Couldn’t have asked for a better officiant!

Reverend John Rivera was absolutely amazing. I was nervous picking an officiant since they conduct the ceremony and I wanted someone who was professional yet could make the ceremony special and personal. Reverend John did all of that. He truly went above and beyond. For such a nerve wrecking day he made the ceremony go so smoothly- people were laughing and crying! He did such an amazing job. If you are looking for an officiant do not hesitate and hire Reverend John you will not be disappointed.

Reverend John was a fantastic officiant for our wedding. We don’t live locally so spent some time on the phone with him and emailed back and forth. He was engaging, quick to respond and has a significant amount of experience performing wedding ceremonies, so we knew we were in good hands. When we spoke to Rev. John, he asked us questions to understand what we wanted from our ceremony and to get to know us better. We created the ceremony from scratch and only incorporated exactly what we wanted. He had us write love stories about one another which he used during our ceremony. So many of our guests raved about how personal and intimate it felt for them. He was humorous and kind and it was an honor working with him. Our ceremony went off without a hitch and we are thrilled with how special he made it for us.

If you’re looking for an officiant who will exceed your expectations and help you craft a very personal ceremony, Reverend John is your best bet!

Reverand John responded to my request almost immediately! He was very accommodating to our needs; we needed him on somewhat short notice and on the beach in Marco Island - no problem! He drafted a nice ceremony and provided us with a written copy afterwards. He is sincere which is important to us. (Mother Nature was not on our side that day!) We are very satisfied and would highly recommend him!

Called quite a few officiants before finally reaching Rev. John. What a nice gentleman he is. He invited me and my fiancé to his home for a consultation. The meeting we had was so nice. We never met such a sincere person in all of our lives.
The wedding was absolutely fantastic, we laughed we cried, there was so many elements to our ceremony. All I can say it was the one thing that went perfectly for our wedding.
I would highly recommend Rev. John to anyone looking for a Wedding Officiant to perform their ceremony

Pastor John was extremely charming,friendly, sincere, and professional. My fiancee was greatly concerned when our church home Pastors were obligated to previous engagements on our wedding day, but from the moment we met Pastor John we were welcomed by his warmth and kindness. Reverend John was the best decision we made when it came to our wedding! We go to a local church but our pastors were unavailable for our date...so we took the plunge on here to see what we could find...We either got super lucky or we are very blessed... because from the time we met, he was outstanding! People are still commenting on how beautiful the day was and what a great (and personalized) wedding he performed! Numerous have said that what he said really touched them...and when appropriate, he was also funny! I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a sentimental, honest, and heartfelt gentleman to perform their wedding. He really came thru on every level...and we fell in love with him! He is the BEST!

Reverend John is absolutely amazing. He is kind, caring, takes the time to get to know you as a couple, and provided great advice to help us along the way. His ceremony was thoughtful and personal and he didn't need any "babysitting" which we really appreciated. He was kind enough to invite us into his home so he could get to know us better and find out what was important to us in a ceremony. We appreciated his time so that we weren't meeting him for the first time on the day of our wedding. It was nice to walk down the aisle and have someone familiar and trustworthy perform your ceremony. The ceremony really sets the scene for the entire evening and we are so glad that we chose Reverend John to marry us - something we will never forget! He has very fair pricing too. Minister John helped make our surprise 40 year vow renewal ceremony on the beach, a magical evening we will remember forever!!! He was very friendly and made you feel comfortable like family. I am so thankful that we chose John Rivera to be the officiant for our wedding. He understood what we were looking for our ceremony and was truly accommodating in every way. He was kind and quick (which is what we were looking for), he was even willing to play along with some quotes we requested from "The Princess Bride" during our ceremony. Reverend John Rivera was amazing! From the moment we called him to inquire about his services he was extremely helpful and informative. From there and each week leading up to the wedding, Reverend John contacted us both by phone and Skype to discuss the details of our wedding and even arrived at the venue two hours before the start of the wedding on our wedding day. The ceremony couldn't have been more perfect and we couldn't have not chosen a better officiant. Reverend John is professional , classy, funny, and full of life. Reverend John was absolutely incredible from start to finish. He was recommended through another minister who married my sister, and he was the first person we met with. My husband and I knew immediately that he was the one we wanted marrying us. We shared a few special moments in Reverend John's home with him, including helping him finish his banana bread! Ha! What a warm, welcoming soul! This was such an important piece to our big day and it was so nice to know I had someone so reliable so that I didn't have to worry about the details - Rev John took care of it all! Our favorite part about Rev John is how genuine he is. He is truly invested in his work and has such a beautiful view of love and marriage. From start to finish he made us feel extremely comfortable, confident and at ease with everything - especially after I walked down the aisle (full of nerves), he spoke beautifully and gave us both enough time to calm down before we had to do any talking etc. Since the wedding, we have received a countless number of compliments on the ceremony and how beautiful it was - everyone cried, laughed and could really feel the love starting with Rev John! Rev. John performed our marriage ceremony this past Saturday, 12/12. We were very happy with the ceremony. Several of our guests commented on how they enjoyed that it was touching, while also light-hearted. Rev. John worked with us to have a ceremony that reflected our love for each other, a memorial to my mother who has passed, and balancing my husband's Catholic beliefs with my being agnostic. It was a beautiful ceremony, and we would definitely recommend him to others.

