Andrew Westphal played piano at our ceremony and DJ'ed our reception. He was easy to work with, his piano playing was beautiful, and the dance party at our reception was legendary. Our friends and family are still talking about it. He was fantastic and you should book him for your wedding.

An Incredibly Talented Pianist Who Made Our Day Unforgettable!

Andrew was absolutely incredible! His talent as a pianist is unmatched, and we were blown away by his ability to bring our ceremony to life. We originally booked him as a pianist, but in hindsight, we probably would have hired him as our DJ too if we’d found him sooner. Andrew took the time to truly understand our vision, even incorporating a personal touch by blending Taylor Swift’s voice into the music—a detail that made the ceremony so special for us.

His versatility is remarkable. While he has his own unique style, he flawlessly performed all the styles we requested. He even went above and beyond by finding a talented violinist to accompany him during the ceremony, creating an unforgettable musical experience. During cocktail hour, his music set the perfect vibe, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about him!

We are so grateful to have had Andrew as part of our day and would recommend him without hesitation!

The best of both worlds!!

Andrew was the DJ for my mother's wedding and he was amazing for a few reasons.

He is a very talented musician and during cocktail hour, when he was playing piano and saw the toddlers in our family dancing along, he immediately played a melodic rendition of the wheels on the bus for them! It was the sweetest thing.

Not only that, I called him the week before the wedding to ask if he would be willing to learn a song that we could surprise my mom and I could sing for her. He said "I love musical surprises!" and it meant the absolute world to her!

Lastly, when it came to being the "Master of Ceremonies", he wasn't obnoxious or cheesy like a lot of other wedding DJ's. He did a fantastic job!

We highly recommend Andrew Westphal!

Awesome Wedding DJ & Live Pianist!!

I would highly recommend Andrew Westphal for all of your live piano and DJ needs! We hired him to do live piano at our ceremony and cocktail hour, and then transition into DJ'ing for our reception and he absolutely crushed it! Our guests loved the ambience he was able to set for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and he was able to easily accommodate our requests for specific songs for our walk down the aisle (it seems like he could probably learn just about anything you could want!).
Then for the DJ'ing he was a perfect MC, bringing the energy and knowing when to talk and when to let the music flow. Planning was a cinch with Andrew -- after a few phone calls to get to know each other and filling out a sheet with some music themes or vibes he took it all from there and let us focus on just enjoying our day. His ability to do both the live music and DJ'ing at such a high level was great logistically for us as well -- one less vendor to coordinate for the big day!
All in all, if you're looking for live piano, a fantastic DJ, or both -- Andrew's your guy!

Andrew is an amazing DJ!

Having a good DJ at your wedding can make or break the night - and Andrew truly did make our wedding! We immediately were drawn to him since he plays the piano in addition to DJing and we knew it would be a really nice added touch to our ceremony (it was!!) After speaking to him for the first time, we knew we were a good match and felt he was understanding, patient, flexible, calming and very organized! We are so glad we used Andrew as he executed the day perfectly - from bringing all the highest quality equipment, to working with the venue and other vendors, to leading the guests seamlessly through the evening and then keeping them on the dance floor for the whole night - he does it all! He does a great job at reading the room and the crowd and we still have guests raving about the music at our wedding!

Expert DJ and pianist!

Andrew was the DJ at our wedding this past weekend. He is so talented with what you do. Our guests were raving about his piano playing during cocktail hour and how fun the dancing was. He really helped us to maintain the flow of the night and hit all of the important parts of our wedding timeline seamlessly! We so enjoyed working with him! Amazing DJ

Stop what you are doing and hire Andrew for your upcoming event! Andrew DJ/MC our September 2022 wedding and was super responsive, professional, and fun! We hired Andrew based on all the 5 star ratings and after our first conversations with him we immediately booked him. Andrew played piano for the ceremony and cocktail hour then switched over to his DJ equipment for our reception. He had everything you need for a full ceremony and reception including mics and up lighting! We had a small handful of must play songs for the reception and let Andrew do his thing, and he did not disappoint! Our dance floor was packed the entire 4 hours of dancing- he just knows how to feed the crowd and played songs that even kept the older folks going as well. Several months later and we still have guests raving about how great the DJ was. I cannot recommend Andrew enough.

Hire Andrew Now!

Reach out to Andrew before someone scoops him up for your wedding date! Not only does he do a fantastic job as a DJ reading the room and keeping the dance party vibes going all night, but also the value he brings in being able to play live piano makes working with him a no brainer. We gave him some non-traditional wedding ceremony songs we wanted and he played them on his electric piano (which sounds like the real thing!) It made the ceremony extra special to have live music without having to pay for separate live musicians. Our venue also had a Steinway grand piano that he played during dinner. His prices are already great just for DJing, but adding in the live music makes it an incredible deal. Thank you, Andrew, for making our wedding a truly unforgettable night!

