User1187969 Sent on 06/05/2013I used AbileneDJ.com (Russ Wristen) for my wedding in October 6, 2012. We could not have been more happy with the value, quality and professionalism. I was given a long list of questions to complete along with a section for me to pick 30 songs I wanted played. All thirty songs were played and at the end of the night, I was given two CD's with these songs on them for me to keep. Also, they were extremely reasonable in price and well worth every penny! -

User1522912 Sent on 01/30/2014We were pleased with the service we received from Russ, he was very helpful in making sure our ceremony music was perfect and the monogrammed light. I would just recommend being very specific, because how else will he know what you and your guests want to hear? I was not specific enough I think, otherwise he would have done great, I was just bummed to hear some of the played out songs like Low by Flo Rida and nothing really newer. My only negativity is that he played our first dance song twice throughout the night, making it a little less special and at the end of the night while we were getting ready to do our private last dance and guest were exiting, he was promoting himself for about 5 minutes which I found a little unprofessional (If someone wants to know what DJ I used they would ask).

Thank you for the kind remarks, our couples do get to pick out about 75% of the music that is played at the wedding, our contract is very specific as to what songs the couple wants played and what songs they do not. We love specificity. We also take requests. Low is not normally a song I just drop in, so I'm sure someone came up and asked me to play it. That being said, true, tell us what music genres you want and we will provide them. As to my promotion at the end of the night, I can honestly say I have never spent 300 seconds, five minutes, talking about myself. Read this back to yourself ten times, that's five minutes. That's nuts. But yes I have mentioned my company name before and I offer out my business cards upon request. -

I seriously cannot imagine who this "private user" could be as we have received nothing but stellar comments from our wedding reception clients. But to be fair, I will provide anyone with ALL of the weddings we have done for at least the previous 12 months. All it takes for you to debunk this annonymous bad rating and to confirm our good professionalism and experience is to call any of the references we will gladly provide to you. User2773108 Sent on 09/19/2016I waited over a year to write this review to see if time would make matters seem less significant... If you want to enjoy your wedding at all, don't hire this dj. The sound system didn't work almost the entire wedding and reception. Processional songs cut in and out. Mic didn't work on announcements or toasts. Staff was/is clueless and unprepared! Could not understand dj even when the mic was working. Owner called the bride at 12:45 am on her wedding night and left a very unprofessional voice-mail talking about his professionalism. Actions speak louder than words.

Looking through the reviews here in 2022, I remember this wedding. I had partnered with a woman DJ that the client requested, (she has since married and left the area). The truth is I ask for payment at the beginning of the event. She did not get paid until the end of the night and then it was only a partial payment from the very inebriated step-father, who said he didn't have any other money and she could "take it or leave it". She called me asking what she should do. She also said she was afraid of the step-father, as he was very abusive toward her. Since my contract was with the bride, I called her. Yes, she had just left about 12:30am and I thought I'd catch her before she got to far down the road. I got voice mail. I left a message, explained the situation about less than partial payment and about the drunk step-father, as described by my friend. She did her job and she expected payment in full as promised. It wasn't until the following week that I received a call from the 'father' who expressed his displeasure at my daring to ask for money for services rendered from his just married daughter. After explaining the situation, he sent me the remaining balance. I'm not sure who wrote this review, but it is not indicative as to the many good personal reviews I can provide for you from our clients since then. In fact, for anyone who asks, I will happily provide over 800 former clients who will tell you that indeed, we do a great job.
