I can’t say enough great things about Claire and Townley at White Ink Calligraphy! I saw their work on Instagram and was so mesmerized by Claire’s calligraphy. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, but I knew I wanted that incorporated somehow. Our invitations were addressed with her calligraphy and they were just SO beautiful!!
I worked mostly with Townley on designing everything. If I couldn’t quite explain to her what I wanted exactly, we would jump on a call and talk through it together until we got it right. That’s how much they care about making sure their client’s LOVE their work and not just “like” it. And trust me, I loved it online but everything in person was somehow even prettier. We got several compliments that our Save the Dates (a custom sketch) and our invitations were some of the most beautiful our family & friends had seen. Also, I have never had to deal with a big event and timing of things so if there was ever a moment I was worried about timing or if something was delayed, etc… Townley and Claire always reassured me that everything would get completed on time and would be okay. They probably don’t realize how much the reassurance helped calm me during this time. And finally I have to share, I needed something very last minute on the day of and Townley didn’t even hesitate or ask questions, she just helped get what I needed asap. I can’t tell you how much they CARE about their clients. Their work is just stunning and I appreciated both of these ladies SO much!!! -

Working with White Ink for our custom invitation suite and wedding day signage was an absolute dream. I was planning my hometown wedding from afar, and Claire & Townley could not have been more professional and efficient and lovely to Zoom chat with. They welcome the client's input, and bring just an unreal amount of creativity to the project. They took my small idea and turned it into a wedding invite suite that my entire family is still talking about...everyone even kept the envelopes because of the beautiful calligraphy! Our wedding day signs included a bar sign printed on linen and a bourbon tasting guide engraved on wood. I mean... how cool is that?? All because of the vibes I told them I was going for. Don't over think it -- make a consult with White Ink and I promise you'll never regret it. Oh, and go ahead and order their cute "Santa Letters" for the precious littles in your life. My flowergirl is going to LOVE her "nice list" letter! -

Dream Team!!
I truly cannot say enough great things about Claire and her team!! They blew me away with the most elegant works of art for our big day. Every detail was accounted for and executed with such precision. From our nearly 7ft tall typewriter mounted seating chart with 220 names, to our custom napkins and informative signage it was all exactly what I dreamed of! I'm so thankful for Claire running with my visions and making the process seamless. Will be recommending her to everyone I know! -

I hired White Ink Calligraphy to do our envelope calligraphy and all of our wedding day signage, and lets just say, she did not disappoint! From our first email interaction, to our in-between phone calls, to our porch pickup conversations, Claire exceeded my expectations. She is so personable (I feel like we are BFFs) and she always made me feel so good about the decisions we were making. She really brought our vision to life! I can't leave Townley out, either. I had a Zoom meeting with her about Invitations and although we went a different route with our invites, Townley's interaction with us was also superb! White Ink Calligraphy was has been such a blessing to me, I cannot say enough good about them. They are truly the best and anyone who uses them will not be disappointed. Can't wait to use them again for our Holiday Cards! -

Claire and her team are AWESOME! I found her from a post by my wedding venue and I am so glad that I did. My wedding was one of I think eighteen weddings that she had in one weekend and you never would have known given how perfectly everything turned out! Claire did a number of our wedding signs and seating table numbers. Her work was better than I had imagined! She is very responsive, easy to work with, and wants to make her client’s visions come to life. Being an out of town bride, her and her assistant delivered everything to the venue and even delivered day of personalized cards to our AirBnB! I’ve already ordered holiday ornaments from her and I can’t wait to frame a few of our signs as keep sakes. I can’t recommend her enough :) so happy I found Claire and White Ink! Definitely hire her and her team if you’re looking for that personalized and dreamy touch to your wedding! -

Claire and her sister did an amazing job on my customized wedding invitations. I was going to use minted but the prices were so comparable I wanted to have a more direct experience. They were extremely professional to work with so I decided to reach out for more customized work for my wedding; such as a seating chart, menus, welcome signs, and table numbers. She does it all! Working with one small business was the way to go for all my calligraphy needs. Her rented items also saved me so much money rather than paying full price for something I would only use once. I will continue to support her business beyond wedding needs! Thank you Claire! -

Claire did an amazing job with our calligraphy needs (invites, day of signage, etc) for our wedding! She's fun, creative, and makes the process of working together so easy. Claire is amazing! She created the perfect welcome sign, bar signs, seating display, guestbook sign, and place cards for our destination beach wedding! She is super easy to communicate with and prompt with her quotes. I was able to rent easels and table numbers from her and take them with us to Florida. She made pickup and drop off very easy! If I could go back, I would have used her for our entire invitation suite. I hope to work with her again in the future! -

