, and your guests the favor by passing the lamb lollipops and petite crab cakes. We are still in negotiations with Don in an effort for him to share with us the recipe for the steak tips. I expect you will find yourself in the same position! They were incredible.

Lived up to my daughter's dream wedding
Whitney's Inn far surpassed our expectations. When we visited Whitney's a year ago and met with Don, Jamie and Jeff knew this was where they wanted to get married. Don was so down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and made us feel so comfortable, a true testament of the philosophy Don and his team represent, that it was Jamie and Jeff's wedding and we will create your wedding vision to make your day special! The venue is truly magical...starting with an inn with staff that truly exemplified a warm, professional attitude especially with our constant requests, to the beautiful grounds complete with a stone fireplace and running brook to create their vision of a romantic wedding in the woods, and the reception in the Shovel Handle Pub was amazing, with superb food, great service and it complimented everything Jamie and Jeff were hoping for! Don's attention to detail is remarkable. There were so many moving parts, as well all know with weddings, and Don and his team were there every step of the way. Everyone had such a great time, and we are still receiving compliments on what a wonderful wedding this was. I would highly recommend Whitney's Inn for a wedding, and any other events type of events, i.e. showers, reunions, anniversary or birthday parties, etc. Thank you for making Jamie and Jeff's wedding day the best day ever!

Fairy tale wedding!
We're so happy that we decided to get married at the Whitney! We couldn't have dreamt of a more perfect setting. My husband and I and all of our friends and family who joined us during our stay at the Whitney were absolutely staggered by the beauty and charm of this place. Many people described the woodland ceremony and Shovel Handle as a 'fairy-tale setting' and we couldn't agree more. The look of awe on our guests faces when they stepped into the Shovel Handle pub and saw the uniqueness of the space and all the beautiful lights was priceless. Don and his team made sure everything ran perfectly for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself. The staff is so experienced with hosting weddings; on the morning of the wedding when things are hectic and vendors are running late and the bride is getting overwhelmed, Don and his team knew exactly how to smooth things over to get everything back on track. Everyone was so calm and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. All of our guests couldn't stop raving about the delicious food, the comfortable rooms and hospitality. We will definitely be back to celebrate anniversaries, as will many of our friends and family who, like us, absolutely fell in love with this magical place!

Absolutely perfect weekend!
I cannot find the words to describe how incredible this venue is! Don is amazing at running weddings! I knew when I first looked at the Whitney's Inn that I loved the venue, the woods, the Shovel Handle, and the fact that our guests could take over the whole inn for the weekend. Don made everything so easy to plan and coordinate and was great to work with when we had to postpone because of Covid. My bridesmaids and I utilized the salon downstairs and Maria and Nina were a dream to work with (and they worked miracles on all of us!) My wedding was perfect from start to finish and I cannot think of anything I would have done differently. The pig roast welcome dinner kicked off the weekend with lots of fun and the food was delicious! We have had so many guests tell us it was the most fun they had ever had! I wish I could go back and relive every second! I highly recommend the Whitney's Inn and working with Don and Maria!

Perfect Setting for our special day!
The property at Whitney's is beautiful. It was the perfect setting for our relaxed, country style wedding. The staff was so gracious. Don, the owner, was very accommodating and did not hold us back from anything we wanted. The options were endless. The food was amazing. Best venue EVER!
If you are looking for a rustic style wedding - look no further! Whitney’s is the most beautiful, relaxed, and affordable venue! We loved how the whole weekend, we did not have to leave the inn and could have each event throughout the weekend at different locations on the property! They have a hair salon onsite which is also super convenient and they do a great job. We loved having the Inn to ourselves for the weekend as we were able to take over the whole Inn with just our guests! Not only is the venue & location beautiful, but the staff are genuine, hard working, and actually care about making your day perfect. Don, the owner, works hands on during your wedding to make sure it all goes smoothly. Also the food is delicious!! Highly recommend!

Could Not Have Asked for a Better Wedding Venue!
From the moment we stepped into Whitney’s Inn, we absolutely loved the feel of the venue and the friendliness of the staff. Don was fantastic at responding quickly and at working with us (and our many questions) and preparing for the day. Between Don, Joe, Dana, Lori, and Jennifer everything was handled very well, making it much easier for us to plan our wedding. The weekend went so smoothly, everyone enjoyed themselves, and our guests can’t stop raving about the absolutely delicious food! My husband Scott and I were blown away by how awesome Don and his staff Whitney’s Inn were. Everything was beyond perfect, they made things so easy and stress free for us. They we very accommodating and so easy to work with. I honestly cannot say enough about how nice everything was and how well organized they were. We feel beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to get married here. We can’t wait to go back and stay again someday. We loved everything about this venue, highly recommend choosing them for your wedding!

I recently got married at this location and had the best weekend of my life! The rooms are super cute and the staff is so pleasant and wonderful. Where wedding dreams come true!
There isn't a single bad thing I could say about Don and his entire crew at Whitney's. We got married there on July 13 and had the entire place to ourselves and our guests the whole weekend. When we started our search we originally planned to stay close to home (we live about 40 miles north of Boston) but found that every venue we went to was lacking in something.... atmosphere... amenities... food... the price tag... we searched everywhere... and we almost put a deposit down on a place near home just to be done with the search - as it gets so exhausting. But a coworker of mine who'd gotten married at Whitney's suggested we just go up to Jackson as a last ditch look and oh boy are we glad we did. We got married in the wooded area across from the Inn. It was THE PICTURE of wooded fairyland that I had in my head the entire planning process. The staff are INCREDIBLE each and every single one of them. Don (the owner) is a wedding master mind and made us feel so comfortable and at ease through the entire process. And we spent a FRACTION of what we would have for a "one night only" affair back at home. If I could rate Whitney's at 10 stars I would. Leaving on Sunday after brunch I actually wept - pleading with Father Time to go back 72 hours so we could do it all again. Do yourselves a huge favor and go check them out. Perfect New Hampshire Venue
I cannot say enough about our experience at Whitney’s for our December wedding. The food, staff and whole experience was more than we could have dreamed. Don and his staff made everyone feel at home at the inn for our wedding weekend. Not one detail was missed and the whole event was so well run we never worried for a second. The venue is the most picturesque New Hampshire mountain location and I cannot say enough about the food (family and friends are still raving) but the most valuable to us was how amazing the staff was. The staff thought of everything and was nothing but kind and responsive. I cannot imagine having spent the most important day of my life anywhere else.

We've known Don for years and have been to the pub and had multiple parties with him for our office, so I know he does a great job....but what they did for our wedding was above and beyond spectacular! The planning beforehand was so easy entering everything we needed and wanted on a google doc that would update immediately. I swear Don has ESP or something because every time on the wedding weekend I had any question or hesitation about where I needed to be, he would appear and take care of EVERYTHING. The whole team took so much stress off of my plate with their skill and finesse. The food is AMAZING - I've never been to a wedding where the food was really great, but the steak tips and chicken cordon bleu are to die for. And to top it all off the venue was beyond gorgeous with the fall colors and twinkle lights throughout the rafters of the barn. We had multiple vendors who hadn't done any weddings there say they've never seen a venue go so above and beyond and that they will be recommending the Whitney to their clients too! I wish we could get married there over and over!

