Kept the party going! Absolute must-hire!

We could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding. From the very first song to the last, the energy was incredible. WedStart DJ / Sean & Scott did an amazing job reading the crowd, mixing the hits with our millennial vibe requests, ensuring the dance floor was packed all night long. Sean was very professional and communicative during the planning process and made it so easy for us! If you want a fun, stress-free reception where everyone is dancing, book them immediately!

Great Wedding 💍 DJ 🎶

I have been to several weddings where Wed Start / Sean DJ'd. He's the go-to for many of the people we know.

He always knocks it out of the park, and brings the right energy to the party.

I can't recommend them enough.

Sean made it easy to get our ceremony and reception details in order to make the day flow easily. My husband’s cousins both used his services prior to our engagement and I had so much fun at their wedding receptions that I asked for his info and didn’t consider any other recommendations friends or family sent my way. He even provided recommendations for photographers, Photo Booth, and his assistant video taped our special day. I felt lucky to have his support. Very responsive. He was receptive to our vision and executed the plan perfectly.

Great DJ service with lots of experience

Sean provided a great bed of music for our ceremony and reception. The process was a piece of cake - a website form that we were walked through in real-time through a video call, to get all of our preferences for different parts of the day. He has a huge checklist of different things that you can pick different music for, and a ton of different things to announce - you didn't even think about telling people how they could win a centerpiece, did you?

Fantastic value and very experienced, pick your own music or give them the vibe you're looking for and they will take care of it from there.

Best DJ ever!

Best DJ ever!!! His DJ style was the perfect match for our guests to keep them having a blast and dancing on the dance floor! We loved how he had a DJ booth/screen with pictures of us playing all night long for our reception! Our guests loved him and we danced the night away! Our ceremony was just as perfect with great timing on each song. Sean was so understanding and helpful throughout the whole process and we will forever suggest Wed Start as a fantastic DJ. If you’re reading this and on the fence about who to hire, stop your search and go with Wed Start!

Amazing!!!!

Sean the dj was so helpful! He made sure everything was flowing smooth! He was so easy to work with. Anything we wanted they played. We had some hiccups and he did what ever he could do to fix it!

Absolutely beyond our expectations!

Sean and Scott truly made our wedding the most special night of our lives. From meetings with Sean, to my many emails and questions, he made every step of planning so simple. Everything was right there in a list, available for us to work on over the course of several months. Sean and Scott were professional but still felt like friends we could reach out to at any time.

Wed Start was in charge of the ceremony music as well as the reception and everything went off without a hitch. A lot of the songs we wanted weren't on the usual list and they allowed us to send over various Youtube videos and string quartet versions and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. At the reception, they really captured our taste in music while still playing something for everyone. Towards the end of the night they even slowed everything down, had us get into a circle and played some of the speeches that were given at dinner. It was a beautiful moment that I will remember for the rest of my life.

I cannot say enough kind words about Wed Start! I would recommend them to anyone.

Amazing Wedding DJ!

Absolutely incredible experience with Sean at Wed Start Productions for our wedding at the Wild Onion Brewery. He was so helpful not only in the wedding planning process providing great experience and suggestions but also the experience day of the wedding was amazing. Music choices and volume were both fantastic! Would highly recommend anyone looking for a great wedding DJ!

Organized, Professional, Stress Free, and more!

Sean and Scott far exceeded our expectations. Wed Start had a detailed website for planning that had many things we didn't initially consider. My wife was super impressed by the level of detail they put into it all.. Even after all the planning, there were many surprises that left our family and guests in awe. If I could rate Wed Start 100 out of 10, we would!!

Perfect DJ For Your Perfect Day

Sean and Scott at Wed Start did a perfect job for our big day! They went out of their way to make things as easy as possible. They even have your own website to input special requests and general information regarding the details of ceremonies and receptions.

They took so much stress out of the planning process, especially during the a world wide pandemic when so many things were uncertain. Sean and Scott didn't bat an eye and made sure everything ran as smooth as possible.

Best DJ By Far

Sean and Scott did an amazing job! They helped out with all of our requests and were very flexible. They were quick to respond and easy to communicate with, always listening to what we were looking for! They even were able to put up colored lighting and a TV with photo's rotating throughout the night during the reception which added a great personal touch. We also had several songs that we were looking for as instrumentals and they took the time to find the perfect variations for what we wanted. The best of the night was when we had our "last dance" of the evening, instead of it just being the two of us, they had the remaining guests come out and dance around us while playing audio recordings from the speeches from throughout the night. It was so personal and made us feel like we were in a movie. Even better - Scott had recorded it on video for us! Definitely a night we won'y forget. Wed Start did a fantastic job and helped us to have our perfect wedding!

Best wedding dj out there!

