Iva was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding. From the beginning of our search in looking for a florist to our wedding day, she was super responsive. When we first got in touch with Iva, she was so eager to listen to what we were looking for. We had an initial phone call for her to learn more about mine and my husband's taste in flowers for our wedding day and what was most important to us from a florist. She then developed an entire proposal with examples of florals prior to booking, which she stuck to for the actual day. She even cut out time for my family to meet with her in her flower shop when visiting town before booking her to ask any and every question that we had. We ended up going with Iva and WhiteWood Flowers for all of our floral needs and we could not have been happier with our flowers. We had her put together our chuppah which she always said arches and the chuppah, if you have one, are her specialty and the flowers truly looked amazing. She also helped us amp up our outdoor ceremony look with two aisle planters. She made the bridal bouquet and all 12 bridesmaids bouquets, the groom and groomsmen/fathers boutonnieres and the mother of the bride's corsage. She also did all of our table centerpieces and added candles as well to her designs as this was a special request of ours and the designs were beautiful. She even assisted with us figuring out our uplighting to ensure the flowers would look their best with added light in our reception room, took color swatches I provided of the bridesmaids dresses to make sure all the bouquets would match the dresses, and helped us with us finding the perfect aisle runner to match the whole aesthetic of the day. She even added flowers to our wedding cake and provided flower petals for our flower girl at no extra cost.
Iva and her team are so talented and truly made the wedding feel like such a fairytale of a day. Our video and photos came out amazing due to all the added color and elegance of her designs. She knows so much about flowers and can take your ideas on colors and mix that with flowers in season at the time of your wedding to ensure the absolute best and artistic look for your day. She also provides, if she has in her shop, the actual vases and candle holders without an added fee. She is very reasonably priced for a DC florist and the level of skill that her and her team provides and for her delivery set-up/breakdown. She repurposed flowers from our chuppah for our bride/groom reception table as well to ensure we were not over paying and she was able to find a use for all flowers in a cost effective manner.
Most importantly, Iva was willing to text, meet, or call with us at any point in time when we had questions. She was always so enthusiastic about the flowers for our wedding and she made sure to bring that same energy from the moment we met her to the actual day of our wedding. You truly will find it a gift to work with Iva for your wedding florals and will be so happy with the outcome if you choose Iva and the WhiteWood Flowers team for your florist needs. Beyond I can imagine!
Whitewood has provided all of our wedding requests and even beyond what we have expected! Ivanna has been so great all throughout the time and so easy to communicate with, even until now. She listened very well to our personal requests and, on the day of our wedding, she and her team had created a very beautiful unique masterpiece. She really has a good eye to flowers and designing them together. Her flowers make me happy. In all honesty, all of our guests loved her creation that, believe it or not, not a single centerpiece was left after our wedding reception. They even thought my bouquet was faux since the flowers and pampas were all combined so well and so unique. Thank you Whitewood for you service during our wedding. Had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Iva on florals for my micro wedding - had two large vases for the church, one bouquet (served as dinner centerpiece later), and several corsages that were all beautiful shades of purple and pinks, exactly as we had discussed. She was incredibly responsive, prompt with delivery on the day of (took the time to help arrange the vases!), and clearly very talented. Would recommend highly!!!Whitewood Flowers LLC's reply:

Amazing style and taste!
We eloped and had a tiny wedding ceremony, flowers were our main decor but I had trouble setting a budget and pinning down what I wanted. After fielding quotes from other florists, I met with Ivanna at her shop and felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders! I came in with a rough idea and “vibe” and they were able to tie it all together, getting my vibe down and refining the overall vision, for a budget I felt comfortable with. I got personal flowers, with a couple special requests for my husband’s family traditions, and ground pieces for my ceremony. Great communication through email and texting, arranging for drop offs was easy and stress free. We had limited time to set up in an area that had little road access and they still made it work! I asked for romantic, light fall colors with lush green to work with our setting and that’s what they delivered. The flowers were large, the arrangements had great balance of color and texture, and everything was arranged/packaged to hold up the whole day and well into the next few days when we had time to make arrangements for ourselves or send to get preserved. My home arrangements lasted two weeks!! Love the team and am looking forward to ordering more bouquets and arrangements from them for the years to come!Whitewood Flowers LLC's reply:

Whitewood was the most stressful part of my wedding on 9.23.23. Short version: Whitewood was unresponsive and unreliable on my wedding day, my florals were delivered at the wrong time to the wrong location, and one of my arrangements was missing. I did not get a clear explanation of what caused the issue, and despite my multiple attempts to follow up via email and phone, I still have not received the partial refund I requested. I would expect a business to reach out to a disappointed customer proactively, but instead I have been asking for this refund for several months.
Long Version: Up until the week of my wedding, working with Whitewood was great—they were responsive, created a great proposal that met my small budget, and seemed to really understand my vision for wedding florals. I met with the owner in person a few months before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page on the flowers as well as logistics and delivery. She even gave me her personal number to get in touch with any questions.
A few weeks before the wedding, I sent very detailed information about the locations, delivery times, and contact people at each location to make sure there was no confusion about which florals were to be delivered to the church for the ceremony and which were to go to the reception location. When I got no response via email, I called the shop and they assured me that they received the email and that everything looked good, and said they had no other weddings that day and my logistics would be no problem. A few days before the wedding, I sent the owner a text on her personal number confirming everything, and received no response.
On the day of the wedding, the florals were not delivered at the ceremony location until not long before the ceremony (more than an hour late). I called the owner, on the personal number she gave me, and the number seemed to be disconnected; it did not ring or go to voicemail. My sister, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law spent precious time and energy trying to track down the flowers. After they eventually tracked down a Whitewood staff member, we learned all the florals were attempted to be delivered at the reception location. I don’t understand how that happened, given the detailed instructions I provided. When Whitewood eventually brought the ceremony flowers to the correct location, one of my large altar arrangements was missing. I did not receive a refund for this missing arrangement that I had already paid for.
Finally, though I was happy to have any flowers by the time they showed up, the bridal bouquet was nothing at all like what I discussed with Whitewood’s owner, which made the whole situation even more disappointing. I understand that availability of florals varies, but the style of the bouquet was completely different from what we agreed upon.
In early November 2023, I finally received a response and apology from Whitewood, asking if I would like a refund (though I already requested one multiple times). I confirmed that I would like a refund, and haven’t heard from the business since. As of 12.13.23 I have received no further follow-up from Whitewood.