Perfect June 2019 Wedding

Andrew was recommended to me by a high school classmate. I was intrigued that he also offers to play piano at an additional cost. All encounters with him over the phone and through email were always professional, and laid back. His pricing is very reasonable for how experienced he is. To this day we still get compliments about the music and DJ at our wedding. I have never seen that many people continuously on the dance floor! Can’t thank him enough for making our day perfect!

Amazing Music!

I just can’t say enough good things about Andrew! He was AMAZING and was truly key in making our wedding reception at Helsinki Hudson such a success! He played the piano for cocktail hour and then transformed into an AWESOME DJ afterwards. He not only provided an easy to use interface for choosing songs, but he also spent time with us beforehand to get a better feel for how we wanted the evening to flow. If my husband and I could give one piece of advice to those planning a wedding, it would be to HIRE ANDREW!!!! He is so exceptionally talented and skilled, and will truly create such a fun atmosphere for your wedding. Our dance floor was jam-packed the entirety of our wedding, and we still have people commenting on how incredible our DJ was. He also played piano during cocktail hour and it was so incredibly beautiful. Andrew, thank you for making our day so perfect. Our memorable wedding turned into a disco party!

Andrew was very flexible, easy going and was able to make our wedding even more memorable. We reside in Los Angeles and Andrew was easy to communicate with from afar. He met with our coordinator at the venue to make sure logistics were done right prior to our wedding date. The day of, Andrew had everyone at the dance floor immediately after speeches and dances. Highly recommend him!!!

One of the best choicest we could have made!

If you're considering Andrew as your DJ, the best advice I could give you is to stop reading this right now and HIRE HIM immediately. We heard about Andrew because he worked as the DJ at two weddings that our friend had attended. Not only did she rave about the music, she said that he was incredibly easy to work with.

Andrew is a kind, organized, and incredible DJ who knows just how to tailor the music to your guests to get them all out on the dance floor. His online planning system made it easy to select our must play list, and his scheduling feature allowed us to add in special announcements or moments like toasts.

Also, with Andrew, you get both a DJ and an amazing pianist. We originally planned to have him play piano at the ceremony and cocktail hour and then switch to DJing the reception. When it rained and he couldn't play piano outside, he was still amazingly poised and seamlessly switched to recorded music. More than once during the day, Andrew literally sprinted to retrieve a mic and ensure that everything went off without a hitch.

During the planning process, Andrew demonstrated the extremely valuable and rare skill of being able to deliver expert advice in a way that was not only helpful but also accessible. With his help, we were able to craft a reception timeline that went forward flawlessly.

One of the main things our guests commented on at our wedding, was just how out of this world our DJ was. He managed to get people of all different generations and backgrounds out on the dance floor and knew just how to time the rhythm of the night.

I would recommend Andrew to absolutely anyone and would 100% hire him if we ever need a DJ in the future. Thank you Andrew for providing a perfect soundtrack for our wedding day!

The Best! Highly recommended

Andrew was the perfect Pianist and DJ for our wedding day. He played the piano for the ceremony and for 2 HOURS during the cocktail reception. He had a wide range of classic and modern hits that he rocked on the keyboard. Then during the reception we essentially had 2 different sets of music, with a 20 min break/send off in between. He played to the crowd perfectly in each case; sticking with older and many classic hits earlier while the older crowd was still there. When we came back in for round 2, it was mostly the youthful crowd remaining and what ensued was more-or-less a hopping nightclub. All around great to work with and you could see his passion when he's spinning tracks and rocking the air guitar along to the music. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is hunting for the right DJ for their wedding.

Great at reading and adjusting to crowd!

Andrew was always professional and friendly, and was a great addition to my wedding. If he took a break, I never saw it. He had an uncanny ability to adjust to the crowd. For example, he kept the older guests dancing. But when they began to filter out at a later hour he adjusted the music and really got the place rocking for the younger guests.

I'd highly recommend Andrew for any party!

Andrew was fantastic. I won't tell you anything the prior reviews haven't told you but if he is available for your date - do yourself and your guests a favor and hire him. The piano during the cocktails and the ceremony was beautiful and the dance floor was never empty during the reception (one of my biggest fears for the wedding, no lie). He worked flawlessly and moved around from one location to the next at the venue so smoothly, I didn't notice it once (Maple Shade Farm has 3 different locations on site, so I imagine it's not the easiest venue to maneuver as a vendor). Andrew, thank you for dodging what I'm sure were MANY ridiculous requests from the guests and thank you so much for working with our timeline! We hope to work with Andrew again in the future!

Andrew played during my ceremony and cocktail hour and DJd the reception -- he even found an accomplished, amazing guitarist to accompany him. He was incredibly responsive and helpful during the planning process. He answered all of my questions and I knew I was in good hands. His client area on his website is also great for planning purposes.