I cannot recommend Whitney's Inn enough for your wedding venue! If you luck outdoors, rustic, and fall foliage, a Fall wedding at Whitney's is a no brainer! All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, and you have the entire property to yourself. They have done so many weddings and have so many different options for you, that it makes planning stress free. I'd work with Whitney's over and over again, and don't have one complaint! Tons of our guests said it was the best venue they have ever been to and I have to agree! We had the most amazing wedding weekend, and a lot of that goes to Whitney's and their staff for making it so perfect. Thank you thank you thank you!

As we are recently married, my husband and I continue to get the question: "Was your wedding all that you thought it would be?" And we can answer, without a moment of hesitation, that it was so much better than we ever could have imagined. Whitney's Inn and Shovel Handle Pub will forever hold a very special place in our hearts- the rustic setting, incredible food, compassionate staff really made our experience amazing! I am a very detail oriented person and I can honestly say that Don and his staff out did me. Any time I thought, oh! we need to set this up or we need to make sure this special accommodation is made for a guest- Don and his staff were already on it! They work together as a team and pay attention to the little things. The setting (inside and out) is both unique and magical. The entire staff at Whitney's Inn is nothing short of spectacular- not only are they great at what they do, but they are kind and friendly and willing to go out of their way to make it happen! A Whitney's Inn wedding is a one of a kind gig and we are so grateful to have experienced it!!

Choosing Whitney's Inn & the Shovel Handle Pub as the location for our wedding was the easiest decision we made. It was the only place my (now) husband and I toured! We fell in love the first time we visited- the location was perfect, the scenery beautiful, and even on that first visit the staff were so helpful and friendly! We loved the fact that everything could be done on site, and that our guests could stay right there at the Inn or sister Inn (The Inn at Jackson). Don was extremely helpful throughout the whole process, offering us tips and was flexible in making sure our day was exactly as we pictured and ran smoothly. Although he wasn't there for our actual wedding day, his staff stepped right up and did an outstanding job ensuring our day was perfect!! Because we held our wedding in April during the Inn's off-season (which saved us a decent amount of money- thanks Don for the Spring Wedding Sale!), the Inn was basically only open for our wedding and our guests, so we had complete access to the grounds and the staff were so accommodating and trusting. They even let my husband and I stay an extra night after the wedding as a mini honeymoon, which gave us some time to collect ourselves, get organized, and enjoy the Jackson area before making the trek home. Honestly, everything about this venue was amazing- the food, the location, and the staff made our big day unforgettable. We couldn't have chosen a better venue. We highly recommend Whitney's Inn!!

I wanted our wedding to be fun and relaxed while still being a special event. Whitney's Inn and it's staff made our wedding everything that I could imagine and ask for. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful and accommodating the staff was. The wedding shoppe package was totally worth it. To really prove my point...I never had a single "bridezilla" or a totally stressed moment throughout the entire journey.

My high school sweetheart and I just got married here on June 23rd, 2018. To say that this is the perfect venue is an understatement. Don and his staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was as perfect as we imagined it would be. Don even calmed me, a bride nervous about the rain, right before the ceremony. He made sure we got the fairy tale ceremony and reception we always dreamt of. Most people may say you can’t go wrong with this venue but I would say you can’t go right unless you have your special day at Whitney’s. If you are looking for a rustic wedding out of a storybook, this is your spot. Everyone at Whitney’s goes above and beyond to make sure your day is special. I can’t say enough nice words about this place because it is the best place ever. Our guests can’t stop talking about how it was the best wedding ever! This is the most amazing venue. They are true experts. I was not stressed at all planning me wedding, I trusted Don and his staff fully. Lori was amazing too! The food was out of this world, the staff was nothing short of spectacular. They do not nickel and dime you. Everyone had an amazing time and . This venue is super accommodating and amazing. I am not sure why you would chose to get married anywhere else. If I could do it all over again, I would not change a thing!

The Whitney's Inn was the perfect venue to host our special day. We originally wanted the fall wedding, but a March winter wedding was so much better! The Woodland outdoor ceremony was beyond a fairy-tale. The staff is a family and they are so intentional with their work. Our wedding weekend far exceeded our expectations! Whitney's Inn was absolutely the best place for a wedding! Don and all the staff are all so wonderful and accommodating. They really do their best to make all your wishes a reality and make the Inn and Pub feel like your own home for the weekend. All of our family and friends commentated on how great the venue was and what a relaxed and fun filled wedding weekend we had due to all the staff and amazing venue. Whitney's Inn made our wedding a literal dream come true! As a very anxious bride, Don's laid back demeanor was a HUGE help throughout the whole process. His calmness kept me calm and reassured, as well as my anxious Dad! :) The setting was beyond gorgeous, and our friends and family have not stopped talking about how amazing it was. We got married in the woodland site, and walking down that long path through the trees felt like an actual fairytale! One of the biggest reasons we chose Whitney's (besides the laidback atmosphere) was because we knew we would be the ONLY wedding for the whole weekend. It's not a wedding factory where there are weddings Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. The inn had our whole attention for the entire weekend, which allowed us and or guests to relax and fully enjoy a weekend away in the white mountains. The food was incredible, which is another thing our guests keep talking about even months later! I honestly can't say enough good things about Whitney's Inn, Don and his staff. They took all the stress away and everything went just the way we had hoped it would! We were even able to honor our Irish traditions of having a whiskey toast instead of the standard wedding champagne toast. If you're looking for a laid-back but very well run affair, this is the place to go! You will not be disappointed, and neither will your guests!!

We had our wedding at Whitney's Inn on September 30th, 2017. I could not have asked for a more perfect place to have our wedding. We were beyond happy that we chose this place to have our special day at. When we first viewed the venue, we loved Don & his staff and their casual personalities and knew immediately that this place was for us. Don & his staff worked with us for room & food accommodations & also gave great tips & tricks to get rooms booked. We live 2 hours away from the venue so planning for a venue you have only seen a handful of times was difficult. But our recap meeting with Don was beyond helpful & calmed my nerves. Don was in control of everything & it all went smoothly. My husband and I are more than grateful for Don & Whitney's Inn & Shovel Handle Pub. We will forever recommend Whitney's Inn & Don & his staff to future couples getting married!! If Don happens to read this, I hope he knows we are coming back soon to visit & enjoy to the pub again! My fondest wedding planning memory is how my husband's face lit up when he saw the inside of the barn at Whitney's. I knew we found a place we weren't just agreeing on, but loved! We had several tours booked with other venues, saw Whitney's, and cancelled them all.
What makes this venue stand out above others is it's capacity to provide a whole wedding weekend with family and friends beyond the event itself. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception there which made things less stressful for us and easy on our guests. From being able to share breakfasts together in the morning and bonfires at night, it was great making memories and being able to have time with our guests.
Additionally, Don and his staff made us feel like family and were very accommodating. Whitney's will always hold a special place in our hearts! It's a place I can see us coming back to visit for years!

From our first step onto the property of Whitney's Inn on May 22, 2016 we knew this was going to be our place. The Inn itself has so much character and charm, with each room taking on a personality of its own. The property is stunning and features a pond, a fire pit, multiple spots to chose from to hold your ceremony with their own unique features and benefits, as well as an amazing four level barn. The food was fantastic (steak tips were the best I've ever had) and the staff was friendly and accommodating. My beautiful wife and I had our wedding at Whitney's Inn on Saturday, 9/23/2017. Working with Don and the team at Whitney's Inn was absolutely effortless, such a pleasant experience. We highly recommend Whitney's Inn to anyone looking to have an amazing time with friends and family in such a gorgeous location.

