We can’t say enough good things about Mylene. She delivered a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony that perfectly captured the feeling we wanted — warm, inclusive, and personal. The way she blended Spanish and English so naturally made every guest feel seen and included, and we received so many compliments on how touching and meaningful the ceremony was.
She was also incredibly helpful leading up to the wedding, walking us through everything step by step so we felt calm and confident on the day. She made sure everything was in place, and her presence brought such a calming energy to the whole experience. We’re so grateful to have had her be part of such an important moment in our lives. Highly, highly recommend! -

Mylene is the best ! From start to end , she made sure our day was just like we dreamed of . Mylene walked us through the entire process , making sure we knew every detail that we needed for our wedding . She also gave us many ideas to refer to. Our phone video call prior to our big day was very detail oriented, and calming . She arrived early and gave us plenty of direction , making sure we felt ready . Her calm and soothing voice made our ceremony feel like a fairy tale . We highly recommend Mylene ❤️ -

We had the pleasure of having Mylene as our officiant for our wedding at a beautiful lake house in Wauconda. She came to the venue and made the entire experience incredibly smooth and special. Mylene was not only professional, but also warm and approachable. She took the time to answer all of our questions and helped us feel completely at ease leading up to the ceremony. The ceremony she put together was heartfelt, thoughtful, and truly captured our love story. Mylene was professional and experienced!
We were looking for a bi lingual officiant who could do this in Spanish and English. By the reviews alone Mylene seemed to check off everything we were looking for our wedding. I’ve never been married and didn’t know exactly what to expect. Until you hire her do realize what actually goes into a vow exchange . I thought it was a simple few words anyone could probably do it right ? No. Lol. However, immediately Mylene gets to know you, and gets to know the couple that you are. Mylene is kind, caring and careful to make sure she gets every aspect of who you are as a couple and translates that in the most beautiful ceremony. What initially seems like a very overwhelming process. She makes it very simple and helps you every single part of the way, truly customizing the ceremony to the personality of your union. She is very educated and aware of the different traditions within different cultures and embraces any practices you may want to incorporate in your ceremony. I am completely impressed, grateful and thankful that she handled us with so much care, and checked in with us every step of the way. Mylene makes this fool proof. I can’t recommend her enough! Please do yourself the favor and go with Mylene. She is caring, experienced and so easy to work with. -

From our first consultation call to the wedding day, Mylene was there every step of the way. She is genuine, supportive, kind and even drove from Libertyville to Joliet to attend our wedding! I would recommended her to anyone looking for a warm officiant who lets you choose how and what you want your ceremony to be like :) she also took cute pictures at the end and sent those to us after! -

We were so happy that Mylene officiated our wedding! She was incredibly helpful, thoughtful and patient throughout the process. She provided us with so many options for each section of the ceremony script and gave us advice on how to incorporate the wedding traditions that we included. Our ceremony was the perfect length and was primarily non-religious and in English but incorporated a Catholic prayer, an Islamic blessing, and some sections in Spanish. We would definitely recommend her!! -

We hired Mylene to officiate our wedding in both English and Spanish and she did an amazing job. She is extremely responsive. Anytime we had questions she responded very quickly. Mylene is very organized and provides you with many options and she works with you closely yo make sure the ceremony is the way you want it. She arrived early to our ceremony and she filed our marriage license right away, I didn’t have to do anything. I highly recommend Mylene because she is so easy to work with and our ceremony was perfect and the perfect amount of time! -

Reverend Mylene Moraes was a pleasure to work with! As an intercultural couple (Jewish and Mexican), we wanted to find an officiant who would be able to consider our diverse cultural traditions and secular beliefs. Reverend Moraes was dedicated to working with our Rabbi to create a wonderful ceremony program. She met with us and the Rabbi several times to ensure our ceremony was perfect. We loved her secular and modern interpretations of Mexican Catholic traditions such as las arras and el lazo and the beautiful text she shared in English and Spanish throughout the ceremony. Reverend Moraes ensured that both our Jewish and Mexican traditions were perfectly balanced. Incredibly impressed with her services and we highly recommend Reverend Mylene! -

When my now husband and I got engaged, one of our first conversation was around how we could best incorporate both his American and my Brazilian culture into the ceremony. That is where Mylene came into the mix! She was exactly what were looking for in being able to speak both languages but we also worked together to customize the ceremony to our liking. Mylene was always available to answer questions, she provided templated for us to review that best suited our vision for the wedding, and was just an absolutely pleasure to work with! We had a perfect wedding and a perfect ceremony!