And the music on the night-of....

The ceremony and cocktail music were absolutely perfect. He got what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. And the dance floor was packed the entire time -- I received SO many compliments on the music choice. He had everyone, from our friends to our grandparents, up from their chairs and getting down the whole evening.

Without a doubt Andrew is the best DJ! His music made our wedding fun and unforgettable. Everyone absolutely raved about the music and every time talk to any of our guests they still talk about how great the music was! Andrew was a pleasure to work with before, during and even sent a great note after the wedding. He also really 'got' our music taste (which is not super mainstream) and listened to us. Good music was one of our top priorities for our wedding reception, and Andrew made all of our dreams come true! I don't even know how to BEGIN to say how amazing Andrew is. He is truly the best! I found Andrew through a friend who attended a wedding he DJ'd and reached out shortly after we set a date for our wedding. He has a super user-friendly client portal on his website where you can enter your wedding timeline, song request lists, do no play songs, etc. In addition to being an incredible DJ, he is also an accomplished musician and he player some great tunes on the piano during our cocktail hour. Andrew's DJ skills kept our guests (and the bride and groom!) on the dance floor all night long. He is incredibly responsive to emails, is super professional, and he's also one of the nicest people I've ever met. It was truly an honor to have him DJ our wedding! A few days after my wedding, one of my best friends was on her way to another wedding and she texted me and told me while she and her husband were on the way to that wedding her husband said "No wedding DJ will ever be as good as the one at Becca and Tyler's wedding". It's totally true. Hire Andrew, you will NOT be disappointed!

If music is a top priority for your wedding then I would highly recommend Andrew Westphal and his services. Andrew has a vast knowledge of music; he is both a pianist and DJ. That was one of the main reasons that I chose him. I feel that live music at a wedding ceremony brings a level of specialness. Andrew entertained my guests before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour with beautiful piano music. He played for the ceremony as well and it was perfect. I spent a lot of time on the music portal that Andrew has set up for his clients. It was very helpful for planning special songs and creating a perfect mix of dance music. Andrew took the time to review everything with me in detail the week before the wedding. He made suggestions based on his experience and expertise. I was truly grateful for that. I heard many of my guests commenting on how great the DJ was. I am pretty sure the dance floor was occupied at all times! I would hire Andrew again in a heartbeat. Great musician and (non-corny) DJ.

Andrew Westphal was our wedding DJ in in July 2016. Prior, we attended a wedding where Andrew was the DJ and really enjoyed the music and entertainment that night, decided to utilize his services and we couldn't be happier with that decision. Andrew was not only our DJ, but also played the piano beautifully during our cocktail hour and dinner, facilitated the music during our ceremony and was gracious enough to coordinate a special performance of a song with a member of our wedding party. Andrew was professional, friendly and put us at ease from the moment we began corresponding with him via email through our wedding day. He had a great feel for the room, eclectic taste and had everybody dancing and having a great time. Andrew was also excellent at managing the introduction of the wedding party and parents, announcements, organizing the toasts, etc. Andrew also really saved the day when it started to rain and he took charge in terms of looking up the weather forecast and finding us a window of time to have our ceremony. We can't review him highly enough.

Our daughter got married at Suzanne's Fine Regional Cuisine in Lodi October 15th and Andrew was superb! Not being from the area I contacted him a year before and felt so confident after we spoke that he knew what we wanted I booked him on the spot. He played the piano at the ceremony and dinner and our guests enjoyed him so much they applauded! The fun really started with the dancing, and did they dance! He is professional, easy to work with, and our guests said it was the best wedding!
We just hope we can find someone like him when our next daughter gets married!

Really cannot recommend Andrew enough. While some of our other vendors stressed us out with their lack of responsiveness and flexibility, Andrew was the complete opposite - quick to respond, worked around our schedule for check-in calls, listened to our vision for the reception, and was all-around very professional. That's not to mention that the music for the entire evening was great, he worked in our requests and guest's requests, and was able to get everyone up and dancing with a mix of songs. DJ Andrew Westphal is the best there is! My dad really wanted a band just like he had at his wedding, but after hearing Andrew he said that he was better than a band! And it couldn't be more true!

Andrew played the piano during our ceremony, cocktail hour, and during dinner and then he got the dancing started! His music that he played was so beautiful and couldn't have been more perfect!

From the very beginning when first talking with Andrew I knew he was the right fit for us. He was so nice to talk to and shared my exact vision for the day. He was so organized and was always there to answer any questions. Whenever we spoke I never felt rushed through the planning and I just knew that I could count on him since this wasn't his first rodeo. I took his lead because he said it had my back! He even helped my sister with a special audio/visual piece for her speech. That was above and beyond!