Sean and Scott from WedStart DJ were absolutely amazing! He kept everyone at my wedding on the dance floor all night long. I had a long list of songs/special dances that I wanted played and he suggested that we break them up throughout the evening so our guests didn't start to lose interest....he was so right!!! Literally the only thing that I got more compliments on from the wedding was my dress. Scott did some basic videoing at the wedding and reception and when I saw the video, I cried, it was so amazing to be able to re-live walking down the aisle, saying my vows and marrying my wonderful husband. Thank you Sean and Scott, when we renew our vows in 5-10 years we definitely want you guys again!!!

Choosing Sean from WedStart DJ was one of the best decisions we made for the wedding! Through the planning process he was easy to reach and always responded quickly to any questions. The wedding was amazing, our dance floor was packed all night, there was never a lull. I had so much fun, I danced most of the night myself, and I'm not much of a dancer! He was very professional and definitely tailored the whole night to fit our style. The best dj ever

DJ Sean was amazing! He kept the party going all night long at my wedding and my family never left the dance floor! It was awesome! He was great to work with and so organized. He guided us along the process since we were clueless on what a wedding entailed. He brought a fun game for us "putt for a kiss" which we loved - we have some pretty good golfers in the family. He made it specific to us. The ending was amazing since he played back the toasts from earlier in the day. It was the best wedding ever and my entire family won't stop talking about it. He kept things running smoothly without error. I am SO appreciative of Sean! Thank you a million times over!

Sean at Wed Start was AWESOME!!! He worked with us and our other vendors to create a day-of agenda (which was such a relief for us since we had a backyard wedding, and did a lot of the planning ourselves ). He perfectly coordinated the timing of our wedding, and we got so many compliments on not only the great music, but also how well everything flowed throughout the evening from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the dinner, and then on to the dancing. The dance floor was full all night, and everyone had such an awesome time dancing the night away! We would highly recommend Wed Start! Thanks again Sean!

Sean with Wed Start was AMAZING!!! I would highly recommend hiring Wed Start for your wedding! He was so supportive through the whole planning process. Sean was very responsive to our needs, very polite; went above and beyond for our wedding. Whenever we needed to contact him, he was always available; flexible with our unique requests. Loved working with Sean and his team! From the initial contact, the meeting in person and throughout the wedding day, Sean was professional, warm and stayed on top of things! He coordinated well with our guitarist, Reverend, wedding coordinator and us. Every person at the end of the night was still out on the dance floor! Such a personable and trustworthy man! We have been married 11 years. Still to this day, we have people tell us we had one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to. They attribute a lot of that to our awesome DJ! We hired Sean as the DJ for our 35th High School Reunion at Reserve 22 in Glen Ellyn.. He was great to work with: dependable, friendly, energetic, responsive, & good at reading our crowd. We provided him with a list of song requests from various genres & decades & he did a wonderful job of working them into the flow of the party. He was also a great "Host/Emcee," keeping the party moving, keeping the reunion committee on point with our timeline, & bringing certain aspects of the party to the attention of our guests. He led line dances for our guests & really helped to get the crowd on their feet. Overall, we were incredibly pleased with Sean's performance - he is definitely a great asset to a party & a value for what he brings to an event. We recommend him highly!

Sean was amazing. He was very organized and knew exactly what he was doing, which is great because we had no clue! He asked all the right questions during our initial meetings. The day of the wedding, he coordinated all of the sound equipment for the ceremony and we had a musician playing before the ceremony that Sean had set up. He then coordinated the wedding party introductions and the speeches. Then when the dancing began, it never stopped! There were people on the dance floor all night having a great time. Sean did an amazing job and I couldn't have asked for anything better. The whole night was perfect.

Sean was fantastic! He was always available to answer questions and responded quickly. He was also very flexible - we included Serbian music in our playlist and he did a beautiful job of seamlessly mixing it in with popular American music and kept everyone out on the dance floor. Sean even brought the idea of having people sing a love song instead of clinking their glasses for my husband and I to kiss, and our guests loved it! Wed Start DJ service was awesome, even with our crazy family! The DJ took the time to insure that he had a timeline of events, even if we weren't the most on top of it. The DJ even took the time to work with Photography to insure that we had time to do everything and that the music worked well with the activities we were doing. Five Stars! I would definitely recommend them to a friend who is looking for a personal touch. They will take the time to get to know you as a couple before the big day.

Sean was an AMAZING DJ and I would recommend him to all my friends and family. Sean was extremely organized and prepared for our wedding day. We met with him prior to the wedding to plan every detail of the big night. He was full of new and exciting ideas. My husband is a golfer and instead of doing the boring glass clinking, Sean suggested guests putt and if the putt went in we would kiss. This was a huge hit for our guests. Sean also created a fantastic slide show from pictures I sent him to highlight our childhood and memories as a couple. He brought along his own screen and projector for viewing. Sean knows how to keep guests on the dance floor and ours was packed the entire night. Guests had such an amazing time dancing, and he played a variety of music to make sure everyone was happy. Sean’s attention to detail was easily seen throughout the night. He kept the night running smoothly and made sure guests were informed on what was happening whether it be the photo booth being open or when the chocolate fountain and late food was out. I find myself constantly comparing other people’s wedding DJs to Sean. Nobody comes even close to how fantastic Sean was.