One of my good friends used John for her wedding and he did a great job so we knew we had to meet with him. He was in our price range which made us happy. He worked with us from the start to finish of ceremony and included everything we wanted and didn't include what we didn't want. My husband and I highly recommend using John as your minister!

We were so happy to find Reverend John - it was like asking someone who knew you growing up to officiate your wedding. This is a guy who LOVES LOVE and it shows. He was so warm and truly cares about you and your story. Our ceremony went so well from start to finish and Rev. John let us make it truly ours. Instead of a poem, Rev. John even read something I wrote with my now husband and wanted to have it far enough in advance to make sure he could get the cadence right - a true professional! And he gave us the exact rundown of how he likes to structure his ceremony, so even though we didn't have a rehearsal, I felt comfortable knowing how everything was going to go. He is sincere, warm and funny - the perfect combination!

The punctuality was my biggest fear considering we were getting married at the beach at 6AM (sunrise). The reverend was there before I was! the ceremony was lovely and the price was the most reasonable out there. Thank you so much for your wonderful service!

John provided such a wonderful experience for us for my daughter's wedding. We were impressed when we met him and he explained everything so professionally. He took a lot of time with my family and I. He was warm, friendly and really took the time to find out just what my daughter and her Fiancee envisioned about their wedding plans. Rev. John married my husband and I on May 31 st 2015. From the time we met him at his home we knew he was the one we'd choose. He's humble and he actually does these ceremonies to unite people who are in love. You can see that he enjoys what he does and through his passion it made me believe that he was our perfect for. Upon contacting Rev. John,was enthusiastic and honored to preform our wedding ceremony. He helpful in planning and organizing our ceremony. Very prompt in getting back to us whether by email or phone. Upon meeting in person at the venue he was warm and friendly to both us and our family and friends. Arrived early and coordinated with the photographer to ensure capturing those special moments. We could not have asked for a better ceremony all of our guest commented on how much they enjoyed it. We were proud and honored to have Rev. John officiate our ceremony.

John helped us make our wedding day even more memorable. He was everything we could have wanted in an officiant . He is excellent with his words and made my wife and me feel very special. John was absolutely wonderful! From the initial appointment with him, to follow up even after the wedding was great. Minister Rivera made our day extra special. Just like most weddings ( I assume) something doesn't go according to plan & for us it was the ceremony not beginning on time due to a few mishaps. However, John assured us it was going to be ok and it was. He delivered and it ended with a bang! Now we look back on those things and can laugh about it, stressing doesn't help brides, you'll be just fine! Thanks a lot John.

There is a reason why Rev. John Rivera is the highest rated Wedding Officiant in the Brooklyn area. He is professional, punctual, courteous, and overall a nice guy.

We first met at his place of business to discuss the preliminaries. On the date of our ceremony, everything occurred exactly as he had described it beforehand. Nothing was left out. Everyone enjoyed the ceremony. In short, it was awesome!