Attentive and Responsive!
We loved our experience with Mylene! She was very responsive from day 1. Mylene made very helpful suggestions for us and we incorporated her ideas (things I wouldn't have known about). When we discovered our marriage license had a mistake Mylene reached out to the County immediately on our behalf. Very impressive! Mylene was a class act the day of our wedding. We highly recommend!! -

Excellent experience with our officiant
Mylene was always responsive and attentive to our requests. It was important for us to have a bilingual ceremony that catered to all. We had only Spanish speaking guests, only English speaking guests, and both Spanish and English speaking guests. That was not a problem to Mylene. She was flexible and filled with ideas. Her experience and professionalism shined at all times. -

We found Mylene when searching for a bilingual (English / Spanish) officiant and could not be happier with our choice. She worked with us to provide ceremony script examples and then we were able to customize our final ceremony script as much as we wanted via phone calls and emails with Mylene. She really helped guide us through which portions to do in English, Spanish, and in both languages. She was extremely communicative and professional during the entire process and very flexible as we changed plans multiple times due to the pandemic. -

Mylene was our officiant for our wedding 10/17/20. Endless emails, text and calls to her, she always answered within the hour. She assured me that everything was “all good, no worries” as we reviewed the ceremony (email) various times to assure everything was the way we wanted. The day of the wedding she was prompt and patient as we were still awaiting guests. Her energy and professionalism were felt and seen that day. Our vows and add on ceremonies were well spoken and she was so patient when airplanes would fly by, as ceremony was a few blocks away from Midway airport. The best part is she did the ceremony in Spanish as our families all speak Spanish. I couldn’t have chosen anyone better for our day and we are so glad that it was her! She is great! Thank you Mylene for everything! A day we will not forget! I will 100% recommend you no doubts about that. -

It is with immense pleasure that I write this review for Weddings by Mylene. I couldn’t have asked for a better officiant. Mylene was so helpful from the planning stages until after the wedding. During the planning stages Mylene helped me and my then-fiancé by providing multiple templates we could pick from, we were able to combine different samples until we came up with one that was perfect for us. Mylene is super responsive and during the Marriage License process, she was a life-saver because my fiancé and I did not realize we need a document to be filled out by her, and even though it was our mistake, she sent it in minutes to the court to get the situation resolved. Mylene was prepared with everything we sent to her during the day of the wedding and showed up early to give a final check before the wedding started. Being an anxious person by nature, having an officiant like Mylene put me at ease as she provided me with a lot of information ahead of time and was always so responsive when we had any questions or concerns. I also really wanted someone that would translate a few parts of my ceremony to Portuguese, and Mylene speaks both languages fluently. The second language was helpful to make my family in Brazil feel like they were a part of the wedding, even though they could not attend due to COVID and were watching via live stream. Everyone loved the ceremony and thought that it was very personalized and emotional. I am so thankful we chose Mylene to be our officiant during our wedding day, she really fulfilled our expectations! -

Mylene did such an amazing job at customizing our wedding ceremony for our big day! My husband's family is made up of many native spanish speakers, so Mylene gave us the wonderful idea to surprise our families with me (the bride) reciting my vows in spanish and my husband reciting his vows in english. The moment I started to speak, it brought our family to tears. Whenever we had a question about the process, script, or rescheduling (cause of course that happened several times during COVID), she was always quick to respond - usually within the hour! I couldn't recommend Mylene enough to any couples that are looking for a bilingual wedding ceremony. -

Mylene went ABOVE and beyond for our big day. Not only did she switch prior travel arrangements in order to work with myself and my now wife, but she did our wedding during a pandemic! I am so grateful for her accommodation with our wedding ceremony. We had a bilingual service and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was nice, endearing and paced well. We didn't feel rushed in any way. We made several changes throughout our time together preparing the ceremony, including some last minute changes and Mylene was more than accommodating and provided feedback to make the ceremony flow harmoniously. I would recommend her anytime and even re-book her for our vow renewals.
