Rev. Anderson was absolutely the right choice for our wedding prep and ceremony. During the lead up to the ceremony he gave us some great exercises that helped to reflect on our relationship and also to keep dating each other. He gave us some ideas for the actual ceremony, but was totally open to building one that incorporated all of our ideas. When it came to wedding day, he was outstanding and lead an absolutely beautiful ceremony. I highly recommend him for your wedding experience.

From our very first meeting with Chaplain David Anderson, we knew we were in good hands. He was so calm, kind, and patient as we navigated the planning process — especially when we had no idea how everything worked. He walked us through each step with grace and made us feel completely at ease.
Talking with him always felt like a breath of fresh air. He brought such a warm, genuine light to every conversation, and he consistently made our relationship feel strong, valued, and supported. He even gave us some thoughtful “homework” that helped strengthen not just our marriage, but our friendship — something we’ll carry with us for years to come.

Could not say enough positive things about Rev David Anderson. His experience and professionalism made our day effortless. He took charge when needed and made the ceremony go off without issue. October 2023 Wedding
I can’t even put into words how grateful we are to have found David to officiate our wedding ceremony in October 2023. He met with us multiple times prior to our rehearsal and wedding day, getting to know us and providing us with great advice and lessons for our marriage. Thanks to his recommendations in the months leading up to our wedding, we now set time aside for a date night, just the two of us, at least once a week - and plan to do so for years to come! He is a wealth of knowledge and a resource we are so thankful to have in our corner moving forward in our marriage. He executed our ceremony so perfectly that many guests not only complimented it, but assumed we have known David for many years. Rev. David Anderson made us feel very at ease with the whole marriage process. Exactly what we were looking for!
Let me start by saying I am Catholic, while my now husband is agnostic. I knew getting married in a church was off the table, but it was still very important to me to still have some sort of religious affiliation in our ceremony/marriage. I was really struggling with how to have a religious ceremony, without going “overboard” and making my husband and his family uncomfortable (for lack of a better word). We found David through a quick search on the Knot. It was clear from the first 3 minutes of the call that he was the person we wanted to officiate our wedding. Both of us were immediately comfortable with his demeanor and the way he made us feel at ease about how the ceremony would go. He made it easy to find middle ground to have the ceremony we both wanted. We did go with the premarital counseling as well, and I would definitely recommend that to anybody and everybody, just to really take the time to learn about each other if nothing else. David talked through a lot of things we knew about each other but had never really learned to handle and I can honestly say that has eased a lot of tensions between us. Reminding us to take breaks from wedding talk and continue to prioritize our relationship was one of his key points, and that definitely helped alleviate a ton of stress and made us check in with how we were both feeling along the way. David was personable, easy to talk to, and consistently adjusted his schedule so that we could have our appointments during times that worked with ours (we live in OR, so we’re 3 hours behind his time zone and are only both available in the evenings). The entire process of working with David was easy, enlightening, and the ceremony went so smoothly thanks to his communication and timeline. I highly recommend David and WeddingChaplain.com to anybody looking for a professional and friendly officiant!

Can't be any more THANKFUL!
When it comes to the definition of excellence and pride in a profession, David is at the head of the pack. Right from the first phone call to potentially hire David to the moment he bound our hearts and hands in marriage, he was so respectful and attentive. His "homework" and pre-wedding counseling really opened our eyes to things many couples, including us, may not be focusing on. The time leading up to our wedding, his homework assignments really opened out eyes and brought us even closer than we were when we walked into his office. When it came to the ceremony, the program he created and the verses he chose were so on the money with what we had hoped to have for our ceremony. We couldn't be any more impressed with how much he truly listened to our words, and the way he incorporated our "homework" into the ceremony. There is truly nothing cookie cutter about David. His personal touch and words to cater to who we are as a couple truly amazed us. To any couples who want to truly get a hand up in their relationship, as amazing as it might already be, and also know and feel like he truly put in the time and effort to get to know who YOU are as a couple while at the alter, David is truly second to none. It's been several weeks since our wedding, and when the subject of the wedding comes up, people still bring up how great David was. They usually mention the fact that it wasn't a "run of the mill" ceremony, because David did so well to make it so personal, keep things moving along, and the consensus of the favorite part is how he kept everyone in the crowd so engaged because he finds a way to bring in a bit of laughter. We can not possibly thank him enough! All I can hope to the couples that may read this is, while shopping around, take a chance and a moment to talk to David and better yet, take a meeting. Officiant: David Anderson 10/10 – Heinz Chapel recommend David as our officiant and he was the perfect one for us! We got to complete a few marriage counseling sessions with David leading up to the day of our wedding and they were great! He gave us wonderful advice that we will continue to use throughout our marriage. During covid he was able to help guide us through some of the rough ups and downs in the wedding planning process as well as in our relationship. We have gotten many compliments on the flow of our ceremony and how it felt. David really knew us as people, which was something we really wanted with our officiant. Dale was absolutely amazing. From the first meetings to the big day he followed through on every detail. Would recommend to anyone, do not SKIMP on this part of the wedding.
Even though we only knew Dale for a year (we started planning early) it seemed like we knew him our whole lives. He really tailored the ceremony to fit us. My husband and I are not religious, but our parents are, so he was able to include a short but sweet religious piece in the ceremony, without it being the focal point. Exactly what we wanted.
Three months later we are still getting compliments on how amazing and fitting the ceremony was.

