I worked with Shane on renting the community room. He was so helpful on room set up and general preparation. Once the event started I realized I needed another table and the team was so quick and helpful in assisting with that. The room was clean and well lit. I would book an event again in an instant. -

We were extremely satisfied with the process of reserving this venue mainly because of the efforts of Shane Haak. He was very patient and ensured all our questions were answered and requests were taken into account. Not only did Shane thoroughly explain the process but he also contacted us throughout the waiting period to ensure all our needs and concerns were met. He also was available the day of the memorial to help out with last minute details such as getting extra extension cords, tables, chairs etc. We did not take pictures of the venue after set up because it was a celebration of life however, I must say the room was very spacious and the outside area (which is included with the venue) added to the experience as the view of the mountains was breathtaking! This venue also has state of the art kitchen equipment which includes a several shelf food warmer (which our caterer loved) stoves, ovens, microwave, cold storage and plenty of work space and it also has an ice machine :) I highly recommend this venue for any occasion! -

Couldn't have asked for a better venue to have our special day at. The staff were professional and really helpful. The supervisor we worked with, Shane Haack, was very kind and flexible and worked with us to bring our vision to life. We were able to bring our own vendors and our own rentals which was a huge benefit to us, it kept our budget low and gave us more control over things. The price as well was excellent for the size of the space. The patio and outdoor area were a huge hit with our guests, it gave us room to spread around and have a bigger dance floor inside, as well as cool off and take breaks away from the music and dancing. And it helped to enjoy the beautiful views the venue has access to. Overall a 10/10 experience and we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. -

We had an exceptional experience for our event! The assistant facility supervisor, Shane Haack, was great to work with and responsive to all our questions and needs. He took time to meet with us on several occasions to discuss room layout and test our laptop with the AV equipment. The tables & chairs were very nice and our caterer loved the space and amenities in the kitchen. The views of the mountains from the community room are beautiful and the accessible patio area with nice patio furniture was a bonus!! I would highly recommend this venue based on the quality, convenience and great customer service. -

Great place for a wedding
This is a great location, and the view is so beautiful. Yes, it's attached to the rec center but that's ok. The price and flexibility make this place wonderful. Just because you are working on a budget doesn't mean you can't have a beautiful wedding. If I had another event to plan I would go back. -

My husband and I just got married 02/26/22 our day was so perfect. The staff is so amazing and friendly. Our guests had a wonderful time. We truly can't thank the staff enough for helping make our day so perfect. -

Hidden Gem - Highly Recommend
We recently rented out the City Park Rec Center for our wedding reception and had an AMAZING time! Andrew, the event coordinator, was very easy to communicate with and very flexible for your vendors. The event space has a catering kitchen, bar and multiple patios with breathtaking views of the mountain and fountain square! There is seating and fire pits on the patios. So many great photo opportunities, especially at sunset. We felt very secluded from the rest of the rec center. All of our guest were so happy with the space. If you are looking for a hidden gem for your wedding or reception I would highly recommend! -

Great experience and amazing sunset photos!
We had our wedding at the Westminster City Park Recreation Center in September 2021. Our wedding was initially postponed in 2020 due to Covid-19. The contact, Andrew, was great to work with and was able to get us rescheduled for 2021. Andrew was very responsive to any questions or concerns. We had a chance to see the space decorated for a wedding a couple of months prior to our wedding, which helped to visualize set up. It has a great space with the community room, which you can really make your own with décor. The outside space has a fountain and view of the mountains. The outdoor furniture and fire pits added a nice touch for guests to enjoy sitting outside. Our guests had a great time and attended both the ceremony and reception at the Westminster City Park Recreation Center. Our photographers captured some amazing sunset photos outside! I highly recommend the Westminster City Park Recreation Center for your wedding or special event!! -

I am so grateful that my husband and I found the City Park Recreation Center venue. From the very start I knew this venue was going to be great. The tour sold me and the responsiveness of the staff was comforting. I felt ready for the day of the wedding and was further impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff which made the day so easy to navigate. The appearance and cleanliness of the venue was spectacular. My ability to customize a sort of DIY wedding while having a great venue allowed me to be creative and have fun. I was also lucky to have a clear view of the mountains and a beautiful Colorado sunset. The large patio and beautiful surrounding area including a water fountain and beautiful views was the cherry on top! I have had several compliments about the venue from my friends and family. We are so grateful that we get to have amazing photos of this place with all the people we love to cherish for years and years. I would definitely recommend this venue. It was everything we hoped it would be and more! -

Andrew, our coordinator, was an absolute pleasure work with! Always answered our calls, emails and answered all my questions. He made this process not stressful but easy. The venue is a hidden gem! No extra costs/fees. I was able to bring in my own caterer and alcohol and they let us use drinks dispensers, kitchen, ice and so much more. Our venue was perfect. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! 10/10 STARS!!! -

Nice big space thats affordable. Flexiable with how i wanted to decorate it. Very happy with their service. -

We've used this space several times for a large annual meeting. Ample room for a large number of round tables. Amazing views and everyone always loves the easy access to the attached patio spaces. Convenient and large kitchen adjoining the space. Good quality in-house A/V available. Very friendly and helpful staff (each year, Shane Haack has consistently made our event easy to contract, set up the logistics, and navigate on event day). -

Worked with Shane who really knows the ins and outs of the venue at the Westminster City Park Rec. He can answer any and all questions you have about what you can and can't do in the venue. Very sweet and laid back yet professional at the same time.
The view at the Westminster City Park Rec with the floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides is gorgeous and I like that we also get the patio outside as part of the rental.
Aside from not being able to hang anything on directly on the walls, this venue is a DIYer's dream. They provide all the basic essentials like round and rectangular tables, built-in sound, computer hookups, projectors, wireless mics; really just the perfect starter kit which is great when you have a vision for your event. We were able to bring in our own decorations and set-up a custom backdrop for a photo booth (so much more affordable than renting a photo booth).
Favorite thing about this venue is that we are able to bring in our own food and use their industrial kitchen. I've used this venue twice and both times for people who are very particular about their food which required us to plan for homemade food and some food from restaurants who don't do event catering. They provide carts in the kitchen to wheel in the food so we didn't have to carry it in. The facility also has a round-a-bout type fire lane right next to the venue where we can bring everything we need directly into the venue without having to walk through the entire facility.
All the staff was very helpful the day of the events too. We ended up needed a couple of extra tables at the most recent event and all I had to do was walk over to the front desk and ask and someone came to grab us tables within a few minutes.
The Westminster City Park Rec is one of our favorite places to hold events now. Loved the experience. -

Stephanie Sent on 04/08/2017The Mac was a perfect place for our wedding! The ballroom was like a blank canvas which was just what we wanted. If you really want to make your wedding your own style, I highly recommend the Mac!
