Paul was the absolute perfect fit for our elopement, truly one of a kind. From the very start, he impressed us with his care and professionalism. He took the time to do a pre-ceremony interview with us, and we absolutely loved the questions he asked and the attention to detail he brought to learning our story. It was clear he genuinely wanted to capture who we are as a couple and create something deeply personal and meaningful.
We had traveled over 1,600 miles for what we hoped would be the elopement of our dreams, and Paul made it everything we could have hoped for and more. He reminded me so much of my own dad... calm, kind, and genuine. He brought such a heartfelt presence to our ceremony. His delivery was sincere, beautifully paced, and full of warmth. You can tell he truly loves what he does and cares deeply about the couples he marries.
Paul is phenomenal to work with and made us feel completely at ease during one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. We truly couldn’t imagine our day without him. He deserves every bit of praise, if you’re lucky enough to have Paul as your officiant, you’ll understand exactly what I mean. -

He chose a beautiful location and coordinated seamlessly with our photographer and vendors so we could simply be present and enjoy the moment. If you are even thinking about eloping in the Redwoods, stop what you’re doing and hire Paul.
We eloped in the redwood forest, and from day one Paul was incredible. He sent us multiple location options to choose from, was so thoughtful and organized, and made the entire process feel easy and exciting. Especially since we found him only about two weeks before our flight out. We were so lucky he was available.
Paul is genuinely the friendliest, warmest person we have ever encountered. What he wrote for our ceremony was so unique and beautifully woven with the magic of the Redwoods. It felt personal, intentional, and completely us. He was patient, calm, and made the entire day feel magical even with the possibility of rain.
We weren’t originally sure if we were going to legally get married in the forest or do the courthouse first and just exchange vows in the Redwoods. My father-in-law insisted we had to get married in the forest and even offered to pay for it. Thank goodness he did, because Paul made it unforgettable.
After the ceremony, we genuinely wanted to hang out with him. You hire Paul as your officiant, but you leave feeling like you’ve made a friend.
If you are lucky enough to have him marry you, don’t hesitate. It will be one of the best decisions you make. -

We are so happy that we chose Weddings In The Wild to help us plan our elopement! We live on the East Coast and it was our dream to be married in the California Redwoods — no fuss, no guests, just something special for the two of us. Couldn’t have found a better Officiant
My partner and I decided to elope and planned everything very short notice. We were extremely lucky that Paul had an opening. Not only did he make us feel comfortable during our pre-meeting but during our ceremony as well. Paul is lighthearted, joyful, and most importantly grounded. Paul was extremely responsive, knowledgeable & flexible for our big day. We came from outside of state & he provided all the info to acquire the proper licenses (including easy to follow links!) He was very familiar with the area, so when we described our vision for a location, he knew right where to send us to scout the spot & approve it ahead of time. He spoke to us prior to the ceremony (on a call, as we were the entire country away) and really listened, which was reflected in our customized vows which made the day even more special! -

From the very first inquiry with Paul, he was quick to respond, super friendly, engaging, as well as attentive to our wishes for our big day. Every chat with him left me feeling very secure in how the ceremony would be delivered and I felt confident that he understood us as individuals and as a couple coming together. I loved that he wanted to get to know us so that his speech could be tailored to us specifically and he even laminated it so that we could keep a copy of it!
Paul was so flexible in the days leading up to our wedding due to storm damage in the national parks and shenanigans with the permits. We unfortunately led him on what felt like a wild goose chase the day before our ceremony and he navigated it all with grace, patience and humor.
He is very down to earth, very respectful to all humans and so easy to work with.
We are so appreciative of Paul and would highly highly recommend him! -

Once we met with Paul over FaceTime, we knew he was the officiant for us. Paul arranged the perfect short (but very sweet!) nature-oriented ceremony, just like we wanted! Seriously Paul was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about him. We were a little nervous using an officiant from across the country but he blew us away. Paul was our officiant for our elopement out in the redwoods. We had purchased his concierge package which gave us access to so many helpful links through his website. If we had any questions about the licensing, permits, other possible vendors, etc. it was all answered through the links in the concierge package. Paul was also available to us through email if there were any questions that we had. It helped make our planning a lot less stressful!
We are big nature lovers, and after a meeting through Zoom, he had wrote us the most beautiful ceremony! It was truly perfect, I am still so amazed. We wanted a traditional vow ceremony but we also wanted to include a Celtic hand-fasting as well. Paul was able to include that for us no problem! There was never any judgment at all. He listened to all of our wants and totally exceeded our expectations! He truly made our elopement a perfect day and we are so happy that we chose Paul as our officiant! -