The best!!
We love David and couldn’t have asked for a better officiant. We are catholic but got married outside of the Catholic Church so we had no idea who to hire. Thankfully I found David on the knot. We had so many compliments on what a good job he did. He’s very personable and was easy to get in touch with. He takes his job very seriously and really wanted to get to know us as a couple.

We worked with Rev. David as the officiant for our 5/8/21 wedding and could not have been happier! First, he and his company were very flexible when we had to move our wedding date due to COVID. In preparation for our wedding, we had several pre-marriage meetings via phone since we were long-distance, and this was a great way to get to know David while also preparing us for the big step we were about to take. He used those meetings to also get to know us as a couple, which translated into a ceremony that felt very personal and matched our style. David was a very solid presence at both the rehearsal and ceremony, which was helpful in calming our own nerves. We certainly recommend David and his company to anyone considering them.

The most memorable moment of our day!
Rev. David Anderson did a phenomenal job officiating our wedding. He created our ceremony in the most perfect way and truly made it the most memorable moment from our wedding. The ceremony was personalized towards us and David made it feel as if he has known us for many years. The ceremony had the perfect balance of all the traditional wedding things you want; mixed with emotions and some humor. Every one of our guests raved about how perfect the ceremony was! We truly enjoyed working with David during the pre-wedding planning and appreciated the time and effort he gave us to make our day as perfect as possible. If we could leave 10 stars, we would!!

Reverend Dale was AMAZING!
Rev. Dale was our officiant on our big day. Simply put, he was amazing. His attention to detail, his genuine care to learn about our relationship and weave it into his sermon & the scrapbook his wife put together all made the day perfect. Trying to plan a wedding during covid came with a lot of challenges. We moved to California and had the added stress of planning from a distance. A month before the wedding I found the Wedding Chaplains. I am so happy that we made that decision because Dale was wonderful! He put together a beautiful ceremony and helped us through the whole process. He suggested we have a wine box ceremony which our guests really liked. Dale was professional and would go out of his way to check in with us to see if we needed anything. If you’re looking for someone detail oriented then Dale is your guy!

A New Beginning
Special days have been hard to come by in 2020. So when I asked Diane to be my bride in April of this year it was a very bright spot in an otherwise dismal socially divided and pandemically stricken world. Our lives were changing in many ways, we joined our households and worked diligently to protect our family, friends and coworkers by staying apart. Our decision to marry on the third anniversary of our meeting, December 20, was a difficult one to make. Our plans were for a wedding in 2021 but we chose not to wait despite the challenge it would create. To bring our loved ones together when all indications were to the contrary. When we contacted Reverend Dr. David Anderson to perform our ceremony, it was with much trepidation and deep concern in many ways. Diane and I wanted to be married, to keep our loved ones safe but to have a memorable experience. Our zoom meetings with David inspired us in many ways, from his counseling on later in life marriages to understanding our relationship, we knew his insight would be a value to us for years to come. He listened to us intently and made our thoughts the centerpiece of the ceremony. David has an easy way about him, and our fears and doubts melted away like the winters snows. The day came and the service was beautiful. David’s words of God’s encouragement and understanding were wrapped in the love we bear for one another. He took time to learn about Diane, her family and her feeling for me. He did the same for me in a gentle and humorous way. All of this came through in the lessons, the scripture and hopes that were evident in our ceremony. His suggestion of the “wine box” was wonderful and it became a family effort to create the box which now contain our written notes to one another, the sermon and a chance for an annual reminder of why we chose to marry. Our family and friends all asked for copies of the sermon, our mothers were particularly struck by the words we shared and the thoughts that were dedicated during the service.
A beautiful day, a wonderful service, a new beginning. Thank you David for all that you gave to a glowing bride and her appreciative groom; peace, reassurance and everlasting hope.