We are so grateful to Andrew for making our day a success and for keeping everyone out on the dance floor with us! Best DJ of all time!

So happy that we booked Andrew for our 50 person wedding in Hudson, NY. He played the piano (beautifully I might add) for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner service, and then switched over to DJ mode to really get the party started. Andrew was absolutely wonderful to work with. Music makes or breaks a wedding. Andrew Westphal made our wedding ceremony and reception the best night ever. Our guests still ask who did the music and rave about how much fun they had. Every single person was dancing. Initially, Andrew played the piano before and after out ceremony. It was perfect and he was seamless in the transition to dancing the night away. Our wedding was put together in just over three weeks. Andrew was highly organized and unbelievably easy to deal with. We let him make the majority of the musical choices (but you can plan your entire night with his extensive planner) and our trust was well placed. Phenomenal professional and worth every penny.

It's over 6 months post-wedding and I am still getting rave reviews from my guests about Andrew. I do not have enough positive things to say about him - he was simply amazing!

Pre-wedding:
-extremely communicative pre-wedding (phone calls, emails, great tools on his website)
-he made sure he knew exactly what we wanted for schedule, music styles, etc, and had great suggestions based off his experience
-he procured all requested songs, plus we provided a couple cultural/personal ones
-we came up with a great schedule of events, felt good about the music that would be played, and had no worries going into the big day.

Ceremony:
-Outdoors; he provided a portable speaker/mic system for the officiant, plus played piano & requested songs. Beautiful.
-The vendor providing chairs didn't show up - that sucked. But Andrew stepped in asking "what can I do to help". When some chairs showed up late, he voluntarily helped pin flowers to them. Bottom line – he’s a great guy.

Reception:
-Played piano for cocktail hour = was great.
-MC: he kept touching base with us throughout the night regarding the different "events" like cake cutting, etc. We had loose time frames for when each should take place, but he read the crowd and suggested when we move into each event, in between the dancing. Result = great flow, low stress.
-DJ skills - I don't even know what to say here, he was just straight up AMAZING. You have no idea how many guests raved about Andrew, even still MONTHS after the wedding. Every single song was perfect and kept the crowd on the dance floor and the energy levels high. His flow and music choice was perfect. Beyond that, he was rocking out behind his DJ equipment and worked up a sweat dancing himself, and everyone was lovin it! So not only did he make the night amazing for us, but he was the key to making our party a total BLAST for all of our guests.

TL;DR Andrew is amazing. Hire him for your wedding and you will be thrilled.

Andrew was such an incredible addition to our wedding and we couldn't be happier with him as our DJ and cocktail hour musician! Most of our guests said he was the best DJ they've ever experienced at a wedding and we completely agree! He not only was the DJ for our reception, but also played the piano during cocktail hour and it was fantastic. Andrew worked with us to ensure he understood the vibe of the wedding and made sure all of our must have music was incorporated into the day. Andrew is a professional when using the mic and only brings attention to himself when it is necessary, definitely not one of those cheesy announcer types. He was able to get everyone on the dance floor with his music selections throughout the entire night, with guests chanting for an encore at the end. Andrew played the piano for our wedding ceremony and was the DJ for our reception this past August in the Catskills. We had some odd (not typical) requests for the piano music during the ceremony and he did not even hesitate when we asked him if he could play them. They sounded so beautiful and people were so impressed with such a nice spin on ceremony music. For the reception, he listened to our requests and definitely was great at reading the crowd to know what to play. We had a very diverse crowd but Andrew's choices seemed to please everyone! We had a long reception but people were still dancing all night. Andrew was so easy to communicate with during the planning and was very responsive to our questions. We are two people who are very picky about music and Andrew did a great job keeping the party going!

When we first found Andrew Westphal on wedding wire, we read the testimonials and honestly doubted if such an excellent DJ could exist. But those doubts were thrown out the window from the moment we began working with him. We felt so at ease the months leading up to the wedding because of his comprehensive and easy to use online tools and our regular check ins. He responded to our emails promptly and helped us figure out every last detail. Andrew worked completely along side us and offered his expertise to help create the wedding of our dreams. From setting up, to the processional and recessional, to the cocktail hour and dancing, everything was better than we could have hoped. We anticipated maybe a quarter of our guests would dance but all through the night the dance floor was packed with so many of our family and friends. The energy was just fantastic and he kept it going all night long. Everyone attending the wedding could not stop talking about how wonderful he was and we could not agree more.

