Working with Alison at Wessel's (Ruxton) was absolutely a wonderful experience. I had not a clue what I wanted in flowers and Alison helped me shape my beautiful wedding. The flowers turned out absolutely beautiful. Alison also helped us stay within our budget, something we were really grateful for. I ended up with everything I ever wanted in my wedding flowers thanks to her and Wessel's!

Alison at Wessels was absolutely amazing! She is extremely responsive (as in emails were answered in less than 10 minutes). Our meetings were easy to schedule and she never wasted any time. She was extremely knowledgeable and "got" what we wanted. The flowers at the wedding were beautiful! She did our bouquets, boutonnieres, some corsages for the grandmas and the centerpieces and the flowers on our cake. Everything looked absolutely perfect! People were trying to escape with centerpieces by the end of the night. Would highly recommend her to anyone. She made the flower process so easy. My absolute favorite vendor. Thanks Alison!

Alison at Wessels was fantastic to work with throughout the planning process. From the very first meeting, she was extremely helpful and enthusiastic about creating a look for our event. She was able to take my very vague description of what I had in mind and transform it into a beautiful end product. She was very responsive and flexible, even down to last minute schedule changes for the day of the wedding. Everything went smoothly the day of and I could not have asked for more gorgeous flowers!

I was beyond thrilled with the flowers at my wedding. Allison did a fantastic job of creating arrangements that I wanted, while also keeping my budget in mind. I am a huge flower fanatic, which means I would be hard to please. With that being said, I was THRILLED when I saw the flowers arrive. It was everything I had dreamed of and more! Allison listened to what I was looking for and found the perfect flower and design to suit all of my needs. Looking back, one of the things that made my day so special was having the best bouquets, centerpieces, etc. Thank you Wessel's!!!!

The staff at Wessels was as professional as one would ever want. The quality of the flowers and the beauty of their design was exquisite. I would highly recommend them for any for all services required. Allison was our floral coordinator and her knowledge and professionalism was greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Working with Alison at Wessel's was a wonderful experience. We met 3 times in total, and the end result was perfect. Alison helped to create my image, and there were no issues on the day of. Wessel's delivered flowers to my parents house, to the church, and to the venue without a hitch. If you want a stress-free flower experience for your wedding, Wessel's is the best! Not to mention that the flowers at my wedding were STUNNING. Highly recommended!!

I was truly happy with everything provided by the Florist. Alison was flexible in meeting me and working with my estimated price. The price was very reasonable and the execution on the actual day was flawless. Everything was just as planned. They were recommended to me and I would highly recommend using this florist to someone else.

Alison did an amazing job with my flowers. I ended up having three different types of centerpieces (tall, short, and a cluster), and they came out better than I imagined. She really understood my vision and helped me achieve it. She introduced me to flowers I didn't know about, but were exactly what I was looking for. She also was great about keeping me in the loop so I was never worried about anything. My mom, who is what I would call a floral aficionado, was enthralled with the results. Alison really helped me turn my ballroom wedding into the garden wedding I wanted (without the heat of being outdoors in July).

Affordable and gorgeous, Wessel's went above and beyond our expectations while being considerate of our budget. Alison was a delight to work with. Neither of us are very knowledgeable about flowers, so having her experience to draw on was a huge help. The flowers were set up beautifully both at the venue and on our cake. We would absolutely recommend this florist!

I worked primarily with Christine . Her help, services, and advice was absolutely wonderful! The flowers from the shop were beautiful and were so fresh! All of our guests were commenting on how great it all looked!!!!!!!! We used their flowers for our centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages! I would definitely recommend Wessel's to others!

Our wedding was this past weekend, and all of our floral arrangements were exactly what I wanted. We worked with Alison and she was extremely helpful in providing ideas and advice for which flowers would provide the soft, romantic feel I wanted for the wedding while being able to work within our budget. She did not push any certain types of flowers on us, like calla lilies or roses, which I experienced when meeting with other florists, and I really appreciated this. She was also extremely easy to work with and talk to, and we felt comfortable working with her right away. Alison also responded to all of my emails in a timely manner, which gave me great peace of mind, as I tend to ask a lot of questions and change my mind! The day of the wedding the flowers were delivered and everything was exactly as I imagined. Wessel's did a great job and I definitely recommend them to other brides in the Baltimore area!

