We had a great experience planning our wedding ceremony with Joanne! We met a couple months before the wedding to chat and get to know each other a bit. This was helpful for Joanne to create a story and vows for us. Joanne sent us a draft to review and was completely open to our minor edits.
On the day of the ceremony, Joanne provided us with a beautiful print out of our entire ceremony - complete with our personal vows that each of us sent to her.
Joanne provided a lovely ceremony - exactly the length of time she estimated. Thank you Joanne!

Joanne is the perfect person for a wedding. She doesn't do a 5 minute now say I do. She wants to learn about the couple and writes a beautiful sermon like she has known them forever. Her personality shines.. I would highly recommend her, you will not be disappointed. So grateful for her when our person had canceled on us.. She is awesome!!! -

We were so blessed to have Joanne conduct our wedding ceremony! From the very first contact with Joanne she was personable and my husband and I felt an instant connection. We had a clear vision of what we wanted and she took it all in and made it happen. An easy, stress-free experience
Joanne made our elopement a reality with ease. She was quickly responsive to emails and requests. She took the time to talk to us as a couple so she could make our ceremony customized, and it was beautiful. She came to our requested location prepared and did a fantastic job. Joanne Zito did a great job as the Officiant for our wedding. Although we were from out of town, Joanne made the communication process very easy and contacted me immediately as we were searching for vendors a year ahead of our wedding. Joanne also made our lives easy by sending us a very easy-to-follow questionnaire that enabled us to assist with creating the ceremony along with our vows. Joanne was also very kind to assist with our rehearsal the day before the wedding.
Joanne has a great personality. She is very fun and made us feel very comfortable throughout the planning process and on the day of our wedding. She also did a great job capturing our love and commitment with her comments during the ceremony. Joanne also took care of returning our marriage license, so that we had one less detail to worry about as we left for our Honeymoon. If you want the BEST, ask Joanne Zito to be your Wedding Officiant. Joanne is an 11 on a scale of 1-10. We love you Joanne.

JoAnne is Hands Down who You want!
JoAnne, was very pleasant to work with. She was such a blessing to find and was just what I was looking for; for my wedding.
Her experience and professionalism put me at ease. She was confident in what she was doing. I didnt have to worry about her one bit. She was very flexible and accommodating with our schedule. On the day of the Wedding Joanne was not only on time, but early. Her ceremony speech was perfect. She made it personal to us, and was accepting of a few changes I wanted to make, as she let's you review her speech beforehand. JoAnne was simply amazing. I would recommend her to anyone. -

We are a same sex couple and we were a little nervous; Joanne placed everything at ease from the moment we greeted each other. When reading her biography from her site, we noticed the powerful message she portrayed : " I perform all types of weddings no matter what the race, color, religion or sexual preference of the couple ". Wow! We were impressed and after speaking and meeting with her, Joanne had already place "unity" to us as a couple willing to marry. Having Joanne perform our sand ceremony on the beach at sunrise, was beautiful and magical. During the ceremony, Joanne shared our love for each other and the strong bond we have in our unique relationship. Every moment was precious and we would recommend her to anyone willing to make the commitment to the one you love, no matter what race, color, religion or sexual orientation. We want to thank Minister Joanne for her support and the gift she provided to unite us in marriage. -

She was responsive, reliable, prompt, and most of all complete pleasure to work with. She gave us a printed copy of our ceremony which included our vows. I would highly recommend Joanne. I felt like she really went out of her way to make our ceremony special to us, and most of all you could tell she loved marrying us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Christina Sent on 12/28/2017Joanne is fantastic!! She is extremely personable and caring about your special day. I spoke with a few other people before I talked to Joanne and I felt as if they were all business. But as soon as we started talking I knew she was right person to officiate my wedding. She made everything comfortable and easy. We did a sunrise wedding on the beach and she was just as excited since this was her first one. Anything I spoke to her about, her response was “this is your day”. She is prompt with answering calls, texts and emails. I absolutely recommend Joanne...and she has a great photographer she recommends to people too.

Joanne is very sweet and I loved that she wanted to get to know us before the ceremony in order to make it more personal. After exchanging emails and a couple phone calls, I loved how Joanne was able to come up with a customized wedding script that fit us beautifully. I did end up making a few adjustments but Joanne took it in stride and was adamant that the wedding day was my husband’s and my day, no one elses. She is very thoughtful (she even picked out a gift based on our hobbies! Thank you Joanne!) and has a warm voice that I enjoyed during our ceremony. My only complaint is that Joanne seemed to have forgotten that we were supposed to exchange our own vows during the ceremony, but it all worked out in the end and we ended up being pronounced husband and wife twice! Two for the price of one! Thank you Joanne for officiating for us, even though you weren’t feeling well, we sincerely appreciate it! -

Melissa Sent on 02/15/2025Constant Ceremony Interruptions + Submit License with Wrong Wedding Date
Joanne was very friendly and helpful in conversation, but unfortunately the execution of the actual wedding ceremony and license submittal fell very flat.
In the middle of our ceremony, her iPad randomly rebooted and she did not have a backup hard copy of the ceremony flow, so we had to awkwardly wait for it to come back up before we could continue. A simple hard copy backup or having the ceremony readily available on her phone would have made this a non-issue and taken almost no extra effort.
Additionally, Joanne showed up sick even though when planning with her we specifically made sure she had a backup in case of anything like that. Because of her cold, she paused and coughed a lot throughout the ceremony (which is TOTALLY OK AND UNDERSTANDABLE), but she unprofessionally made light of it every time by giggling at it or trying to laugh it off kindly -- unfortunately in a serious ceremony, this completely reset the mood/tone for us every time due to the giggle/nervous laugh. We were thankful we opted to do vows privately afterward to at least get that serious moment to ourselves and get fully into the emotion.
To top it all off, on our wedding license which she submits as part of her services, Joanne entered the wrong year for our wedding date and we found out a day after the wedding when she sent us a photo copy of it and caught it ourselves. Thankfully she did take the action to contact our county court clerk and sort it out, so it ended up not being a big deal but stressed us out a little at first.
Overall, Joanne was super nice up front and flexible, but execution overall lacked quality and professionalism and killed the ceremony for us and our guests. Of our entire wedding day, the ceremony was the one thing people giving honest feedback brought up negatively. It pains me to leave a bad review, but my new husband and I would have wanted to know if we were in your shoes as an engaged couple browsing for an officiant.Wedding Ceremonies by Joanne's reply:
Dear Melissa - your review is 100% spot on. I know an apology won’t make a difference at this point but I am sincerely sorry for the issues with your ceremony. I am in search of a more reliable back up as mine travels quite a bit which is why she wasn’t available for your wedding. I’ve done a couple of weddings since yours and printed a hard copy to take with me to the ceremony each time. I will never do another wedding without one. You are right that I tried to make light of the of my cold symptoms Humor or nervous laughter is how I deal with things and clearly it was not appropriate for the situation. I will keep that in mind going forward. Rest assured that I am taking your comments very seriously. I wish you and Jacob a very happy future. Joanne