World's Best Officiant
Scott was a blessing to work with through this entire process. He met with us a few times to council us on our upcoming marriage, and answered so many questions around the ceremony schedule and the marriage license process. He was always willing to meet or answer the phone, any time. Nick's cousin is getting married next year, and loved him at our ceremony so much that they are planning to have him officiate their ceremony, as well!! Scott made the ceremony feel so personal - he spoke such kind words toward our relationship, and tailored the entire ceremony to our love, just as we anticipated!! With covid, he was not able to come to rehearsal, but you would never have known. Everything went smoothly, and we couldn't have asked for a better person to share this moment with!! He mailed our license timely, as well.

David was amazing from start to finish! We only met with David once in person due to COVID, all other meetings were via phone call or video chat. David was very professional yet down to earth throughout the entire process. My fiancé and I both agreed that the SYMBIS counseling with David was very beneficial as well! The best Pastor you will find
Rev. David Anderson was phenomenal. We had a family that wanted us to get married in the Catholic Church. My now husband and I really wanted and outdoor wedding. Rev. David made sure the ceremony was perfect. It was religious and fun the perfect balance. He completed understood when we talked to him about the catholic concerns from family. After our ceremony we got SO many compliments about him even the side that wanted the wedding in the Catholic Church. He is wonderful I can not recommend enough!

Absolutely amazing
We were lucky to have Dale officiant our wedding. Dale truly bent over backwards to make our wedding ceremony PERFECT. Dale met with us for hours on end to make sure every detail was spot on. No matter the time of day, I could send him a quick email or text with crazy questions that he was respond to immediately. Perfect Officiant for any couple.
David was the perfect officiant for our wedding. After going through a couple different meetings with different officiants, we landed on David. We knew right away that he was perfect for our personalities. David was prompt with all forms of contact and a true pleasure to work with. We formed a personal relationship with David before our marriage with counseling sessions that deepened our understanding of each other as well as allowing him to get to know us. The Ceremony was completely and perfectly catered to our exact personalities and he was able to incorporate all of the details that were important to us. We had numerous people that came up to us at our reception and told us how the ceremony redefined how they thought about love. When our original wedding plan was derailed due to COVID-19 David stepped up and married us on our original date in March as well as again in front of family and friends on in August. We could not give David a high enough review for his services. Thank you again from a happy bride and groom!

Amazing ceremony
David officiated our wedding 2 weeks ago. My now husband didn’t want something super religious, but I wanted to keep some aspects of it as I grew up catholic. David made us the most perfect ceremony to balance each of our wishes. He met with us twice before our big day, and I feel got to know us as people and as a couple. Exceptional Wedding Experience
David Anderson is a caring, thoughtful minister and he was wonderful pick for my wedding ceremony. We met with him prior to the ceremony and spoke frequently. He was exceptionally generous with his time and wise counsel. We chose Heinz Chapel as our venue for a ceremony of close friends (around 100). Heinz Chapel staff think very highly of David as he officiates there with frequency. Heinz Chapel is a complex, fast venue, so this can be very important to have someone so experienced for this high-level. Additionally at our reception and after the event, there was considerable feedback from our guest at how special the ceremony was and how much they enjoyed David's words. He is a special man and for me was choice that put me at great ease - something any bride-to-be would want.

David made our ceremony so special
When we first met with David, he asked us questions about our childhood, our families, our personalities, and of course, our relationship with each other - how we met, what we like to do together, why we were marrying each other. We felt like he really took the time to get to know us, which ultimately led to an amazing ceremony. During the ceremony, not only did he focus on my husband and I as a couple, but he also talked about us as individuals, and even got all of our family members involved. We did not have a religious ceremony, but my husband's mother is Jewish, and it really meant a lot her for us to break the traditional glass. He executed this for us no problem. We received so many compliments on our ceremony because of David. We are so grateful a friend referred us to him - he truly made the entire ceremony so special.