Sean was AWESOME at our wedding 10 years ago (2007), not only that we have also recommended Sean to every friend and family getting married over the years and everyone has thanked us because he is so good at what he does! Still today, we have family members who talk about how great our Dj was at our wedding...Sean made that great of an impression on our day, its still remembered a decade ago. Not only was his performance awesome, Sean himself is also a great person to work with and amazingly knowledgable on so much music! Don't pass up Sean, he'll have everyone dancing at your party, as he did for ours. Also, word of advice, people never remember the food and open bar at weddings, but Dj's for sure!

In my opinion the most important part of your wedding, other then who's officiating, is the DJ. The right one can make the night as memorable for the guests as for the bride and groom. Sean is one of the good ones. I met Sean more then 10 years ago at a graduation party for 2 of my cousins. Since then he has DJed for 2 cousins, my sister, my sister in law, and myself. All of them were great weddings.

One thing that Sean is especially good at is reading the mood of the crowd, he is great at getting people dancing. If a song isn't doing the trick he is quick to fade it out and change it up. If changing songs doesn't work he has a tub of props that can do the trick. At mine the village people hats came out, I wore the hard hat lol, after that there was NEVER a dull moment on the dance floor.

Sean was very flexible for my wife and I. We did as much as we could through skype and e-mail, but he made sure that he drove out of his way to have at least 1 face to face with us. I believe he wanted us to feel like he was invested, and he was. He brought a form that he used to note what songs we did/didn't want. What our priorities were. We wanted a few country slow songs for my wife's side, he accommodated that easily. We wanted all the "classics" like the electric slide and the chicken dance as well and we got those.

Another thing that Sean takes upon himself is to make sure that he knows the flow of the night so that he can keep everyone on track if need be. He took our wedding as seriously is if we were family. Despite being based out of Crystal Lake he also drove out to Lake Geneva for our wedding/reception which was fantastic.

The bottom line is that you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't go with Sean. You will never find a more accommodating, responsible, and most importantly FUN DJ.

I am very happy to endorse this DJ company. They helped with the initial planning of 12 months and always were positive and worked with my wife to accommodated her wishes. They went above and beyond our expectations and had a lot of helpful ideas.
They were very professional the night of our reception and were set-up and ready to go well in advance of our guests. Most songs were at our request, and it sounded awesome!
The wedding party introductions, the toasts and the other traditional parts went perfectly. They kept our friends and family on the dance floor and having a great time.
I know there are a lot of DJ companies out there, but Wed Start is the best from Start to End!

Sean and his crew DJ'd our family reception as well as a side party that we threw just for our close friends. First, their sound system was fantastic. Second, they really know how to adapt the playlist to the audience. I'm a musician, and my tastes tend to be a little outside the mainstream, but Sean took a look at our suggestions and managed to tastefully balance our personal favorites with more familiar crowd-pleasers. As for professionalism, what can I say except that they were on time, unloaded quickly, and apart from making the occasional request we were able to focus on the party and take the great soundtrack for granted.

This should be the first thing you book for your wedding!!!! Sean from Wed Start was absolutely incredible!!! He took care of us from the beginning. He met with us and created an agenda to run the order of services. From that moment on we knew we were in good hands. Our requests were non-traditional and he was able to blend them with the modern music so people had a great time plus we had our personal touch at the reception... Our wedding was 7 months ago but we are still getting rave reviews from our friends. Everyone has been telling us that the time they had was AMAZING!!

Sean DJ'd our wedding a while ago... He hit every title we requested and then some. (It was quite the mix and he balanced it perfectly) He even remembered the correct version of "At Last" (wife wanted Beyonce') Sean paid attention to every detail and it made all the difference. He had the entire reception on the dance floor!

There are so many moving pieces to making a wedding happen. Sean was instrumental in making sure that everything was synced up on our big day. From the first meeting till the day of. Sean was so professional, easy going, and flexible throughout the entire process! The music was fantastic throughout our ceremony and reception. There was no lull in dancing at all throughout the night! Super affordable and great to work with!

Sean with Wed Start was awesome! He kept in touch with us and met with us in person multiple times to be sure we were on the same page. He was personable, easy to work with, and went out of his way to adjust to our requests (including having someone sing the first dance song). Sean managed the wedding well, worked the crowd to make sure to get everyone dancing ALL night, and had creative games (putt for a kiss instead of clinking glasses was so fun). His sound system was high quality and we had no problems with it at all. The use of the accent lighting was a great touch and made for a fun atmosphere. We would highly recommend Wed Start to anyone getting married!

We had a great experience at my son's wedding. Not only did Sean Trudeau keep the guests dancing, but he helped so much with the planning and the choreography from the ceremony, to the intros, to the last dance. He made our day a success!