From the consultation to the big day, I couldn't have been happier with wessels. Alison took my few requests and transformed them into the most beautiful bouquet! I had my wedding this past weekend and I loved the flowers that Wessel's provided. They were very fresh and looked amazing. Also I loved working with the staff. Wessel's Florist was a dream. Initially, I was working with a florist that moved on from the company and I was a little nervous that whoever took on my wedding wouldn't understand the vision that the first florist did. Boy, was I wrong. Alison was AMAZING! She was calm, cool, collected and knew exactly what I wanted and what I needed. I loved my flowers, they were so gorgeous. Wessel's was amazing! We started working with Dave, but then found out a month before the wedding he left the company; so we felt like we were starting from scratch, but Alison, who took Dave's spot was just as amazing. She made our reception look spectacular, not to mention my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets and everybody elses looking perfect! In fact, since we got married in a church they don't always allow flowers up o the altar, and I found last minute we were allowed very few, so I emailed her about a week before our wedding asking her to add some flowers for the altar; I didn't really give her specifics other than 'work your make magic,' and that she did! We were very pleased :)

Dave from Wessel's met with me to design the flowers. He asked me what I liked and then gave me tons of ideas and options. Every thing was delivered in great condition. We were also able to borrow columns for the ceremony and return them (on our own) for no charge. Everything was beautiful.

I would just like to thank Wessel's for the wonderful personal flowers that they provided for my wedding this past weekend. From start to finish, working with Wessel's was a joy. We met with Drew who listened to our ideas and theme and suggested many great blooms to achieve the look and feel we wanted. Unlike the other florists we met with, Wessel's showed us actual pictures of all the flowers (which was great for someone like me who lacks a green thumb) so we could really picture what he was describing.

When the bouquets, corsages, and boutonniere’s arrived (on time) the day of the wedding, the colors were perfect. The bouquets were the right size and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. The flowers looked great throughout the entire day (and several days later) and did not wilt or break. I would highly recommend Wessel's to anyone in the Ellicott City area looking for a florist.

The flowers ROCKED!!!! I can't say much more. You guys did a fabulous job. From the ceremony to the reception, everyone commented on how the colors popped and added such nice backdrops for the pictures. Alison and her staff at Wessel’s Florist were a joy to work with from beginning to end in the wedding planning process. Alison is very passionate for flowers and is really great with her customers. She is very knowledgeable and experienced in the art of flowers and she will not steer you wrong. She is also very communicative throughout the process as well as flexible and energetic in putting together all the flower details! During my first consultation with her, she made a wonderful impression on me--she allowed me to bring my dog into the shop. It was so sweet of her as she did not have to do that.

She walked through with me all the flower aspects of a wedding and was well-organized. She gave me suggestions to get the best bang for my buck and was upbeat and receptive in my vision and requests. She wrote everything down and made a copy for me to take home with me which outlined the roundabout cost of our wedding flower choices. There was no waiting around for a quote. She also followed up so nicely and her sense of organization, care to cost, and communication is what led us to choose Alison and her staff for our wedding flowers.

We met for a second time before the wedding and she was just as upbeat, organized and energetic as the first meeting. We confirmed all the wonderful flower details and I left her shop feeling confident that she was going to execute our plan without fault. And, she did just that! Our wedding was made beautiful with her flower creations and she carried out our vision perfectly. The flowers were robust and beautifully arranged!

The only item I was not 100% happy about was the draping we had requested for the arbor. I was hoping for a little more drapery coverage on the arbor, but Alison had made it clear to me that the look of the drapery would be dependent on the arbor. I have to admit this could be a fault of mine as I did not discuss specific design with her. Aside from that, we were extremely happy with the product and staff!

Wessel's florist provided exceptional service for our wedding! Alison spent a long time just leaning about my wife and I and listening to the types of flowers and arrangements we like. Then she went flower by flower with us to create beautiful and non-traditional bouquets filled with wild flowers, ferns, thistle, and more for both of us as well as for arrangements for centerpieces and and the ceremony. She worked completely within our budget and her arrangements and creativity created a beautiful atmosphere. They also were fine with using our collection of antique mason jars as the vases, and they spent a lot of time setting up flowers to hang from shepherds hooks that they placed along the beach where the ceremony took place. The service, value, and the flowers were all really fantastic! We loved our bouquets so much we dried them and have them hanging in our house. I would definitely recommend Wessel's florist.