Hire Andrew. Period. He is the most professional, talented, and dedicated DJ I have ever come across. Almost no one at our wedding left early, and that was almost purely because of the atmosphere Andrew created (and Andrew not once brought attention to himself). We had guests tell us that it was the most fun they've had at a wedding in years, and that they wanted to take a break from the dance floor, but they just couldn't find a good song to skip! Andrew also played piano for our ceremony and cocktail, and it was some of the most beautiful piano playing I've ever heard. On top of all this, Andrew is fun and so pleasant to be around - we couldn't have asked for a nicer DJ to run our wedding. I simply can't say enough about Andrew as a DJ, musician, and person. Andrew Westphal did an amazing job working with us on our summer wedding at Sonnenberg Gardens. He was very flexible in working with Sonnenberg and made sure that he had all of the extra equipment necessary for our outdoor wedding. It was great to have someone who is also a musician because he was able to arrange the ceremony in a unique and very personal way. He also did a great job selecting music for the reception, everyone was on the dance floor for the entire evening and all of our friends commented on how great the dance music was. Andrew is a fantastic DJ and generally just the kind of person you want at your wedding. He was incredibly helpful during the whole process. We skyped with him a few times to get a sense of his style and our taste in music. He played all the right songs at all the right times (including a few weird requests from me-the bride-, which ended up working out really well). One thing I really appreciated was that he actually came up and asked me if it was cool to play the song "Blurred Lines." I have a lot of strong feminist friends and I really thought it was cool that he knew the song could be a bit controversial and thoughtfully asked if it was OK to play.

He executed perfectly what I thought a DJ should do, including helping call people to dinner, playing all the right dinner music, and taking requests from guests. Even though the dance floor was crooked and people were sliding around, Andrew's music kept them coming back to dance!

One of the fun moments of the night: when the tent was empty and we were about to make our grand exit, I glanced back and Andrew was busting some moves on the empty dance floor. What a chill guy who really loves his job!

Kudos to Andrew for being an incredible DJ and pianist at our daughter's wedding in the Finger Lakes. The venue owner said he was the best DJ ever at their establishment. My friends and family thought I was crazy for hiring someone I had never met to play at my wedding but after reading all the great reviews on Andrew I was willing to take the risk and boy am I glad I did!

Andrew truly is the full package.. We had him play the piano during our cocktail hour and it was extremely classy and elegant. He is an amazing musician.

We pretty much gave Andrew Carte Blanche with music for the reception and he did a fantastic job playing to the crowd! Our guest were out on the dance floor non stop from the beginning of the night right until the end of the last dance!

At the end of the night we got tons of compliments on the music and our choice if DJ. I couldn't be happier with my decision to hire Andrew, he was such a pleasure to work with. I would have him play for us again and would absolutely recommend him to everyone!!

Andrew was perfect for our wedding! He played piano during the cocktail hour that added a really classy touch. He was very flexible in working with a family member who sang at the wedding and was able to provide the necessary equipment for her. We had a relatively small wedding (45 people) and I was not sure if many people would dance but Andrew spent time with us before the event to help choose songs and read the guests perfectly to time the selections. Almost everyone danced most of the night!

It should be said that we drew upon his knowledge and experience to essentially plan out the entire flow of our wedding. We hired Andrew to play piano during our cocktail hour and to DJ during the subsequent reception. He was outstanding in both capacities. He played some old-timey ragtime music during the cocktail hour and that was really great to set the mood for our barn wedding. We also felt he went above and beyond, learning a song to play for our procession.

After the ceremony, he switched into DJ mode. We had used his online planning application to specify playlists, but he did a great job of selecting from those, and of adding his own choices, depending on the mood of the crowd. He's very sensitive to the room, and I can think of two specific instances in which that really came through: 1) at various times, my groom and/or I got pulled in to dance while people formed a circle around us. Getting out of that situation can be kind of awkward, but Andrew would gracefully end the song every time we made a move out of the circle, making our exit look completely natural; and 2) we didn't choose an official "final song," though we had "With a Little Help From My Friends" on our list of requested songs. Andrew intuited that that would make for a great final song, and it absolutely did - our friends and family circled up arm in arm and we had a little sing-a-long. It was one of my favorite moments from our wedding, and we owe it to Andrew.

To sum it up: Andrew is a talented, professional DJ, with great taste. Hiring him as a musician/DJ combo makes for cohesive wedding entertainment for a great value.

Andrew communicated well in the months leading up to the wedding. He has all the tools to help you set up the songs you want in advance. All our questions were answered promptly and we knew that we would not have any issues with our music.

You will get the whole package with Andrew, perfect timing, your choice in song selection and he is a great piano player as well. There were music choices for everyone. During dinner Andrew played the piano and my 4 year old niece was up dancing around. He was so great at playing her requests and really made her night.

Not one issue with any part of his service. Our guests were up dancing all night. Our friends are still talking about how much of a great time our wedding was and I know that Andrew played a huge role.