Claire is incredibly talented and her calligraphy is simply the best! She created a beautiful welcome sign and two bar signs for my wedding and I could not have been more impressed. Best Wedding Calligrapher
Claire is truly amazing, and I highly recommend her. We booked Claire for my wedding in February for invitation calligraphy, and signage at my wedding. Everyone raved about their invitations and how pretty the address were written. She also knocked our acrylic welcome sign, table numbers, seating chart, bar signs, Polaroid sign, and place cards out of the park. Everything was so beautiful, and Claire has a great selection of rentals to make all your dreams come true. -

The Perfect Wedding Calligrapher
Claire with White Ink is the world's best!! She is incredibly talented and made my wedding calligraphy dreams come true! She addressed our invitations, and everyone remarked on how special it was to receive that in the mail. She also did the calligraphy for our signage, our "guest globe," seating chart, and place cards. Huge hit! She was able to take my vision and make it even more beautiful and creative. Claire's work is so beautiful and made every part of my wedding that she was involved in feel so special! There's nothing like getting a wedding invitation with beautiful calligraphy to set the tone for the occasion. I worked with Claire for my save the date envelopes, wedding invitation envelopes, seating chart, place cards, and other day-of signage. Everything came out perfectly, she is quick to respond, always offers great suggestions, was flexible with changes, and her work is very fairly priced. I would recommend her for any occasion! -

I have loved working with Claire. Her work is always so beautiful and everyone is always so impressed. I used Claire for my wedding announcement envelopes and she not only addressed every envelope but also sent them out for me while I was gone on my honeymoon. She has so many different beautiful styles of calligraphy and does an amazing job picking the perfect one for each event I have use her four. We have also used Claire for place cards, wedding signage and holiday card envelopes. Due to the fact that I had a nontraditional Destination wedding, I sent out nontraditional save the dates to my family. Claire purchased handmade paper , printed my announcement and wrote beautiful calligraphy on it! It is a beautiful keepsake that we will cherish forever. I feel so lucky to have found Claire and will continue to recommend her to all of my friends! -

I was excited to have White Ink’s work be a part of our wedding day, especially with using the mirror rentals. As someone who cares about sustainability, I love the idea of using mirrors for reusable signage — so clever! Before signing with them, I also appreciated Townley’s prompt responses and help with questions I had.
Now, I think it’s important for people to be aware of a few things if deciding to go with White Ink. First, a week and a half before the wedding, I reached out to Claire, who was the one doing our signage, 4 times to check in with no response. This was stressful, especially being so close to the wedding. I personally never received a response to those emails or any response, feedback, or mock-ups for my signage. I asked my coordinator to reach out, and she finally got a response a few days before the wedding that Claire at least confirmed she was doing the signage.
Second, during our cocktail hour, it came to our attention that there was an oversight with the seating chart. Unfortunately, table 12 was left off from the final product. This caused confusion and was an inconvenience. I had people coming up to me to tell me, which took away from the moment. I believe if there was more communication before the wedding, then it could have been prevented. I saw that another review from a few years ago said this too, but it doesn’t feel great to see Claire post a ton on instagram but not responding to messages. It’s ironic because the week Claire wasn’t responding to my messages, she posted a story saying that clients need to be more responsive.
I reached out to Claire about a refund for the seating chart, and I have mixed feelings about the response. She did issue a refund quickly (see more about that at the end), which I greatly appreciate, but she listed multiple untrue reasons for our seating chart not being correct. That response didn’t make me feel great about doing business with her.
She said the reason there was no table 12 is because it wasn’t in the document I sent her. That’s untrue. I checked, and there’s a table 12. She also said that she was sent the document only a few days before. This is also untrue. I filled out her form by the deadline, and I sent her an email letting her know. In addition, she claimed that I didn’t submit my seating chart via a Word doc or PDF. That’s also untrue. I did upload a Word doc, but I do acknowledge that the Word doc had a Google doc link. I did this because I wanted to use Google’s real-time commenting tool to highlight an area of the chart and ask a question, so she could see what I was talking about. I never received a response, and Claire never expressed to me any concerns about the Google doc.
She said that because I used a Google doc, I changed things after she printed the chart out, and she didn’t know. That’s untrue. I submitted the form with the Google doc and NO ONE touched it again. I went back to the edit history to double check because I was taken aback that Claire responded this way. The history confirmed what I thought — it wasn’t altered.
I feel like sharing this info is valuable because I believe communication, telling the truth, and taking responsibility when it’s warranted are important, especially for wedding vendors. In my experience, I don’t feel like Claire exhibited these values.
Also, be aware of Claire’s refund process if you paid in cash. She didn’t ask how we wanted the refund and just went ahead and sent it through PayPal. PayPal takes a fee, so you don’t get the full amount. I don’t use PayPal, so when I went to claim the money, PayPal put the money on hold because receiving a decent amount of money through an account that has never been used is flagged as suspicious. After putting my money on hold, they automatically deactivated my account and said they can hold the money up to 180 days. I’m still dealing with this, and it’s frustrating that it could have been prevented.