When I first contacted Wessel’s for my wedding, I knew little about flowers but I did know I had a modest budget. Allison immediately put me at ease and worked with me, promising me lovely, tasteful arrangements—and they delivered!

I decided on roses and tulips for bouquets and boutonnieres and freesia nosegays for the moms. We then picked out full, colorful table arrangements. I also asked if they could sprinkle a few rose petals on the cake. The way the red roses draped over the cake tiers ultimately looked like a work of art
Wessel’s did an incredible job at an affordable price. I’ve since dried my bridal bouquet and it sits on display as a reminder of a perfect evening.

Wessel's by far achieved everything we envisioned for our wedding and more! I originally had our consultation with Dave and planned out everything we had envisioned for our big day, but had later been informed he would no longer be working with the company. I was a little skeptical at first only because I was afraid some of the details we wanted would be lost. Alison met with us, reviewed everything, and definitely exceeded our expectations. She was honest with flower selections and in guiding us with things we did not need for our big day. Everything arrived timely, the flowers were fresh, very elegantly assembled, and the colors were so vibrant they definitely accented the event perfectly! Our centerpieces were absolutely gorgeous! Everything was flawless. Thank you so much for helping to make our day so perfect!

Wessels did a FANTASTIC job. Not only were my flowers beautiful, but the Chuppah, the basket for the gift table, the chair decor, centerpeices, and the beautiful rose petals scattered on the aisle were just perfect. It is exactly what I wanted and I had so many complliments during our wedding day. It made our beautiful November Day even more beautiful. Hats off to Dave for a absolutely tremendous job!!!!

Wessel's was able to take what I had dreamed and make it a reality. I wanted calla lilies for the bridal party and then orchids at the reception for the center pieces. They were able to show me the different options for each which help me make decisions on the color of flowers. I received many comments on how beautiful the flowers were. You will not be disappointed.

Our flowers on our wedding day were beautiful. In our consultation, Dave helped choose flowers that fit my vision as well as recommend other ways to incorporate flowers into our wedding and decor without being pushy. Communication was usually prompt and thorough.

In additional to the personal bouquets and bouts, Wessel's created beautiful arrangements for our ceremony, escort cards, and creatively decorated bird cages that I supplied. All the arrangements were well done and cohesive with each other.

My only disappointment was that I provided a specific photo of a bouquet that I wanted, and the plan was for the style was able to be replicated (with a couple changes to flower choices which we discussed). The bouquet that I was provided did not quite capture the original vision that I had for my bouquet. It ended up being more "rosey" than leafy than my inspiration photo was and what I was expecting. Another disappointment was that it had purple flowers included in it as well, as nowhere in my communication did I give purple as a desired color.

Even though my bouquet wasn't exactly my dream bouquet that I had envisioned, it was still beautiful and it certainly didn't ruin my day. All of the arrangements were beautiful and well done.

Overall Wessel's was great to work with and I was pleased with the flowers they provided.

I LOVED the way my flowers turned out for the wedding. They were exactly what I hoped for. Wessel's spent a lot of time with us at our initial planning session and showed a lot of creativity helping us plan our bouquets and centerpieces. They also have a large stock of vases, pedestals, and options for your ceremony and reception. We felt like things were fairly priced but they seemed to be pretty competitive with the rest of the florist's. We were able to save money by using our high and low reception centerpieces as arrangements on high and low columns for the ceremony. The Wessel's staff even stayed to help the venue staff move the floral arrangements into the reception. We were incredibly glad we chose Wessel's to do our flowers.

Wessel's Florist was fabulous! I went there because they are known for their wedding flowers and I loved what they did for me. My bouquet was breathtaking and the bridesmaids and groomsmen's flowers were great too. They are busy, but they designed my wedding with me according to who I am. They added flowers to my cake and did all the centerpieces. I did it all in green and white flowers. It looked like a garden party. They came in and set up and I didn't even see them. It was the easiest part of my wedding. The caterer was another story.
but the flowers made the wedding.

I absolutely loved working with Wessels. I worked with Jody and she understood the exact vision that I had for my wedding. I loved my Calla boquet, and she even sent pictures to my cell the day before the ceremony to make sure I liked them. The flowers at the reception were amazing as well, and just what I had pictured... softly flowing tulips! I was worried that my "pink" theme would be too much, but they made it perfect.