He made our “best day ever” the best ever!!!
I am SO glad that my now-husband and I chose Dale Lautzenheiser to be our wedding officiant! I cannot sing his praises enough. We live in FL but got married in OH, so planning with many of our vendors was difficult, but not Dale! From our very first conversation, he was interested in learning about us and our families and our wants and needs for the ceremony. Not only is Dale extremely personable, but he is very detail-oriented and thorough; he made sure all bases were covered and kept us updated on everything as the process moved along. We were in communication often as questions came up, and he was quick to respond, share his thoughts, and provide suggestions. The night before the ceremony, he spent a lot of time with us and our families going over everything so we were all comfortable and ready. Reverend Scott was fantastic! We had an initial call with him and knew immediately that we wanted him to officiate our wedding. After we decided to move forward with Scott, we scheduled an in-person meeting where we discussed the outline of the ceremony and different aspects we wanted to include to personalize it. He suggested that we do a wine ceremony which ended up being one of our (and our guests!) favorite parts of the ceremony. We were unsure of how to incorporate a deceased family member into the wedding and Scott had a wonderful presentation of the roses idea which went over with the family extremely well. Our ceremony was beautiful, several people complimented us on it, and I couldn't have been happier with Rev. Scott. He was always willing to chat with us, make changes to the ceremony where we asked him to, came to the rehearsal, and was early for the ceremony. It was a truly wonderful experience.

David was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. When we first met him we were instantly comfortable and felt like we had known him for awhile. We knew on our important day that we wanted to be comfortable. The whole process went smooth because of David experience and professionalism. The ceremony was exactly what we wanted and pictured. He kept the day organized and people knew exactly knew what they were supposed to be doing because of his guidance. All of our guests thought that we had known David for years! We had a perfect day and thank David for helping that happen. I would highly recommend him for anyone that is searching for an officiant.

Perfect Wedding
My partner and I have been together for over 13 years and decided that we wanted to get married for legal reasons. Neither of us wanted a formal wedding. While we were searching for someone to officiate, I made it clear that this was just a formality. We just wanted something short and private. I met with Rev. Lautz and found him to be very friendly and personable. After meeting with Rev. Lautz, he customized a ceremony for us. Soon afterward, he married us in our own home and he not only made the ceremony brief but also made it special and personalized it nicely.
One other thing that I would like to note is that Rev. Lautz was genuinely excited to be a part of making this a special day. Whether yours is a very large formal event or a small simple one, I am confident that he will perform exactly what you are looking for and will help make it a special day for you as well.

Rev. David was an amazing officiant for our 10/20/2018 wedding at Lingrow Farms. He kept the ceremony light and humorous which is exactly what we wanted! He really made an effort to get to know my husband and me, even though we had no prior relationship.
He gave us great advice and continues to reach out even post-wedding which is appreciated, since he played such a big role in our wedding day.

Amazing Experience
Working with WeddingChaplain was a great experience. We had a last minute cancellation with our officiant (30 days before the wedding) and in a bit of a panic called nearly all of the officants I could find on the site. David answered and immediately got the ball rolling.
We had the pleasure of working with Dale as our officiant and he went above and beyond to make our ceremony as special as possible. He answered all the questions we had and was genuinely excited about tailoring a ceremony that we wanted. We can’t say enough good things about Dale, he was sincere, thoughtful, excited, went above and beyond what we expected and was in constant communication (even if we were slightly slow in responding some times).
The ceremony was amazing, again, words don’t do justice to what an awesome job that Dale did. We got compliments all night from guests about how much they enjoyed the ceremony.
Would recommend them to anyone, as they did a superlative job and did it on such short notice.

David was the officiant at our September 1st wedding, and was exactly what we were looking for. His ceremony was personalized, detailed, and a perfect balance of all the parts we wanted. Almost every person there told me how beautiful the ceremony was. People are still talking about it 3 weeks later! David officiated our wedding this past weekend and we cannot thank him enough for being such a huge part of our big day. He customized the ceremony to really capture our relationship and us as a couple. We received countless compliments from our guests throughout the night on how beautiful the ceremony was which meant a lot being that both my husband and I come from Catholic families. We highly recommend David not only based off of our ceremony, but also because he really took the time to get to know us throughout our meetings. David started our day off with one of the nicest, most sincere ceremony’s we have ever been apart of and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to capture two lives coming together to start a new chapter in life.

