Dr. Dan was the officiant for our wedding at River House. We had so many people come up to us telling us how impressed they were with our officiant. He was funny, kind and really took the time to get to know both of us before the wedding. He is also very experienced and knows his stuff when it comes to weddings. From our first conversation, he was very straight forward with pricing and explained what all was included with her services and his layout before we paid. Byrd Wedding
We asked for a short simple biblical ceremony on the beach and Dr. Dan delivered exactly what we were hoping for. We were battling a little chilly weather but Dr. Dan has such a warm and loving spirit that we hardly noticed the chill at all. He made the ceremony special and we truly felt like we've know him all our lives. We plan to go back to the Jacksonville area each year on our anniversary and have dinner with Dr. Dan if he is available. He's a great officiant and loves meeting new people and being a part of their special day.

A life long friend
Dan really helped us get into the wedding spirit early on when life was so busy with other things during the planning process. Our phone interview was great and it was then that he was first able to let it sink in for us that we were getting married and how beautiful that really is! We could really tell that he was passionate about officiating our wedding as if he was someone who already knew us for awhile. He was so comfortable to talk to and made suggestions that I originally hadn’t thought of. He stayed in touch and helped make the months before easier as well as the day before our wedding helped ease my mind with how well the rehearsal went especially with the ideas that I had. He made everything flow so nicely and we still have people talking about how beautiful the ceremony was! Make no mistake you would not regret hiring him! The officiant you want and need!
Dr. Dan was everything we wanted and needed in an officiant
! The ceremony was the part of the wedding that my then fiancé and I were most nervous about. Dr. Dan walked us through the process and provided guidance as we selected each portion of the ceremony. He was extremely responsive to text and email throughout our long engagement.
We first met via telephone call consult and later met in person (per our request) to have coffee & chat about final details closer to our wedding date to help ease our nerves.
Dr. Dan was also present for our rehearsal. He was even kind enough to stay for our reception and provide a blessing over the food.
Not only will Dr. Dan be your officiant, but he will help remind you to follow your wants/desires to ensure big day be about you as a couple. I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant!

So Happy with our decision!
At first, we were going to use one of our college friends to do the officiating at the ceremony but then later decided against it and hired Dr. Dan to be our officiant. So happy we! We didn’t know him at all, but met him out for dinner and had a great time! We told him that we were looking for a short and sweet ceremony with a brief prayer and that’s exactly what he did! He helped include my daughters into the ceremony since my other half was taking them on a stepchildren he brought them up and asked them if they accept my other half as their stepdad and help me make it very special to include them. I don't even know where to begin with the amazing things I have to say about this man. Dr. Dan is not only one of the most incredible and interesting humans I have had the pleasure of knowing but we could not have asked for a more perfect officiant for us and our special day. Dr. Dan became part of our family in the short time we got to know him before our wedding. We met remotely but he devoted at lot of time and attention chatting with us via email, video meetings, and text that we felt completely at ease knowing he'd make our ceremony special. He helped us picture how our ceremony would go, recommended unique ideas, and I felt like we even had mini counseling sessions with his kind encouragement and affirmation. Dr. Dan even acted as a ceremony coordinator, guiding the wedding party and vendors though the most important part of the day, led our rehearsal (thankful we didn't try to do that ourselves), asked our religious/non preferences, and knew to hop out of the way for our first kiss photos! He quoted us a more than fair price for his services. Highly recommend Dan as a gregarious, warm, outgoing, funny, engaging speaker and friend to marry you. Dr. Dan was absolutely amazing to work with! He truly got to know us before our ceremony and helped to make it personal and engaging to both us and the audience. Dr. Dan is one of the most passionate, caring, and genuine individuals we have ever met and we couldn't have asked for a better officiant to be a part of our special day. In fact, our ceremony was so beautiful and heartfelt that our other vendors kept asking us if we were related to him. It is apparent that Dr. Dan loves what he does and he is amazing at it. Even days after the wedding, many of our family and friends have mentioned how personable and passionate he was. Dr Dan was amazing! Such a personable guy who was so easy to talk to & easy to work with. He has of way of making you feel like you have known him for years, and was there to answer any of our questions along the way. I basically sent him a bunch of chopped up parts from other ceremony’s that I had found and he blended them together perfectly making for a memorable ceremony that our guests are still talking about! He was even able to roll with the punches when our wine box for our unity ceremony came in with the wrong names & we had to cut that part the night before. So grateful he was a part of our special day :)

