Best wedding decision ever! Janet is amazing
If you’re reading this… make the easiest decision of your wedding planning journey and book Janet as your wedding photographer!
We initially hired Janet only for our engagement photos, but her exceptional work and delightful demeanor convinced us to extend her services to our destination wedding in Kauai. Yes, Janet came to Kauai for our wedding!!! From start to finish, working with her was an absolute pleasure. Janet is a skilled photographer who gives great direction, easy communication and goes above and beyond!

Janet went over and above to help with our day. We did our engagement shoot and wedding day with Janet, she produced amazing photos, was professional, yet made us feel like we've been friends for years. Janet was our engagement and wedding photographer and we loved all our photos! Janet did a great job making us feel comfortable during our engagement shoot. We really wanted photos where we initially got engaged and Janet was eager to climb over rocks and the high tide to get to the spot. She even helped us get some cute photos with our puppy.
Janet and her assistant truly captured every part of our wedding day. We received our photos quickly and Janet also has an easy process of ordered prints and making your own wedding album. Perfect Experience!
We hired Janet for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier! Her photos are gorgeous, she was so organized and on top of things, and her prices are reasonable. She’s a really kind and professional person. I felt so comfortable leaving things to her. She made sure we got everything we asked for on our photo list and then some and got us all our photos in a timely fashion. She was on time, and genuinely seemed to be happy to be there with us on our special day. She went out of her way to take photos she thought we would love and made sure we got highlights and then the full album as soon as possible. Her photo system she uses to give us our photos was easy too. You can easily download all your photos in high quality straight to your computer, there’s no watermarks, and she’s fast to respond when you communicate with her. We used her for both our engagement photos and our wedding and it was the best decision. I highly recommend.Wheeland Photography's reply:

Amazing - Everything I wanted!
As a bride, a big goal of mine was to have vendors that helped me have a stress free day on my wedding. Janet was everything I wanted and more. She brings a positive attitude that puts everyone in a good mood! She is professional, creative, and finds a way to capture every important moment on camera. Not only did I feel comfortable, many of my bridal party and guests approached me after saying how kind and great she was. We had a large bridal party, and a decent amount of guests. Janet was able to capture all our photos in a timely and efficient manner. Not only that, but we have photos of our guests which are so fun to look at and something I didn’t even think to request. The photos look and style are everything I wanted. Janet is so gifted and the photos look so natural. Photography was the most important part to me when booking vendors for my wedding and I am so happy I went with Janet. Book with her, you will not regret it!Wheeland Photography's reply:

I had the best time working with Janet from the first conversation that I had with her over the phone to when we discussed details of my upcoming wedding. My sister was my maid of honor and she took it upon herself to find me the best photographer for the day of my wedding. My sister, Ariana, was ecstatic to tell me how much she enjoyed talking to Janet because she knew the wedding industry so well. After speaking to Janet for several minutes, instantly, I picked up such a positive and caring vibe from her. While working with Janet, she was so accommodating to my needs and picture preferences. I felt extremely comfortable with asking for help or adjustments. She made me feel and look special in all of my photos. She is a professional and I felt as though I had a friend taking my photos on my wedding day because she took a lot of effort to make all of us feel our best, while we posed for our photos. The experience I had with Janet was effortless; she knows what she is doing and she’s confident in her work. In turn, I felt at ease and comfortable which is important leading up to your wedding day. After the wedding was complete, she sent over links to a “Sneak Peek” preview of our photos. Our families were stunned with her work! I knew she’d be great but she actually turned out to be amazing, overall! Later, she sent out our final wedding link and mailed us a gift. She went above and beyond for all of us and I’d, honestly, recommend her expertise to any bride that wants to work with someone who is full of life and dedicated to their work. I’m grateful for my sister who led me to Janet, and I’m forever thankful for my memorable wedding photographs. Thank you, Janet, you are remarkable!