I would definitely recommend Rev. John to anyone who wants to pursue his/her goal of marriage.

John was great! He answered all of our questions and explained everything regarding the ceremony so it would be just the way we wanted it. On our wedding day he greeted all of our guests and his wife Lori was very helpful with situating all of the children in the wedding party. Everyone told us how much they enjoyed the ceremony and asked about the sand ceremony, which my wife and I felt added a nice touch to our special day. Look no further! Mr. Rivera is the perfect gentleman to marry you!! My husband and I decided to come to NYC to elope and planned to marry at the Top of the Rock. After searching online, we found Mr. Rivera's website and were very impressed. We called and spoke with him and knew he was exactly whom we wanted to perform the ceremony. We arrived in NYC late due to an issue with our flight and this then caused us to obtain our marriage license later than expected. We needed to post-pone our ceremony two hours. The next day when we arrived at the Top of the Rock to marry, we were imformed that the visibility was zero perfect. We did not have a back-up plan, however, thanks to the amazing efforts of Mr.Rivera, we traveled to Brooklyn Bridge and had the most magical wedding day ever! He is a very sincere, warm hearted professional, with a great sense of humor and we felt as if we had known him for years! I would also highly recommend his son Joshua for your photography services. He did an amazing job with our pictures! What an incredible team they make! May God bless them and their family!

My wife and I was hopeful of trying to find a suitable person to marry us . We jus happen to find the most wonderful man for the job, Rev John Rivera ! This man was (is) a total gem! He made myself and my now wife feel as if we were the most important people in the world! I was getting remarried and wouldn't be having a big church wedding but I also didn't want a cold, impersonal wedding at City Hall. We decided to exchange views at our wedding recepton venue. I had no clue how to go about finding a wedding officiant but Reverend John had so many wonderful reviews that I decided this was a call I should make. John provided an excellent service for our wedding in Central Park. We are based in the UK and John made time for several skype calls to discuss the service and logistics ahead of the event.

He answered all of our questions and put us at ease with his open and friendly manner.

He was extremely helpful and requested a copy of our permit so that he could ensure our ceremony space was clear prior to the service. He chatted to all of our guests and gave everyone a warm and personal welcome. We had a civil ceremony with a religious ring blessing. He provided a heartfelt service that we were delighted with.

My husband and I can't thank Rev. John enough. We got married on October 4th, 2014 and John really made the reception beautiful. He spoke from the heart and put on a great reception. Rev. John Rivera is so awesome! I had a non-traditional wedding on Halloween. It was in a cemetery and we were all in costume, even Rev. Rivera wore a costume!! The ceremony was absolutely fantastic! John officiated my wedding ceremony and it was not only beautiful but heartfelt and unique to what we wanted as a couple. He has a way of making people feel so comfortable and at ease that is so special.

My wedding ceremony was perfect, but the most amazing thing about John is his professionalism and flexibility. He truly loves what he does and he cares about each couple that he works with. Prior to the wedding, we called for help with vows, advice, had meetings, and on the day of the wedding, he even helped tie chair covers to our chairs since we were short on time.

My husband and I enjoyed working with John Rivera for our wedding. He is extremely friendly, personable, very charismatic and funny. He followed up with us days before our wedding and made sure to arrive on time. He interacted well with our family and friends. Our guests loved him and he kept the ceremony interesting and customized it based on our wants and our romance. A few of my guests inquired about Rev. John and his services, and my sister will be booking him for her wedding next year!!! Rev. Rivera is simply the best officiant we've met. :)

John did a wonderful job not only during our wedding but during the entire wedding process. He made sure that every aspect of his role in the ceremony, from the preparation to the ceremony itself went smoothly, beautifully, and memorably.

Just wonderful. John's email communication was excellent in arranging a hasty wedding ceremony within 24 hours, on a Saturday. While only three family members attended, and the ceremony took place in John's backyard, John's words were inspirational and made it seem like a much bigger wedding. Great attention to detail, with champagne and tasty chocolate cupcakes, made this event truly memorable. Highly recommend John -- he speaks from the heart.