Reverend David was an absolute joy to work with. He met with us and was very flexible as I do not live in Pittsburgh anymore. We did many conference calls to accommodate this. He made our ceremony extremely special including personal touches throughout. If you want a ceremony that is full of meaning and feels as though it is yourself, your spouse, and Reverend David, he is the perfect man for the job. David was worth 5 stars +! He was able to make our wedding ceremony planning so easy and smooth. He made sure that it fit our styles and personalities perfectly by making sure he really got to know us during our counseling sessions. David was so easy to talk to and made us laugh every time we got together with him. Each session we had both my husband and I took away critical points and they've stuck with us ever since. He made everyone in our wedding party feel comfortable (including ourselves) and it made for a great ceremony! We got married two weeks ago and David was the perfect officiant for our outdoor wedding! We kept our ceremony exactly as we wanted it: short, sweet, personal, and easy for us (my husband gets nervous in front of crowds)! He was so personable and funny throughout the ceremony that it kept the event magical and serious for the occasion but fun at the same time instead of some ceremonies I've been to that almost felt solemn. Many of our guests commented it was one of the best ceremonies they've ever witnessed! I highly recommend David as your wedding officiant! We could not be happier with how our ceremony turned out!

My husband and I would 100% recommend Rev. David to somebody looking for an officiant! He's very friendly, organized, accommodating (will customize and personalize your ceremony, had meetings over the phone since we lived out of state) and has great suggestions from his past experience. We did not get married in a church, but we still wanted to have a religious ceremony. He provided us the perfect "religious lite" ceremony. David did an AMAZING job with our wedding ceremony. He is able to personalize it the way you want it (religious or no religious). He made everything flow smoothly and put everyone at ease during the rehearsal. He was very easy to talk to and to get along with.He is a great marriage counsalor and we both loved the two sessions we had with him. They were not boring sessions. He makes you think about your relationship and gives you ways to handle real life problems and situations that might come up during our marriage. We took all of his advice to heart and will always remember how he helped us. I know if we ever need help in the future that he would not hesitate to do so. Our wedding was a week ago, and I am still getting texts from people proclaiming how awesome Dave was. Many of our guests were very surprised to find out we had found Dave online and did not know him our whole lives. He was professional, timely, caring and very knowledgeable about the wedding process. He gave great recommendations on what would and would not work for our specific group and ceremony, and everything worked wonderfully. Carolyn & I would like to highly recommend Reverend David Anderson to perform your private (or any other type of) wedding ceremony.
Rev. Anderson was easy to contact, very flexible, thoroughly explained his procedures, and offered excellent suggestions.
He was well ahead of schedule for our very private (just us (3) in Carolyn's apartment) ceremony. The sermon was lovely. He catered the content by using the spiritual meanings of our names, as well as ingraining our personal, and somewhat unusual relationship prior, and well as our varied backgrounds.
He was kind enough to forward a copy of that sermon, although with any pictures he took on his own phone to us immediately.
Reverend Anderson, soon to be Doctor Reverend Anderson, is someone you should greatly consider to be your "officiate" at your important, personal ceremony.

David has been great to work with. He almost immediately reached out to me following my first contact with his website, which is surprising, since I hadn't heard from several others that I had reached out to!
He explained that he not only serves as the wedding day officiant, but also schedules 2 meetings with you to go over aspects of marriage through these counseling sessions. He also offers other counseling sessions if you are so inclined.
He walked us through our wedding day timeline, what we would like and not like included, and really helped us to customize our big day! Can't wait for him to be a part of our big day in April!

Pastor Scott did an excellent job officiating our ceremony in Bedford, PA in October. We really appreciated his responsiveness and ability to blend our thoughts with his vast experience to produce a special ceremony. We got to know Scott through a few pre-wedding planning sessions. It was clear early on, that he was officiating weddings for the right reasons. He ask thoughtful questions, sent us templates to consider and was available whenever we had follow-up items. He made the process of getting married outside of a church easy and enjoyable. We'd highly recommend Scott's services!

What a lovely person David was to work with. He offered so much of his time and words of wisdom and guidance leading up to our wedding. I said the same to him and that was how fortunate we were to have great weather on our wedding day, but that we were even more fortunate to have a minister that made our ceremony absolutely perfect! I would recommend this vendor to anyone looking for a wedding chaplain. I have zero complaints, nothing but good things to say about Scott Carney. He was great! He helped us both feel comfortable with everything, ran us through the ceremony step by step. He helped with any questions we had about marriage, and gave us some great advice going forward in our relationship. He's very easy going, and very flexible with any requests you may have. The morning of our wedding I decided to cut the presenting roses to mothers, and also the unity candle, and he was totally cool with it. We didn't want a long ceremony, and he was very attentive to the time frame of the ceremony. I could go on and on about how much we loved his services.
