We hired Whitney for our Marin elopement and could not be happier with her service! First, she was incredibly helpful in helping us plan the day and was flexible to adjust her service to what we wanted. Second, she is absolutely lovely! We were apprehensive that taking pictures alone with a "stranger" would be uncomfortable but she was just great - hyping us up and making us feel like models. Lastly, our pictures are GORGEOUS! Our friends and family (and we!) keep swooning over them and saying how they look taken from a magazine. 10/10 !Whitney Justesen Photography's reply:

I cannot say enough good things about Whitney. First of all, her photos are literal works of art. The hardest part of working with her is picking which photos you'll get printed for your house. I picked her for her work because again, she cannot take a bad photo (this is coming from a very unphotogenic person) , but its her personality that really shines. She makes you feel instantly comfortable and I think thats how she captures her subjects so well. So many of my guests came to me saying how wonderful she was before they even saw the photos, because she is such a joy to work with. On top of all of that, she was super responsive to all of my inquiries, so flexible with COVID changes to our plans, and just generally so warm and personable. Whitney was brilliant to with with. We were scheduled to take our engagement photos in Italy and then covid happened. When I described to her my very specific non tradition or cliche engagement photos she immediately got it. She knew the location in and out and was able to make the most out of our time shooting together. What is also really important is she was afraid to give good direction. We had to change outfits during the shoot and she was super helpful and really efficient trying to capture the best lighting. I adored our photos! Whitney is incredible!
Whitney shot my small family only wedding in November 2020 and was an absolute joy to work with. We had only spoken once through video early in the year and closer to our date we communicated via e-mail to nail down specifics and ask any questions that came up. She is extremely professional, has amazing energy, and her work speaks for itself. Stunning and AMAZING!!! We loved all of our images as well as the quick turnaround time and layout/presentation viewable on the web. Master of her craft

I had been wanting to book with Whitney ever since she took photos for my manager's wedding, and I had already been sending people her way even before booking with her just because I thought her photos were stunning. A family occasion (non-wedding) came up and I was so glad we were finally able to work together. Whitney is so professional, approachable, and really makes the session all about you. She takes the time to learn your story and make you feel at ease within the first seconds of meeting her. It really feels like we're just being ourselves in the photos—quirkiness & all—and it's embraced and welcomed instead of feeling super stage-directed and not like us at all. Whitney was incredible with setting expectations of when we would receive our photos, and, DANG, was it worth the (short) wait! Wonderful, professional and awesome!

Couldn't be happier
Whitney was so sweet and helpful up to and during our wedding! She made sure to ask lots of questions to get an idea of what we needed and how our day would go. It actually helped us figure out a lot of the logistics for our day since we didn't have a wedding planner. Whitney is a wonderful photographer and extremely easy to work with. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a photographer for their wedding or any type of photoshoot. Whitney was a second photographer at my wedding, but she was right there with us the entire time and wonderfully captured so many amazing moments. From my wedding dress, to the first look, my bouquet details, and all the events through the night, we loved all of our photos. She was so great that I hired her to take my newborn family photo sessions when my son was born. Whitney is just a pleasure to be around and makes you feel at ease and relaxed during her sessions. We love our photos!!
Whitney knew just what to have us to do to get the right shots, we felt so confident with her in charge. On wedding day, she was making things happen. A few people commented they didn't realize we had photographers at the wedding, and were amazed at all the angles they got - she and her second shooter were so stealthy and behind the scenes, but were actually there to capture all the moments! Alaskan elopement