Cannot say enough good things about this venue. BOOK IT! We found this venue from attending a friends wedding and we hope someday someone from our wedding gets married there too! The Whitney's Inn staff are professional, accommodating, and an absolute pleasure to work with. The entire wedding planning process from start to finish was a breeze. Don, the owner, runs the show as your day of wedding coordinator, he was flexible and gave us the direction we needed. And boy, trying to coordinate and mobilize an entire wedding party is like trying to herd a bunch of cats, but he did it with ease and a smile on his face. I am happy to say that all the vendors they recommended were wonderful to work with as well. The wedding weekend went off with out a hitch. The grounds were beautiful and it feel like it was our home. The fire pit is a wonderful amenity. We loved having our guests stay onsite. No one would had to get behind the wheel after the festivities which was a relief and a blast. It was great for everyone wake up in the morning and congregate in the dinning room for breakfast at their leisure. We got married in the woodland ceremony site and it was AMAZING. Our guest keep remarking about what a magical ceremony we had and it was so unique and like no one else's! The barn is a PERFECT back drop for pictures. There is not much you have do to do inside site to make it nice- all the twinkle lights inside are amazing. Love the different levels of the barn; there are some great vantage points. Now lets talk about the highlight of my weekend....THE STEAK TIPS. All of the food was amazing, from apps to dinner, but the steak tips are the best you'll ever have. You cannot not go wrong with these. We even stayed Sunday night and went back to the Pub for more steak tips :) Anyways , the entire pub staff are great. They are hard workers and its obviously they really care about what they do. My husband and I can't wait to go back to the Whitney's Inn and Shovel handle Pub.

My Wife and I think this venue was great! The venue has multiple ceremony sites and a really cool barn to party in after the formalities. Most of our guests were able to stay right on property and that was very important to us. No need to have loved ones trying to navigate mountain roads after a full day of celebrating. The food and service from this close knit staff are top notch too! Reach out to Don and book your weekend soon as the choice weekends will book up far in advance. We got married on August 26th and it was perfect!

The food is fantastic. The grounds are stunning. The staff became family for the weekend.
Our ceremony was outside at 4:30. At 4:29 the skies opened up and it POURED. Don and his staff were able to get the guests, who were already seated, back across the street and dried off. As soon as the rain stopped they went out and dried all the benches off, got the guests reseated, and had me walking down the aisle to the gorgeous ceremony we were hoping for in no time. They literally did not miss a beat.
Our guests are still talking about what a good time they had. Everyone had a enjoyed exploring the different levels of the pub during the reception. The dance floor was always packed, and the charming white Christmas lights wrapped around all the gorgeous woodwork made for some fabulous photos.
The food is just fantastic. The bacon wrapped scallops were fresh, the steak tips were cooked perfectly. I loved that I didn't have to bring in a caterer, they really make everything easy. We had signature cocktails, and when we asked for a fresh mint mojito they said "Sure, we'll just use some from our fresh mint garden!" Seriously. They have a MINT GARDEN.
More than anything, it was their attention to detail that really won us over. I had several special needs for family members and a kids meal in another room, and they accommodated seamlessly. They did small things I didn't even think to ask them to do ( moved my paper straws from the cocktail bar into the pub, arranged mine and the girls' bouquets on a little table so we wouldn't loose them. They even wrapped up my husband and I's dinner and put it in our room! ). There was so much care in everything they did. We felt the love!
It really was a fairy tale. I will talk about this place for the rest of my life. Don and his staff are certainly in the right business, and it was truly a wonderful thing to know everything was taken care of on our special day.

From the start, my husband and I knew we wanted to get married in the mountains of New Hampshire. A friend recommended Whitney's Inn with strong praise! We searched the website and checked out some photos. That was it! We immediately emailed Don, the owner of Whitney's Inn and our professional relationship began. Don had great advice for us as we were just beginning our wedding planning. He helped us choose the right date, and we booked site unseen. This was early December, 2015. We weren't able to visit until mid-January. We pulled up to the inn where the ground was covered in slush and it was pouring rain, however as we walked inside, we felt like we were home. My husband and I immediately knew we had chosen the right venue for our wedding in that moment. From the moment we sat down with Don for our first face-to-face meeting we felt comfortable in his and his staff's capable hands. Don is accommodating and always makes sure that his wedding couples are as happy as possible. over our 18 months of planning, I had a hundred questions, yet Don and his staff, including Joe and Michele, always had an answer for me. The Whitney's Inn staff helped me stay calm in moments of bridal crisis. When the big day came, it was raining yet again. My dream was to get married at the gorgeous woodland setting across the street. Don assured me he would have his staff on-call to switch to an indoor ceremony at the drop of a hat (or within a half hour of the ceremony). He let me push it down to the wire, and though we got rained in, the staff set up an amazing ceremony space in the Birches Room for us. It was the most beautiful day ever! Our guests had a fabulous time. Everyone raved about the food and drinks! The Shovel Handle Pub food was magnifique! We were given autonomy over the sound system as well, and we danced the night away! Thank you Whitney's inn for everything! Don, Joe, Michele, and everyone on staff involved in our wedding, we couldn't have done it without you!

I can't put in words how grateful & happy I am with my experience with Whitney's Inn. Through the entire process, Don and his team really had our wedding planned like a well oiled machine. From the time I met Don, I had 115% trust in him and the team. Planning process things worth noting: 1. You are provided a Google Doc where you can monitor who is booking hotel rooms. 2. They ask you to complete a detailed questionnaire covering all the little details, from your set up to late night pizza. I felt like every single person at the Inn knew every detail of my wedding because of this (and was MUCH appreciated). 3. You are able to attend a food tasting, where you get a true feel for all the appetizer & entree options. It is worth mentioning again... their food is incredible. It is not wedding food, it is amazing restaurant food. Everyone was raving! 4. Another major piece worth noting is that Don, the owner, works with you through the planning process. I do not know any other venue where the owner is so hands on and involved. This provided a major piece of mind for me.
The wedding weekend was so far beyond anything I could hope for, highlights including: 1. Don was there handling all the logistics. He personally escorted our wedding party to where we needed to be. He really runs the show, and you will be so glad he did. Don is an expert in what works, provides great suggestions while also listening to your wants/requests. 2. The staff were caring and helpful to both me and our guests. For me personally, it was the little things. Jen bringing a plate of apps to me and my new hubby when we needed a quick break to breathe. Or how I was nervously waiting the ceremony, Dana brought me a glass of champagne.
To sum things up: Whitney's is a venue that has a relaxed atmosphere, are executional experts, care about your wedding as much as you do, will make your weekend more special than you can dream and will show your guests an amazing time. Look no further!

From the minute my (now) husband and I walked into Whitney's Inn and met Don, we knew we wanted to have our wedding there. Don and his staff were so accommodating and flexible with any and all ideas we had for our wedding weekend. The grounds were beautiful, with many options to hold the ceremony and 27 guest rooms onsite so we could hold half of our guests there, and they held their sister inn down the road (Inn at Jackson) for our guests as well. The ambiance in the Shovel Handle Pub is just the right mix of elegant and cozy (perfect for the rustic elegant theme we were looking for), and the food is delicious! The day/night went off without a hitch (even with mother nature's fury). The team at Whitney's Inn were so patient with me while I decided whether or not to keep the ceremony outdoors or move inside for plan B. Even though there is a wedding there every weekend, they made us feel like we were the only bride and groom they knew this year! Our guests are still raving about the ambiance, the personal inclusive feel and of course the food! I would definitely recommend Whitney's Inn to anyone planning a wedding in the white mountain region.