While, at the moment, I still dont remember much about the entire day (wedding fog) I do remember his soft tone and kind heart. Dr Dan, was amazing through out the whole planning process!! It took the first phone interview for me to know he was our guy. He is very supportive and helpful, quick to answer any questions we had. Dr. Dan McLean was the officiant for our wedding, but I also feel like he will be a life long friend. Prior to the wedding, we did some pre-marital sessions with Dan. Through that process, I feel like he got to know us and we got to know him, and his depth of experience made him highly qualified to perform those services as well. Since we did not go the traditional church ceremony route with minister, it was really great on our wedding day to have someone we knew on a more personal level to fill this very important role on our special day. Everyone who attended our ceremony was very impressed with the warmth Dr. McLean brought to the occasion, something I picked up on from the very first time I spoke to him on the phone. I cannot recommend Dan highly enough.

My wife and I found Dr. Dan through wedding wire. After five minutes talking to him personally, it was clear we had found our officiant. He joined us for dinner after the rehearsal and fit right in making conversation with everyone in attendance. On the day of, he was viewed no longer as a hired officiant, but as a family friend joining in the special occasion. His ceremony was beautiful, and everyone is still talking about how he included everyone and seemed to speak to each individually. He was professional, while not the least bit stuffy. He was compassionate, caring, but most of all genuine. We couldn't have made a better choice and would recommend him to anyone and everyone from all walks of life. Our special day was that much more memorable thanks to him.

We had the pleasure of having Dr. Dan McLean as our officiant to renew vows for three couples. My wife Janet and I (35 years), our friends Robbie and Sherri (35 years), and my sister Lil and Husband Joe (25 years). In a word, AWESOME! He was an answer to a prayer. He was so thorough in making the most out of the information I gave him concerning the histories of each couple. On the day of the event to renew our vows, the three guys kept the secret to surprise the ladies. Needless to say, the tears were flowing and love was high. His wife Karen was so sweet and so helpful in shooting pictures and video which turned out fantastic. The Lord blessed us with a beautiful day on the beach for the ceremony. Dr. Dan was personable, friendly, and made us all feel as if we made a new friend. If you are looking for an officiant, please don't laugh, but Dan is the MAN!. He genuinely gets 5 stars and made our celebration a memory we will never forget.

"25 years ago I married my husband at the courthouse without our family being able to attend. While my husband asked my dad’s permission to marry me, I missed the opportunity to have my dad walk me down the aisle and give me away. As a gift to ourselves and our family, we decided to renew our vows on this special anniversary. I had everything planned except for choosing the officiant. As soon as I met Dan McLean I knew I had to look no further.
He talked with me for over an hour about my husband and I’s life together, our daughter and grandson, and even our extended family. My dad is not well and may not be with this us much longer so when I expressed how important this vow renewal was to me Dan simply stated, “It’s an honor for me to do this for you”. As I expressed my simple ideas for our renewal, Dan was kind enough to give us some ideas that made our day even more special. By the end of our conversation, Dan knew my vow renewal was in his hands and simply told me “I got this”.
On the day of our vow renewal ceremony I really didn’t know what to expect – I didn’t have a real wedding to compare to. Dan arrived early and spoke briefly with our family. He made everyone feel so comfortable – he was like a family member not a man I met two weeks prior to our ceremony.
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful! We all had tears – thankfully mom had tissues handy for us all. Dan honored, not only us and our life together, but our family during the ceremony. He was correct when he told me “I got this”. Dan is very friendly with a warm and caring soul. There are millions of words in the English language but not enough of them to describe Dan McLean. I truly felt blessed to have met Dan and having him perform our vow renewal made our day even more special!"