Absolutely amazing
From the beginning, Whitney was so nice and offered advice and compliments. She was very professional and talked back and forth with me almost a year in advance until the date of. From start to finish, Whitney exceeded our expectations. A photographer was one of our most important choices for our wedding day. Throughout the process, her communication was always timely, detailed and upbeat. At our engagement shoot, we felt comfortable and free to be ourselves. It was such a fun and joyful experience. We left our shoot thrilled that we chose her to capture our big day. Whitney was an absolute joy on our wedding day. She was professional, organized, flexible and friendly throughout all the varieties of personalities and hustle and bustle of the day. Whitney went above and beyond in all the moments she captured and the final product presented us with priceless and gorgeous photos that we absolutely adore! Whitney was absolutely amazing! My husband saw some of her photos posted in a photography group on Facebook and we knew she would be perfect for our wedding. Her documentary style fit in perfectly with our rustic-modern, indoor/outdoor wedding in Yosemite, and she was an absolute gem to work with! We instantly connected over email, which is how we did most of our communication since my husband and I are in LA and Whitney’s based in the bay area. She was always quick to reply to my emails and happy to hear my input/ideas, so I knew we were in good hands.
Whitney’s prices were a little higher than we had originally budgeted for, but she was worth every penny. And she even offered to do a day-after session for us for free in lieu of the engagement photos that come with all of her packages. Because our wedding was just outside of Yosemite Valley, we really wanted to do a second photoshoot inside the national park, so we were thrilled Whitney offered to do it for free. She was totally down to venture around with us, and we ended up spending most of the day driving around and taking pictures.
We opted for Whitney’s Silver Package, which included 8 hours of coverage (starting with getting ready photos and ending with our grand exit.) The Silver Package also included a second shooter, which was very important to us. Whitney hired Nataly Zigdon as her second photographer, and we couldn’t have imagined a better team! Whitney and Nataly fit in with everyone so well they became a part of the party. They were right there with us dancing the night away as they snapped their cameras.
Not to mention, they were incredibly flexible and easy to work with. When I suddenly realized we couldn’t do our First Look photos where I had originally planned, Whitney calmly waited while my maid of honor called our wedding coordinator to figure out a new location. She was always around if I needed to grab her. Plus, she made sure we were having a good time the entire night and was careful not to pull us away from the dance floor unless it was necessary.
We ended up with over 1,000 pictures of our amazing weekend and I’m still in awe of how perfect they are. I owe Whitney and Nataly a tremendous THANK YOU and I will definitely recommend them to all my friends and family in the future. If you need a photographer… HIRE WHITNEY! (She might just become your new favorite person.) -

The 2nd best choice we made on our wedding day!
With so many wedding photographers out there making a choice is extremely overwhelming! I ended up finding Whitney almost accidentally but fell in love with her work on her instagram. In the beginning we set up a phone call to discuss expectations and logistics. We had an intimate wedding ceremony in Yosemite which Whitney had been to many times so she was able to offer advice on the park that we wouldn’t have got otherwise. On the day of the wedding she absolutely amazing! We wandered all over the park, stopping off at random places to take photos she gave us direction but didn’t over style the pictures, they felt like they were ours. She gave us a “sneak peek” really early so we could give our mothers pictures for mother’s day and when we revived our USB drive she had wrapped it up with some cute small gifts and a handwritten note. It was so personal I feel like she wasn’t just our wedding photographer but now she’s a friend. On top of an amazing experience did I mention how beautiful our pictures are?!? We’ve had many people tell us that our photos are the best wedding pictures they’ve ever seen and had a stranger approach me at a mutual friends wedding just to say they saw my wedding pictures and they were beautiful. Would highly recommend Whitney to anyone needing photos taken and hope that I’ll be able to shoot with her again.Whitney Justesen Photography's reply:

Amazing photographer and awesome person!
We hired Whitney to shoot our maternity and newborn photos during COVID 19. Not only was she incredibly responsive (and flexible!) but she worked to get us beautiful photos while maintaining a social distance. Her personality so fun and easy to be around, making my usually husband (who hates getting his photo taken) very comfortable. We are obsessed with our photos and will treasure them always. Whitney is so talented and lovely!
I found Whitney via Instagram and was blown away by her beautiful photography and natural style. I immediately reached out to see if she was available to do a newborn shoot for us. I will cherish the photos she took of our little family for my whole life. She photographed our family again this year, and I love how she captures real moments. She is a joy to be around and was great with our one-year-old, capturing her as she played and embracing the unpredictable nature of taking pictures with kids. She also managed the whole pandemic thing with ease, wearing a mask and keeping a safe distance, but you'd never know it from our photos.