My husband and I recently got married at Whitney's Inn and it was an unbelievable experience for us both. Don, Jen and staff were incredibly accommodating and welcome to us, our friends and family. All events from when we arrived on Friday to left on Sunday were top notch. The Whitney's staff worked to make everything seamless and natural to who we were as a couple. This is just what we were looking for in a venue. It rained quite a bit during our wedding day and thanks to the accommodating staff we were able to transform the dining room to fit my wishes (perhaps tall wishes) with no questions asked. I didn't think about the rain for another second after talking with Don and the inside ceremony was beautiful. We knew we would love the reception in SHP as it is a restaurant we frequent while in the area. The food is amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful. Don also recommends vendors in the area and those we used were phenomenal. I can't say enough good things about Whitney's Inn.

Don and his team make you feel like family, and that graciousness extends before and after your big day. We can't wait to go back! From the first tour we took on the property, to the tasting (where "wedding alumni" come back for a weekend getaway), to our wedding weekend, to their follow up post event… we felt unbelievably secure in our decision to work with Don. In my opinion, a wedding is all about the details, and no one does that better than this venue! We had handmade complimentary cookies upon check in, welcome bags for each guest waiting in rooms, a bonfire each night including at our welcome BBQ by the pond, live music at the pub on Friday before our wedding (which was extended upon the groom's father's request), a perfect "fairy like" woodland setting next the babbling creek for our ceremony, gorgeous cocktail hour outside the Inn and Barn, a night filled with dancing and fun at our reception, and an incredibly delicious brunch send-off. We were able to create this personalized and very full wedding weekend "experience" for less than a single night at other venues, and we didn't have to compromise on anything. There were no absurd rules or hidden costs - Everyone raved about the experience, and we literally can't wait to return. Jackson is a perfectly quaint New England town, and Whitney's Inn does everything possible to accentuate Jackson's natural magic.

Where to start? Whitney Inn and the Shovel Handle were amazing! They location is out of this world and is perfect if you're looking for relaxing, rustic and homey. There isn't a single complaint to be made. Don and his staff were so friendly, knowledgable and willing to work with any questions/suggestions we had. There is a reason that they book up so fast. They are worth every penny and more. Even though Don and his staff do weddings almost every weekend, they have the unique ability to make it feel like you are the only wedding that they do and the only one that matters. Don was so helpful and made sure that our whole weekend ran smoothly. Having the Inn for the weekend gave our family the ability to spend time together- it felt like we were able to spend time with all of our guests in a much more relaxed way. It's such a great idea and unique to weddings! We plan on coming back for anniversaries and weekend getaways!

The Whitney's Inn was hands down fantastic. Don (the owner) and his staff have everything perfected. Highlights were: 1. Very flexible and accommodating! They put together a fruit bar for our dessert that was out of this world, though they'd never done one before. They also rolled with us changing the ceremony site at the last minute without batting an eye. 2. The food! Everything was excellent and our guests gave so many compliments. Their steak tips ... out of this world. 3. The Shovel Handle Pub: what a great place to have a wedding reception! Perfect for 100-130 people to eat, drink and dance the night away. Various size tables that can be adjusted to fit the number of guests, unique 4 floors, needed minimal decorations to look fabulous, perfect dance floor area, and just absolutely charming. Overall, really top notch venue. Wow!

My wife and I chose Whitney's Inn for our wedding venue largely due to its location. We loved the Inn, the Shovel Handle Pub, and the beautiful ceremony sites (we chose the one that is set in the woods by the brook). However, we were absolutely blown away with how the day turned out. The owner Don, who was extemely helpful and responsive throughout the year leading up to our wedding day, and Jen, our excellent day-of wedding coordinator, both went above and beyond. They did everything within their power to make sure that our wedding day turned out exactly the way we had envisioned it to be. Beyond that, the food was exceptional, the staff were extremely professional and accomodating, and after the reception ended (at midnight!), we were allowed to continue the party around their firepit. Overall, we could not have asked for more and I (and my now wife) highly recommend Whitney's Inn as a wedding venue. We promise you will not be dissapointed!

We were recently married at Whitney's Inn and could not have been any happier with how everything went! It ended up being a rainy weekend and we had to change a lot of our original plans, but Don (the inn owner) was so composed and organized throughout it all. He made us feel like we were long-time friends, and the only wedding he was doing all summer. We loved him! He was attentive, but laid back. All of the staff at Whitney's Inn were friendly, helpful, and looked like they were so happy to be helping at our wedding. It was awesome to have the whole inn filled with our guests for the whole weekend.
Whitney's Inn is a great value and we can NOT recommend them highly enough. You should get married there!!!!

I am not sure we could ever find the words to describe how perfect our wedding at Whitney's was. Don and his staff treated my husband, myself, and our family/friends as if we were their own family. Throughout the entire planning process Don and his wedding coordinator went above and beyond to reduce our stress and truly make us feel that our wedding was special and unique. Never did we feel like we were "just another wedding couple". From the moment we arrived on the property for a visit, we felt at home. Whitney's is charming and warm and their staff reflect this as well. The pricing is incredibly reasonable and many times Don and his staff were able to suggest cost saving ideas. I wholeheartedly recommend planning a wedding at Whitney's! You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I just got married at Whitney's Inn this past weekend and everyone had an absolute blast. Our friends and family took over the inn for the weekend and continuously complimented us on how perfect the venue was! Don and Jen were so helpful and easy to work with. They made sure that all matters were taken care of the day of the wedding and really made it stress free. The "woodland" area was where we decided to have our ceremony and it was stunning with the fire going in the fireplace! We had the best weekend ever and can't wait to return!

Whitney's Inn was the perfect location for my winter wedding! I could not be happier with how the weekend went, especially the ceremony and reception. Don (the proprietor) was amazing and made sure the whole weekend went smoothly and according to plan. He is laid-back and attentive. The setting is beautiful at the base of Black Mountain in the charming town of Jackson, NH. The food at the Shovel Handle Pub is amazing too! We chose the sirloin tips and baked stuffed haddock as our entrees and they were both delicious. All of our guests had fun and keep telling us what an amazing wedding it was.