Andrew Westphal absolutely deserves a 5 star rating. His quality of service was perfect. He learned specifically requested songs for my wedding ceremony and played them more beautifully than the original recordings. His musical flow during the reception worked fantastically. He always had people on the dance floor having a great time and knew the best moments to bring it down for slow dances. In dealing with Andrew prior to the event he always responded quickly to my emails and was always clear about any details we had to go over. I never left a conversation with him feeling worried that he didn't understand me. He is extremely professional. He arrived at the venue on time and was ready to go and even played his piano in the cold for our outdoor ceremony with cold fingers without complaint. The value of his service is excellent. He works very hard for his clients to make sure that THEY are happy and his rates are very fair. He is worth every penny. When some last minute changes were thrown into the mix, he handled them with ease and things ran very smoothly. He was cool calm and collected the whole night and he is really easy to talk to when you have an idea no matter how cheesy it is. There was no stress involved with dealing with him. He is a professional through and through and we were able to trust him with making sure everything went well. From our initial phone inquiry through the last song played at our wedding, we found Andrew to be a joy to work with. Before the big day, he answered all of our questions and was very responsive both via phone/video chats and via email such that we were very assured going into the wedding that we were on the same page and had everything set both for the ceremony and the reception.

Andrew played piano for our ceremony and cocktail hour as well as DJing the reception. We chose some contemporary songs for our ceremony music and he adapted them to the piano beautifully. He worked with our officiant to review timing and cues before the ceremony and all the music went off without a hitch.

As DJ, Andrew was equally fantastic. He played a great playlist through dinner, incorporating some of our own song choices and some of his own to create the perfect atmosphere. Once dancing started it was more of the same - some songs we'd requested and a few of Andrew's picks all very well timed to keep the dance floor upbeat and to provide a great flow to the evening.

We had a small wedding and were initially going to opt for a 'DIY route' with the music, asking a friend to man an i-pod. After such a fun and seamless evening, we can't imagine having tried to pull off our celebration without the aid of such an apt professional. In addition to his musical talent on the piano and at the DJ booth, Andrew was a huge help in just keeping the evening's events running smoothly. We did not have an event planner, but Andrew kept the celebration on mark for everything from transitioning from cocktail hour to the reception, introductions and toasts, first dances and cake cutting. He is organized, professional, talented, and we couldn't be more happy with our choice to hire him. We whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone looking for beautiful music for their ceremony and a really great dance-party at their reception.

Andrew was a spectacular wedding DJ. The planning process was super easy--very efficient online forms that helped to plan our favorite songs and the flow of the event. Andrew really understood our music style and the type of party that we wanted to have.

On our wedding day, he was super accommodating for everything we needed. He played requested music for the ceremony, provided mics and sound for our outdoor event, and then truly got the party started. As the bride, I was so happy that I could go over and talk to him about songs coming up and put in other requests on a one-off basis.

Finally, our guests had a BLAST. The dance floor was packed the entire night and people told us they had a ton of fun. This made us feel really good about the event overall, and we have Andrew to thank for a large part of that feedback.

Andrew was incredibly professional, kind, respectful of our wishes, flexible and easy to work with. He was also awesome at getting people to dance and enjoy themselves at our wedding, which is exactly what we wanted. And not only did he DJ for us but he also played the piano! We could not have been happier with the choice of DJ for my son's wedding! Andrew Westphal was top-notch from start to finish. He knew how to read and play to the crowd, and the dance floor was full the entire night. People are still calling and saying it was one of the best weddings they had been to, and alot of the credit for that goes to Westphal Music! Andrew did an amazing job for or Sept 2013 wedding!

We were pretty hands-off, busy with a lot of other details and really just not sure what to ask for, and Andrew was able to make a great night with very little direction. It was a huge relief to book someone who was reviewed as doing a great job even without a lot of direction so we could focus on other things--and he absolutely delivered on those expectations. Our crowd was quite mixed—friends from college and work in their early 30’s, cousins with small children, parents and family in their 50’s and 60’s, so we weren’t sure we would even have much of a dancing crowd. But Andrew did a great job of reading the group and getting everyone on their feet.

Of course Andrew is more than just a great DJ—the piano adds a really personalized touch to the day. It makes for a beautiful cocktail hour and a truly beautiful ceremony. We asked for a few ‘unusual’ songs for our ceremony (White Stripes, Marley) that Andrew was able to quickly learn and play wonderfully. We would absolutely recommend Andrew for a memorable ceremony, a classy cocktail hour, and a killer party!

A+ Words cannot describe how wonderful it was to have Andrew at our wedding. I would hire him a hundred times over and absolutely recommend him. Friends came up to me and asked for the playlist. Seriously, Andrew, if you have the playlist and could send it to me, that would be magic.

We were a bit weary of getting a DJ in the first place. We didn't know who was decent and would rather no DJ than a mediocre one who talked the whole evening. When we asked our caterer for recommendations, she said he was the only option.