We had the perfect private and personal wedding service with Dr. Dan... He came for a casual pre-wedding meeting and took the time to hear our wishes and was able to pick up on what we are about and tailored our wedding day with that in mind...even dressing for the casual atmosphere we wanted .. He has a great sense of humor and put us at ease while maintaining the solemnity of the ceremony. We also appreciated his conscientious inclusion of my 9 year old daughter... He made it clear that we were not only becoming a married couple but a new family. We are so pleased with our decision to hire Dr. Dan as our officiant.... A great start to our marriage. There needs to be more than 5 stars for Dr. McLean. He did a phenomenal job officiating our wedding. We received so many compliments from the guests about how inspiring he was and how his words really meant something to them, even couples who had been married for years. I would certainly recommend him to anyone. We could not have made a better choice

Dr. Dan McLean is by far the best wedding officiant out there. His counseling helped prepare my husband and I for our married life together. I credit him for much of the success we've had in our marriage. When conducting a wedding you can truly see and feel the love he holds in his heart for the couple. Our wedding ceremony was filled with both love and laughter and is still talked about to this day. If your looking for that special person to officiate your wedding then look no further then Dr. Dan McLean.

Dr. McLean was the sweetest most caring officiant I have ever come into contact with. From our first conversation on the phone, to meeting him in person for the first time prior to the wedding, he really takes the time to get to know the bride and groom. If you don't have a wedding planner he will make sure all of your guests are seated and ready for the ceremony, ensure your fellows ( groom and groomsmen) know where and when they are are supposed to be in their places and he will come and get the ladies for their decent down the isle. We had so many compliments on Dr. McLean from our guests, they even asked where I found him so that they may take advantage of his knowledge and presence for their future occasions. Dr. McLean was very engaging with the guests prior to the actual ceremony in telling them that they had a job to do as the bride and grooms guests to witness our special occasion, which I think made them actually pay attention to everything that was said up at the alter. He even provided some readings and vows if you can't come up with anything on your own. If you need an officiant this gentlemen is the one you want. Thank you so much Dr. McLean for making our special day perfect!!!!

Dr. Dan was phenomenal. He communicated very will with us, super thoughtful and professional. He made the experience so special for it being such a small and simple wedding. The Appel's couldn't have asked for a better officiant. We definitely would recommend him to anyone else looking for an officiant.

Dr. Dan turned out to be the perfect officiant to suit our needs. He took the time to meet and get to know us well before the ceremony, and to ascertain our needs. We were able to tailor the ceremony to our needs with his input and it turned out even better than we had hoped. I would recommend Dr Dan without reservation.

I might be biased because Dan McLean is my father, but I've always admired my dad for his natural ability to win over a crowd. When my wife and I were planning our wedding, Dan was an obvious choice to serve as our officiant. But even if he wasn't my dad, I would have been honored to have him lead us in our most special day. He's appropriately humorous, very experienced and gets along with just about anyone. I think the most endearing attribute Dan offers, however, is his obvious passion for seeing two people engage in love for one another. The fact that he has a small part in orchestrating a marriage gives him so much joy.

Dan was awesome! We were a bit unorganized as we were coming in from overseas and only had a day to get everything together. He made sure that the ceremony went smoothly and everyone was in place. Great officiant. We highly recommend him. Thanks Dan!

An amazing officiant for our special day
Dr. Dan has a great personality, an amazing background and experience and was truly destined to be an officiant. We really felt his excitement for us. He was also really flexible through the whole process and just wanted to do what made us happy. He really got to know us and personalize the ceremony. The ceremony truly felt special and we got so many compliments from friends and family about him. There were tears of laughter and joy throughout the day and Dr Dan was a big part of that. Be spoke so well and you feel that passion he has for what he does. He also did a beautiful dinner blessing for us and was a joy to celebrate our special day with. I highly recommend getting together with him a few times before the wedding. He loves to get to know his couples and it makes it so much more personal that way. He does all types of ceremonies both religious and not. We didn’t have many ideas on what we wanted for the ceremony but he recommended some really powerful readings so we couldn’t be happier. Thanks again Dr. Dan!

The best ceremony!
Dr. Dan was truly a joy to work with. He really loves what he does and takes the time to get to know you as a couple as learn your story. He made our 3 daughters feel so special and important and even though we elected to have a short and sweet ceremony, it somehow felt unique and personal. Great officiant. Really made the ceremony beautiful.
Dr. Dan did a pretty great job. Only complaint was that he pulled both the groom and bride aside separately to inquire about a guest because he was interested in her. We felt this was inappropriate as we were there to celebrate with our guests not hook the officiant up. It was awkward and unprofessional. Which was sad because he did a fantastic job with the ceremony.