From the moment I arrived at the property and stepped into the Shovel Handle Pub, I knew it was the venue I had been dreaming of. Not only is it a beautiful venue, the staff and owner, Don, are amazing to work with. They make you feel comfortable, have a great sense of humor, and are incredibly easy to work with. They are upfront and honest and go above and beyond to make you and your guests feel comfortable. I found the prices to be more than reasonable! Don and the staff are there to help through the ceremony and reception if you'd like. Words cannot express how helpful they were to make sure everything went smoothly. The guests commented on how great the food was, how much fun the wedding was, and how beautiful was the venue was. Working with Don and the Whitney's staff was wonderful! They all were so nice and easy to work with! Even though Don couldn't be there, his staff was so professional and made sure our day went perfectly! They were willing to help with a lot of setup as well organizing the people to be in the right place at the right time. Jen worked so hard to make sure we had everything we needed (including brunch and beverages for the bridal party in the bridal suite). They were very quick to respond to any questions we had and had great suggestions on how to run things and vendors to use. They were so flexible with us for the whole weekend and we really took over the inn for the whole time! The staff was not only accommodating to us but also to the needs of our guests. We heard from many of our guests after the fact how much the staff helped them with whatever they needed. Overall we had the best day of our lives that was stress free and a blast.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Whitney’s Inn! Firstly, Don, Lori, and the rest of the staff were a joy to work with. They were helpful, accommodating, transparent, and treated us and all of our guests almost like family. Don and Lori walked us through every stage of the planning process and took amazing care of us throughout the entire weekend. They were incredibly flexible and knowledgeable – we always felt like we were in good hands. They managed tent, chair, and table details and helped enormously in setting up decor. The venue was gorgeous; it is verdant, homey, rustic, well-kept, and felt very welcoming. We loved the Adirondack style and all private and public rooms were super cute and clean. We also loved the fact that most of our wedding guests could stay on the property and we heard nothing but good things about our guests’ experiences at Whitney’s Inn and the Inn at Jackson (Whitney’s sister inn). The food was PHENOMENAL; everything at the rehearsal BBQ, the wedding dinner, and the breakfasts was so delicious. There were so many food options and all of them were good. They took great care of our vegan and gluten-free guests as well. Getting married at Whitney’s Inn was one of the best decisions that we’ve ever made (after saying “yes” to Mike of course!). We look forward to visiting Whitney’s Inn again and again over the years. In sum, we could not recommend Whitney’s Inn more highly.

We can not say enough about Don and his staff at Whitneys inn. Our wedding was amazing and way more then we could have imagined. Don can make anything happen, he even had the cook make a special bacon appetizer as a special request from me! The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are adorable, and the overall atmosphere was ideal for our laid back weekend celebration. The majority of our guest came for two nights, whitneys hosted our rehearsal dinner at the picnic area. Saturday, while we were getting ready, our guest enjoyed the pool, pond, and grounds along with local attractions. We were able to choose our timeline, there was no rental hours or limits. The food was AMAZING. I have never been to a wedding where the food was one of the best meals I have ever had. Our guests could not say enough about the whole weekend. It was such an intimate and perfect venue. The backdrops for pictures were unbeatable. We were able to take pictures in front of the barn, at the base of the mountain, along the pond. I would recommend Whitneys to anyone looking for an ideal rustic wedding. Don and his staff made the weekend run smoother then ever dreamed of.

We got married at the Shovel Handle Pub at Whitney's Inn on NYE 2014. Throughout the planning process and the booking of the hotels I was in constant contact with the employees of Whitneys Inn and Don. There was never a question too complicated or a request that went unanswered. Having our closest family and friends at the Inn from Monday to Thursday was the best part of the experience, everyone had a blast, families reconnected, my husbands family and my family formed bonds that had not yet been established. By the time the actual wedding came along (our wedding fell on Wednesday night), we felt no pressure at all as we had quality time with most of our guests leading up to the reception. Guests arrived at the Inn where they were treated to Hot Chocolate to take with them to the ceremony, from there the were escorted out to their seats where propane heaters were set along the middle of the seats outside for extra warmth. After the cermony guests were invited into the cocktail area of the Inn that was beautifully decorated with holiday décor and roaring fireplaces. Passed Hors D'oeuvres and drinks from the bar quickly were in everyone's hands. Our immediate families were escorted to the pub for pictures where drinks and food were waiting for us....not a detail was missed. The pub was magical! The four floors I was previously nervous about ended up being my favorite feature....the pub had twinkle lights everywhere and it wasn't until I got my pictures back that I noticed even more detail. There was a unique and gorgeous detail in every inch of space. The food and staff were outstanding, I had 6 executive chefs and multiple waitresses, as guests at my wedding. They are incredibly picky everytime they eat another chefs food and there was nothing but rave reviews, not only from them but from all of our family and friends. I would recommend the whole experience to anyone looking for a unique and cozy venue and Inn, with fantastic service start to finish!

I was a total ball of stress leading up to the big day (and even down to the last few minutes pre-ceremony haha) but the crew at Whitney's put my mind at ease, and I do not say that lightly. Their generosity, professionalism, and personableness made our day (and all the days leading up to it) immense fun, despite all the underlying stress.

The Whitney's Inn did an amazing job at our wedding on Dec. 6, 2014. From the moment we went to meet with Don and see whitneys as a potential wedding venue it felt like the perfect fit. It was the only place that made us feel that we weren't just another wedding. Don made us feel like this was our day and he and his staff would do everything to make it everything we wanted-and they did. They were so welcoming to our family and friends the entire weekend. I brought all my table settings and decor, they staff set it up way better then I ever even pictured it. The food was amazing. So many people complimented us on how delicious the food was. We even got a couple "best wedding food ever" comments (the breakfast was amazing too, so good). The bartenders were engaging and fun- never a line at the bar. We enjoyed late night grilled cheeses made by the kitchen at last call which was the perfect end to the night. There's honestly nothing i would change. I was so pleased and have such a warm place in my heart for whitneys inn-Don & Paul and the entire staff. I would highly recommend this venue, i truly believe you will have so much fun and not be disappointed in the least!

Jason and I had the perfect wedding weekend at the Whitney's Inn the weekend of August 9th. Don and his staff go above and beyond to make your wedding ideas/dreams possible... all of the planning and preparations were easy and enjoyable because of this expert team. Our guests came in on Friday and the whole inn was ours for the weekend. We had a welcome cookout on Friday for our guests- the food was delicious (which was the theme for the weekend) and we were able to enjoy the beautiful night by the property's stream in a covered picnic shelter. Hanging lights added just the right touch to make the evening magical.
The day of the wedding was spectacular! The amazing breakfast offered to guests was the perfect way to start the day. The staff did a fabulous job getting the already beautiful decor of the Shovel Handle Pub just right. The grounds were beautiful for our outside ceremony and we were assigned a server who feed us drinks and apps while we were getting our photos done. The food, as I said, was incredible. Countless guests reported it was the best food they had ever enjoyed at a wedding! The sirloin tips and mashed potatoes were my faves!! The night went off without a hitch- the Shovel Handle is the ultimate setting for a stunning rustic-chic wedding. The night ended with pizza by the fire- what could be better than that?
All of our guests kept raving about the weekend, and are still raving almost two weeks later. I can't even begin to thank Don and his staff for all the work and time they put in to creating such a memorable weekend!

I chose Whitney's Inn because of its beautiful rural New Hampshire location and its affordability compared to other nearby "all-inclusive" wedding venues. I am so glad I did not go for an upscale hotel. Whitney's was perfect for my mid sized (140 person), relatively casual, family-filled wedding. It is so nice having family and friends stay with you right on site -- even with a lot of people, the setting feels intimate and comfortable. The staff are knowledgeable, accommodating, and wonderful people to boot (better, as our NYC-based MC and family friend told us, than many he has encountered in his own experiences working these kinds of events). Don Bilger was open and happy to receive nitpicky suggestions from this child of picky New York Jews. :-) Restaurant manager Paul Begley ran my wedding and his attention to detail was impeccable. Our guests raved about the unique setting and the food (yeah, the food was amazing, and they uncomplainingly accommodated my and my family members' draconian dietary restrictions). Whitney's does a ton of weddings, and that is a good thing. They know what they're doing, and they do it right. I can not recommend them highly enough.

