My wedding day was a mess because our venue flooded out. We were running super behind on our time schedule, but Bill was patient and understanding. I would highly recommend Bill. Best Decision Ever!
Mr. Gillespie is amazing! He is punctual, knowledgeable, so down to earth. I especially love that he has a strong voice (because my DJ forgot his lapel mic). He's very flexible with dates and times for both weddings and rehearsals. I also loved the way he customized our wedding to include a breaking of the glass and to make them personable and specific to our personalities.

Bill did a wonderful job officiating our wedding. We couldn’t have asked for any better! He was great about communicating through email and phone calls and coordinating everything from 1000 miles away. He gave great advice but still allowed us to make the ceremony our own. We loved how he incorporated our special story into the service. And, he even rolled with it when our ring bearer lost the ring on the beach! (It was found about an hour after the ceremony!) Bill helped to make our day run as smoothly as possible while keeping it personal and special for us. We highly recommend him!

Easy to work with! Helped so much with the ceremony and made it perfect. You never want to feel uncomfortable with the most important part of your day and the reason for the day and he made it comfortable. Bill was amazing! He was very personal and made stood he understood all our needs and our wants during our ceremony. Dr Bill Gillespie was an amazing officiant for our wedding ceremony. Our venue recommended him highly and we could not be happier with his services. We contacted Bill on relatively short notice and found him to be very warm and genuine, understanding, accommodating, and helpful. We described our general thoughts on the ceremony but did not have many concrete ideas. Bill was expert in guiding us through the process, making valuable and insightful suggestions that all ended up perfectly fitting what we wanted for the day. He provided multiple readings for us to choose from and spoke about why he thought each might be significant for us. At the rehearsal he took the lead in directing all the wedding party with our permission and coordinated perfectly with the venue staff to ensure that everyone knew exactly what would be happening and where they needed to be and when. His extensive experience was apparent, and he did all of this with a calm quiet leadership style that put everyone at ease. On the day of our wedding Bill delivered an amazing service. He spoke clearly and warmly with a very personal style, and effortlessly balanced reverence and formality with a cheerful and celebratory tone. Bill was comfortable with the size and grandeur of the wedding and officiated with a stately and dignified presence.
We cannot thank Bill enough and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant. Our experience was overwhelmingly positive.

He saved my wedding!
I got married on October 24, 2019. I had originally picked a different officiant and honestly had the worst experience. My officiant that I picked did not communicate well and ended up dropping out of my wedding due to "not having the time" 3 DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING! I was in a panic trying to deal with this and other wedding related things. I contacted Mr. Bill and everything was a breeze! He was so nice and polite. He was able to do my wedding with a 3 day notice. He did an amazing job! I am so so so grateful fr Mr. Bill and wish I would have contacted him in the first place! Our experience with Bill as our officiant was wonderful. We corresponded via email back and forth to craft the ceremony. He gave us suggestions for readings based on our preferences and we selected one which was perfect. He was happy to add in anything we liked or omit anything we didn’t from his basic ceremony format. A couple of weeks before the wedding we were making plans to meet for coffee, and he was very accommodating when I had to reschedule. He was very pleasant and easy going at our meeting, which really put us at ease. At the wedding he was punctual and professional. He did a fantastic job with the ceremony.

Bill was awesome! We were able to meet with him before the wedding and ask any questions we needed to. He helped us with our ceremony timeline, and sent us a final script for the ceremony a few weeks before. He is very flexible with what to wear, whether the ceremony was traditional or non-traditional, and the location of the wedding. I highly recommend Bill! He made our wedding experience just that much more wonderful!