Paul is the absolute sweetest, it was such a pleasure having him officiate our elopement ceremony. We are from Southern California and wanted to get married amongst the towering redwoods of Humboldt County. Even though we had never been to the area, Paul made it easy on us. He collaborated with our planner and photographer to pick a location so all we had to do was show up! We also didn’t want a first look, so he made sure that happened as well. He made us feel comfortable and at ease, and I love how he incorporated the landscape and surrounding nature into our ceremony. Afterwards, Paul took care of all of the filing and paperwork. When getting our marriage license from the courthouse, they asked who our officiant was and when we told them Paul Marsh, they said “oh great, he always does it right!” Overall, he is the absolute kindest human and we highly recommend! -

Paul is an amazing human being. He takes time to learn about the couple so he can personalize the ceremony and make it the most special. He is so wise and writes a great ceremony! We did a destination wedding and he loaded us up with all the information we needed about California and explained all the legal mumbo jumbo. He's a joy to be around and makes something potentially stressful so happy and fun. He also is just there to help if you need him. Paul was the absolute best! My husband and I are from Texas and we planned a wedding in the Redwoods in California so it was a bit tricky but with Paul’s help we found a coordinator and a photographer! My husband and I are from Memphis, TN, and decided to elope in the Redwood Forest in Orick, CA. It couldn’t have been more magical! We flew in to San Francisco and drove north about 4 hours or so to stay in Trinidad. Our day and ceremony was nothing short of perfect for us. We drove into Eureka from our Airbnb the morning of our wedding to get our license. So easy! With the help of Paul and our photographer, everything went so smoothly and gave us memories to last a lifetime. We even visited some of the places that Paul suggested for us, which were truly great suggestions.
We were a bit nervous planning all of this from so far away and for an area we knew nothing about, but we were completely taken care of and prepared for our big day thanks to Paul! His words will be a part of our marriage for all time, and they brought our ideas and reasons for eloping among the redwoods to life!

We did a handfasting ceremony in a beautiful grove of redwoods in May with Paul. It was absolutely wonderful. Paul is easy going and fun yet responsable and professional. We had a zoom meeting with Paul about a month before hand, and then he sent us the ceremony draft. He is an amazing writer and captured the spirit of our love so well. On the day of the ceremony, there were some unexpected complications, but he rolled with them beautifully making the moment even more special for everyone involved. Wonderful Experience!!
Paul was absolutely wonderful! From start to finish he was professional, fun and flexible! From our few talks on the phone you could really tell he gathered the essence of our relationship. His speeches for the ceremony tied in beautiful with the Redwood trees surrounding us. Before hand he had sent us some options to go and back forth on with what was ideal for what we were looking for (you couldn’t go wrong with any of them) and even printed us a copy of it! Friendly. Helpful & Professional
My husband and I got engaged in November of 2020 and we were pretty anxious to tie the knot the following year in May on our anniversary. Planning a wedding with only a few months until the May deadline, along with the added stress of the these uncertain times felt like it was going to be quite a challenge. Fortunately, Paul made the entire process stress-free! The process went very smoothly despite living on the opposite end of the country. Paul made a nice impression on us with our first phone call, he was so friendly, it felt like we were talking to someone we had known for years. He was very helpful throughout the whole process, always made himself available to answer questions and he guided us on the things we would have to do to get our marriage license. A few emails, phone calls & a Zoom meeting later, everything was all set. It was just so easy and stress-free! Paul went above and beyond our expectations to ensure our big day was exactly what we wanted. Paul even offered to take a few photos for us, as we had opted to not have any guests or photographer. To top it all off, we were treated to some great history lessons by Paul as we hiked to and from our spot in the redwoods! We are so glad to have picked Paul to be a part of our special day. -

Unique and Beautiful
Like many couples in 2020, my fiancé and I had to cancel our initial wedding plans. Our Colorado ceremony of 150 guests was suddenly impossible, so we had to have some difficult conversations about what to do next. We decided to elope, just the two of us, to the redwoods. We found Paul online and it was a wonderful experience working with him from our first meeting. He helped us feel comfortable during an uncertain time. He had all the answers we needed, including tricky Covid-19 rules and the best place for out-of-staters to get a marriage license. Our ceremony was beautiful; he really captured us as a couple and incorporated the redwoods in such a unique way. We will always be grateful to him for making our day as special as possible. -

Paul is a very organized and thoughtful officiant who made the entire process from start to finish feel easy and fun. He took the time to get to know us and write a very genuine and meaningful ceremony that struck all the right cords.
He helped organize and plan the sequence of events and walked us through how the ceremony would unfold. He was very flexible and accommodating throughout the whole process, especially since we were planning this in the middle of a pandemic and from across the country.
His considerate and attentive attitude really helped ease any stress we had leading into the big day. His presence is calming and you can't help but smile when he is around! Couldn't have asked for a better person to marry us!
Paul was just amazing. Not only was he a perfect guide during the whole planning of the wedding but on the day he was an absolute hero! Our day almost went array when a huge power cut happened across California. Paul not only called the court house in advance to make sure we could still get our certificate but also kept us updated on what was happening and what to do. As we were alone in the US for our wedding this was so invaluable - we really could not have done it without him. The day went perfectly, Paul's words were beautiful and we feel so lucky to have had him as part of our wedding. -