Wessel's has amazing, friendly, professional, talented staff that are with you every step of the way choosing your florals. Their contract is comprehensive so you can see the breakdown of everything you are purchasing, which allows you to make decisions about where cuts can be made if necessary or where you would like to add. We've had NOTHING BUT COMPLIMENTS for the flowers at the reception. Thank Wessel's for allowing me to think outside the box about my centerpieces and for making that out of the box vision a reality. My bouquet was absolutely stunning and I can't imagine myself holding anything else during the ceremony!

They blew me away with the creative designs for my wedding. I gave a general look and feeling I wanted and they ran with it. Everything turned out better than I had imagined. Jody was so helpful in making sure I got what I was looking for and I could see that she was truly excited for me.

I worked with Julie at Wessels and loved, loved, loved my flowers. They were my favorite part of my wedding. Everyone, even the photobooth attendant said that they had never been to a wedding with such amazing flowers. I showed Julie a few photos and talked about my ideas and I was completely blown away by how they looked and her creativity. She came up with great ways to reuse the ceremony flowers for the reception and while they were pretty pricey she made it fit within our budget. We asked for a few changes prior to the wedding (adding tables etc.) and were accomodated with no problem. There were also people who moved the arrangements from the ceremony location to the reception. I would highly recommend Wessels I even went to the trouble of getting my bouquet preserved which I never thought I would do.

Overall, we are happy with our decision to work with Wessel's Florist for our wedding. I met with Alison twice before our wedding (once for the initial consultation and once to finalize all the details) and she was wonderful. She made me feel comfortable, came up with some great ideas based on the very abstract guidance I provided, and was really easy to work with.

We just did flowers for our family and bridal party; no centerpieces. We had a very small bridal party - just a matron of honor, maid of honor, and best man. Alison helped me come up with some flower and color choices to make sure that the three of them would look cohesive without being too expensive.

On the day of our wedding, we were happy with most of our flowers - the boutonnieres were exactly what we expected and looked great and the maid/matron of honor bouquets were perfect and just what I had pictured! I was a little disappointed with my bridal bouquet - it was smaller than I expected and wasn't really what I had in mind. But I think that part of the issue was in my communication with Alison and not understanding what it would look like - it did have the flowers and shape we discussed, so I wouldn't hold that against them in the future!! (The bouquet also looked perfect with my dress, so it worked out fine!). Our other disappointment was with the mother/grandmother corsages - we went with orchids and they looked gorgeous but didn't hold up very well. After the mothers had hugged a few guests, the orchids started falling off - some didn't even make it through the ceremony. We'd probably go with a different flower in the future.

We would definitely recommend this vendor to others. Alison is really wonderful to work with and the flowers were delivered on time and in good shape! In the future, I would just be more clear on what I wanted/what things would look like to make sure my expectations were in line with what we were getting.

Giuli Cox was a pleasure to work with! She worked with us to get the look we wanted for a price that fit our budget. We completely changed our colors after we had already finalized the proposal and Giuli gladly revised our flowers and arrangements. We gave her a picture of a bouquet we liked and she recommended some modifications to fit our wedding. The bouquets and centerpieces were gorgeous and looked just like the picture we provided! Giuli went above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend her.

Wessel's was the one of the two best decisions that I made for my wedding. Drew's designs were imaginative and different and far from looking like typical wedding flowers. The colors perfectly complimented my bridesmaids dresses and linens and the flowers lasted all night. Amazing Amazing Amazing!

It took a long time to get a call back when I first inquired about flowers for our wedding. Apparently Allison was on vacation and she was the only one that meets with people. We were only able to meet two weeks before the wedding but luckily my order was small, I was undemanding and Allison got the idea of what I wanted quickly. Besides this, however, the flowers were beautiful and to my specifications. A little more money than I originally thought I would spend, but worth it in the end.

Wessels is a really great place to go when you want beautiful flowers that aren't too pricey. I absolutely loved the bouquets that Wessels made for my bridesmaids and I. The color palette was perfect- they popped so well against the bridesmaid dresses! They were exactly what I had envisioned for the day! A couple of details in the other flowers weren't quite what I'd had in mind, though- the hair flowers came on a barrette instead of the comb I'd asked for and two came off of the barrettes so I couldn't wear them. Also, the person setting up the centerpieces forgot the mirrors under the square vases, which wasn't a huge deal- they centerpieces were beautiful regardless, just missing that extra detail that I was really looking forward too. They gave me a gift card to make up for it. Overall, though, Wessels did a great job and were absolutely wonderful about working within our budget, which was very important to us.