Bill did an excellent job ! He sends a sample ceremony template that you can work off of if you wanted to personalize it yourself which I thought was really neat. Perfect In Every Way
Bill was so perfect for us in every way. When we were looking for an officiant, we were looking for someone knowledgable, relaxed, and grounded, and that is exactly what we found in Bill. Bill helped to advise us through our whole planning process and helped us to make our ceremony custom to us. Our family is a mix of catholic and non denominational Christian, and I was concerned to find a way to make our ceremony comfortable for both families, and still make it feel like us. Bill provided so much advice for us and it was so apparent that he was an expert in this area. Our guests told us multiple times that our ceremony was the most personal, romantic, and intimate that they had every experienced. Most of all, I loved that we ended our ceremony feeling like it was truly "us", and Bill is to thank for that. Stop looking for officiants, Bill is perfect and clearly the best choice :)

Wonderful experience

Bill was an excellent officiant. While Bill resides in Florida and we reside in Kentucky, he was very easy to work with via e-mail and phone. Despite having a destination wedding (Jekyll Island, GA), and having never met Bill until shortly before the wedding, he put us at ease. Bill was also very flexible and let us create our own ceremony of sorts, while providing a good outline and good suggestions.
It meant a lot to us for Bill to travel to Georgia (Jekyll Island) for both a rehearsal and wedding.
As for the ceremony, Bill did an excellent job and afterwards, several people remarked at how well Bill did. I would highly recommend Bill!!

He offered an easy to follow timeline for the ceremony that I could plan by which helped me since I had no clue how to make it go smoothly and create the meaningful environment we wanted. Bill was the best! He was professional and very helpful, as my husband and I wrote our own vows. He helped us put everything together and it followed so nicely, and was very personal. We had a great experience, and highly recommend!

My husband and I feel so fortunate to have had Bill officiate our wedding. He made sure every detail was planned, even for our simple ceremony. Things couldn't have gone smoother on the big day.

Bill was wonderful to work with. My husband and I found him extremely efficient and helpful in all aspects of our special day. He made great recommendations for us and we found the process much easier because of this as well as his flexibility. He was so great at our wedding that our friends that attended decided to use him as well!

Bill was very easy to work with, and provided suggested readings when we had no idea where to start. He also took the time to like the reading we selected to his message as well. He was absolutely the right choice for our ceremony.

Bill was a very professional officiant. He worked closely with us to get the vows and readings to reflect our beliefs and personalities. He was punctual, very professional and friendly to us and our guests. He spent some time with my husband before the ceremony to review and prepare for the ceremony. It was a wonderful ceremony and I would recommend him to someone looking for an officiant for their wedding.

We wanted a wedding officiant for a short, non-religious ceremony that involved exchanging goats instead of wedding rings. Bill was stoked about the job. He had a great sense of humor about all of it, and he's very open minded. We had to hire him.
And hiring him was a great decision on our part. He brilliantly balanced providing a lot of organization and structure with giving us control over the final product. I got written sample scripts, guidelines, and marriage license info the day that I hired him. He asked me a ton of questions about our beliefs and preferences for the ceremony. He responded to all my emails within a couple of hours. We never had to reach out to him; he followed up with us periodically throughout the entire wedding planning process. He does loads of weddings throughout the year, but he made us feel like we were his only clients.
Bill is also a professor at Armstrong, and he brings that skill set to officiating weddings. He has a clear speaking voice and knows how to talk to an audience. My dad is very hard of hearing, and it meant so much to me that he was actually able to hear the ceremony. His speech was lovely, without being schmaltzy. He was professional, punctual, and well-dressed.
He obviously loves what he does, and working with him was above and beyond what we expected. I could not recommend him more highly.

Bill Gillespie was our officiant for our 15th Wedding Anniversary/ Vow Renewal at Hilton Head Island, SC. He was such a joy to work with, very professional and fun as well! He made the entire event so easy and even worked around our photography when we had to do some "reshoots"! The vows and prayer reading were beautiful. It was an amazing day! Thanks Bill!

Bill was absolutely perfect for our Savannah wedding from start to finish. When I first contacted him, he was so excited to talk about our wedding details and made sure he had everything just as we wanted it. We worked through a basic "template" and incorporated all the little personal touches we wanted to include. I was so grateful to have Bill there for our rehearsal as he knew exactly how many times to go through the ceremony, where we should stand, what we should do, etc. This was HUGE for a nervous bride :) His help and coordination made our wedding day go seamlessly and I can't express how thankful my groom and I were for that! Bill is honestly more than an officiant, he is more of a ceremony coordinator! I would whole-heartedly recommend Bill--he is fantastic!
