  Beautiful Venue

  Our wedding was a dream come true! The Tamassee DAR is such a beautiful venue. The chapel is gorgeous and the reception hall was perfect. The staff were so helpful throughout the wedding planning process and the day of. From allowing us to visit a couple of times to get ideas to meetings with us for finalization to driving us around on golf carts the day of, they were amazing! We couldn’t have imagined getting married anywhere else. The DAR I will always have a special place in our hearts!

  We couldn't have found a more perfect venue.

  Tamassee DAR School was the perfect location for a wedding for my Granddaughter. The wedding was in October of 2021. There are many optional spaces to accommodate the ceremony, reception and lodging for family. The campus is beautiful and the staff went out of their way to make sure it was a perfect weekend for all involved. They were there to help us every step of the way. The wedding and entire experience could not have been more perfect.

  So Incredibly Pleased

  If you are looking for the perfect place to have your wedding, look no further. Tamassee DAR has everything you need to make the experience a breeze. The location is historical, gorgeous, amazingly priced and convenient. Our whole wedding party stayed at several of their picturesque homes which are being upgraded. What a blessing it was to wake up on the day of the wedding and stroll down the sidewalk right into the quaint chapel. The staff was so incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive. They allowed the nearby reception hall to be set up the day before. This allowed the wedding to to simply getting ready, taking pictures and taking our seats. After the wedding we walked to the reception hall just a few blocks away. The hall was the perfect size for our guests to sit comfortably, enjoy the meal or later dance together. In the same building the downstairs area was used for younger children. This is an incredibly large room full of fun for all the kids and separate from the festivities. For a small fee the DAR provided babysitters and the parents were very pleased with this option. The DAR also gave us the option to save money and clean the venues ourselves or for a reasonable fee they will have their own staff clean everything up for you. The staff really strive to work with you and make your special day a joyful one.
  Extras: within 10 minutes of the campus there is a gas station, restaurant, and the most gorgeous waterfall.

  Perfect historic venue for the perfect wedding weekend

  My daughter was married at the Tamassee DAR school in October of 2021. It was everything we hoped for and more. My family stayed on campus the weekend of the wedding in one of their very clean and nicely decorated cottages. The wedding party stayed in the Illinois cottage ( a huge cottage with a ton of rooms) the night before the wedding and had a little pre-party together before the main event. It was a sweet time for long time friends and family to spend together. The wedding took place on the Starlight Lawn directly behind the Iowa building where we had the reception. The girls got ready in Illinois and the first look pictures were taken on that lawn. The guys got ready in an amazing game room on the lower level of the building where the ceremony and reception were. The service was exceptional and they went out of their way to care for us and make my daughters day (and entire weekend) so special.