I do not even know where to begin, our wedding this last Saturday was absolutely amazing! The staff was so nice and so accommodating! The owner Don is fantastic! Great guy with great sense of humor as well! Amazing Inn and Venue! Our guests loved the rustic feel and mountain views! We held our ceremony outside and luckily the weather was amazing! Then the cocktail hour was at the Inn's little bar area and outside area with fire pit. Dinner was inside at the Shovel Handle Pub, my guests raved about the food, especially the baked stuffed haddock. From check in to check out, I would not change a thing! And the process up to the day was great as well! They guide you along what you need to remember/plan and then do a review to make sure nothing is missed and everything goes as you want it. I have seen photos friends/family took and everything looked great! I cannot wait to see the professional photos! And I cannot wait to go back to Whitney's Inn again!!! Highly recommend this venue!

We were recently married at the Whitney’s Inn and could not have asked for a better experience. Don, Paul, Janine, Shawn and crew provided top notch service throughout the entire planning process, only to be topped by their phenomenal hospitality, professionalism and support during the wedding weekend itself. It truly was a weekend to remember, not only for us, but for our guests as well. Everyone continues to rave about the whole experience, especially the food at the Shovel Handle Pub.
One of the highlights for us was the welcome reception we hosted –with the help of the tremendous staff- at the streamside grotto area across the street the night before. Our guests truly appreciated a chance to socialize and relax after making the long trek up to the White Mountains.
The Whitneys Inn offers such a wonderful dynamic for a successful wedding weekend: beautiful mountain setting, friendly and caring staff, food that is beyond outstanding, limitless activities, no cookie-cutter mentality, and quite simply the best time of our lives!

The moment I saw Whitney's Inn, I knew this was where we were getting married. I instantly fell in love with the rustic Adirondack decor, gorgeous white mountains and of course the Shovel Handle Pub. The twinkling lights, restored wood, breathtaking views and ample bar sealed the deal.

We had our wedding at Whitney's Inn on April 27th and the venue and staff exceeded our expectations, which were high.
The weather was questionable and Don was more than accommodating to allow us the flexibility to decide at the last minute to have it indoors/outdoors. It turned up that we had it indoors and it was a beautiful setting and we didn't have to worry about a thing!
The hors d'oeuvres and dinner were exceptional. We had rave comments about all of the food and we ourselves were blown away with the speed, presentation and taste of everything!
We had a small band (Jon Sarty Band - they were spectacular) in the Shovel Handle pub and it was more fun than we could have even imagined. Smores by the fire pit were the perfect ending to a perfect day!
We can't say enough about the Don, Paul, the team and the overall experience that we had, We would not have changed one thing and we are going to be going back to Whitney's Inn year after year to reminisce.

My husband and I were married last weekend at Whitney's Inn and it was far beyond what we had hoped for! Don and his staff made us feel welcome, comfortable, and special. The food was amazing (steak-tips are the best I've ever tasted!) and the atmosphere was rustic and heartfelt. The coziness and charm of the Inn impressed all of our guests and we are still receiving compliments. The fire-pit, late night pizza delivery, delicious breakfast, and wonderfully helpful staff members were all added bonuses for our wedding weekend. The beautiful Shovel Handle Pub with its lit up posts and beams really provided a gorgeous setting for our reception. We filled the Inn with friends and family so everywhere you went there were familiar happy faces and we didn't have to be afraid of making noise, we truly took the place over! If we had it to do all over again we wouldn't change a single thing. Not only that, we plan on going back to Whitney's Inn for our anniversary as long as we can! Thanks again to everyone up there who made our day so memorable!

I chose Whitney's Inn first for it's ambiance and location....but I got so much more! Our wedding coordinator Lori and owner Don are both pleasant and easy to get a hold of. We were pretty much allowed to do whatever we needed to make our wedding special to us! Everyone loved it there and we received so many compliments! The food is absolutely delicious! It is such a unique venue! Thank you Whitney's Inn!

Don (the owner) and the entire staff at Whitney's Inn was wonderful. If you want to make your wedding your own instead of picking it out of a cookie cutter choice of packages, this is a wonderful venue to consider! Both Whitney's Inn and The Inn at Jackson (sister inns) have a great rustic feel, beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for pictures and an inviting, at-home type of environment. I highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Don and his team at the Shovel Handle/ Whitney Inn made our wedding day PERFECT. From the day we toured the space right up until the day after the wedding, the team was attentive, professional, helpful, and SUPER accommodating- allowing us to add numerous touches to the day that made the wedding feel truly like ours :) As a bride, all I wanted was for our guests to have a good time (many traveled far to attend) and to be able to enjoy the day with my new husband. I am STILL hearing from guests about how ours was one of the best weddings they have ever attended (the service! the food! the location!) and at no point during the wedding day did I have to worry about ANYTHING :) The day was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough!!

Our family and friends loved the romantic winter weekend that was our wedding. We wanted three things for our dream wedding: a place for our loved ones to be together for a whole weekend, amazing food, and FUN! Whitney's Inn covered all those things and more. As we live abroad, Whitney's provided us with the opportunity to spend more than Jay one night with our nearest and dearest. The food exceededrour expectations and the staff felt like guests and friends while maintaining professionalism. Through out the planning process the staff was responsive and flexible especially with our unique situation of planning from across the pond.
We've entertained the idea of doing it again every year for our anniversary. Friends and Family are totally on board ;)

Seriously I wish I could rate Don and the folks at Whitney's Inn 6 out of 5 stars. The entire staff is absolutely amazing and they were extremely accommodating in allowing us to tailor the weekend to what we wanted. Come the day of the wedding the assured things ran smoother than I could have ever imagined. The venue itself is amazing as well, our friends and family could not stop talking about how amazing the setting was and the Shovel Handle Pub becomes a real part of the night. I legitimately can not think of one thing that I wish Whitney's Inn did better, they surpassed my expectations in every single way.

We are so happy that we decided to get married at Whitney's Inn! We've been going there for years on weekend ski trips and decided it would be the perfect place to get married - and it was! It's such a gorgeous setting in any season, especially in the winter with freshly fallen snow for a winter wedding. Don and his staff, and Lori the wedding planner, are all terrific. You can tell Don has been doing weddings there for years by the way he is able to calmly orchestrate the whole day, leaving us with almost nothing to think or worry about. His restaurant manager and the waitstaff are also wonderful. We did a lot of planning up front with Lori, the wedding planner, and when it came time to review all the details with Don the weekend of, it went really smoothly. All the hard work we put in with the planning of the details was not lost in translation, and his staff did even more than we expected when it came to setting up decorations - they even hung up christmas tree lights for me outside in sub-zero temperature. We would highly recommend Whitney's Inn as a wedding venue.

After we got engaged and it came time to start planning, we knew that Whitney's would be the perfect place to have our wedding... and they exceeded our expectations. Don made everything so easy throughout the entire process. Every question we had or recommendation we needed, Don had the perfect answer. He has a team of All Stars that do their best to make your wedding as perfect as possible. Our family and friends couldn't get over how beautiful the Inn was and we still continue to hear about how amazing the whole weekend was. I cannot stress how much we loved our wedding at Whitney's Inn. I can't think of one negative thing to say, except be prepared for a bear sighting! Our guests only had positive things to say about the rooms. The owner, Don, was excellent at providing any assistance needed. The food was excellent! Definitely the best food I've ever had at a wedding. Many of our guests said ours was the best wedding they had ever been to and I think our venue was a huge part of that!