Absolutely Perfect
Having only had a handful of life experiences that needed photography Janet is hands down the most amazing photographer I've met. Being slightly camera shy Janet is more like having a friend around whose able to make you feel comfortable, maneuver around family dynamics, get every shot you could think of and on top of all of that her work is incredible!!! We could not recommend Janet enough, thank you for the beautiful perfect photos to memorialize our perfect day!!Wheeland Photography's reply:

Wow, wow, wow Janet Wheeland is amazing! As a bride, you really want your photographer to make you feel comfortable and know that they have your back all day. That is Janet! She makes you feel like family and that you have known her forever. She is such a talented photographer and will take your vision and put it into photos! She is patient and kind and will work with you if you are not the best at poses or locations. She was so patient with my husband and I as we are not people that often have our photos taken in such a formal way! She coached us through poses, and we have a perfect combo of candid pictures and posed. The photos just felt like “us.” We did both our engagement photos and wedding photos with Janet, and everything was just as we had discussed and imagined! She is particularly good at capturing the natural beauty of California and especially the beach! She captured our day perfectly and everyone looks GREAT in all the photos! Our ceremony was at sunset on the beach and naturally was backlit so we anticipated that capturing those photos would be a challenge. Not for Janet!! All of these photos are bright, and you can still see everyone’s faces. We are not sure if it is her editing magic or just natural photography talent! We were blown away at how well everything turned out given the circumstances! Janet also provides a weblink with all your photos within weeks of your wedding! All our photos came perfectly organized so we could easily share with family and friends or just bask in the beauty privately!! Don’t doubt it, just go with Janet! Simply put, Janet is AMAZING!! I was drawn to her natural photos and realistic feel to them. After chatting with her, she felt more like a friend than just our wedding photographer. My husband and I included an engagement photo shoot, being the camera-shy people that we are, Janet made us feel instantly comfortable. The day of our wedding, she went above and beyond what I ever expected from a photographer; she even bustled my dress when it fell out. Janet is awesome!
Janet was incredible shooting our wedding this past September! She was super familiar with both our church and reception venue which was super helpful when working with her putting together our day of timeline. Janet was a master at handling all the unique(and sometimes challenging😅) personalities that were at our wedding which made my wife and I’d day even more stress free😄 and most important of all our photos turned out AMAZING! We hired Janet for our engagement shoot (in a hot air balloon), elopement, and in-person wedding celebration and we could not be happier with her photos. She was extremely flexible through all of the Covid uncertainty, and my Maid of Honor described her photos of a reluctant flower girl as magic. I am absolutely blown away by this girl’s talent. All my wedding photos came out looking like something taken from a movie. I loved the photos and so did everyone else.
Here is why I’m recommending Janet:
- A couple of days after the wedding, I received some wedding highlight images that were superb. This is not normal, and all my married friends had to wait for weeks and months just to get some photos from the wedding.
- Even though I had never met Janet before the wedding, I felt like I had a connection with her. We had calls and email communications where she listened to what I wanted, and she also gave me some good ideas and suggestions. After we had talked through what I wanted, she sent over a list of photos that she was planning on taking on the wedding day and I got to review. I also sent over a Pinterest board of images that I liked. She followed all of it and I got exactly what I wanted and more.
- The photos are amazing.
The bad:
- I have hundreds of gorgeous photos to pick between and I can’t choose which once to hang on the wall.
I am so thankful that I went with Janet. It made my wedding day.

Janet makes the magic happen! Janet photographed two of my sisters weddings and my corporate head shots, so when we got engaged I couldn't imagine having anyone else capture our special day! When it came to our engagement photos, Janet was totally up for adventure in beautiful Joshua Tree and captured what has to be the most epic movie worthy pose, complete with a flamethrower!
Beyond her obvious talent, Janet is a joy to work with. She is super responsive, organized and was such a great, calm, guiding hand through the whole process. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients. I was blown away that we had a sneak peak of a dozen wedding photos the afternoon after our wedding (wow!!), and our full gallery of images a little over a month after our wedding - which is unheard of!!