I visited Wessel's due to their location. I chose Wessel's because of the ease of working with them. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They were accommodating and patient. Even the day before my wedding, when things weren't quite right, they stepped right in and made the changes I asked for. I would recommend Wessel's to anyone, not just brides.

I had a great consultation in Ellicott City and felt great about choosing this vendor. My in-laws were kind enough to pick up the tab for the flowers. They added an arch to the order and asked the florist to keep it a secret. He promptly let that cat out of the bag and didn't apologize for it until months later, the night before the wedding, via email. I asked for no roses and, although it was not written onto the order, I thought that decision was understood. The flowers were beautiful and not overpriced, but there were roses in every bouquet and aisle adornment. The two girls who came to set up the venue, before the ceremony, were absolutely lovely. Dave was not nice to my in-laws and got snippy with them, which seemed very different from his demeanor in my initial consultation, perhaps because my business was not yet secure. Overall, I think the value was great and the final product was very nice, but if you're looking for a super professional experience, this particular experience was kind of flawed.

I chose Wessel's Florist to do the flowers for my wedding and I have pretty mixed feelings about them. Overall, I would not recommend them to other brides.

Everything up to the actual wedding day was fantastic. Jody met with me numerous times to finalize my vision and my goals for the flowers at my wedding. However, the day of...the reception decor was NOT what I had ordered or discussed with them at all. They didn't match any of the other decorations. The flowers were the wrong color, and they had used moss as a filler even though I specifically asked for no moss. Needless to say, I was upset and did not feel as though I got my money's worth.

I gave them a good rating for responsiveness because once I complained, a got a call immediately from their corporate office. She explained that they weren't able to get the flowers I ordered...so they scrambled to do the best they could. Personally, I would suggest other brides hire other vendors who plan in advance to DO the best they can and deliver what was promised. I paid for a large, tight arrangement of a specific flower. What I got was a loosely arranged small pile of moss and the wrong flowers.

I know in their contract it states that they can do flower substitutions if need be, but it is my belief that if the final result is going to deviate that far from what was paid for...then they should refund some money. Instead I got a gift card to their flower shop. A nice gesture, but it doesn't do me any good in the long run. I still paid too much money for something I didn't get. Overall, very disappointing.

I am SOOOOOO disappointed with this florist and how they handled the wedding flowers. I had high hopes for the flowers, since Jody really seemed to understand what we wanted and was very helpful during our initial meeting. Plus, we had bouquets delivered for other occasions and they were beautiful. However, leading up to my wedding it was difficult to get in contact with Jody and before we signed the contract, I had to keep sending it back due to errors in the amounts specified, price, or types of flowers. It took us several tries to get the contract correct before signing. The day before my wedding I was set to pickup hair flowers and did so, but when I got them home, I realized that they were wilted and some looked like they were scorched. We called Wessel's back and they said something happened to the cooler and it was actually sending out heat - - but no one had apparently checked my flowers before giving them to us. Also, the hair flowers were HUGE with HUGE stems that would be difficult for placement (not like what I had discussed originally). It gets worse. The day of the wedding, I got a phone call at 9:30 am asking why I was not at the shop to get my bouquets.....we had agreed that all my flowers would be delivered to the venue at 4pm. The woman I spoke with called me back and apologized, confirming that she mixed up my order with another bride's and that my flowers would indeed be delivered by 4pm. But when I got to the venue at 5pm, no flowers were in sight. Multiple people tried to call Wessel's and the contact #s we had for Jody but no one answered. We started to discuss ways to get replacement flowers (maybe from a nearby grocery store..) when they arrived at 5:30 pm. My wedding was scheduled to begin at 6pm. When they did arrive, my bouquet was too huge and heavy to carry and the bridesmaids' bouquets, which I asked to be small (around 6 inches in diameter) were double that size or more. I could not fit my hand around the bouquet to hold it it was so huge and heavy, too. So right before I walked down the aisle, my mother took the bouquet apart, taking out about half of the flowers so I could actually carry it. I was late walking down the aisle because we were waiting on flowers....and the centerpieces were also very sparse for what we paid for and not spectacular at all. I feel like I was ripped off and treated badly and dealing with this debacle added stress to a day that was otherwise stress-free. I hate to give bad reviews, but this was so terrible that I have to say something. I only gave the 1 star b/c the initial service was good.