Andrew is subdued and lets the music do the talking. We didn't do many traditional reception events, so the guests only heard him a few times. It was more gentle instructions, as opposed to him ordering everyone to get their boogie on.

He found me twice to ok songs. They must have been the only moments that I was not talking to guests. He certainly never interrupted me. I was mystified how he knew to ask me about one song. It is a very popular song, often played at weddings that my father-in-law requested and was not on our do-not-play list. However, it happened to be memorably played at a classmate’s funeral. It would have dampened the mood had that song been played while people were dancing.

Everyone danced. Seriously. Everyone. Even my 87 year old grandmother with a cane. The music was so good and the vibe so positive that you couldn't help yourself. My husband invited a bunch of camping buddies who probably never danced in their life, and they danced. It was fabulous.

Andrew was very willing to meet with us before the event to get a sense of what music we liked. He is very easy to talk to, humble and very pleasant. Don't let that fool you. He knows how to throw one mad party.
In summary, I would like the playlist, start to finish, because it was awesome. Patentable. On a more serious note, I highly recommend Andrew. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and to be around. I would hire him again in an instant. And so should you.

Andrew Westphal made our wedding a memory that will be remembered with GREAT sound effects! The entire experience was great! The initial coordinations, the easy to use website, and most importantly the event itself were professional and set the atmosphere for an amazing party. Thanks for your attention to detail and taking care of all of our special requests and toasts. While wedding planning overall can be a stressful experience, booking Westphal music was the easiest part of the entire event and it had the biggest payoff for making the celebration very enjoyable. I have nothing but awesome, positive things to say about Andrew Westphal. He was the DJ for our June 2013 wedding in the Capital Region of Upstate NY, and did everything absolutely perfectly. The dance floor was hopping from start to finish, even with record breaking heat where we live the day of my wedding in a non-air conditioned building (which typically would have been fine). We gave him a set list and he stuck to it like we asked with just a little improv, which was completely excellent & crowd pleasing. Plus, prior to the wedding in a meeting he kindly offered a few suggestions which we added and they were perfect. By the way, if you prefer that your DJ pick your music, I have complete confidence he’d do a great job at that too. To top it off (x3), he is an incredibly nice person and enjoyable to work with, his website and demeanor were extremely professional, and he is a talented pianist!! He played piano during our cocktail hour which I loved. Also, when I was researching DJs, All of Andrew’s reviews seemed too good to be true, so I actually called Hunter Mountain independently to get a review directly from a wedding coordinator – that sealed my confidence, and indeed he lived up to the reputation posted on the wedding wire. If you need a pinch to know he’s the real deal, ask to speak with the wedding coordinator at Hunter Mountain or with Kevin or Vito at Mazzone Hospitality (Hall of Springs in Saratoga Springs, NY). We can’t thank Andrew enough for helping our guests dance the night away in spite of the insane heat and helping our wedding to be such an awesome, fun party.

My wife and I pulled off an amazing wedding this past August. We had been planning it for a while. However, as any party planner can tell you, there are always tons of loose ends and last minute issues to deal with. Somehow through all the planning we overlooked the music preparations. Luckily we hired Mr. Westphal to DJ at our wedding. He was the Perfect choice. He made himself available to chat with online so that he could get a good grasp of what we were looking for. Through his website we could easily fill outline all the details of the wedding. For example: music we'd like for the cake cutting, the first dance, timing of the events of the party, etc. He also made himself available through spotify so that we could share playlists for the big day.

As I said before, however, music was the last thing we had on our minds when planning this event; there were so many other things to organize. Therefore we unfortunately didn't use all of the services he offered. This brings me to the best part. About 2 weeks before the wedding we realized that it was time to face the music and finalize a playlist. My wife and I were blanking on all the songs we'd hope to hear at the wedding. So we gave Mr. Westphal a call and after a few minutes of chatting online he was able to put together the playlist for the big day. He's got multiple lists of popular music of different genres, time periods, styles etc. which he references. These lists are key to planning any event. He was incredibly flexible and we are so thankful that he seemed on top of it. He asked the right questions to be able to handle the events as they panned out on the big day. He provided his own set up and lights that weren't tacky, he played the perfect music at the right times and was great at getting people up and dancing. He's extremely professional and he doesn't give off that cheesy vibe that I've gotten from other DJ's.

We Highly recommend Mr. Westphal to DJ at any event.

My fiance booked Andrew after talking with him on the phone and I was nervous as we didn't meet with him until about 2 weeks before the wedding but I was immediately put at ease upon meeting him. He expertly blended our playlist with other songs to suit all of the age groups at our wedding so everyone had songs to dance to. Most of our guests were on the dance floor the whole night and didn't want him to leave at the end of the reception. I can't even count the amount of times our guests have already commented how great he was. We highly recommend Andrew.