I'm from Canada and my husband is American. We had the dilemma of where and who to invite to our wedding. The Redwoods were on my husband's bucket list and as soon as he suggested this it sounded perfectly unique. As well an elopement made the most sense as we are in Wyoming and our friends and family were spread across both countries. I did a search and quickly found Paul online and I knew we had found the perfect person to marry us. I was sold after reviewing his website and many glowing reviews. Paul responded to my inquiry very quickly and from there I felt a great relief that things would work out well. We drove from Wyoming, incorporating a road trip and weddingmoon that was perfect for us. We finalized our wedding date a bit late so he was booked on the dates we wanted but Paul accommodated us. We did as he suggested and drove down the Avenue of the Giants in our chosen locale, Humboldt State Park and found our perfect spot in a gorgeous old grove. The ceremony was relaxed and natural feeling and Paul's passion for what he does certainly shined through. It was great Paul had provided sample vows and suggestions for writing our own. Paul delivered a very special service and we added some personal vows. He is a great human being and I am so pleased we were able to marry in such a beautifully unique place with the perfect Officiant. -

Paul was an absolutely incredible officiant and made our wedding better than we could’ve dreamed of. We traveled across the country for our private ceremony and knew he was the perfect person to officiate after just one phone call. He personalized our ceremony to encapsulate our love exactly how we want it to be shown, and was so easy to work with even hundreds of miles away. We are especially cautious in finding LGBTQ+ friendly vendors, and Paul was nothing short of incredible. Excellent friend and resource!
Paul was nothing short of INCREDIBLE! He helped us through the full journey of becoming husband and wife. He was super easy to get a hold of and was also there when we needed him (even when you have a mental breakdown the day before your wedding) We are from out of the state and having Paul guide us with his knowledge of the Redwoods and neighboring areas was something we could never put a price tag on. We are so thankful to have crossed paths with him and will never forget our time shared in the redwoods! Thank you so much Paul!!

Great experience!
Paul was great in helping us to realize our dream of getting married in the redwood forest. He was extremely helpful, always responsive (often within 10 minutes of sending him an email), and very professional. He charged a fair price and is a really nice person as well. Paul was absolutely amazing! We came from Ohio to Crescent City, CA. He helped us with the marriage license, our vows, the ceremony order, and picking the perfect ceremony spot! He was so much more than an officiant! The ceremony went perfectly and Paul allowed us to have an unconventional wedding right in the middle of beautiful redwood trees. Paul Marsh was a huge piece in our wedding planning chess game and the end game was easy with his help. He had every answer to every question including questions about cleaning my wedding dress. Paul is such a nice person. The thought of having a stranger lead one of the most intimate and personal days of your life can make you nervous... but Paul was very personable, friendly, and kind so he immediately put us at ease.
After our Video chat session with Paul, we instantly felt like he was a friend. The day of, his energy was so positive and supportive. His calm and kind demeanor helped us relax and really be in the moment.
He drafted and tailored our ceremony with our input, wrote beautiful words about nature and the Redwoods that symbolized our relationship, and brought a nice table for the Sand ceremony we had with our families. He also sent in our marriage license, and got the signatures of our witnesses, promptly.
Paul helped me so much in letting that nervous energy go and helped me come back into the moment. We had our ceremony in the Redwoods and it was so beautiful. It went exactly as we wanted it. Non-denominational, genuine, and focused on how much we matter to each other. It was a perfect day and we feel so incredibly grateful to have had Paul as our officiant.
If you're lucky enough to have him available on your wedding day, definitely book him as I imagine his calendar fills up quickly.

Paul was willing to travel out of Humboldt County to Marin County for our wedding and we are so glad. His zest for life and positivity are infectious and he was able to write a personal and touching ceremony for us. The ceremony is so important to the day and working with Paul was a breeze. He was receptive to several rounds of edits (because I would change my mind or want additions) and really embedded our unique relationship and personalities into the ceremony while speaking so poignantly about the beautiful redwoods and our connection to nature. Weddings can be so stressful but having Paul there helped calm my nerves immensely and everything ran so smoothly. He is one of the warmest people and I am so glad he was our officiant. Dream vow renewal amongst the redwoods.
Made our 15 year vow renewal a dream come true. Blended right into our group like a long lost friend. His relaxed and welcoming nature makes everyone feel at ease. From the first email to the last hug he now has become part of our story. Helped us find the dream photographer. Our ceremony melted my husband and my own words together with splashes of his own. We changed locations at the last minute to a secluded trail beneath the amazing redwoods and he didn’t skip a beat. I can’t possible convey how important the person you choose to lead your very special occasion is but I will say please look no further.