Being the mother of the bride and being in the wedding business for years a venue's worst nightmare! Whitney's Inn met and in many cases exceeded my expectations. We went to the Inn on Thursday as it is 4 hours from our home to start the set up process. Don and his staff was extremly helpful. My daughter's future mother-in-law had arrived on Wednesday and expressed a some concerns with the conditions of the grounds. Boy did that get addressed and then some. By Saturday the entire place was groomed and planted and looked incredible. We did a little cookout with the people who had come up early in the gazebo area on Thursday night which was wonderful as we were busy right up until dinner time. Paul the restaurant manager coordinator was amazing. I had emailed the inn a few months ago with some of my concerns with facility and he had made sure all were taken care of. The staff there all have the just get it done attitude that I love. They all do everything up there which is just great. Friday we played in the pool and worked all day doing flowers and they let us get a head start on decorating. Friday night we did rehearsal and went to Thompson's eatery in Jackson for rehearsal dinner (very good food). Came back to Whitney's and many of our guests had checked in. We had a fire and shared time with them. Wedding day weather was amazing....used Deboney's Spa for makeup and hair they also were very friendly. Even got permission from one of local farmer's to use their field for pictures. The answer to all of our questions was you can do whatever you want the place is yours just tell us what you need. What more could we ask for. Wedding...what can I say except PERFECT. Food was amazing (again many guests were in the business and some are even chefs and they were blown away) and staff was just wonderful. We had the most amazing time and so much of it is thanks to Whitney's!!!!

We just had our wedding at Whitney's Inn and every single person came up to me to RAVE about the food (and it was a buffet which is usually a risky move) and the atmosphere of the Inn and Pub! We had steak tips and chicken cordon bleu for our dinner options and I got to taste both. The chicken was not dry, not one bit! It was scrumptious! The steak tips were absolutely my favorite, you could use a butter knife to cut them and they had amazing flavor!! When I first saw the inn and the barn (Shovel Handle Pub where the reception is held) I immediately fell in love! If you are looking for that rustic feel you have come to the right place. The inn itself has such a unique feel to it and no room is the same. The décor in the inn is filled with white mountains wildlife and it is beautiful!
Now, I must mention how attentive all of the wonderful employees are at Whitney's Inn! Don did an absolutely amazing job making sure my wedding was exactly as I wanted it (which is very important!) Paul and Linda were also two people that made my weekend fabulous! Paul did a fantastic job setting up for the reception and they both were awesome bartenders! It would not have been the same without them there! During photographs we had a waitress available just for the wedding party to get us drinks and appetizers which most wedding parties miss! And Don made sure we got a chance to actually eat dinner! After hearing how usually the bride and groom never get a chance to eat, I was happily surprised that it was not the case here!
Whitney's Inn is beautiful and they make the preparations to get married so much easier! I highly recommend anyone who loves the White Mountains to visit the Inn and I think it will speak for itself! :)

Don Bilger and his staff at Whitney's Inn and the Shovel Handle Pub were welcoming, accomodating, fair, professional and responsive. At the end of the day each and every one of the staff felt like an extension of our family. I would love to go back and have dinner with Don and Paul just to say thank you. Don's wedding coordinator, Lori Pecor, was reassuring, professional, supportive, and helpful. Our guests loved the location, felt at home at the Inn, and were inspired to kick back and enjoy themselves by the atmosphere at rhe Pub. They raved, not only, about attending the best wedding they'd ever been to, but family and friends also continuously remarked on the team at Whitney's and servers at the Pub with showers of praise. The food was also a hit and for a more reasonable amount than we had found at any other venue. We requested a unique reception that we hoped would foster mingling among our guests; Don and his team helped accomodate our progressive ideas and it all came together fabulously! I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to any couple.

My daughters wedding was at the Inn on Memorial Day weekend. The weather was not in our favor but the Inn has the unique ability to have a beautiful ceremony site indoors separate from the reception site. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the responsiveness of Don and the staff to make the wedding everything the bride and groom envisioned. My husband and I recently got married at the Whitney's Inn and Shovel Handle Pub in Jackson, NH. We had the most amazing wedding weekend at their venue. We live almost 4 hours away so most of the planning and preparation were done on the phone or through email and everything was perfect. The staff was excellent, the food was outstanding and most of all our guests told us it was the most fun wedding they have ever been to. I never once stressed because the staff was on top of everything. My husband and I can't wait to go back for our anniversary. I highly recommend the Whitney's Inn and Shovel Handle Pub to anyone who wants to have the time of their life and outstanding service on their wedding day :)

There is just way too much for me to say about this place. Such a perfect venue! My guests loved the place so much that many of them asked me if I would mind if they had their wedding there too! Of course I said no problem because any excuse for me to go back would be awesome! :) Don and his staff have clearly done this a million times before because they really do know how to cater a wedding as well as cater to a bride and keep me happy! I have been to weddings where they were very nice and all, but also way too stuffy to really have a great time and let loose. All my guests and I felt like they were at home at Whitney's and free to do as they pleased. We even had a late night bonfire after the wedding! I can't think of many places that would let you and your guests completely takeover for 3 days while also being there for you exactly when you need them. Everyone absolutely LOVED the food! The staff was AMAZING! The girls that serve breakfast and take care of the rooms are very sweet and friendly, and the food guy (forget the actual term haha) Paul was fantastic! There is no doubt that he puts his heart and soul into making sure you and everyone is totally happy with the food, drink, and service at the inn. Just when you are about to freak out because you're about to get married, the one thing that doesn't cross your mind even once is wondering if the wedding or reception is going to be a success. Don't worry, it's in good hands at Whitney's Inn!

Having our March 23, 2013 wedding at Whitney's Inn was the best wedding decision we made. The owner, Don, made us feel right at home from our first visit. The entire staff was super responsive and helpful via email/phone during the entire planning process. We felt like family from the moment we arrived for our wedding weekend. All of our guests remarked how they felt so welcomed and comfortable at the inn and it was so refreshing to know that only our wedding party was staying at the hotel - it was like one big family reunion! The Shovel Handle Pub is the perfect spot for your rustic, New Hampshire wedding. The place is absolutely gorgeous and doesn't need much additional decoration.
We are so thankful to the Whitney's Inn staff for making our wedding so special and unique! We had an absolute blast and will be back for many anniversaries to come!

Our guests said again and again how beautiful the inn, the pub and the surroundings were, and how relaxed they felt.
The food was delicious, (and Don made sure we ate, even taking us aside after pictures and giving us a plate of appetizers and encouraging us to just take a moment to enjoy each others company before we went on to mingle with our guests which we appreciated)
he took care of every detail...it was a stress free day which i was not expecting! everything was absolutely perfect!

Don, the owner of Whitney's Inn and the main point of contact, is amazing at what he does. Whitney's has a sort of mantra that you enter as a guest and leave as a friend. I can honestly say that is the truth. I feel like Don was way more than just a vendor - we're very much looking forward to future visits back to the inn. Don made our day go smooth, and we didn't need to worry about a thing (even though I still did!). The whole operation is top notch!