Andrew was professional, personable, and reliable from the minute we chose him as our DJ. He guided us through the entire process, and with our help, really created an expert playlist for our wedding. Because of him, our wedding atmosphere was flawless. People were on the dance floor within the first song or two, and the bridal party introductions were exactly on queue. He hit every song at the exact moment, and really made it a party to remember. I’ve never been to a wedding where people were dancing and enjoying themselves until the very last song; however, this changed with our wedding. We still have people calling to tell us it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended. None of this would have been possible if it weren’t for Andrew and his excellent work. We highly recommend Andrew for any and all of your music needs!

Andrew played the piano for our wedding service and reception. He was great to deal with during the planning process, he accommodated easily any special requests we had and was very easy to work with and very helpful in making sure everything was perfect. His keyboard talent is excellent, he made our day all that much more special. The music was wonderful! I would highly recommend Andrew for your event, wedding or otherwise, he made every part from the planning to the wedding a wonderful experience and all our guests commented on how beautiful he played... he truly added to making our day so special

Andrew was amazing! He played our ceremony and cocktail music beautifully. He had all of our guests up and dancing. Everyone had a great time at our wedding and Andrew is a major reason why people had so much fun! Andrew really listened to what we wanted played and was overall a pleasure to deal with. Andrew is awesome! We had two distinct parts to our wedding - the outdoor cocktail party and ceremony then the reception upstairs in the barn at the Millbrook Winery. Andrew provided music for both - he played the grand piano for the ceremony and the cocktail hour and then DJ'd for the reception. I can't explain enough how perfect all the selections, timing and overall execution was. Our music tastes are so all over the place that I felt bad even trying to explain to him and have it make sense. He was able to put into words, or music should I say, our intentions exactly and we'd hoped. He read the crowd, kept the party alive when we were up dancing, accompanied the cocktail hour with perfect mood-setting selections, and the perfect build up during the ceremony. Can't wait to book him for another event - he "gets" it!

Andrew was absolutely terrific! I had so many people at the wedding tell me how wonderful the music was. Everyone, young and old was up dancing the entire reception. He seamlessly mixed all the songs I had requested with requests from guests and made it such an amazing day. He even handled a power outage caused by the caterer with ease. He was a constant presence without being overbearing, which is exactly what we had asked of him. Also he was such a nice guy to work with, so accomodating to changes we made last minute. I honestly can't say enough nice things about Andrew and would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone planning a special event.

Andrew dj'ed our wedding at Hunter Mountain this past Saturday and he was the best. He really caught our "vibe" and we had only spoken to him once over the phone. We loved his web-based song request & planning system because it made it easy to add songs requests as we thought of them. We were really happy that instead of playing the same tired music you hear at every wedding, Andrew played more interesting and diverse music, from jazz and Frank Sinatra during the cocktail hour, to more "dance-y" music later in the night. I would recommend Andrew to anyone that has more sophisticated musical tastes, and wants to have a distinctive and memorable wedding soundtrack then you would hear from the Jersey Shore type DJ's that you normally hear.

Andrew was a wonderful part of our wedding festivities! He performed custom piano selections for our ceremony ("Still Alive" from Portal was our recessional and we had music from Final Fantasy VIII) and had everyone tapping their toes during cocktail hour. The reception music was also wonderful! He played a lot of our requests, but he also played crowd pleasers that got everyone dancing. Even my husband's grandma got out on the dance floor! Everyone had a great time and kept telling us how our wedding was the most fun they had had in a while. My husband and I are very pleased with the service Andrew provided. The only reason why we gave 4.5 for responsiveness was because we had thought that we would have a little more contact with him prior to the event - things were so quiet I almost forgot that we needed to meet with him! But we did eventually sit down to chat, and everything was good. Thank you so much to Andrew for making our wedding day music extra special!

Andrew made our night even better than we could've asked for - leading up to the day, he showed true professionalism, recommendations and flexibility - and really just asked all of the right questions. He was very focused on making our night ours completely.

He organized a day of flow in advance of the day, we went through our (very detailed and handpicked) playlists and he had a deep understanding of our taste and what was important to play right away. We got complimented all night on the music, the dancing was continuous and the energy stayed high the entire time.

At one point during the reception Andrew kindly mentioned that we were running a bit behind and he helped us get the events moving again and adjusted accordingly. He was just so helpful from start to finish. To top it off, he sent us a beautiful thank you card, with a picture of us taken from his vantage point at the ceremony. Just a wonderful, kind person. Andrew - thank you and I hope you continue to prosper - your business is flawless.

We asked Andrew to DJ late-night at our Sep 2011 wedding. On very short notice, he was responsive, easy to work with, and did an amazing job. Has a great feel for the crowd and kept us all dancing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others or use him again!