Reverend John Rivera truly cares about what he does. He was so absolutely sweet and offered so much great advice. He took the time to speak with us prior to booking to get to know who we are and what we really wanted out of his services. He also checked in with us days prior to the wedding to see how we were doing, and even made time to help guide us through our rehearsal. He is very thorough and honest and extremely flexible in helping his couples with whatever they need to make their wedding day perfect. I love that he and his wife are a team. The passion with which he speaks about her is the same passion he brings to his wedding sermon. We were very happy with his services and highly recommend him.

After interviewing many different Officiants we came The wedding Minister of Brooklyn. I can honestly say that i am 1000% satisfied with who we chose to go with. From the moment we sat down for the consultation to after we said our I DOs, They made us feel comfortable and at ease with the process. My husband and I come from different religious backgrounds and John came up with a great way to incorporate both religions without making one out shine the other. It was something that both sides of the family appreciated. During our consultation they went over what the entire ceremony would be like and gave us examples of things that he might say and asked our opinion on it to ensure we were having the Ceremony that we envisioned for ourselves. My guest loved that he personally greeted with each of them before the ceremony began, they all said that he had a very welcoming personality. Overall my experience was an amazing one and I will be recommending them to anyone I know that is looking for an officiant.

Where do I begin. We came to NYC from MN to get married on the Brooklyn Bridge. This was our first time in the Big Apple. From the very first convo, John was so helpful and down to earth. We figured everything out and he stayed in contact with me up until the very day we got married. His son did our photography which turned out AMAZING! His wife came to help out with everything and she was the sweetest most helpful woman ever! They were all so funny and made us feel so comfortable, like we'd known them for years. As nervous as we were, they took the edge off big time! They are true New Yorkers and made our trip to the city and our wedding day something we will never forget. Ever. I can't say enough good things about them. John made sure he knew what I wanted to do with the ceremony, which I wasn't too sure, so I let him take the wheel and do whatever he wanted. Turned out perfect beyond words. We are blessed to have found such an awesome family to marry us and I hope to stay in contact for years to come!

Rev. Rivera gave a beautiful sermon for our wedding and was beyond helpful during the planning process! We had everyone complimenting us after the ceremony because of the beautiful words he used. I would recommend him to anyone.

I wish I could give a rating of more than 5 stars!!!! Words are simply not enough to express how wonderful John (and his amazing wife Lori) are! Our wedding ceremony is something that we will remember for the rest of our lives. It was my favorite part of the entire day! We laughed, we cried- it was a beautiful celebration of the love we have for each other. While we received compliments from our guests about things such as the food and music at the reception, the compliments that meant the most to us were the ones about John and our wedding ceremony. Our guests said that it was unlike any other wedding ceremony they had ever been to! They couldn't stop commenting about how lighthearted and personal the ceremony was and they loved that there was a touch of humor involved.

Without a doubt, John is one of the nicest, most genuine people you will ever meet. He is so passionate about what he does! He put so much time and effort into creating a personalized ceremony that was perfect for my husband and I. John will take the time to get to know you and create a ceremony that is truly yours! We cannot thank John enough for the beautiful words that he spoke at our ceremony and for providing us with memories that will last a lifetime <3

John is the greatest!!! The wedding ceremony is the most important part of the day and if you want the BEST wedding officiant, John is your man!

Reverend John and his beautiful wife are the absolute A-team. I had the BEST wedding experience with them! Reverend John is a very kind, caring and personable man who takes the time to tailor your service according to your needs. My husband and I were married at his home on his gorgeous deck underneath a canopy of stars which felt like nothing short of a fairy tale. His wonderful wife was so welcoming and hospitable, she made us feel like royalty. Together they make a perfect couple and an incredible team. I am so blessed and happy to have had this fantastic team help us for our big day. It is one moment I will treasure forever!

I want to start off with saying THANK YOU to John Rivera. He created a set of vows for us to repeat after him. The words he used touched our hearts and the hearts of our guest. I couldn't stop crying (tears of happiness)... He actually married my cousin last summer and we knew right then that we wanted him to marry us. Now my sister will be using his services next year. We are extremely pleased with how our ceremony turned out.