My husband Scott and I were married at Whitney's Inn on Saturday June 2nd, 2012. From the moment that we invaded Don and his Whitney's crew on Thursday afternoon we knew that this place was the PERFECT locale for our wedding! I already had only good opinions of Don throughout the preparation process and then when Don met with us that day to go over last minute details, we instantly felt like we had known him forever and that he was totally committed to making our wedding become everything we had dreamed it would be. He and his staff did not disappoint.
We felt like this venue was able to provide us with the quaint and cozy environment that we had hoped for...as if we were having our wedding in our own home and backyard...except at Whitney's we were able to enjoy a pool, a fire pit, wonderfully charming guest rooms for all of our guests, a yard and pond for the kids to play in, a delicious homemade breakfast daily, and a restaurant and bar to have some nighttime fun in. Did I mention it was perfect?!
Our guests have raved about literally everything--the accomodations, the service, the food, the atmosphere, all of it! I'm pretty sure everyone has begged us to go back again every year to do it all again. I honestly did not hear even the littlest of complaints.
My husband and I also loved the value...compared to other venues in the area, we couldn't come close to getting all that we did for even close to the price. We had a four-day event at Whitney's Inn for less than many places charge for a one-day affair. Pretty confident nowhere could compare.
Even when a few unforseen things came close to challenging the perfection that they helped us to create, the staff at Whitney's Inn maintained the utmost professionalism and helped us pull through and preserve the special moment that our wedding was!

We cannot say enough great things about Whitney’s Inn. The moment we left Whitney’s Inn after our initial meeting, we knew that it was the place we were looking for. Our overnight stay for the tasting only validated our decision. We wanted something special, something intimate, something not only we would remember for a lifetime, but our friends and family would too. Whitney’s Inn delivered it all.
The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, but more importantly they were responsive. I imagined that planning a wedding at a venue two plus hours from home would be difficult, it was anything but. Lori, Shawn and Don were fantastic to work with and the staff at the Pub was sociable and fun.
The Whitney’s Inn is the perfect setting for a rustic mountainside wedding. The quietness of the grounds, the charm of the Shovel Handle Pub, it was all so perfect.

Whitney's Inn was a great venue for our wedding. The Jackson area and the inn are absolutely beautiful. The multi-leveled barn for the reception was great- people who wanted to socialize rather than dance could do so in a quieter location. The grounds at Whitney's are maintained well, and have many spots for wedding photos. Don and Lori were flexible and responsive to our needs and ideas. They learned every detail of our wedding day to ensure that it would go smoothly. What I loved most about Whitney's was that almost all of our guests could stay right at the Inn. We had a BBQ the night before the wedding, and the fact that almost everyone was there gave us a chance to spend time with our friends and family. Overall, Whitney's Inn was a great place to hold our wedding and ceremony.

Don and the staff at Whitney's Inn & Shovel Handle Pub was incredible from our arrival on a Thursday to our departure on Sunday. The environment and comfort at Whitney's Inn is un-describable. We had our ceremony outside at the beautiful birch arbor. Following we had a cocktail hour on the patio followed by the reception in the Shovel Handle Pub. The entire experience was stress-less and ideal from the beginning to the end. The staff went above and beyond from preparing the property to the ceremony, reception site and rooms on site. In addition we had guests who stayed at the Inn at Jackson who said it was just as peaceful, comfortable and welcoming. The food throughout the entire weekend was delicious with incredible presentation. Breakfast was always fresh with a nice variety and great atmosphere for gatherings. The chef did an incredible job as well preparing the reception meal with beautiful presentation. During the reception the staff took our gifts to our cottage and tidied it up for us going above and beyond. All of our vendors commented on the ease of working with Don and his staff which resulted in a perfect wedding weekend. Whitney's Inn is surely a place we will now visit often!

The entire process from start to finish was seamless and Don the owner and Michelle the coordinator were AMAZING to work with. The day was absolutely perfect thanks to them and they were beyond flexible and always willing to help our vision come to life. Whitney's Inn was the perfect place for us! The staff was amazing and attentive, the food was fabulous, and the Shovelhandle Pub was such a fun place for a reception. Michelle, our wedding coordinator, was such a joy to work with, and made planning a breeze. It was a magical weekend, we felt so cared for, and they thought of everything. Don, the owner, was on site, making sure everything went smoothly. I literally didn't have to lift a finger! We have such wonderful memories from a truly special weekend, we will cherish forever.

This was a destination wedding for all of our friends and family--we're local--and Don, the owner, and Michelle, the wedding coordinator, made our event move as seamlessly as possible. My husband and I could not have asked for a more beautiful reception. The food was outstanding, the event was perfectly organized, and we're still getting amazing feedback from all of our friends and family. The cost was extremely reasonable and Michelle went out of her way to accommodate special dietary needs and my husband's nonstop questions. Breakfast the next morning was phenomenal and easy-going, which we appreciated. All of our guests loved that everything was in one place--the inn and the pub. We highly recommend Whitney's Inn if you're thinking about having a wedding in the Mount Washington Valley.

"That exactly how I pictured our day" - Me, after our wedding weekend extravaganza at the Whitney's Inn. It was everything I wanted and more. Don, the owner & Michelle, the wedding coordinator made us all feel right at home. We rented the whole Inn for Memorial Day weekend! We had a Sunday wedding and a BBQ at the Whitney's Inn picnic area the night before. It was the perfect beginning to our party weekend. Michelle and Don were extremely accommodating to our every need. The staff at the Whitney's were super friendly and so helpful. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place!! The three tier barn (The Shovel Handle Pub) - was the perfect venue for my relaxed-romantic-rustic wedding. The staff transformed the Pub into a gorgeous reception and it was complimented by the rustic charm of the post beam barn. The food was delicious the drinks were flowing! LOVE LOVE LOVED my ceremony on the lawn, the cocktail hour in the Birches bar in the front of the inn, and finally LOVED dancing the whole night away in the Shovel Handle Pub. Only to wake up the next morning to have a wonderful breakfast; our choice of pancakes, waffles, french toast or eggs (included in the room charge at the inn) with all of my friends and family. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend to say I DO! I am still getting compliments about how beautiful it was and how much fun our guests had. I highly recommend the Whitney's Inn to any Bride looking for a beautiful rustic barn wedding <3

Whitney's Inn was AMAZING. It was affordable and a perfect size for my 80 person wedding (although we could have had many more). My guests had an absolute blast going fishing, having nightly bonfires, talking country walks, and dancing up a storm in the barn at our reception. Not only is the place beautiful (rustic yet elegant New England feel), the food filling and delicious, but the people who run the inn are unbelievable kind, helpful, organized, professional... I could go on and on. On my rainy wedding weekend, there was a break in the weather and I made a last minute call to move my wedding outdoors 20 minutes before my ceremony was set to begin - and they obliged, scrambling to get everything moved outside (a feat that normally took 90 minutes) - and they did it in about 20! Everything was there the way I had imagined. They were a calming presence every step of the way... helped me find a JP at the last minute when ours dropped out, had us up for a lovely food tasting and several overnight stays 'on the house'. They were super organized about every last detail and made my family feel at home. I love them and cannot recommend them more. A special thanks to Don, the owner, and Michelle, the wedding coordinator, for making our day one of the best in our lives.

My husband and I got married at Whitney’s in March 2017. After we selected our venue, we heard time and time again “Whitney’s is the best!”, and “Don is so great, you will love it there!”. We had really hoped all the good reviews were true. I can honestly say that Don and the whole team at Whitney’s Inn completely surpassed all our expectations. Both the food and service were amazing, and we are still hearing rave reviews from all our guests. I was most impressed with Don’s approach and the care taken with all the details of our day. Don made us feel so comfortably at home – down to earth and super accommodating.
We had our wedding in the spring (with fresh snow!) outside in the Woodland site. Our photos came out incredible! The setting was gorgeous, and the Barn at Shovel Handle Pub makes for a beautiful back drop as well. We absolutely recommend Whitney’s for a beautiful, rustic, and FUN wedding!
